Fish and Chips waren wirklich Weltklasse.

Masters Superfish is a hidden gem for those craving classic chips and fish done right. The food is consistently delicious, with perfectly crispy battered fish and chips that taste just like they should. The authentic atmosphere adds to the experience, transporting you to a cozy seaside eatery. While the menu might be straightforward, the flavors are anything but. Each bite is a reminder of why traditional fish and chips are timeless. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that sometimes the wait can be a bit long during peak hours. Nonetheless, it's still one of my favorite spots for a satisfying meal.

£17.75 for haddock and chips. Poor quality chips. Like overcooked frozen oven chips. Not like proper chip shop chips.

Had a wonderful dinner here. Cute little place. Owners are nice and attentive. Only thing was wrong was I ordered sweet cider beer, and they brought me reg saying they didn't have any sweet cider cold. I think I should have been asked. I didn't drink it.

It's usually good here, but on this occasion was superlative. Had haddock which was huge, tasty & moist with chunky flakes. A truly memorable fish and chips. 👍😋

Been going to Masters since 2006 and the fish and chips was always exceptional. Visited about 6 months ago and got takeaway, on getting home smelt of ammonia and inedible. Totally shocked and put it down to a one off. Gave them a second chance recently and the fish was skinny, mushy and brown looking with thin soggy batter. Although no ammonia smell, it wasn’t thick and flaky like it used to be. Such a shame an iconic chippy has gone down the pan. Will discourage all my clients from going there, rather than recommending in the past. No third chances. Such a shame! Maybe it’s changed management or supplier.

Mi familia y yo nos detuvimos aquí ya que estaba muy cerca de nuestro hotel una noche para cenar. Mi esposo y yo DIVIDIMOS un pedido de pescado y papas fritas, y mis hijos recibieron hamburguesas. Las porciones son enormes, y el pescado y las patatas fritas (además de las otras cosas con las que vino) eran exactamente lo que esperábamos y quedamos encantados. ¡Las hamburguesas y papas fritas de nuestros hijos también estaban muy buenas! Está un poco apretado allí (no es un lugar enorme), pero definitivamente vale la pena visitarlo.

Great Fish & chips eat in or takeaway, and liked the fact they had either option. When eating in there was included bread, sauces and pickles (gherkin & onion) plus some shell in prawns.Saw this place by chance when staying at a nearby hotel and was craving just this and was a great traditional, reasonably priced fish and chip supper with the usual options or pies, sausages and also lasagne too. Will go again when staying nearby

We found this place from its TripAdvisor reviews and really enjoyed it. Diverse menu including some Asian dishes as well as good traditional fish and chips with complimentary bread and prawns with ketchup with tartare sauce . Friendly service and good prices.

Trovato per caso. Non è il classico posto turistico, motivo anche questo della scelta. In perfetto stile londinese. I canoni di pulizia che abbiamo in Italia non sono assolutamente in linea con quelli londinesi, ma questo è rinomato. Cucina londinese, dove il fish and chips la fa da padrone. Porzioni abbondantissime quasi da non riuscire a finirle, ma veramente buono. Il servizio tutto sommato buono, a conduzione familiare. Il titolare persona molto disponibile, anche se a prima vista può sembrare burbero. Locale perfetto per vivere a pieno la vita londinese.

Grilled sea bass; salad and chips for my mam and I smashed a Master’s Special into me. Mam really enjoyed her bass and my MS was typically delightful. I like the comp cooked prawn with bread and the big pickled onions and giant gherkins. A nice touch. Couple of cans of pop and a tip took the bill to £30. That’s good vfm in my mind for such fresh and tasty food.

The best fish and chip ever , absolutely delicious well worth a visit if your in the area . Service was quick although the guy who brought our food gave the impression he would rather be doing something else but I'd still give it 10 out of 10 .

Este lugar no parece mucho. Casi no entramos. Pero muy contento de haberlo hecho, The Masters Special fue muy bueno. La masa estaba muy buena. No es el mejor que he tenido, pero definitivamente es alto. Sin embargo, pescan debajo de la masa era de primera categoría. El pescado es de alta calidad. Compensa cualquier cosa que pueda haber faltado en la masa. Las patatas fritas eran perfectas. No soy un gran fanático de los chips, pero no podía dejar de comerlos. Visited here after reading reviews & being fed up with hotel food. Decided to grab a takeaway rather than sit in. Your food is cooked fresh in front of you, which you dont mind waiting for.

Also went on Footsteps coach trip and stopped at Masters on way to the Tutankhamen exhibition. What a great place - lovely fresh prawns, bread and pickles - the fish was delicious in really crispy batter and the chips were also delicious.

What a great find. A sit down fish and chip restaurant in Waterloo about 3 mins walk from the station (they do takeaway too). I ordered cod, chips, peas and a cup of tea and they bought me bread, butter, prawns, pickled gherkin & onion while I was waiting. All for less than £15. Friendly staff, good service and fresh food and not mass produced or a multi national logo in site.

I was on a Footsteps Tours trip when we stopped here for a sit down fish and chip lunch. Although there was a lot of us, we were served quickly, the fish and chips were freshly cooked, the batter light and crisp and crisp chips. A lovely lunch. Thank you to all at Masters

Having moved office to near the fish and chip shop and having heard good reviews I went to lunch with a friend today. It took a while to get served but the food made up for it. Portions are big especially with the bread and butter, pickles and prawns. We shared cod superbites, chips and mushy peas plus couple of drinks £16 - very full and will be returning soon.

Il locale è carino, tenuto da orientali, pulito ma un po' saturo di odore di fritto (normale per quello che cucinano). Pesce fritto di tutti i tipi, croccante e molto buono. Ti portano subito il pane con salsine varie, cetrioli e cipolla. Lo consiglio certamente se si vuole mangiare un ottimo fisch and chips con una birra a meno di 15 sterline...

We visited twice. A good time to visit is just after it re-opens in the afternoon (closed from 3pm - 4.30pm) It's quiet then but soon gets busy. Prime cod and chips is big, filling and very tasty. Crunchy batter, excellent fish and nice thick chips. You get free bread and butter, six whole prawns and pickles when you sit down. Sides are a little on the pricy side with mushy peas or baked beans (smallish) at just under £3 each, and a can of Fanta is £2.75. But your main meal will leave you very satisfied and full up.

Disappointing ,did not meet my expectations although there were some nice touches,such as providing some prawns and pickles.The cod fillet was thin and the batter was thick ,chips were OK and the pot of tea most welcome.

Pedimos dos “cod fillet”(bacalao) y la El verdad que estaba buenísimo, poco aceitoso, cero espinas y delicioso. El precio muy económico para ser londres.

Authentic English fish and chips. We took a cab and our driver was hilarious and amazing and when we said where to take us he said “that place is in the top 3 in London” it’s also where he goes. It did not disappoint

Called in here Saturday 10 August quite late not realising their closing time was so early. Ordered and fresh bread, pickles and prawns arrived to tide us over - delicious! Main meals came quickly and although tasty, would probably have enjoyed more if we didn't have to rush. There's a takeaway next door so maybe we should have ordered from there to take home with us. Very reasonably priced though.

So I checked out TA for a good seafood place and saw Master Superfish as a good fish and chip location. So I decided to check this place out since it was close to my hotel.

Had been here once before on past London trip. The fish was great then so tried it on this trip. Wasn't disappointed ! Fish and chips here are really good. We ordered the Haddock, large portion and great recipe. For each entree they bring you some unpeeled shrimp, pickles and bread as starters. Place is popular with local folks and they do a booming buisness out their take out counter. Lots of folks picked up stewady while we were there. Saw folks ordering specials, tuna, salmon and skate. All looked good and folks beside us said it was great! Very reasonable prices, very good food, will be back again.

I had high expectation due to the grand claims they make, sadly wrong, I simply don’t understand the great reviews of this place.

We rate this as the greatest little fish and chip shop in London. A very simple cafe but it serves the best fish and chips! The atmosphere is unique and the service is good as well as prices. The toilet facilities are very limited and we recommended a 'polish up'

Recommended to us by a tour van driver. He said it was a dive and favored by London's cabbies looking for good food at a low price. Our driver was right. Walking in you wonder why you're here as it gets pretty cramped. Food comes out HOT and it is good, and plenty of it, and well worth the price. Take a break from the more expensive places and look this one up. Maybe not the Best but it's pretty good.

This place was right by my hotel so I decided to try it. Police and Ambulance personnel lined up seemed to indicate the place had good food.

My partner and myself had travelled into London to see a show and spend the night at a nearby hotel. Meeting up after work and getting on the tube we were both starving and decided once we got to our hotel we'd find somewhere to get a snack-i.e. some chips!! We checked in,dumped our bags and did a search on Google maps for chips. This was one of the nearest places so we decided to go. I'm so glad we did! Once we got there we had a look at the menu outside and decided to go in. I then decided I was too hungry to just have chips so opted for a half chicken and chips. She had a fish goujon bap with chips. Main meals came with complimentary gerkhins,pickled onions, bread and dips. We also ordered a side of mushy peas and curry sauce. We got there at just about the right time (about 5.15) as shortly after the place filled up really quickly with locals and tourists alike. Our food took a while as it was freshly cooked (which we much prefer)but the complimentary items and drinks were served within 5 minutes of ordering. Portions were huge and we could not finish everything. Staff were friendly and polite without being in your face. Our plan had been to get some food here and then head back to the hotel to get ready for dinner later. We went back to our hotel, got ready to go out but for dinnet but were so full could not eat anything else. We ended up not eating again until the following morning!!I cannot recommend this place enough. As an Irish person who loves proper chips, this has to be one of my favourites!

We found this place by accident on our last day. Very close to our hotel and had a great recommendation. We hadn’t gone for fish and chips yet and thought we can’t leave without having it. This place was perfect, we had haddock with coleslaw, so glad we skipped the chips as we wouldn’t have managed it. The piece was enormous and delicious. Lovely staff, and you get extras like fresh bread, dill pickles and onion plus fresh prawns. Its also incredibly reasonable. It you are near Waterloo Station make a stop to this quaint shop

Excellent food and we had no hesitation to recommend this place to fellow travellers in our hotel. We would have given it a 5 star rating but the service was a bit sketchy. The food, though, was awesome.

Best fish & chips ever! Was umming and aahhing about going in when a lady stopped me and said she came all the way from Hackney to have her fish and chips here. From that statement, I was in! Looking at the menu I thought it was a bit expensive but boy did you get a lot for your money. Bread & butter, a pickled onion & a dill pickle, a plate of shell on prawns, a huge piece of beautifully cooked fish and more chips than I could manage - all for £12.50 with a coke. Will definitely visit again when in the area. Highly recommended.

In a land where fish and chippers are just about everywhere, this one is a standout. It has a very busy takeout counter, the line to which somewhat blocks the dining room entrance. The dining room is a rather cramped affair that does have adequate tables to handle the traffic.

Grew up in south London and Would go far past pass many other ‘fish and chip’ shops just to come here! It’s London’s finest fish chip shop ! If in doubt ask a London cabbie. Much as I wanna leave this good review I really hope the place doesn’t change or suddenly get bought out. P.s Try the mustard COD super fry I’m telling you your gonna thank me! We visited Superfish three years ago for the first time and couldn't wait to bring our new traveling companion there for a meal on this year's visit to London. We were not disappointed because they continue to serve great fish n chips just like three years ago. Our companion who loves fish was duly impressed. And the price continues to be very reasonable for one of the best value meals we had in our two weeks in Europe.

This place was close to our hotel, it was 10 pm and I hadn't eaten since lunchtime so was starving. I got the cod and chips. The portions are large, neither the fish nor chips was greasy and they bring fresh bread and butter as well as condiments. It is licensed also. It was nice enough, but I would recommend getting a takeaway rather than eating in because our clothes were stinking of cooking fat after we left - unpleasant.

There's loads to choose from on the menu. The lunch specials menu - excellent value £9 for a main with chips and a drink. I went for the fried halloumi with chips, curry sauce. They bring you some complimentary pickles and shelled prawns, really nice touch. My friends both said the fish was amazing. I'm not usually a fan of chip shop chips but I really enjoyed them they weren't too greasy and accompanied by a delicious curry sauce, perfection.

We were staying next door in the London Waterloo Travel Lodge and decided to eat here after reading TA reviews. We could not find fault with the food, service,price or cleanliness. A really enjoyable meal, best fish and chips I have tasted in a very long time. would not hesitate to recommend.

Located on Waterloo Road via Waterloo Exit 2. Turn right as you leave the station and Masters Superfish is only a couple of minutes walk. The eat-in area is quite spacious. Paid our first visit on a Saturday evening. We received complimentary prawns, bread and pickles plonked down onto our table by an indifferent member of staff with our main dishes plus a boatful of tartare sauce and tomato ketchup. Really impressed with the chips and enjoyed the rustic, and functional decor. I had the calamari and my friend had the cod. We were both pleased and left feeling satisfied.

I'm a regular visitor. Not disappointed. A short walk from the Waterloo Station. While I do not live in London, I visit here on almost every trip. So far, I have not found a better place for fish and chips.
