Mandarin Buffet in Cookstown

Start with vegetables soup which was delicious bowl could be bigger and the buffet had a wide range a fresh food and the deserts section had a lot of different options a great place to vist will definitely be back

Very disappointed took my daughter here for gcses congrats meal and my partner for always being hear for us at a hard time.food was so bad chicken like rubber the cake was hard.left hungry and pretty angry waste of money.not feeling great today myself and partner

Decent food , especially the starters . Would recommend if you want a chinese buffet at a reasonable price . Would rather go here when in Belfast than Cosmos .

First day of the year and after a short night we decided to have lunch in this restaurant. The food was very nice and lots of choice. The noodles were delicious. With four persons loading lots of food (even ice as desert) and one drink we had to pay only £ 36,- And yes, some dishes I didn't take...this is strictly a personal thing. This was our second time we ate her...and we will back with Easter. Thank you for the GREAT FOOD And we had a coke and there was nothing wrong with it...

I have been coming here for years with my partner and 3 children. It used to be beautiful and they had a high turnover on a Monday because they ran special offers which meant the food was always fresh and hot. It's no longer really affordable because my children are tall but still under 12 and I'm being charged full adult price for them when maybe all they are eating is a handful of cocktail sausages and some cold chips. The food on the last few visits has been dry, and cold and the only reason I keep returning is because my kids who have special needs are obsessed with the turtles. But even they were disappointed this time this and said they don't want to go back

Nice and clean! Friendly staff! Food is good and plentiful... never an empty tray for long! Deserts are fine could do with more selection of cakes! (Was disappointed that there was no chocolate fountain) but all around good value and really decent food for all you can eat! Your doggie bag will cost £3 for taking it home but still not bad!

Buffet food luke warm Watery currys all around bland as bland can be no flavour Flat coke from a 2 litre bottle for 3.20 Didnt complain because of cheap price hot food counter would be better

Was in Cookstown on Monday morning & decided to call in to the Mandarin Buffet. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress on arrival & escorted to a choice of seating areas. The surroundings are bright, extremely clean & the U tampered stone wall finish really add to the ambience. The food was hot & tasty & there was a wide variety to choose from. The salted chilli fries, noodles, chicken balls, chicken curry were all delicious. My favourite dish was the sweet & sour chicken. I haven't tasted a sweet and sour as good in years!! The deserts are fine, nothing to get excited about & there were no banana or pineapple fritters but the main courses well & truly make up for the mediocre desserts. The lunch buffet during the week is less than £7 which is an absolute bargain. Would I visit again? Definitely! Food rating has to be at least 9 out of 10. Nearly forgot to mention - the staff are friendly, good craic & an asset to the business.

Come here regularly with the family (they all love it). Eat all you want buffet. Value for money (price depends on day & time visited). Simple straightforward 'help yourself' layout. Frequent replenishment with freshly cooked food. Good variety of chicken dishes but some could maybe have stronger flavours (and I don't mean by just adding more salt as some are already over salted). Little variety of dessert - but then who has room for dessert. Overall worth the visit but I would like to see more flavours. Will we be back - of course we will (when the salt wears off my lips).

we are in here in October the food was lovely great value for money. You get far to much to eat I couldn't finished it all. My kids loved it. we definitely will be back as a family.x

they keep adding fresh food .great selection of food except for the desserts not many but once you eat dinner you may not need dessert.staff are good for drinks the rest is self service. I do not like lots of food that is not good but here you get as much as you want but its good.downside you may have to wait 5 mins on a fresh dish you like but is always worth the wait. this is my first review of this place but I have been here many times.

Ample parking in this old stone building & nicely decorated interior. Some staff could do with customer service training. The food is self service, basic Chinese food on offer and not all dishes are hot. All in all, an average experience and would love to see some competition nearby. I've eaten in many different buffets that offer an extensive array and choice, so be warned!

The food is not bad quality for what you pay. You can't expect top quality for those prices. Everyone should be able to find something they can eat and it's tasty enough. The kids love it but I wouldn't want to go regularly.

I have eaten here several times, its very average but could do so much better with trained staff & a good clean.

FOOD POISONING ALERT. I wouldn't normally bother to write a bad review however having tried to reason with the manager and getting no satisfaction I feel I'm left with no choice. My partner, my mother and I dined there on Friday at 5.05pm, 22nd January. The food was old and disgusting, sauces were tasteless and watered down. My mother bit into an onion ring and nearly broke her tooth! We picked at the vile food, paid and left vowing never to eat there again. Unfortunately having spent the last 36hrs mopping up sick and spending Saturday at dal riada where my partner needed an INJECTION and prescribed medication for food poisoning I am like I said left with no choice. All I wished to do with no fuss, was to inform the manager of this and felt that the least he could do was re emburse our money. He refused stating company policy. I will be in touch first thing tomorrow morning with the food standards agency and my solicitor.

The wife and I eat lunch here regularly, the food is good with a broad range of choices, the staff are helpful and unintrusive, no need to walk out of here hungry.

First time there food was lovely staff friendly but on way out from paying a member of staff spilled a large amount of orange juice on my clothes and in my hand bag by a accident she apologise but I was expecting a bit more maybe hopeing the manager wud appear.

This place is decorated beautifully although i have been there once or twice when it has been a little cold.The tables are spaced out really nicely and it has a good family feel.There is a good variety of food that has always been topped up- the deserts however are not as impressive.Great parking outside.I ordered a coke which was watered down so that it tasted like water- I hate when restaurants charge over £2 for watered down drinks! This is why I give an average rating and not a very good.I do not like that the staff can take out their mobile phones- I find this a little unprofessional.Would come here again.

Me and the husband and my kids age 3 & 5 went on saturday for lunch - Kids got theirs for free!! woo hoo! Anyway this was our 1st time here and best Chinese Buffet ive been at in a long long time - Food was hot, rice and special fried rice was lovely and fresh - noodles fresh (not hard like most other buffets ive been to). Dishes were very tasty, full of flavour. Restaurant was clean and nice atmosphere. Toilets were clean. Will definately be back!

Firstly- there is a good number of dishes available at this buffet and they are regularly topped up by possibly the manager/chef throughout. Tables are nicely spaced and everything is laid out well. My faults with this buffet is that no one dish stands out, everything tastes average which usually happens in restaurants like this. Another thing is that even though staff are friendly and helpful when you call for them, it is a shame that customers have to attract their attention in the first place. I get the impression the young waitresses feel bored and therefore seem to pass their time by chatting to each other. I dont blame them for this as I can understand in a buffet restaurant there are times where waiting about is all they have to do. However, a little more attention would have improved my visit. I'm undecided on whether ill return.

Visited Mandarin Buffet not knowing what to expect but was very surprised, the food choice and quality was excellent. All types of dishes available, and very well priced for lunch. Would highly recommend the Mandarin Buffet if you are in need of an all your can eat Chinese buffet. Worth a visit. The atmosphere is relaxing with great service and helpful staff and any requests you have they are more than happy to assist you. I will return. Also our 2 year old was free for all you can eat a great plus as our 2 year olds is very picky.
