Customer service needs to be worked on, had a phone call order, and guy was pretty rude. I wasn’t aware you had to pay cash only, so when I turned up with my card he said I’d have to pay a couple quid extra, but I was charged an extra 5 quid for a £20 order

Everything is just delicious, from the fresh bread to the tradional tea and baklawa. whether you like Turkish food or not, this place is a MUST.

some of the food taste good other parts were mixed. like the chilli sauce and the non existent garlic sauce portion size a conundrum, because even when you order 4 mains it’s only enough for 1 man and a gal at best. so we were still hungry. so if you like to be hungry but like to taste nice food, come here!

Excellent service and delicious food. Ordered the platter; the meat was cooked to perfection and there was plenty for two people to share. Also recommend baklava and coffee for a perfect end to your meal.

Standard Fair. Turkish food in general does not usually disappoint. The food was worth the wait. Very reasonably priced, good portions and great service considering how busy it is.

This is a great little restaurant that offers wonderful meals for those who love charcoal grilled meat. The standard of service and quality has been fantastic for years. As a customer, you want to be able to go back again and again without compromise on quality and Mangal 1 delivers. Be prepared to wait in queues for a table late evenings on weekends. However, it is worth the wait.

Decent meat, but when you go during busy times beware!!! The Adana tasted of chemicals from the coal, I told them green chilis but they put something else on 2 occasion. Hit and miss type of place!

Been to hundreds of Turkish restaurants over the years and Mangal 1 is by far the best. Fantastic food and great service and really reasonably priced. Best baklava I've had in ages and every dish superbly created. Anything from the yogurtlu section is outstanding. Get to Mangal 1... it's a winner!

Asked for a wrap, wanted to eat inside but the man behind the till says I will be charged extra for eating inside as, and I quote, "becuase it's a restraunt". I asked nicely if he already made the wrap, he said no and I walked out. EDIT: Huh? Yes I gave a negative review? Why? Becuase you charge people different depending on weather they eat in or take-away, you're the only "restraunt" that does that.

Best Turkish grill in London easy

This place is great - really authentic and flavourful and big portions. I got the iskender and it was so good. The lahmacun is also tasty and well priced. Lots of bread, sauces, salad etc. always being refilled and the waiters are very attentive. Great place to eat.

We like the food there, but the issue is that the bill comes back with "errors". We got overcharged 6 months ago. Tonight, we came back, paying more attention to the bill, and it came with : chips (3£ in the menu) * 2= 8£. Once it can be a mistake, but twice it's dishonesty.

The locals seem amazed by it, but very plain fare & not a patch on Green Lanes if I'm honest.

The food is very tasty!!! It’s very noticeable that the chefs work from the heart. We ordered mixed kebab for two, the portions were very large, we couldn’t finish it all. The baked eggplant salad and tomato meze (acılı ezme) was just finger-licking😋Honestly, I didn’t manage to eat so deliciously in Antalya! I visited restaurants in both the most expensive and mid-price categories, alas....MUST VISIT!

Yes, that’s Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend behind us! Absolutely loved eating here with my 7 closest friends. Food and dips were impeccable. Service good too. Wanted more of: Tarama, chicken & yogurt dish, Vegetarian Mousakka Wanted less of: Nothing! Will be back.

Easily our go to Turkish restaurant in London! Whilst the sides aren’t great the mains more than make up for it, service is always excellent we never wait long for our food.

Absolutely delicious food, service is nice, chefs are professional. Prices are as they should be, not expensive like other restaurants. It's closed because it's under renovation, I'm waiting for it to open as soon as possible.

Recently came here for a birthday, I called ahead to book but was told being a weekend as it's their busiest time they cannot take bookings which worried me a little due to such a large table, however the front of house were super patient and ensured that if we were happy to wait they would get us in, which they did, despite us taking up half of the front area of the restaurant, above all this the food was delicious and couldn't have asked for a better place to eat for a celebration, aswell as it being priced extremely reasonably! Can't commend enough, thank you guys!

Always check the bill because they try to add money and they try to make you pay quick so you don’t see. Food is ok, a bit too expensive for what it is, used to be the best one. Edit1 - went back and this happened again! Someone needs to do something here

I've never had such a soft Copsis even in Turkey. We loved it and the waiters were incredibly attentive. The Meze platter is sufficient and you can find the varieties on one plate. thank you very much

What can beat a nice kebab after a night out in Dalston?!

Don’t expect anything extraordinary but some of the meats like the spicy lamb and lahmacun are tasty and good quality price ratio overall. Service was average, nothing special (at least they don’t include service charge in the bill!)

This kebab shop is an ordinary place. No frills, fairly standard food. Nothing bad to say bout this restaurant, but it could be alot better. Lovely charcoal grilld kebabs and all the trimmings. But plain, could have lots more flavour, if the meat was marinaded differently.... We're giving Mangal 1 in Dalston 3.5 stars.. overall. Worth a visit, but not exciting food.

Local ideal para ir a comer o cenar con amigos y compartir sus ricos pinchos de carne y sus mezze. Ambiente familiar e informal. Aunque a menudo hay que esperar mesa, se consigue rápido. Los camareros son muy eficaces y simpáticos. Y el precio es estupendo para la calidad de la comida!!! Cada uno puede llevar su propia comida!!!

Ok so went to this place on a quite day so was empty there where like 2 other tables, so I didn't understand why I couldn't just sit where the hell I wanted tryin to corner me with other people when I wanted to be alone, then the whole meal felt like me and my friend where being stared at by the stuff was creepy as hell. Food was great fresh and tasty. But was toooo Creepy eyes up in our business. To actually enjoy our evening. Shame foods desent.

Beyti kuzu sarma was literally tasty!!! Everyone also should experience the mixed kebap that you can eat chicken, beef, and lamb chops and kebabs together. While the service was fast and good, the atmosphere of the venue is quite small and stuffy. Lastly, the salad was simple and good with plenty of olive oil.

The food at Mangal is incredible. One of the best Adana Kebabs I’ve had in my life considering I’ve had a good share in Istanbul, and their food is nothing short of amazing. We were 4 people and we ordered the Mangal Platter 2 which was more than enough without starters. Their complimentary bread was my favorite part! Smokey and so good. It was 80 pounds for the whole dish. We also tried their Baklava and Kunaffa and it was good. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 was area of improvement when it comes to service. We ordered items that never made it to our table but was added to our bill. We ordered water multiple times that also never made it and we gave up and got water from a sainsbury local. We understand that it was a busy Friday night, so will give it another chance on a weekday.

Can’t go wrong with a late night kebab at this place when after-pint munchies hit. Smokey and yummy!

I have been eating my kebab with lavash for the past 20 years, and that is the way to enjoy kebabs. However, just for a piece of lavash, we literally have to beg and try to convince the waiters every single time. I visited three times this month and they always say there isn't enough lavash, and I'm pretty sure they have their reasons. But I don't think this should be my concern as a customer. I won't be visiting again because of this nonsense. It's a shame though, because the quality was way above average, and the staff was always friendly and welcoming. I thought I had finally found "the" kebab place in London.

There's a reason these guys have such a good reputation and people wait for a table. Delicious Turkish food cooked to perfection, fantastic appetizers and all well priced. Living across the road from this place is dangerous!

Small portions, no special bread soaked in meat juices. Rice and bbq onions extra. waiters gave our food to a different table by mistake then tried to serve it on us. chicken was good and tasty. No free tea or baklava. Nice enough but much better and more generous restaurants in the area.

I have ordered food from here over the last 10 years mainly due to its relatively low prices compared to all other kebab houses in the immediate area. However, I have been Iill numerous times after eating here albeit the last time was afew years ago. Food is average at times very salty & tough/chewy with portions reducing in size most recently. The area in which the place is situated is really dirty & quite dangerous as high crime rated area which can be felt as you approach the restaurant.

Top food, ordered one kebab with yogurt for two people, felt like it annoyed the owner but we weren't too hungry so for us it was enough. The food was delicious, the kebab is excellent. don't skip the yogurt. Salad is OK.

We popped in for a late lunch the other day and everything was delicious. Chicken soup was so good and my wife had the veggie moussaka which she said was yummy! Lovely service and a relaxing atmosphere. Oh and don't forget to try the rice pudding 😋 Highly recommend. 5☆☆☆☆☆

The food is amazing, don't get me wrong. However, when we sat down we noticed a table complain that their bill didnt have the right prices. We took a photo of the menu before ordering just incase. When our bill came the prices were inflated by 50p to 1 pound per item. I challenged it and the waiter didn't argue, just crossed off the items and fixed the price and total. I thought this was strange that it happened twice and it seems disingenuous. Poor form from a well known Turkish joint.

Excellent traditional Turkish food everything is cooked fresh to order the flavours are incredible best Turkish food in London hands down the quality and care that goes into the marinades and the actual cooking shows how professional these guys really are can’t wait to return back for a chicken beyti, lamb beyti, lamb chops and the fresh salad bread and sauces would recommended anyone in London to eat here

If you enjoy Turkish food and you love meat, the flavours here will.not disappoint. Usually have take away as the restaurant gets a bit crowded and seats are too close together. OK I'd you like that sort of thing but you will enjoy a take away just the same. The flavours are good, we forget we are not actually in the restaurant. We usually go for the mixed grill to enjoy the flavours that are nicely brought out from each meat variant.

I ordered Beyti and they brought something that is not Beyti. Maybe you can call as Adana. When I said this is not Beyti and I didn’t order this they said they don’t make actual Beyti cause they don’t have a place to wrap it. So why you are putting your menu if you can’t make to actual food? Or when I ordered in Turkish why didn’t say you didn’t make it? I ate something I didn’t order such a disappointing experience and portion was ridiculously small.

Really overpriced for tiny portions. Definitely not a great turkish restaurant. If you want great turkish food go to harringay. The food wasnt bad quality apart from the baklava which was really poor quality.

This was my stand-out restaurant experience over my 6-week holiday in London and Europe. We had to queue, which apparently is every night, but the wait was not long at all. We watched the meats being cooked over charcoal while waiting, which was cool. Incredible atmosphere in the restaurant. Tables are tight, but it isn't a problem and goes with the setting. If you want intimate dining, it's not the place, high-level energy here. The food was absolutely delicious! Most amazing was an eggplant dip. It was creamy and smoky and amazing! Salivating as I write. We had a hommus dip also, a salad and a mixed meat platter. The meat was melt in the mouth. Standout dining!

Just perfect! Amazing and super tasty menu, excellent choice of wines we tried 3 different kinds, all of them absolutely marvelous.Owner knows how to make the clients feel welcome & confortable! Definitely recommend.

One of the best Turkish restaurants in Dalston, our go to now that Hasan has unfortunately closed down.

Something has changed with the food. Lamb wasn't marinated... No flavour. Rice and Bulgar Flavours aren't like it use to be. Server seemed intoxicated. Best dish of the evening was the bread, cucumber and yogurt. I give it 3 stars from cheer loyalty, having eating here for so many years.
