this place is a lovely place catering for quiet or in the main dinning area. We ordered scallops for starters took over 1/2 a hour to come after ordering, Our main course was lovely but sweet was mainly cream

It sounds like it has changed hands. The menu has reduced and not much choice. Was asked to leave table as time limited . This was not explained.The pub was very quiet so did not see a problem . The staff were nice but it was obvious they were not happy in there work .The food we had was nice . Prob choose the barley next time

Lovely food and lovely waitress but when the landlord starts a fight with staff in full view of customers… it ruins the atmosphere. The language was disgusting and in a room with children and families. Put a bad taste to a lovely family outing. Won’t visit again until it’s under new ownership. Staff should not have to be apologising for the owner screaming the f word in the middle of the bar and getting aggressive with his staff.

Delicious food at extremely reasonable prices, my sister & I have been twice this week. The chicken supreme was just that, the rabbit hot pot very tasty, if I could make a suggestion that the portion size could be smaller & served with vegetables. Last night my sister had the courgette vegetarian dish which she really enjoyed as did I with the well cooked lamb rump with a creamy mashed potato. The dessert of bread & butter pudding was served with a very good custard. We have requested more vegetables with some meals & been obliged although there are no sides listed on the menu. Lucky to have this place a 5 minute drive away.

Had an amazing meal with my wife and young child on Tuesday. Booked a table for the steak night that is only offered in a Tuesday, we pre-ordered the Tomahawk Steak for us to share and it is possible the best steak we have ever had. The staff were fantastic, thanks to Lou, Sophie, Oliver and the chef Darius for a wonderful evening. Will be back for another Tomahawk soon

We celebrated a special family birthday and were so well looked after. All enjoyed their food. We have eaten here before and would come again. Many thanks.

We went in 3 days on the trot at the weekend. Sunday lunch is THE best one I have ever had, meat just melted in my mouth. All the staff were very professional and polite. Dog friendly in the heart of our lovely village. Lou and Lee are fantastic hosts.

We went there for Valentines day...anniversary of our first valentines dinner there years ago under different management. The food was lovey, the staff could not be nicer. The only thing confusing was reservation site, which only gave us spot at 5pm, saying sold out, and only allotted a little more than an hour to eat. Come 6, 7, and 8pm the place was dead, with an most only half the tables full, despite saying fully booked. There was live music, which according to reservation meant we should have been done and dusted by then, but staff encouraged us to stay. I guess Valentine dinner had to be preordered, but we made do on menu. The food was lovely! A little heavy on the sour flavour on mussels, but the steak and desserts were perfection! So much better than our experience years ago...

Had a fab early evening. Food was amazing. Staff were just lovely. Really friendly. Food was very well presented and tasted amazing. The menu was lovely too. I eat pidgeon which was lovely. What a super venue really homely atmosphere 👏

A great experience all round - a warm welcome, efficient service and a delicious, hot Sunday lunch. A clean, well maintained pub, too. Bread & butter pudding worth every calorie! Our first visit, but definitely not our last.

First time visiting upon recommendation We turned up and said they didn’t have certain items on the menu. However THE BEST THREE COURSE MEAL I have had in a long time. Would recommend the food and the service Atmosphere was made ever better with a live singer. Our sever Sophie gave us a very pleasant service insuring we had the best time possible without hovering over us whilst eating all in all an amazing experience 10/10

Popped in for a lunchtime meal. Great service and atmosphere. Lunch menu has a great selection and offer for 1 , 2 or 3 course really good value. Food spot on.

Just want to say a Great Big Thank you to Lou & Lee and all the great staff for such a brilliantly organised Christmas day dinner from us all. From the moment we all arrived to leaving nothing but praise for the quality of the food & service. See you in the New Year.

We revisited this week after having a reasonable meal here about six weeks ago. The starters, a spicy soup and chicken skewers were excellent as were the gin and tonics.The onion bhajis accompanying the soup although tasty were however overcooked and crumbly. The batter on my wife’s fish was overcooked and the small portion of fish was greasy and had the skin on. My steak and blue cheese pie, although home baked looked like it could have been bought from the local supermarket. This had again been overcooked and the minimal contents had very little flavour. Although the restaurant was almost empty, we did have a fairly lengthy wait for the main courses and the overcooked state of the food gave the impression that the cooking had been rushed. Our waitress, Sophie was very attentive,knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately we will not be returning here for the foreseeable future.

Fantastic service and incredible food. They have traditional pub grub menu items, along with really out there dishes - they truly cater for all needs. Top notch

Lovely staff and decor but food is too 'arty faffy'. Not straight forward pub grub. If you want gourmet that's fine but we thought it would be just good old hearty pub food. For instance the 'hot apple pie' dessert is not hot and is not a pie. Its deconstructed and the apple is a whole apple stewed/steamed and cold in the middle of the plate with bits of pastry lumps round the edge of the plate. It isnt described either on the menu only as 'hot apple pie'. It was only the waitress (who was good enough to offer the explanation and photo) it needs to be described properly as currently its misleading on the menu. No veg with the turkey dinner, only turkey and potatoes, described correctly but no option either to buy a side of veg. Very nicely cooked so please don't think the food is awful as it isn't, it's just strange and not what we were expecting. Unfortunately it's not to our taste of menu which is a shame as we are local and would go regularly otherwise. However the staff were very good.

Recently refurbished pub that concentrates on food. I can't comment on that as I didn't eat but the two real ales on the bar were good and the staff were friendly and welcoming

We came on a Saturday lunchtime for one or two drinks and a catch-up. Although the drinks were good and the service at the bar decent, we unfortunately could not hear each other because the music was so loud - and it was only 2pm!

Great find off the beaten path. Staff friendly and helpful even when I couldn’t decide off the extensive menu. Food was homemade, tasty and very filling.

The quality of food and service is very good! The Sunday roast is excellent value for money with a large portion. The duck leg confit and Salmon with pasta meals we had were really tasty and presented beautifully. Would definitely recommend and will be revisiting.
