Very disappointing. Long wait for service, had to ask for menu. Long wait again. Food disappointing. Northern Ireland has some of the best meat and vegetables in the Europe. It was not evident when we fined in the restaurant. Such a beautiful hotel why not get a good chef and staff.

Hotel is one of our favourites and we booked a package that included dinner. Really disappointed with meal in Cellar Bar. Poor choice on menu. We were initially shown into an empty restaurant totally devoid of atmosphere. We asked for a table in the bar and this was accommodated. Mediocre food with very little flavour. Dessert was a real disappointment and very poor value for money. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and we're sorry that we entrusted this meal to the Cellar Bar. The hotel however has not disappointed.

Have stayed here several times and love it. Such a beautiful location. Rooms are very nice and we were upgraded to a suite. Food was fantastic but it saddens me to say the service has deteriorated and the reception we received on arrival was not very pleasant compared to the other visits. Bar staff were not very helpful, we were ask to go to a different bar, downstairs to get cocktails. Hopefully on our next visit this will have improved as it is one of our favourite hotels in N.ireland to visit.

As usual can not fault our short stay at the Manor House. This must have been our 13th or 14th stay in the past ten years. We even booked to come back again in October before checking out. Our two young children (4 and 1.5) absolutely love coming back every time. The TV in the bath is a winner for our daughter. The rooms are amazing, brilliant size, clean and always and abundance of clean towels, tea, coffee etc. All the staff are absolutely fabulous and go over and beyond. It was nice to catch up with Frances, Gérard and Tommy again whom we have got to know over the years. We look forward to seeing you all again in October for another break away from reality. We wish the new directors every success in the days and years ahead but hope they do not make too many changes to the Manor House as it is simply amazing. The Roy's.

My brother and I had another great stay in a Junior Suite. Views from our room overlooked the beautiful grounds and marina. Loved the leisure facilities. The pitch and putt course was fun. Food was enjoyed in Cellar Bistro. Staff were helpful and friendly here and at breakfast and elsewhere. The icing on the cake was the evening dinner cruise on the Lady of the Lake. Even more memorable because of the amazing evening sunshine and sunset and the commentary by the captain. When our four night stay came to a close it was with a little sadness we had to leave hoping to return again soon. Thanks everyone for making our stay to celebrate my brother’s retirement such a pleasure.

Waited 45 minutes for my order, my friends order arrived within 20mins however we then waited another 20/25 mins. When it did arrive it was half the size of my friends even though we ordered exactly the same thing & it was very different to what l read on the menu! I ended up swapping with my partner & his was bordering on unpleasant. Apparently my wrap had fallen apart, hence the wait, however my wrap was literally the size & looked like,a child had put it together. I will never be back & l informed the waitress the wrap was really unpleasant.

We were welcomed by Erica on the reception desk who was a gem. We asked for a free upgrade which she accommodated but then we realised we wouldnt have a bed each so we stuck with the room we had booked which was a family executive suite. Check in wasn't until 4pm but our room was ready for 2pm and we were able to use the spa prior to check in which is becoming quite rare to find! Also check out wasnt until 12pm but you could stay in the spa after check in as long as you liked. A real treat!! Rooms: Large bathroom with amazing power shower. Huge bedroom with two king beds which were incredibly comfortable. Beautiful view overlooking gardens and fountain (which lit up at night). Food: Breakfast: Super selection. Silky smooth porridge was one of the best ive had. Also smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were delicious. Eggs were perfectly cooked. Lunch in Cellar bar...lovely food and so reasonably priced! Dinner was included....3 course meal in fine dining restaurant and it really was fine dining. Absolutely 1st class food. Couldn't fault it. Spa Treatment: Had a bamboo swedish massage. Never experienced this before. It was very different and I loved it. Usually in a spa, it is difficult to get a massage that is firm pressure but Linda listened to what I wanted and it was probably the best massage ive had in a spa. Relaxation room after was lovely. Leisure facilities: Loved the outdoor hot tub and indoor jacuzzi. Good sized steam room and sauna. Nice pool but a little small. The Leisure area is probably the only place I could find fault....a little dated and apart from 3 (heated!) loungers...no where just to lie and chill. Staff: Were all so friendly and helpful. We got an absolute bargin, winter warmer deal: £165 pp for 2 night stay with breakfast and 3 course evening meal and £30 credit. Loved every minute and will definitely be back!!

Hi, My wife and I returned from a two night stay at the Manor House. I’d like to start by saying that the hotel and surroundings are absolutely lovely! The staff at breakfast and the food were also lovely! That being said the room wasn’t so lovely. To start when we arrived it felt like we had been thrown up into the attic. We arrived to the room and there seemed to be a crowd of housekeepers outside the door. When we went in we could straight away hear everything that was going on outside (passing traffic, water fountain, wind etc). That aside when we got settled I was on trip advisor looking to see if anyone had talked about use of the spa. We weren’t sure that we had access to the spa as we didn’t have robes in our room. I phoned reception early evening and asked if robes should have been left in the room and they said yes and that they would have them sent up. These did not appear! We said to house keeping the next morning who told us they would try and get us some but they hadn’t arrived back in yet! The following morning, as our breakfast was booked for slightly later (10:30) we decided to lye on. We were woken just before 9 by what seemed to be a housekeeping gathering/meeting outside our door. Other points on the room were that the towel radiator in the bathroom didn’t work nor did the main light in the room itself. Just small things that I feel should have been working in a 4 star hotel. On our second evening it was quite stormy to the extent that again we could hear all the that was happening outside. Also I was woken several times in the night by the wind humming through the window frames and something squeaking on what seemed to be the roof. It’s so frustrating when you come from a stressful job to somewhere to relax and don’t get a good nights sleep. The wind was coming through the window that much that you could feel the draught and the curtains moved. After been woken up several times durning the night, to top it off we were woken again by what sounded like a delivery lorry reversing at 7:30am. The hall on that top floor also could do with some sort of heating because you can feel the cold as soon as you come out of the lift I myself am a school teacher and my wife an A&E nurse and I must say we were disappointed with our room. We just didn’t have the relaxing stress free stay that we had hoped. When we went to check out I was waiting for the receptionist to ask me how our stay was so that I could tell her. She did not even ask!! Hence why I have taken the time to write this email. (room 610)

Back to the Manor House for another family break. As usual a warm welcome at check in with efficient and helpful service. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We slept very well despite daily weddings! I would have to note my concerns re mask wearing throughout the hotel. Staff were generally excellent but guests and in particular wedding guests were milling about public areas with no thought of masks or fellow guests. On the subject of staff I have to commend the enthusiasm and helpful attitude of the mostly young and somewhat inexperienced staff. We ate twice in the cellar door bar and on both occasions thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with good food and service. Overall an enjoyable stay and looking forward to a return visit.

Called in to Manor House hotel for a late lunch, apart from a bottle of hand sanitiser by the entrance there was no PPE worn by the staff who constantly got far too close, the plate that my food was served on was black in colour, I think this helped to disguise that it was also dirty, the toilets had not been properly cleaned, yes they had done the basics like cleaning the toilet bowl but they had not cleaned the doors, walls, cistern, handles, dryer etc. All of the waiters are young people, mostly teenagers, if they catch the disease it will probably be just like a summer chill, I am 70 if I get it, it will kill me, will I return NO not now not ever.

I have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions and have found it to be fantastic so when we went recently after lockdown I was looking forward to the experience. Maybe the issues have been sorted now but we waited 1 hour 15 minutes for our starter accompanied by like warm white wine. The waiter who was experienced seemed embarrassed by this service. The food was good but over 2 and half hours for the meal was a bit slow. I will try again as this is a really good restaurant with fantastic staff with a few post lockdown issues.

Visited here as part of a group. Had booked by telephone but when arrived a waitress told us there wasn't a booking for us. The waitress give us a menu then told us we couldn't order from the other menu. When we looked into the poi t of the other menu it turns out the standard/typical menu is not available to larger groups (there was 9 of us). The waitresses attitude was very off putting and we were considering leaving. A young man who I assume was the manager (dressed in black suit, dark hair and had a beard). Came to our table and was a real pleasure and a credit to the hotel/restaurant, so a big well done to him. He couldn't do enough for us and was great with the kids. The quality of the food was good, not a large quantity of food on the plates (if that's your thing), service was quick, the atmosphere in the cellar is very nice but we did think it was a little expensive for what you get on the plates (but the quality is good). If you are staying at the hotel or passing it is worth a visit but I wouldn't be travelling out of my way to it for lunch.

We chose this venue carefully for a reunion after considering the Lough Erne resort and Killyhevlin. What a wrong decision! We were really disappointed by the attitude and unprofessionalism of the member of staff dealing with us. One member of the party had dietary requirements which had been explained to staff when booking and were indeed typed on the page when we checked in for Afternoon Tea. As soon as it was delivered to the table, we tried to explain that the top layer of the cake stand had not been altered to cater for the dietary needs. The waiter was arrogant and unhelpful and tried to tell us it was fine ... there was only a little of the allergen in it !!!! HOWEVER, “A little” would be enough to send for an ambulance!!!!! In the end the member of our party only ate bread products.... nothing sweet was suitable. This lady has had so many positive experiences in other hotels and even gave the waiter an example of what she could eat e.g a shortbread biscuit, but nothing arrived! The pots of tea were cold after about 20 mins and one of us eventually got a fresh pot when we more or less pleaded for it. We have never complained in our long lives and have done lots of eating in lots of establishments! What a shame our reunion was spoiled by arrogance. Thanks to Ollin Beattie being so understanding and lovely, we got a reduced bill. A true gentleman.

I am not sure what has happened to this hotel since last year but it has changed not for the better! The reception staff are very unfriendly, a smile would be nice and a helpful attitude would be good..The room was far too warm with only a desk fan to try and cool it, we had to run it all through the night so sleep was not that easy. We dined downstairs in the restaurant bar which was very very disappointing indeed! Service was slow and unprofessional, the food was terrible, the chicken strips that one of the children had were so tough and over cooked he couldn’t eat them! The other child’s pizza/ flatbread was microwaved and horrible. My steak was not cooked the way I had asked and was well done and not very nice. I really can’t believe the awful experience we had after a lovely stay last year hence our return. Simply disappointed.

Myself and my husband have stayed in Manor House a few times, mostly as wedding guests and once with our daughter who was a baby at the time. It had previously been a good place to stay and I had found the staff very friendly and helpful. It’s not overly luxurious, but it’s so clean and the food was fantastic. We are booked for our friends wedding next month (August) and we have a 6months old baby who has some health complications and can’t have him too far away from us, so we need to bring him and our nanny to take care of him. I called to book an additional room so that my son so we could be close to him as and when he needs us, the “front of house manger” Siobhan took my call... her lack of manners was disgusting and her obnoxious and entirely patronising attitude was disgraceful, she has really disgraced the brand of the hotel with this terrible attitude. Rooms are available but can only be sold for a two night stay and even changing my already booked room to a suite or something to accommodate all of us is also not an option. There was absolutely no way of working around this, not one suggestion was offered and everything I said was answered with the exact same response, “we can only sell rooms for two nights” just on repeat. When I asked to speak with a manger, this lady claimed she was the manger... when asked to speak to the actual general manager... it was just as simple as, he’s not here. I wouldn’t even tell the bride this is how her guests are being treated ahead of her big day, she choose this hotel as she clearly has such confidence in, what a dampener that put on her upcoming wedding. This is my first experience being treated so poorly by a member of staff like this, my husband and I are considering cancelling our current reservation and staying in the Lough Erne which we go on a regular basis and is quite close by, the staff always go above and beyond to meet all requests and are so pleasant and welcoming... I highly recommend it! We need to be close to our son.

I recently visited the hotel for a work conference, it rates as one of the nicest hotels in one of the most beautiful locations I have visited in many years. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated and the view was breathtaking. The staff were friendly and helpful, not in the impersonal way of city hotels, which made the interaction seem warm and personal. The restaurant served food of a much higher quality than I have typically come to expect in Northern Ireland. The interior of the hotel is simply magnificent, it is worth visiting just to marvel at the architecture. From a business conference point of view, it was a wonderful venue as everyone in the company felt that it was a significant treat to spend time in such a special place. From a budget point of view, the prices were very reasonable. An easily overlooked place is the bar in the cellar, it is also really worth visiting, it serves food in addition to a good range of beers.

Party of four. We took a friend to lunch and we're very disappointed. The lunch menu in the bar was unexciting. I asked if there was a restaurant menu but there wasn't. We all had the steak sandwich. The steak was cold. The dressing was extremely spicy hot. We were hungry so we ate it but we were all disappointed. I personally would have complained but for the sake of our friend I didn't want to make a fuss. I have eaten good food here in the past and that is why I suggested this venue. The lunch menu should be revised and a special of meat veg and potatoes should be offered.

I ate dinner here with a group of friends before going on to a wedding reception in the hotel. The only faults I had was there was very little choice on the menu, we were looking for a bit more than pub grub. I got the burger and skinny fries and would definitely get it again as a bar snack on a more casual night out but for something more than pub grub then the Beleek restaurant upstairs would be more suitable. In saying that, we all enjoyed our burgers and fish and chips and there was clean plates all round! We stayed for a few drinks after dinner and the bar itself is really nice and plenty of seating. You pay hotel prices for the drinks though so I probably wouldn't spend all night there.

Went for a quick lunch with my girlfriend. The bar was not the lightest but you'd expect that from a cellar bar! It was pleasant surroundings and the food (steak sandwich) was good. Service was reasonable too: could have been slightly quicker. Price was the dearer end of reasonable if you see what I mean. No problem with going back - the Belleek restaurant looked nice and the upstairs bar did too. I have eaten in the large downstairs restaurant before too where the food was fine.

This time we spent time on a cruiser and visited the hotel for coffee, dinner and to use the swimming pool. We have issue with the latter. For 3 adults and one child it cost me £48 total including purchase of hats. I would not have paid it only my grandson (6) would have been very disappointed. This is a ridiculous price for a swim.I was also disappointed with the service within the hotel. I learn that the hotel has gone through a number of General Managers. I know this because I inquired after a very good guy who left them surprisingly. This turnover shows in the quality of the team. We were not impressed.I hope it gets fixed as we have been here a lot over the last number of years.

This is a review of the Bellek restaurant in the Manor House Country Hotel. We ate there on one evening of a two night stay. It's a lovely setting with a view over the lake. The restaurant is squarely aimed at the fine diner - not something we do a lot of. The waiter took the napkin and put it on my lap - I think the last time that happened to me it was by my mum but she might have tucked it under my chin! Without going into detail of every course it's fair to say the food was very good and great care had been taken in the presentation. Staff were maybe a wee bit too keen to ask if everything was alright having been asked maybe 6 times. An experience we both enjoyed.

Decided to eat in the cellar restaurant - nicely kitted out and tables not on top of each other - The hens egg starter with black pudding was tasty as was the mushroom dish with sourdough The battered fish would have fed two . Well it actually did . The burger tasted like vegetable roll and was a big disappointment . Enniskillen boasts probably the best butcher in Northern Ireland . Maybe a visit might help. Just stayed last night as a birthday treat from my girlfriend, hotel was spotless and very impressive and staff all very friendly with quick service unlike some other posts indicated. The spa facilities were fantastic, clean and a great range and choice, we stayed in room 106 the junior suite and it was only a 30 second walk to the spa and stunning views, over all this is a fantastic hotel "but" the clothes hanger in the wardrope in our room had the bar missing and caused a scrach on my arm as the mental pins did point out on it, secondly the window leaked on the frame when it rained but wasn't a excess of water and some shoddy workmanship on the handle and screws and finally we ate in the restaurant on the Thursday night and unfortunately I ordered the pork belly which was honestly covered in 95% fat and 5% meat, a very poor quality cut for the price and very very bland. I would advise you of the reaction of staff members on all these issues but being honest I mentioned nothing to them as my girlfriend works hard for her money and the entire meal and booking was paid for by her and I didn't want her to think that I wasn't happy or disappointed in anyway. Again this is a great hotel but if management read these comment hopefully a few tweaks would have made me publish a 5 star !

Twenty minutes drive north of Enniskillen on the shore of upper Lough Erne surrounded by a golf course this historical estate house has been extended to its present four star hotel. The pleasing architecture continues indoors with magnificent ceilings cornices, staircase and wood panelling. An old world feel that is immediately calming. The bedrooms are luxurious, spacious with a large bathroom and countryside views. There are lots of different rooms around reception and the bar ideal for a quiet chat or by the fire. A second restaurant in the cellar is not as pricey as the fine dining room but still high quality. Night time live music is in the cellar bar. Dinner bed and breakfast for one sharing was £97.50 - an incredible good deal for a Saturday night. Midweek is less. There was a wedding the same night I stayed and it was entirely separate so no noise! Staff were helpful friendly and professional. I would highly recommend and hope to go back in good weather to enjoy a boat trip.

I have never wrote a reveiw in my life but im so embarrassed i had to, My husband booked and payed for me and him my mum and dad and my brother and his girlfriend to go here for my 30th birthday, we where recommended it by the killyhelvin as we stay there quite regularly and he wanted to take us somewhere special and new for my 30th,he rang and explained it was my 30th and a gift for everyone just before xmas, we arrived at the hotel which looked lovely from the outside we walked in to the lovely smells off a roaring peat fire checked in and went to our rooms through a beautiful corridor the rooms were lovely, spacious and well decorated everyone was happy it went down hill from there to be honest we all went to the spa the smell in the steam room was vile so that was a miss then we went to the outside COLD tub got into the pool which was ok size and warm enough then into the sauna again not warm?? so we spent most of our time in the Jacuzzi the best bit of the spa tbh so on to dinner where do I start we went to the cellar door no atmosphere at all got handed a clipboard with about 4 starters on it and 5 mains awful menu when my husband booked this it stated online that turkey and ham a couple off items for myself as I don't eat meat, there was a burger and chips fish and chips and a noodle dish with chicken o yes and a curry and rice if we would of wanted a chippy we would of went to one and im pretty sure it woulnt of cost over a £110 for it no xmas dinner on the menu at xmas or even a sunday roast I asked is there anything vegetarian whats it say in the menu I was told emm It looks like im having the noodles I thought to myself lol not one of us enjoyed that meal told the waitress who was lovely she told us that the menu was recently changed if I was them id change it back then another person came to the table and we explained again about everyones meal he couldn't of cared less and away on he went so by this stage me and my husband we so embarrassed no one was having a good time I actually felt sorry for my husband it was a gift and it wasn't cheap. no even a mention of a happy 30th or a merry xmas from anyone atmosphere was dead no even music until we went and asked at the bar then we went up to the watergate bar it was beautiful again the décor so grand and lovely so went and ordered our drinks 15mins later got them there had to go an d get millar and kopperberg from somewhere the barman was very nice there and we all sit and had a chillout. got up the next morning went to the belleek restaurant for breakfast everyone ordered breakfast and I ordered mine it came with meat and the egg wasn't well done so it was taken away as I don't eat meat it came back and it was still wrong so I didn't even say anything I had ,had enough by this stage, went to check out and the lady asked was everthing ok I said I wouldn't know where to start since no one was interested anyway so we mentioned the menu and other stuff and her reply was the menu with the proper food stops at 3 oclock what good is that when check in is at 4? so all I have to say is the manor house just felt to us all as if your tryin the cut money by cutting corners would never recommend this hotel until the spa and the food where sorted so just bear all this in mind when booking, there done my first ever review because I had to let everyone know.

Ok so the hotel has undergone some cosmetic changes and the health centre is a plus (with outdoor hot-tub), but the standard of room, the professionalism of the staff (all of them) and the quality of dining was just as I remembered and why I wanted to return. Each and every single member of the team treated us as though we were the only people staying, they were fantastic and exuded that warming Fermanagh charm - a lovely spot.

We had booked our second meal in the Beleek restaurant. Second night chicken papardelle which was pasta ,pesto and a piece of chicken which still had a bone in it! Never had this pasta dish served this way before! One of my friends had steak which was ok but the garlic potatoes were inedible due to the fact they were hard in the middle. Very average served in a dimly lit restaurant with a most poor ambience. We stayed here for 2 nights earlier this month – we had been once before a very long time ago and not surprisingly found it very much changed. Our ‘classic’ room was on the top floor with a dormer window overlooking the lawns running down to the road. While the room was not large it was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. Our first evening meal in the Cellar Door Bar & Bistro was disappointing. We both fancied steak and chips. The steak on the menu came on a bed of mash and with pepper sauce. We asked if we could have chips instead of the mash – and the waitress said no problem – but that is literally what we were served – a steak on top of chips which were in the pepper sauce (with a few more chips on the side)! It was most unappetizing - and to add insult to injury our sirloins were neither tender nor flavoursome. On the other hand the chef in the Belleek Restaurant is very innovative and our dinner there the next evening was very good indeed, as were our two breakfasts.

A beautiful setting for a hotel on the edge of Lough Erne for a relaxing and romantic break for two away from it all. We booked a two night stay which included a meal in the Belleek Restaurant and Boat Trip around the Lough.Check in was simple enough and our room was superb. I especially liked the radio in the bathroom linked to the one in the main room. The meal in the Belleek, sat in the conservatory, overlooking the Lough was stunning - beautifully presented food and extremely flavoursome - highly recommended you try it.The boat trip around the Lough was brilliant and the commentary provided by the pilot on points of interest was informative, but not intrusive and the live musician created a brilliant atmosphere - similar to the Belleek, I would recommend you take advantage of the boat cruise if you get the opportunity. My one comment finally would be the system of ordering breakfast in your room - it is not entirely clear how you would order different things for each guest staying the room.My thanks to Brendan, the general manager for making our stay enjoyable one

The surroundings are beautiful, the hotel is kept to the very highest standard and it's a beautiful stately building. Our order was taken and brought to the lounge where we were enjoying stunning views of the lough, boats and in the near distance the golfers! The Americanos were good but the scones were stale! Why, why, why do 4* hotels not serve FRESH scones???? We mentioned to the lovely waitress who was very embarrassed as she had told us they were freshly baked earlier in the morning. They were quickly removed and replaced with scones which had just come out of the oven! We were given fresh coffees. Sadly the fresh scones were if anything worse..( in fact I was so embarrassed that I wrapped mine in my napkin and took it home to the bin!!!) either sort it out Management or stop serving scones! £9.90 is too expensive to squander.

Went with family on New Year's Day. We had a table booked. When we arrived & were seated, a drinks order was taken. It was almost 25 mins later we got our drinks. In the meantime, we had ordered food. We weren't going to order starters but then decided on 2 garlic bread. Thank god we did. From the time our order was taken till we got our main course, an hour & a half had passed. Now I don't blame the staff that were on the floor that day & the food was fine, when we got it, but it's New Year's Day...a manager & 2 waiting staff were all that were on. Had they even just an extra person doing the bar, it would have made all the difference. Being in this industry, I felt for the staff as I know from experience that they are the ones who get the grief from the customer, like they somehow were causing the slow service. There also happened to be a wedding on in the hotel that day, but it's not as if the wedding & New Year's Day just happened as a surprise. They should have anticipated how busy it was going to be & had the kitchen as well as front of house better staffed. All said, the young waitress, young waiter & manager did the best they could & I tip my hat to them...bless them. I actually wanted to get up & help!

Was staying in the Enniskillen Hotel on business for a few days and rather than eat in it, my colleagues decided to dine in the Manor Hotel. Having heard many positive reviews I was looking forward to it. Such a disappointment. We went for the 3 course dinner at £35 a head and for that I expected a lot better. The starter, goat's cheese and beetroot was so disappointing- bland cheese and one little bit of beetroot- exactly as another TripAdvisor diner described. For mains I had roast lamb - 3 noisettes of lamb cooked medium except that one of them was plain old lamb shank dark in colour and stringy. Did they run out of roast lamb and try to supplement it with shank because a blind man would have seen the difference and a paralytic one would have tasted it. For sides we were served simply green beans and 2 ordinary boiled potatoes in their jackets. The sides were served in two plates each with 3 potatoes and beans- I would have expected three people to have been served sides in three separate plates and also to have been served two vegetables. For dessert we all had Baked Alaska which was nice but then you can't go too far wrong with something as simple as Baked Alaska. Waiter service was plentiful i.e. lots of staff, an eclectic mixture of very young and quite old men in their 60s and perhaps 70s, who were attentive in a peculiar old fashioned fussy running about way without being efficient. For example the basic question -is everything to your satisfaction - wasn't to the fore. I have eaten in so many restaurants which would beat the Manor Hotel hands down. Indeed I wish we had stayed and dined in the Enniskillen Hotel as we had done the previous two occasions we were in Enniskillen. Incidentally when I spoke to an acquaintance he told that several older people whom he knew had stayed recently on mid week breaks and they too were unimpressed with the fare.

Last night our family, 21 in all, went out for a meal in the Manor House, Killadeas, to celebrate my mum's birthday. It was to be a surprise "do", so I had to arrange it all from 80 miles away. The Manor House was chosen based on reports from my brother in law, who has stayed there a few times, always reporting positively about the experience, and also because of family history. I grew up just 8 miles from the Manor House and have fond memories of having afternoon tea in it when I was a kid. The place also looks fantastic these days, the upgrading being done with respect to the grand old house itself and yet taking it forwards in a style that just has class written all through it.Prior to arrival the only contact I had with the hotel had been over the phone. Even at this stage I was getting positive signals, no question or request was any trouble whatsoever. Upon arrival a couple of hours prior to the event, I brought in the cake, the staff took it, stored it and talked me through where we were going to eat and what the basic framework for the evening was going to be. All 100% friendly and informative. We were given a room for everyone to meet in prior to the meal, which was a most pleasant surprise, away from the bar and with the most amazing fireplace and decor that just set the form for the evening. The staff had arranged for us to all sit at one huge table and we basically had that end of the restaurant to ourselves. All of the rest of the diners were in the conservatory. The food was superb! I have a tomato allergy and every time something came out the staff knew that I was the person with the allergy, where I was sitting and made sure I got the tomato free food without having to ask who had the allergy. I had ordered hake, which turned out to be cooked in a tomato based bisque(which I did not know at time of ordering), so rather than have me change my order the chef cooked it with a shellfish sauce, which was absolutely magnificent. The staff were great. Angela and Simon especially so as they good humouredly dealt with my allergy, the fluctuating numbers of folks actually requiring food and seats, the serving of the cake and so on. The pace was completely relaxed and the whole event took around 3 hours, which flew in.After the meal we returned to the reading room for the tea and coffee. What a great way to end the evening.I would have to say that the great success for the evening, everybody thoroughly enjoyed being there, the wonderful warm atmosphere, the surroundings, the food, the pace of events and the way the staff worked with us, was down to the quality of staff, both on the floor and in the kitchens. Many, many thanks to all who were involved with the event!!As for value, I would have to say that all things being considered, the food, the service, the use of two rooms(offered without prompting), the setting and so on, that this is the best value for money that I can recall. Outstanding! I would have no hesitation whatsoever recommending the Manor House to anyone. We shall return! Paul Bell

We had to book well in advance due to covid you are not allowed onto island without a booking. Staff were nice and welcoming when you get there. I think they are going for shabby chic look everything different, kind of basic, it must be due to covid that there are nothing on the tables we even had to ask for salt and pepper. Service was good, menu was usual fare for kids nothing different. Usual menu options steak/chips/fish pies, no vegan options, one vegetarian goats cheese which I had, goats cheese was way too much, salad was standard not even a sprinkle of dressing, felt like it was all just thrown on plate. The steak was good cooked well. However the desserts stole the show, the mint cheesecake was really good, fresh and light and the kids loved the brownies. Prices usual that you’d find anywhere. Nice relaxing meal overall.

Once we entered the Diner the welcome we got made us feel very relaxed and that important feeling of being wanted. On looking at the menu we were faced with a variety of food e. g. chicken, burgers, fish, beef, etc. We went for burger, cheesey chip and two fish, all accompanied by homemade chips and onion rings. The only way i can describe what we got was "top class" freshly homemade food. The cod was surrounded in a "batter" the like that I have never tasted. Light crispy and complimented by the quality of the cod which as a result of how it was cooked just broke away in front of your knife. The chips were beautiful golden and cooked to perfection. There onion rings were made in the same high quality batter and just brought this ordinary meal to a different level. It is not very often that you find a place where everything comes together in order to make your meal memorable but this was one of them occasions. So if you are ever coming in direction of Fermanagh and it takes you near Ederney please do make a point of calling at the "Diner" you well have an enjoyable experience both on the part of the staff and most definitely the food you will receive. I will also let you into a secret "Don't leave without taking away some of their homemade bread" it is a BIT special. Thanks to all at the "Diner" for a excellent meal and the friendly welcome. R&J.
