As residents of Peebles, we like to have the odd takeaway now and again. Last weekend we decided to have a meal delivered to us from here. The food and service is excellent. Our delivery arrived 20 minutes after we ordered over the phone. Definitely value for money. We had rice, lemon chicken, crispy chilli beef, beef in black bean sauce, chicken with spicy salt and pepper and sweet and sour king prawns. All for £40. There was loads left over so we had the remainder the following day. Will definitely come back for more. We have been getting takeaways from here for at least 8 years and never found fault with anything.

It’s been many years since I last visited but went with a group of friends recently. Handy location if you’re in Peebles, just off the High Street. Menu is pretty much what you’d expect, with something for almost everyone. We got a number of dishes to share, including a sharing platter of starters, shredded duck and a few mains and noodles. All were good and tasty. Fairly relaxed atmosphere with the staff team pretty chatty. That said, I’m not sure it’s ever really busy although they obviously do a lot of take aways. I do think the overall experience could made a lot better by smartening up the decor inside. Price is pretty good.

Delicious freshly prepared food made with quality produce. Veg Chow Mein was a delight packed with peppers onions mushrooms broccoli and pak choi. Plump juicy chicken in a tangy lemon sauce and delicious tasty duck with pancakes. Generous portions and no wait. Fast efficient service from lovely staff. Well done Mandarin Garden ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What an amazing Chinese takeaway! The food is top quality, fresh and so tasty. It was so good we ate from here two nights in a row and the staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. We will be popping in whenever we are in Peebles! We highly recommend you give Mandarin Garden a try, you won’t regret it!

Found this gem of a Chinese restaurant down a side street in Peebles and glad we did. The place was spotless and the meals we ordered came freshly made and piping hot. I had the Special Fried Rice and my wife the Chicken and beanshoot dish, both very tasty and the portions huge. We had a starter each and we couldn’t finish all the main courses. It’s a must try place if your looking for a quality Chinese restaurant. We will call in again, now we know where it is.

Such a wonderful waiter. He is polite, attentive and efficient. The food was out of this world. Succulent meat, delicious chow mein, ridiculously tasty rice. We got a bottle of rosé wine to pair and it was so good for such a great price. 10/10 recommend this restaurant - easily the best Chinese food I’ve ever had!

Came in for dinner and ordered the salt and pepper ribs for starters: easily the best I've had. Words cannot describe, you'd have to try them. Followed that with the salt and pepper chicken and, again, some of the tastiest I've had. There's some kind of addictive chilli oil thing going on that's super tasty. Other half got the honey chilli chicken which was equally as scrumptious. Highly recommend :)

Lovely takeaway, we had curry king prawn and house survival curry with fried rice and chips, very tasty just way too much especially the chips, was like having two bags for cost of one! One thing to note is they use taxis for delivery service, we were quoted £6 but that dropped a couple of quid as we were near Peebles, just be aware of this, guy who took order very polite

Lovely food and very friendly, warm and attentive service. Our main course was steamed rice, char siew pork with broccoli, chicken with spring onions and ginger, and salt and pepper squid, all of which were excellent. It's very good value for money and definitely worth a visit.

First visit for a takeaway at the Mandarin Garden, we weren't disappointed the food was amazing very hot and tasty, the duck with black pepper sauce was fantastic as was the chicken curry and noodles, very quick service staff were welcoming, warm, friendly and polite. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Bit of an Institution in Peebles Situated just off The High Street ar the foot of Schoolbrae next to Tweed Green. Wheelchair access on ground floor. Very fast turnaround on take-away and friendly and efficient table service. Extensive menu and very reasonable prices. Children welcome.

We had such a fabulous evening here yesterday. Visiting with family from Edinburgh, all we really wanted was an adequate meal with some sweet and sour chicken for our grandson. What we got was an excellent variety of really tasty food (squid, duck, lamb - all delicious). On top of that, though, we received the most delightful service - such fun, entertaining and pleasant people. Any chance you could open in Edinburgh???

Very British style Chinese food, a pretty wide selection, the fried rice was good, the same for the wonton soup. Other dishes were a bit on the sweet and sticky side.

We booked to dine in on a Saturday evening. When we arrived there was a queue of customers waiting to pick up take away orders. Despite being rammed, and us the only dine in customers, we had a fantastic meal. They were attentive and apologised for the delays- even though the delays were not unreasonable. Chicken fried rice, chicken and cashew nut, crispy duck and crispy chilli beef were just some of the amazing dishes we had. Highly recommend.

We walked a fair way to the restaurant only to find its takeaway only. Not difficult to remedy. All they had to do was note this on their website. Poor customer care.

Ordered a takeaway for delivery to hotel. £8 is a bit steep for delivery. Food was average but plentiful. Prawn crackers were soft and disappointing.

Large order for 8 people prepared in just 20 minutes, very good quality food which tasted great. Gluten free customer catered for.

My favourites are RPG chicken fried price and Singapore chow mien, both authentic and extremely tasty, in fact I take three of each to take home a freeze for future use.

This is the only place we didn't get free prawn crackers from after spending over £20 plus for 2 meals

We felt like ordering Chinese food. It wasn’t great. Beef in Oyster sauce tasted fishy and bland. The rest of the food was only just ok.

Traditional style restaurant. Small and plainly decorated - don't be fooled by first impressions!The food is superbly cooked using excellent quality ingredients. The authentic tastes are still in each dish - something missing from a lot of Chinese places these days - no "Brown gravy on everything" here.We ordered House Chow Mein, Yung Chow Rice & King Prawn Foo Yung. All superb.Washed down with a couple of ice cold Chineses beers. £30 for two. Great friendly service.Highly recommended - You won't be disappointed!

Our go to Chinese! The Mandarin Garden is a superb restaurant with delicious food and brilliant service. The staff never fail to make me smile and you can see they care about the food they are serving! I cannot express how much I love this restaurant and I recommend to all!!

First time at the Mandarin Garden and it won’t be our last. Decor may be dated but the service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious and was presented beautifully. Unfortunately I couldn’t eat it all as the portions were huge. I would highly recommend folk to come here.

On a recent short break to Peebles we decided that we should have a meal in this restaurant due to others being unavailable....it wasn't our first choice but it should've been. We were the only people dining although the takeaway business was booming, however the service from (chocolate?) was amazing. As was the food. Simply classic Chinese food as us westerners would expect. Ribs were awesome as we're our mains.We even heard a demonstration of the Raspberry Split song in the background. What a great little place. Thank you.

Ordered a meal to be told it would take a half hour to arrive as they were busy,just short of 20 mins the doorbell went & it was a taxi with the meal, it arrived so fresh, piping hot, beautiful, most of all so very delicious, 1 Slices Beef with Tomato & a Portion of Boiled Rice, 1 Dry King Prawn Show Mein... The beef was so tender as we're the Tomatoes, the Rice was beautifully cooked & Perfectly sticky.. The Show Me in was Gorgeous the Noodles & Veg Cooked just right & the Prawns Cooked to Perfection The correct amount of colour on the outside while translucent on the inside, because I can't go out having a good restaurant that delivers is every thing to me & from placing the order (so polite taking the order) to the food arriving it's got to be 5***** if I could give more I surely would

We sought out this restaurant having read reviews. We were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by our host immediately on arrival. It's a smallish restaurant with a takeaway section. We were given time to look at he extensive menu and the host happily answered our questions about some of the dishes. He's quite a lively character! Our food was delicious- fresh and tasty. This restaurant , just off the Hight St, is well worth seeking out.

Wonderful meal at the Mandarin Garden Chinese restaurant in Peebles,we chose the 3 person set menu and had a fantastic selection of hors d’Ouvre followed by duck pancakes and then three different main courses and fried rice which was a meal in itself.If you can’t finish your meal they will happily box it up for you to take away. Good value for money and the next time I’m in the area I’ll be visiting again.Family run business who can’t do enough for their customers.Definately five stars from the Trappitt family.

Our go-to restaurant in Peebles. Food fresh and service from Coffee and Ming excellent. Decor a bit dated and music variable, and the prices have gone up a lot in the past 6 months but you won't be disappointed. Better service than the Lychee!

The Food was great and the portions where a good size

Food definetly was not anywhere as nice as any other chinese food we have eaten we had seen some really good reviews on this place aswell but sadly it was not to our liking but everyone has different opinions on places.

Great standard of food and staff!

Just had a takeaway from here. Spare Ribs were succulent & Fried Rice was good unfortunately let down by quality of chicken in both our dishes. Very bland compared to other Chinese Restaurants so reason for only 3 out of 5.

Owner is a lovely man that is always happy! Wish i could know tablets he's on. Lol! i love the place and we are always made welcome or squeezed in if ive not made a booking if he can manage! Young man served us this time and was so nice and helpful, owner has well trained staff! Great food prices are responsible
