We made a booking with marks and Spencer's for a delivery of a fresh fruit basket. Marks and Spencer's kept me updated all the way thro and told me the hour the fruit would be delivered. It was delivered within the hour suggested. My friend who they were going to was so pleased with them. All in all a very good service Anne walker

Lovely coffee, the price is at the top end of most coffee shops, I don't mind that, but for the last 2 weeks our coffee has been seved in paper cups, because the dishwasher is broken, we were told. I don't think that customers should have to pay full price for takeaway cups, it's hardly a nice experience to drink out of. If this doesn't change, will probably start using Costa again.

If you ever want to teach a group of retail staff how to efficiently and effectively demonstrate great customer service take them no further than to M&S Anlaby Food Hall. Been on a number of occasions for big and small shops and every time i have been advised and served by their array of happy to help staff. A very well managed and organised bunch who clearly have pride to wear the badge. I’d recommend the ‘Posh Dogs’ for a great lunch time snack.

I am writing this for the cafe at Kingswood in Hull. Great strong coffee and lovely jacket potato with salad. The sausage sandwich ( which I’m sure was microwaved ) was a bit hard so not so enjoyable. Very handy if it’s not too busy and want something quick.

One of the coffee machines was down so had to queue for a short while. However the young man at the front of the shop was polite, quite humerous and kept us talking during the small wait. Once served we were rewarded with a lovely coffee and carrot cake. Both were welcomed plus toilets were nearby bonus....

This would be an excellent café if they improved the service, staff should try to be quicker in dealing with orders and customers instead of gossiping to each other. Improve that and it would be a little gem as the food and drinks are excellent.

Stopped off on a rainy Saturday to marks and spencer cafe in Hull. Was surprised to see soft drinks priced at £2 and the rest of the menu is equally highly priced for a cafe! However the staff throughout were lovely. I observed a staff member dealing with an elderly gentleman and she couldn't have done enough for him... sitting with him putting sugar etc... into his tea. Really lovely to see!

We stopped for a bite to eat whilst shopping, fortunately, we weren't overly hungry. The staff were excellent but the let down was the lack of choice. What they had seemed good (we had tea cakes, coffee and cake for three which was just short of £20), but more of a pit-stop place than a fully fledged restaurant.

Being near Christmas, we decided to shop early at M&S in Anlaby, near Hull, and have breakfast there before the shopping. Their cafe is well advertised on their web site, but it was a disappointment. There were no cooked breakfasts on the menu other than toasted rolls or bagels with either sausage, bacon, mushroom or tomato. For the price of a full English breakfast at Wetherspoons, you could have what was in fact a bacon sarnie. The lunch menu was even sparser - turkey pie, some vegetarian thing, jacket potatoes with various options for a filling, or a salad. Next to the counter was a kiosk where you could pick up a soft drink and cellophane wrapped sandwiches. And that was it. For a cafe, it's options are quite limited, and pricey.

Such a shame that this café does not live up to expectations from Marks & Spencers. There is always a long wait to be served, despite there been lots of staff around. The choice of food is very poor with made up sandwiches and stale cakes. The tables take forever to be cleaned and it is always very cold in there, not much fun sitting shivering while eating. We have persevered on a few occasions but don't think we will bother again. With so many cafes to choose from in the area I would have expected better from Marks & Spencers.

This Marks and Spencer food outlet has not been open long -probably nearly a year now and it's really taken off. My husband and I call in regularly as we have to visit Hull regularly for family reasons and the cafe here first class. In line with other M & S cafes, it is fresh, clean and modern. The food is always M & S, of course, but where can you get such consistant quality? Last week I tried their Breakfast Bloomer, even though it was 12.30pm. I expected it to be lovely, and it was! You get a slice of M & S bloomer loaf toasted, and topped with soft scrambled egg, bacon and a little cluster of cherry tomatoes on the vine. It was yummy. Just enough for a snack and you could, of course, add cake or something to make a more substantial meal. The great thing about M & S cafes is that they add a calorie count on their menu board. Having just started my slim-down-for-Christmas campaign, it was really helpful to know this was 'costing' me only 300 calories. Brilliant! Not expensive either- something like £3.95, but cannot be too sure, exactly. Oh! and it's delivered to your table as it's hot food.Great lunch thanks M & S

Went today for lunch , I decided i was having soup , they said it was the last portion so that was fine , I asked for no bread which , when it came it was the smallest half bowl of soup for £6.25 , I didn’t want anything knocking off for not having the bread but did expect a full dish, looking at the menu I could of had a small breakfast, or sandwich for about the same price , it’s soup where do they get over £6 for it!!
