Mario's in East Lindsey

This is a real gem on the edge of Skegness just away from the main sea front. We phoned to book a table to be told only got 5.30 or 8.30 left - always a good sign - we selected 5.30.We were shown to our table by a very pleasant waitress who soon returned to take our drinks order. The restaurant was clean and pleasant and very quickly started to fill up with families and couples. There was soon a great ambience and buzz in what is clearly a popular and friendly family restaurant.Our starters of fritto misto and salsiccia were tasty, well presented and hot. My only comment was maybe a check on the mussels on the fritto misto before serving should be made as of the 5 on the dish 3 were still closed.Our mains of Linguine Allo Scoglio (mussels, king prawns, tiger prawns, white wine & tomato) and Risotto Mario (scallops and chicken, white wine, cream and garlic) were both excellent - we had half of each!We were not going to have dessert but the food had been so good we just had to give it a go! So pleased we did - the Tiramisu was 'to die for'! Clearly home made, very light and VERY tasty. We only ordered one and the waitress, without asking, brought 2 spoons, clearly knowing that when it arrived we would both want to have a go - she was correct!This was an excellent venue with excellent food all served by friendly, helpful and efficient staff.

Booked 17th August 2021 via Facebook messenger to marios. Message was seen by restaurant no reply so I telephoned Saturday 21st August to confirm our booking to be told we had no booking and they were fully booked to which I questioned I had sent a message to book but the waitress just replied im sorry. Customer service is key and a reply to just say sorry we are fully booked would have been appreciated. 6 days before our requested booking and received no correspondence from restaurant is appalling

We went to Mario's as we wanted a special treat and we'd read really good reviews, pleased to say they were correct. For the starter my wife had the calamari and I had the polpette (meatballs). They were delicious and we split them 50/50 as we both had food envy looking at the other's food. For our mains we had the risotto with chicken and scallops and the special calzone. All of it was cooked to perfection and there was lots of filler in the calzone. The dessert menu was tempting but we wanted to leave room to drink afterwards. The staff were very friendly and attentive and they deserve their brilliant reviews.

We called last minute but lucky enough to get in on a Thursday night. Restaurant was full all night. Food is all cooked fresh and really tasty. The staff were really friendly and catered for everything. Would recommend.

Just dined at Marios this evening. First time and really enjoyed it. We are staying in. Butlin’s but fancied some quality food and we’re not let down. Service impeccable, wine (montepulciano dabruzzo) was gorgeous and home cooked pasta was super. My husband had the tuna special and it was perfectly cooked. The tiramisu is a must also. Thank you for a very enjoyable meal

Called and got a last minute table for four. We were greeted by the wonderful aroma of herbs and garlic. The staff were attentive and amusing, making it a pleasant experience. The food was delicious and plentiful, in fact none of us managed to eat it all. We left very happy and would 100% recommend it.

Having enjoyed Marios’s so much on our very first visit we decided to return with friends a week later so that they too could sample both the food and atmosphere here!A comprehensive choice both on the main menu and daily specials ensured that we all found food to savour. For those wanting something not shown on the menu’s this was not a problem and all the staff provided us with excellent service. Our third visit is only just around the corner and Mario himself should be congratulated on what he’s achieving here.

Whilst the restaurant was not busy the only male front of house staff only smiled when his friends came in, he shouted to one of the staff across the restaurant right next to our table, this is not the place for a cosy dinner, food very bland. Next time we will go round the corner to the other Italian, they need to understand customer service and correct presentation

i have been here a few times, each time the service has been great and the food excellent , the staff are friendly always happy to help, booking first is a good idea as the place is always busy , i had a meal for two with a starter and soft drinks £60 recommend if your in the area on holiday

We went yesterday on the 14th of June. As soon as we walked in all staff eyes were at us making it very awkward. We ordered a bottle of wine which was rather nice, then food. We had for staters mixed olives that did taste good. For mains one of us had pasta with mushrooms with chicken in a creamy sauce, the past was super undercooked and the sauce with all other ingredients tasted horrible and was cold. The other hand asked the waitress what was her favourite dish of the menu in which she gave two options. We then decided to trust her Opinion and went for lasagna in which she had said was made the proper Italian way. When the lasagna Came it look like a slabs of mash potato on a plate! After tasting the lasagna I asked the waitress if the lasagna was freshly made, she then said yes all the food is freshly made but this did not reside with the meal. As having eaten Italian food in Italy and also in the UK this food was definitely not acceptable to be called an Italian restaurant. For the amount we paid for the food this restaurant should be closed. As for their website stating they won competitions for best italian food I believe that their restaurant has gone downhill within the years and they need to close and relearn how to cook!

Learn how to cook seafood. Prawns like rubber mussels as tough as anything. Complete waste of £80 and ruined birthday meal

I have pre booked table in advance few weeks before, a day before I rang to make sure we can sit inside, the answer was yes.Once we entered the restaurant and said our surname, the lady at the bar was keep looking at the booking sheet at us, felt awkward, looked like she had no knowledge of our booking, then was whispering to another member of staff, then said we are sitting outside, I said no we rang a day before and been told we are going to sit inside. By that point I wanted to walk out. Eventually we were seated.The only person who enjoyed his meal was my son, he ordered meat balls in tomato sauce and a pizza. I would say he was lucky.I had rocket, pear and goat cheese salad with caramelized onion chutney on a toasted bread. Bread was stone cold, it was no caramelized onion chutney, it was a few slightly pickled and sliced onions. For main I had creamy pasta with chicken and wild mushrooms, that's what menu said anyway. There was no wild mushrooms to be found in my pasta, it was a few sliced closed button mushrooms. Pasta sauce was split, no creaminess, that indicates that quite possibly dish was overheated. No flavour either. My husband's starter was nice he said, he had mushrooms ans prawns. For main he had Risotto with scallops, lack of flavour whatsoever. It's a shame as ingredients were good. My Dad in law had for main pasta that includes chilli, he did asked specifically to go easy with a chilli. We have tasted his pasta, it was far too spicy for us and far too spicy for a pasta dish. My daughter asked for plain pasta and a bit of ketchup/tomato sauce. Her pasta was a bit cold and they gave her the cheapest ketchup from Aldi that was very thin and more orange colour rather than red. I do believe that she is not the only child that asked for some ketchup. She couldn't eat it. Do yourselves a favour and get a nice ketchup.We asked for table water twice, eventually after the meal we have got it.The whole experience was very disappointing. We were not felt welcome and food was poor. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. A few local people said that you need to know what to order when you go Mario's. It shouldn't be like that. Dishes should be what the menu says not something different.I can do majority Italian meals very well as worked in Italian restaurant as a sous chef and learned a lot from great chefs. I do know what the good pasta is.

Initial impression not good. Served by a brusque young girl in pumps with manners more suited to Mcdonalds. Ironically I later overheard her saying to a colleague "if they sack me, they sack me".Nibbles arrived 20 minutes later along with the starters, which was not good. Meatballs were tasteless.Main course was Seabass and was very good. I asked Mario to do me a lemon and butter sauce rather than cream, which was fine as I said I didn't like cream in cooking (my wife decided on Italian, not me). Only the vegetables were drenched in cream and were therefore inedible to me.Black Americano was watered down.Not good, not bad but for the price and service we certainly won't be coming back.

We visited whilst on holiday in the area and it was the best meal. We all had 3 courses very enjoyable lovely setting and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We did have to book in advance as it was half term and very busy. We will definitely be back when back in Skegness.

My wife booked this restaurant a few weeks ago as was looking forward to our visit. We telephoned the night before to ensure we were inside, but on arrival looked as though we were going to be located outside I quickly intervened and was shown to a table inside. Table service on a whole was good, it was slightly let down when we asked for table water and it didn't come, after our main course we had to ask again, this time it did arrive. The foods its self was very well presented but I found lacked seasoning, I had the rossoto, was plentiful but bland to had to add pepper, salt and parmesan. The actual restaurant setting is very nice, the staff seem very busy and hard working. In my opinion this good be a very nice restaurant with some tweets. On summary nice setting, average Italian food, average price, average service.

Seated outside sadly not as described on the phone, inadequate heating, inadequate wind shelter. Poor service other than one Italian lady who was so apologetic, cold food, sent back twice, staters and main. Made to pay upon ordering and made to feel like the ones who didn’t deserve a seat at the table. So sad as I’ve over the years enjoyed many visits here. I think if you don’t really want to make the outside tables feel welcome, don’t offer the service, after all we’d have much preferred indoors and we paid the same as everyone else. Thanks for making our wedding anniversary so memorable!

We phoned on the 13th May and booked a table for 4 on the 30th May @17.30 on arrival we where told there where no tables available not even an apology.

First visit to Mario's tonight for a birthday takeaway, it definitely won't be our last visit. Excellent service both when ordering over the phone and on collection. We arrived a bit early so they brought the food out to the car for us when it was ready (exactly when they said it would be). Lovely food, thoroughly enjoyed by us all.

We booked to go in April when you could eat outside. I am coeliac so was a little nervous as to what I could order. However the staff were extremely knowledgeable and there was a great choice available to me. In fact the GF garlic bread is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Sorry remembered when I was nearly finished to take a picture as it was so nice! There was no food left on any of our plates even the kids thoroughly enjoyed it.Service was exceptional. All precautionary Covid measures were in place. Cannot wait to go back to this restaurant

Amazing as always!!This was our second time visiting Mario’s and WOW again!! We are never disappointed. There wasn’t one thing we could complain about. The seafood selection for starter was delicious, and the lobster ravioli was to die for... highly recommend!!And OH Carolina!! She makes our visit extra special, she’s always happy to talk, make you laugh and nothing is too much for her. She is an absolute credit to this restaurant and definitely makes us want to go back again and again.

Garlic bread very nice.Mains were delicious but disappointing portions.Fillet steak was definitely smaller than on previous visits, size and shape made It look like one steak that had been cut in half.Came away feeling ripped-off, very sad as drove 2 hours to eat.

It’s clear when you visit Marios that you are going to have a good dining experience.From the moment myself partner and some friends entered the business we were wowed! Extremely Clean and decorated superbly with an open plan design including a view of the kitchen which I think really adds to the experience as you can see that the food is prepared fresh. All the chefs in impeccable uniform really makes me feel comfortable when eating somewhere. The waitress Carolina took us to our table very promptly due to COVID 19 and was made aware of the safety measures in place. All of the front of house staff in Marios were wearing the same uniform giving the place an extra level of class! We ordered wine and water for the table which was priced extremely well for the quality of the wine! We ordered our food and what came out was nothing short of outstanding I had the code fresh (mussels) these were probably some of the freshest tasting mussels I have had in a restaurant in England as they are always normally frozen. Everyone else’s meals were to an extremely high standard! For the main I had the lobster ravioli which was on the specials board and I was not disappointed. Everything for our table was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Another thing to mention is the quality of the coffee that they serve as my biggest bug bare is terrible coffee at an Italian restaurant! The overall dining experience at Mario’s that night was superb all of our tables expectations were exceeded and we will be revisiting!If you want a Italian restaurant that offers extremely good quality excellent service at an absolute steal of a price visit Mario’s you will not be disappointed!

Visited tonight. Had garlic mushrooms and prawns for starter. Bland. Like dish water. Garlic bread with cheese. Passable. Then had the crab and prawn pasta which tasted of nothing. Only ate half. Risotto with scallops and chicken. Tasted of nothing. Must of used water as opposed to stock. Chicken with asparagus was tough and tasteless. Dirty fries tasted of nothing. Carbonara and lasagna were fine. Just. Service and location is nice but the food was shockingly bland. Unbelievable to make those dishes without any flavour or seasoning.Asked for feedback. Told them 3 dishes (at least) were bland and we left majority of it. Said “all we can do is pass it on to the chef!” No apology, no resolution, waste of time. Felt bad complaining due to discount with eat out to help out but it was poor, very poor. Had tastier food at Wetherspooons.

Its obvious to me that the only possible way that this establishment has got a rating above 1 star is from the eponymous Skegness clientele that wouldn't know a decent Italian meal if it hit them on the back of the head. The seafood linguine was so overdone, I didn't know whether to eat it or use it as a spare inner tube for my mountain bike. Drier than the Sahara desert, I had no option but to send it back.Three different servers all did their best to ignore us and provide zero customer experience.Please don't judge Italian food by the junk this place is serving up. When done correctly its a taste sensation unrivalled by any cuisine in the world.Overpriced, poorly cooked, rubbish service, and that is being kind.

This is our first time back since the lockdown. It was so nice to see Mario, Holly & their staff again. We had a fantastic meal, I had calamari, followed by sea bass with prawns in a lovely sauce, my husband had what he said was the best ever mussels, then the same sea bass.Also had profiteroles. They were taking the cleaning very seriously in view of covid, we felt very safe & comfortable. Many thanks. Carole & Doug Ayton

What a place Mario’s is! When you first walk into the restaurant you are greeted by fantastic decor and friendly staff. Social distancing is adhered to, and there was plenty of space between each table.We were served by a 2 young gentleman (who’s names we didn’t get) and Carolina.... well this woman is a credit to this place!! We laughed, we felt welcome, and nothing was too much for her. She was amazing! Now the food.... well this was fantastic! We all had something different so I could get photos of all of it! And wow, the presentation to the quality of the food was out of this world. This was me and my fiancés first time at Marios, my friends have been before, and we will definitely go again whenever we’re in Skegness. Top restaurant with top staff! ❤️

We found this place on google search and glad we did, the food is really good but as we arrived it was fairly busy so a good sign, but then was told no lager on draught they had run out, the good news was we could have Peroni in a bottle which was probably same price but half the amount , then they added 2 extra puddings and a bottle of wine to the bill which we didn’t have , 2nd time in 3 days at restaurants this had happened , I would advise to everyone check your bill That aside food was amazing and would return if visiting again

Lovely meal at Mario's. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was cooked nicely and delivered to the table in good time, the wait was not long and we had a starter whilst we waited. The time between the 2 was perfect.

Lovely and clean inside. Very friendly staff . Covid restrictions followed! Ordered starters, took a long time coming though! Absolutely delicious when they arrived! Mains followed and also delicious. Very popular restaurant.

We have just enjoyed an amazing birthday meal for my husband at the restaurant. Can’t applaud the staff enough for their professionalism! First time we have been for a meal since February and felt extremely safe. The staff are so attentive especially the Italian lady lovely to have someone so passionate about her country and produce. Would be back in a heartbeat! Really recommend the ribeye steak with the Dijon sauce and the tiramisu plus a bottle of chanti to finish everything off!

We were visiting our Friends in Skegness last Wednesday and they had arranged for us all to go to Marios. We had high hopesThe table we had was behind the bar and a large party was in, unfortunate we couldn’t hear each other, all other tables were taken.Three of our dishes were not good. The Lasagna has no meat between the pasta sheets, just poured over the top of them all. Another dish described as being baked was not, again just tomatoes poured over the top. A chicken dish was just hot enough. All plates were cold and food not piping hot.We did mention this on the way out and got shrugged shouldersTheir reply in writing was that their food is cooked to the highest standards. There was a large crowd in and I suspect they were cutting cornersWe will give the other Italian restaurant a try next time. Needles to say our hosts were highly embarrassed

We visited Marios's for the first time having just moved from Essex to Skegness, I read the previous reviews and dedided to book a table for 4, we were not dissapointed from the moment we were seated at our table to the time we left. Everything about the meal was outstanding, attention to detail was superb, the staff couldnt have done more, well done Mario's, we will certainly be coming back very soon.

We decided upon a last minute new years trip to Skegness and found Mario's on TA. It had good reviews so we booked and got the last table at 9.30. We picked 2 starters from the specials, the baked mussels and garlic mushrooms with prawns. I took some pictures which I have uploaded. The baked mussels were genuinely fantastic. As was the other starter but the mussels were my fav. My wife ordered pasta and I ordered a pizza for my main, although given the quality of the starters I wish I had ordered the steak. My pizza was delicious, a lovely thin crispy base with plenty of fresh flavour. For dessert we got the sampler and each of the items hit the spot without being sickly or too heavy. All in all I really enjoyed my meal and would happily return again!

This is a gem of a restaurant. The food was outstanding, and the service genuinely friendly - despite the staff catering for a full house. Will definitely return.

Christmas eve meal with my husband. Once again a fabulos meal. perfectly cooked, service wonderful. I just love this place.

Came at 21:30 on the 14th with my friend. It was very busy and noisy as expected with large work parties out for Christmas. We shared a bottle of wine which was really nice. The food was outstanding!!! I was very very impressed. I was sad once I finished as it was so delicious.I'm visiting a friend and she recommended coming here and I will definitely be back. A works Christmas meal for over 50 of us.... And have to say, the service was outstanding. Correct orders delivered in a timely fashion. Given the numbers, the staff were super. The food quality was above average. Well prepared, well presented and good flavours. Portion sizes a little small. But as this was a 3 course meal. Certainly sufficient. The venue was clean. Toilet facilities clean and adequate. Not a low budget venue. Would recommend for special occasions.

1st time at Marios and definitely not the last. Modern romantic settings...helpful friendly staff...great food and wine. Of you are not big eaters then the antipasto for 1 person is ebough for 2. The house red is very light delicate and full of flavour. I had the scallop and chicken risotto...WOW out of this world...my partner had Canneloni and gives it a 10 out of 10. Mario himself is present friendly and attentative. If you enjoy italian food at its best then this is the place for you.

Went here twice last week with my family and grandchildren. My son who is in a wheelchair was treated with respect and they always made sure the chair was removed at the table. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere so very Italian, which we loved. The food was fantastic and authentic. They had a disabled toilet and the entrance totally accessible. Loved it that much we went twice. Can't wait to go ahead. Thank you.

Just miles to skegness and thought i would try and find a good pizza place and we found Marios and omg that was the best pizza i have ever had, definitely will be coming back for more in the future

Lovely restaurant , good staff.

The food was very good everything very fresh and very well presented. Staff very friendly and check on you to make sure your happy with your meals etc. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because we had to sit at a bar table and stools as the restaurant was really busy. And they had run out of a few of the Gin’s I had picked. I would recommend this restaurant but I would advise you book a table as the restaurant is small inside.

Been twice as live local. Food excellent. Not too badly priced. Service is good. Fairly good atmosphere. Not my favourite Italian.

Very nice people and in the main very nice food. Our main of Crab ravioli in a cream chili sauce was in fairness fabulous and very authentic. Desert of Panna cotta was deeply disappointing, it was like a fixed sticky jelly clinging to the inside of your mouth, it's a shame they hadn't taste tested and removed it from the menu. I would give them the benefit of the doubt and return before offering the chef a lesson in how to make Panna Cotta.

2nd visit. Food was very good, didn’t have mussels. We had a nice family meal. Food was quick, customer service was good. Good addiction to skegness. We will return.

our visit was up to the usual excellent standards, food, service, atmosphere were all perfect and the vegetarian options very good.

Booked table for 3 for birthday celebration. Starters ordered pear and goat cheese salad which was so small it was barely 2 or 3 mouthfuls, the hot Advocardo was not hot, main course the vegetarian pancake was like warm, the 3 cheese pizza was soggy doughy thick and really unpleasant, the vegetarian risotto was barely warm and congealed. The garlic bread whilst hot was dry and tasteless. The service was very poor. In fact this was such an awful experience we didn't dare risk a sweet. This is a restaurant NEVER to be repeated. Had it not been my mum's birthday and she didn't want a fuss I would have made a real issue about this appalling experience.

We have been to Mario's multiple times, as a large booking (12 adults and 2 children), as a couple, with friends and we have never had a bad meal/experience. We are gluten free (with members of our families and some of our friends being the same) and it's our go to for a beautiful meal.

Food in Mario's is very nice the staff are friendly but you dont get much for your money and leave still hungry

Food here very good and staff friendly and helpful. We also had the house white wine which not only went well with meal it turned out that you got a litre instead of the usual 750cl which was very good value

The quality of food was not questionable however the attitude of the owner is questionable We waited a long time to be served and have our order taken l even has to ask for the wine list over 45 minutes of waiting. We did not get our meal till 9pm having been shown to our table at 8pm. We complained and was told that our bill will be looked at only to be told by the owner would we like free complementary drinks on our way or £5.00 off the bill which we felt was unacceptable. We paid the bill and my husband expressed his dismay positively but the owner was very rude stating she did not want our kind in her restaurant and this is not a fast food restaurant. Does she think we are so stupid to think so. We appreciate it was very busy that night if she had communicate this prior we would have understood.

Went to Mario's for the first time on Saturday night. Food was fantastic, staff could not do enough for you. The best Italian meal I have had for a long time. Would highly recommend it. Special mention to Catarina.

lovely meal. friendly staff. We ate from the Specials Board. Seated quickly but waited a while for someone to ask us if we wanted a drink . And we did have quite a long wait for food to arrive. Also we were so squashed & table was too small to accommodate water pitcher, glasses, wine carafes dishes etc. But we did enjoy the food & atmosphere. would go again but would ask for larger table.

By far the best restaurant we have been to in the area. Steak cooked to perfection, sauces on salmon was both complex and yummy. I will be back frequently.

Every time we come it is always exceptional food and service, great lay out and decor. Staff very helpful and friendly. By far the best italian and restaurant around Skegness area. Never disappointed. Great value for money as everything is cooked fresh and ample portion sizes.

First time visit for a group of eight. From start to finish everything was excellent the welcome the staff the cleanliness the ambiance but the food was just outstanding. Will be returning often as we could have all eaten many thinks of the restaurant and specials board.

This place had a fantastic atmosphere and was busy all night long. The choice of food was extensive and had something for everyone. I recommend the mussels, they were large and tasty in a beautiful tomato sauce. We were a party of six and all the food was excellent, the service was a little slow, but it was very busy so understandable. We had a great night and we be back again.

Meal was excellent I had chicken and asparagus it was outstanding. T bone steak is for those with a large appetite . Service with a smile they could not be more helpful.

What a lovely authentic Italian restaurant this is, food was excellent in quality and taste.

Pleasant restaurant and the food was nice but I really didn’t think it was child friendly at all - there’s no children’s menu & no effort really made to make children welcome.

Staff are very friendly, there is a wait for your meal after ordering but it's worth it the food is lovely. A customer complained next to us and made a scene but Mario dealt with it calmly then when the customer finely left after refusing to pay his bill Mario went to customers tables and apologised for the disturbance.

Upon speaking to the owner regarding my over-cooked lamb and under-cooked, cold vegetables he mocked me at the table, chewing on my broccoli and repeating “its al-dente sir” so that I was unable to get a word in. I was then confronted by him in the bar area. He made a big fuss of screwing up my bill and tossed it across the room... he shouted “there you go, now get your Mrs and p**s off!” We left the restaurant, humiliated and angry, my partner in tears. Needless to say I won’t be returning.

Food was ok but nothing special, but restaurant is very noisy don't expect a quiet meal with Italian music playing in the background here. Every sound seems to echo around the building.

We popped in tonight at 5-45 by 7 it was packed and I can see why 4 of us , platter starter 4 mains , 2 deserts , drinks for £73 . Superb food and service you can see professional owners run the restaurant. Well done . If near Skegness you must go Stuart Matthews . Nottingham

Lovely restaurant and red wine, hubby steak, chicken pasta tomatoe cream sauce was fantastic with veg. Good service and excellent venue, definitely recommend this restaurant. The reviews speak for themselves.

We visited Marios on Monday 18th of July. We travelled from Lincoln. The journey is well worth it . The food and wine as usual was excellent, the only problem we have is choosing what to have from the menu or specials board. The staff are friendly but professional, Mario is an excellent host . Would recommend this restaurant very highly.

My husband and I booked at last minute so couldn’t get in until 9pm. They were really busy when we arrived so we had to wait for our table. The food was outstanding and great value for money. We would definitely recommend to anyone

We visited this establishment on 10/7/2019 for a family meal.From first entering we was greeted in a very friendly manner.All through the meal the the staff were very attentive.The food was excellent and very reasonably priced.I would definitely recommend this place if your after an authentic Italian meal

Visited Marino’s for a family birthday and what can I say...WOW! And this isn’t the first time we’ve been! Absolutely gorgeous food and such good prices, lovely environment and all the staff were polite, happy to help and made the experience 100 times more enjoyable! 10/10 definitely would recommend for anyone looking for a lovely Italian restaurant!

Stopped off here for a nice meal out whilst visiting Skegness and it’s something I’d come back for. Food was immaculate, service was next to none and the place was spotless - including toilets! Highly recommend!

Been to this restaurant many times before and really enjoyed the experience, tonight we walked in it was very busy and had a big table of 16 people with children, it was very noisy. We had to wait 45 mins for our starters to arrive, the garlic bread was like cardboard but we waited so long we had to eat some of It. Then we waited another 30 mins for the main course to arrive. The main course was excellent, we noticed mario had left the front of house and had to go into the kitchen to cook the meals then the meals started to arrive more quickly.

Very impressed with the food and service. Highly recommend Italian restaurant. Pretty amazed! our party usually complain about anything!

A walk out of town, a few minutes by car. Excellent service and food, well worth the walk (a bit further than we thought). A nice buzz to the place, and Mario himself can be congratulated in person too. Well done!

I called Marios for a table for two & was offered one for 8.30pm, it was ready when I arrived, the place was very busy with it being bank holiday weekend & a little noisy. The service was very good & our wait for food not too long. Our starters were not the best I have had but still nice, garlic bread, fish platter & a sardine dish, mains were very nice, salamon pasta, lasagne & propper chips. Very pleasant! but no wow. We visited early on Sunday with our friends and their two children on their wedding anniversary. The black linguine,mussels,steak and chicken were faultless. It is always top draw cooking and we are so blessed to have this place on our doorstep

Went to Mario's with the girls from work last night and had a lovely meal. I had my first risotto with scallops and it was delicious (2 others had this too), the others had pasta with salmon, ravioli with pumpkin, and a chicken with mushrooms. All lovely then fantastic puddings all round and coffees. Very reasonably priced for what we all had. The staff were really GOOD, didn't feel rushed at all. Will definitely be back again sooner rather than later!

If you like Italian this is for you..mixed starter ( anti pasta ) brilliant..pizza and steak both great ..strongly recommended..great value for money

Went with my wife and two 7 year olds. We had a mix of pasta and pizza meals and all were spot with great service.

We visited Mario's on a busy Easter Saturday evening on our anniversary. It was very busy despite being open about half an hour. The manageress managed to squeeze us in promising the table for an hour which was reserved for other diners. We gratefully accepted the offer. The staff are excellent and are hard working. The kitchen is an open one and the chefs can be seen working and the fresh produce they use on show. The food is excellent, delicious and well presented. We offered to have our dessert at a high table nearer the bar as our table was reserved for other diners and our offer was appreciated as the other diners arrived five minutes later.

Food was divine, as was the sevice & ambiance, couldn't fault anything! Highly recommended, will be back soon.

Every time we come here we are welcomed like old friends. The service is exceptional. Sugar and her friends look after us all with expertise and politeness. The food is of the highest standard and never disappoints. Mario has got the menu down to a tee something for everyone. Great night every time. A must visit

Went for a retirement meal with friends from work . Food was excellent (not cheap but definitely worth it) staff friendly and professional. We will be returning.

been recommended to this restaurant last year I am glad we went. The welcome was first class by a young lady who had a smile that would light up any room lovely. The food from the starter to the desert was outstanding both in presentation and taste.The fillet steak was cooked to perfection and the brandy sauce was to die for (can I have a jug of it next time please). on our second visit a few weeks later the same waitress welcomed us showed us to our previous table (which we asked for on our first visit)and still had that beaming smile although it was quite busy and only two providing table service.She remembered our drinks order that we had on our previous visit (amazing) and the food was just as outstanding as on our first visit. we tried another Italian restaurant near the sea front but totally regretted it and wished we had come here instead. it will be Marios for us every time

We arrived into Skegness on an evening, a bit tired and hungry. We found Mario's and thought we'd give it a go. We weren't disappointed.

Amazing food and atmosphere, not on the cheap side, but worth it. Only issue was is was a little cramped, a few too many tables.

Always a lovely meal and attentive staff- pollo Pompeii!! Was a tastebud sensation nice little kick- sides were excellent too- retired to bar for a soft drink at the end of the meal and had an engaging conversation with staff... booked to return in April ... cannot fault this place - clean comfy seating great staff and food... five star experience
