Masala Twist West End in Glasgow City

Called in before going on to a gig having seen good reviews. Wasn’t disappointed, different take on Indian food and plenty for veggies here. Great service and really enjoyed the Yogurt Bomb starters. Main course was plentiful and we couldn’t finish the huge portions much as we tried. Will definitely come back next time I’m in the west end.

The seekh kebab with garlic naan delicious hot sauces made another taste to it. Golaab Jaman was very fresh. Mango lassi was specially. The customer service was fantastic atmosphere was friendlier welcoming! Enjoyed my time lovely food definitely I would recommend coming with family! Food was fine, not fabulous. Three veggie mains were underwhelming, coriander and garlic naan was the highlight. Nice but won't rush back.

Joined a few football colleagues for a night out commencing in the Bantawala. Service was great from the moment we walked in until the time we left. We had some sharing platters between us for starters and every item was excellent. Main courses were so good that we ended up passing round all the dishes between us. Not much room left for desserts but those who managed it were raving about them. Staff were very attentive and quickly spotted when more drinks were required . All in all an excellent experience

We were down for a concert and went out to look for somewhere to eat. The place we’d opted for wasn’t suitable and as we went along Byres Road, we spotted the bright colours of the restaurant signage and decided to give it a try. We were greeted at the door by a very pleasant young girl who held the door open for us to come in with the wheelchair. The interior gave off street food vibes and the menu was extensive and was lovely to see lots of new dishes that aren’t the usual standard on an Indian menu. Originally we were just going to have a one course meal, but after reading the menu we ended up having a 3 course meal. Every dish was delicious, the flavours lingered enhancing the dining experience. All the staff were so lovely and friendly too. There’s a bell to ring as you leave if you enjoy the meal and we both rang it. Will definitely go back when we’re back in Glasgow, even if it means travelling well out of our way for this restaurant.

My friend and I decided to give this eatery a try and lucky enough they found us a table on a busy Saturday night! Staff were attentive and the menu was plentiful. I opted for the Samosa's for starters and my friend had the mixed platter, we also got some poppadoms and spiced onions which were also very tasty. For mains I had the chicken Tikka sizzler and my friend had the Lamb Bhoona both well presented and tasty! overall a very pleasant experience and the bill was reasonable, worth a visit if you like Indian food.

Popped in for some lunch - really nice environment, staff friendly and food was delicious and excellent value. Garlic & Coriander Nan bread was absolutely fantastic. Very well priced lunch menu also. Will be returning.

The food was amazingly good. We arrived as a group of 12, with no prior booking and was warmly welcomed. Between us we had a completely diverse selection of the menu and there was not a bad or average dish on the table. Every dish was a winner, from the popadoms, to the starters and continued with the mains. The staff were friendly and had a brilliant sense of humour. Popped in for a pre theatre after a day out in the west end and was not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food was delightful as well. We were heading for a night out in Great Western Road, and wandered down Byres Road. Found Banta Wala Indian restaurant, and thought we’d try it out. So glad we did! Himself had chicken pakora (lovely pieces of chicken, very lightly fried – best we’ve tasted) and I had an Indian street food, Chat (can’t remember which) which is crunchy wheat crisps with veg and spices. Very tasty, but felt a bit like eating rice crispies! Himself had Chicken Dopiaza, and I had Chicken garlic chilli. The latter was lovely and spicy, but even better with some yogurt to cool it down a wee bit. The rice and naan bread were also very tasty. Definitely be coming back; this didn’t break the bank, though the portions were generous and quite hard to finish.

You are going to LOVE this restaurant! The food is as good as any Indian food I have ever had. We loved it. The servings are quite generous. One dish was a little spicier than we had hoped so they brought us a yogurt dish to mix in which settled the spices for us and we were able to more fully enjoy the dish. The garlic naan itself will make you weep! Highly recommend. (And, I hate to compare, but shall, this food was better than what we had at Dishoom in London.)
