Lovely little Italian restaurant in Craig y Don. Food was excellent. Piping hot and full of flavour. Portion sizes were just about right, so we didn't leave the restaurant feeling uncomfortable. Only criticism is, like all other Italian/Indian restaurants, drinks were expensive. Would definitely recommend.

We found this little place last night we dined in and the food was outstanding lots of choice on the menu and the staff were so obligeing and friendly to what we wanted would definitely go back to mamma Rosa again

Lovely Italian restaurant suitable for all ages, romantic and all so children friendly so good for families. Food excellent, service with a smile, great cooking with good portions, bread mushrooms a treat for me as was the mixed Bruschetta

The food was delicious. I have had carbonara all over the world and this was as good as the best I've had in Italy. My husband had a fish food pasta, he said from the first mouthful there was wonderful fishy taste, he loved it, even though he is a steak guy. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. When I asked which way something was prepared, as I liked one and not the other, I was asked which I would prefer. That has never happened to me before! We did discuss food quantity and decided it was average for an Italian restaurant. As a lady it was too much for me and I saw someone leaving with a doggy bag. My husband felt it was just OK but exactly what we get elsewhere. It is not a heaped plateful but what Italian does that. The other consideration is the environment, it is like being in someone's house for dinner. It is not a modern plush restaurant. The excellent food and service made us feel we would return no matter the surroundings. There was background music that was not over powering, so you could have conversations with ease. Highly recommended if you like great real Italian food served with a willing smile.

We visited here for mine and my husband's wedding anniversary. The starter was to die for and the mains were tasty too. A good selection of wine and at a good price. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating for us, very helpful. All in all a lovely and romantic experience. They even changed the music for us!

The restaurant only opened after lockdown today. The staff were all masked and a good space between the tables. Starters for two were the mixed bruschetta. Light, tasty snacks with plenty of mozzarella and not too crisp. Main pasta dishes were linguine with salmon, very tasty and, thank goodness, after searching for an authentic spaghetti carbonara for years, I’ve finally found it. Salty with bacon, silky sauce around the pasta and not a hint of cream! Perfecto! I’ll be coming back to Llandudno to have this dish again! Thank you for a lovely meal.

Bland food, not authentic Italian. Bruschetta was just some french stock with melted cheese on top. Not sure what or how they made the meatballs, no flavour, compressed animec looking with no flavour.

First time out for lunch since lockdown with my son today. Menu is varied, service is great. Although I was nervous about my first outing I am glad we went...all safety requirements in place, plenty of spacing between tables. If you are unsure about venturing out as you haven't been anywhere Mamma Rosa is a great place for your first visit. Felt completely at ease. Haven't been here for years. Food was beautiful and even got to take our leftovers home. Won't be leaving it years again until we return.

Family-run Italian restaurant a 15 minute walk from Llandudno town centre - but worth the walk! The food was flavoursome and the service very friendly - they stayed open later for us.

Our first visit since the change of management but we were pleased to see the quility of the food and the friendliness of the staff had not changed, and would have no hesitation in recommending Mamma Rosa's to anyone who love Italian food

I’ve been here many times before and had a wonderful experience but tonight very sadly this was not the case. The restaurant has recently changed chef and following my visit tonight this has not been a change for the better. My meal was very disappointing and when I fed this back to the management it was dismissed and in fact the chef was dismissive of my feedback. I didn’t want a reduction in my bill I simply wanted an acknowledgment of my feedback but instead I was made to feel as if I was not important and he wasn’t interested and I didn’t matter. I want to make it clear that the waitressing staff were absolutely superb and a credit to the restaurant. I feel very sad and disappointed by the reaction I received from the chef, I am an advocate of supporting local businesses but feel particularly disheartened by this experience.

A last minute booking for 3 adults and a child following a small kitchen fire (16.02.20). (We’re local). Very accommodating to my daughter’s no dairy diet including preparing alternative bread for her. I ordered from the Valentine’s menu (salmon gravalax and carbonara) which was amazing. Daughter had mussels (beautiful) and other pasta dishes also very good. Lots of compliments from the party. Restaurant was quiet but Storm Denis was causing bad weather and it was a Sunday post Valentines the waitress said they’d been very busy over the weekend) so unsurprising it was quiet tonight. The nice, restorative evening was negatively impacted by a party who decided they ‘were not happy’ and left, loudly. Sadly, their manner of doing so, clearly upset the waitress, which is unacceptable.Overall, lovely food and accommodating staff. I’d have returned this evening if we could!

On visiting Mama Rosa's on Valentine's night we were very disappointed. The upstairs restaurant was lacking in atmosphere, although there were candle tea lights on the table the main lighting was so bright that the candles on the table had no effect. The menu would have been a lot nicer to have had a Valentine theme, not the every day menu. Romantic background music would have been nice. My partner had the sea food starter which would have been much tastier with local found meaty mussels instead of small mussels and clams which was in a tasteless stock. The Tiramisu for dessert was so sweet and lacking in coffee liqueur and Marsala. We hope you found these comments helpful as they are intended not to criticise but as constructive criticism.

We have been here for quite a long time now we stay in the centre of Llandudno and there are quite a few good Italian restaurants there but we wanted to go back for old times we went tonight (Sunday 16th February ) there was 1 couple and 1 couple with a child we were shown to our table to be told that has it was quiet there was only one portion of cannelloni one of the wines was sold out we could pick off the valentine's menu that was alot dearer than the normal menu when I asked if I could have the pate off the valentine's menu and order off the normal menu I was told she would have to check there was no background music when we entered the restaurant and no atmosphere when she said she needed to go and check I just said we would just pay for the wine and leave a man came and asked why we were leaving when we explained he said "DON'T COME AGAIN" to which I replied DON'T WORRY WE WON'T" there are far better Italian restaurants in Llandudno that appreciate your custom won't be going back

A very disappointing wednesday evening meal with friends. Their soup appeared to lack the two headline ingredients of coriander and carrot but the crispy fried seafood starter was the only good dish. Canneloni as a main course was small and lacking in sauce and flavourless. Linguini Bolognese de la Casa was equally lacking in sauce with little meat and suffered from a lack of tomato and garlic, resulting in a boringly bland and uninteresting dish. Spaghettti carbonara had badly congealed pasta, and little flavour. It, in common with the other main dishes, was served in a cold plate or dish and quickly lost any warmth of the food itself. The waitress had to be asked for black pepper and Parmesan cheese, and the cheese did not appear to be parmesan but a cheap ready grated poor substitute. The atmosphere was not improved by overly bright lighting. This was a return visit after some years but we are most unlikely to return again.....ever!!!

Went to the restaurant on New Years Eve 2019 and was disappointed. The previous year the experience had been fantastic, but this time there was no atmosphere and the food was only average.

Friendly staff. Clean tables. Excellent choice of Italian food, from pizza , pasta, and specials. Red Wine came rather chilled, requires a higher temperature. Food very tasty. Reasonably priced. I had the seafood risotto which is highly recommended. Clean toilets upstairs. One needs to book!

Went here on the 4/1/20 what a little diamond of a place, service was fantastic the food was well presented and tasty. Will definitely recommend this place. Nice clean restaurant toilets are clean. Was just perfect!

Went to Mamma Rosa yesterday afternoon for a meal, the food is very tasty, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant I can say I will be going back there again on my next visit to Llandudno

4 of us dined there 20th December. A friendly Italian style restaurant with a fabulous dining experience, a varied menu, tremendous food and friendly customer service with a smile. The new owners Sam and Becky are the friendliest couple you could ever wish to meet.

Booked a table with family visiting and was really impressed with the reception we got the staff are so welcoming and friendly the decor was clean and refreshing and the food was well presented and full of flavour I would recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning

Had my Daughters first birthday party here (daytime) as we just love the place and as it was a party with the family we thought why not! We had a great time in the upstairs room with a buffet including a tray of their scrumptious lasagne to help ourselves to! The Christmas decorations were up too which added a lovely theme and the new owners, Sam and Becky went above and beyond for us! A great time had by all, Thank you very much, we could not have been happier!

Our large group of 40 friends and family had a 60th birthday party here. The atmosphere and staff were very good the whole place was warm and the food was really good very tasty and piping hot. We can't wait to return.

Went here last night for our Christmas Office night out. 5 very happy people had a great night! Great food, great staff, great ambience. A real Italian restaurant with real Italian food. Because the starters looked so good we all decided to just have the starters and mains and skip the puds. Guess what, we all had puds as well! Says it all really. Nothing more to say other than thank you and go there!

The inside has recently been beautifully renovated. The food is top quality and the service we recieved was perfect, the staff are very very friendly. 10/10 would recommend this restaurant.

Staff were very friendly and the place itself is nice. The people on the table next to us were a bit brash but that's not the restaurants fault! The food was good and you can view the menu to check the prices which were okay. They catered for children and the portions for all of us were a decent size. The only issue was that it seems to have lost its magic. Its just good. I would say it is slightly above average. One thing that stuck in my mind was the waitress asking if we needed change when we paid the bill. We paid in cash and were fully intending to tell her to keep the change but when she basically asked for a tip it just felt unprofessional. It was a good meal but we won't be going back as it wasn't really special.

We went for a pre theater meal had really lovely food , served by a really nice waitress and in a very nice restaurant.

We ate here before going to a performance at Venue Cymru and were sorry that we didn't have enough time to have a dessert! Mamma Rosa restaurant is friendly, the service is good, the pizzas are excellent and they have a very nice house wine. Unfortunately service isn't included on the bill, we couldn't add a tip to the credit card payment and I didn't have any cash with me. They were very nice about it, though - and next time we're in Llandudno we'll eat there again and make sure we have enough cash to leave a double tip!

Had a lovely meal friendly atmosphere pleasant staff and great new decor. Will be revisiting I would highly recommend this restaurant

Went with my family for my 60th food was wonderful and the staff sang happy birthday to me enjoyed every moment! Food was soooooo good especially the lasagne and sticky toffee pudding!

First time visit but won't be the last. Typical Italian menu but the food was unpretentious and good quality.

There was a hint of italian missing from the food at this restaurant, my partner had cannelloni which didn't quite taste like canelloni should. My linguine was served, according to the menu with a taste of tomato sauce, it arrived absolutely swimming in tomorrow sauce and was more like a linguine soup. We had a caprese salad that didnt have any basil on it and the mozzarella was so bland it was just not worth ordering. My partner had a perroni but it was gluten free, he said it was 'alright'. My house wine was nice. Just needs to be a bit more authentic. We were also in a rush and asked if we could do the meal in an hour and a quarter, we were assured they could but we were chasing our main course (we only had one course) and we had to wait nearly 15 mins to pay the bill. It was a bit stressful and I dont know if we would go again - I hope they manage to sort out their authenticity as it would be a fabulous restaurant otherwise

We were recommended to come here, by staff at our hotel. It was really quirky, like walking into someones lounge. We were helped to choose our meal. I asked for the plain pasta and tomato sauce, and they gladly added some extra ingredients, to make it to my own taste, nothing was too much trouble! When it came, it was a huge bowl full, definitely value for money, it was a shame I couldn't eat it all. As it was coming up to closing time, we got into conversation with the owners, lovely couple, we wish them well.

After being recommended to go here we booked a table, wish we hadn't, we had the bruschetta starter which was horrible and didn't even have Italian cheese on more like melted cheddar with no taste. I had the meatballs & my husband had the Lobster ravioli. the pasta was not fresh and neither had a nice taste so we didn't really eat it. They did take the meatballs off the bill but it didn't really make up for our dissapointing evening. I can cook better Italian myself will not be returning.

After visiting many times in the past and having excellent food and service, our visit last weekend was very disappointing. The staff were trying their best but this did not make up for the unacceptable quality of the food and drinks. The garlic bread was crispy, my lasagne was stodgy with no sauce or any taste at all and the lager was warm.

We have been here a couple of times and, although the place has apparently changed hands, found the service friendly and the food good.

Went to Mama Rosa with my partner. We have been a few times and ALWAYS had amazing food and service. Went today and the food was terrible. We had garlic bread which was more like a biscuit. Had lasagne and my partner said it was very bland. I had tagliatelle and it was of a poor standard too. The beer was warm and over priced. The staff tried their best. We found out it has changed owners recently. We will be be going there again. Shame as it used to be very nice.

A superb little restaurant, quite easy to miss, but definitely worth finding. Amazing Italian food, prepared and presented beautifully, and at reasonable prices. Family run, excellent service. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Llandudno.

Tucked away in a back street, we had a pre theatre meal here and enjoyed a lovely cooked and served by this Italian family.

Had a lovely meal here on our first visit last Saturday. Very impressed with the quality of food, decor and service. It’s a little pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Will definitely return.

Found this place on an of chance on a Wednesday evening when the Italian we usually go to had a 45 min wait - and were glad we did!

We stumbled across this lovely restaurant and we very pleased that we did. Now added to our list of must return restaurants.

Paid return visits this week, once again lovely food, nothing too much trouble for the staff, so charming and friendly. Cannot recommend Mamma Rosa's highly enough.

Visited after looking at TripAdvisor reviews. We managed to book a table in the same afternoon.The restaurant is small and in a house so like a downstairs room.

The place was amazing, the staff were amazing and the food was amazing too, if you are a lover of Italian Food try here, thank you for a wonderful night.

When we travel from Lancaster to Llandudno to meet family, there is only one place we will eat. Sibilla is wonderful, great service, excellent food and very cosy atmosphere...Try it !

Friends told us about this restuarant so we went along to give it a try and IT WAS GREAT authentic Italian food that is cooked and served as it should be, I ordered one starter on the sea food starter items as a main from the menu and decided whilst I was eating it that some pasta would go down well and in a matter of minutes it arrived, great service great food we gave them 6/5

Visited twice while in Llandudno always choosing different dishes.Prawn cocktail was a little sparse but leek and potatoe soup was nice.Pasta and meatballs good as was the pizza.

I was really looking forward to my visit here after reading the reviews but unfortunately the reviews are very misleading. The bruschetta was made with tomato puree not fresh tomato and served on limp tasteless bread. The linguine with garlic and chilli was not fresh tasting as it should be but tasted burnt and over cooked with so much chilli that I had to leave it. Such simple Italian basics should be a staple of any Italian restaurant and it was such a shame this was not the case. The one positive was the service, it wasn't rushed and the waitresses were very efficient and pleasant.

I booked an early evening table for our family with two young children. The menu available was excellent and we all loved the food. Very friendly service and we will make another visit when next in Llandudno

No frills at Mamma Rosa, but don't let this put you off. The staff and the food were lovely. Again your typical Italian menu with plenty of choice.

Having a GF and lactose intolerance, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating despite being very busy. As every dish is cooked from scratch, the waitress told us that they could accommodate my dietary needs. Absolutely faultless! The food was excellent and good value for money too. Would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant. Great atmosphere too.

Whenever we go away we always search for restaurants in the area and one always has to be an Italian. We couldn’t find a menu and I wasn’t sure about going however reviews were really good on a few sites so we went. Glad we did as it was a little gem. I’d recommend this restaurant but there is only 1 window seat downstairs so if you like to sit by the window book in advance and ask for it. Lovely little place though and the staff were helpful, friendly and great. The food was beautiful and if we find ourselves back in Llandudno then we will visit again.

We ate here Thursday evening after calling to find out what they did for GF wife...the list was endless ..everything was no bother to them they are fantastic. My wife had GF Spaghetti with a rich bolognese sauce and they don't skimp either so after scoffing my delicious lasagne I had to "help" her out with it. Both dishes were superb. We then shared the best Pannacotta we have ever had with raspberry coulis it was stunning. We loved it so booked right away for the following evening where we both had chicken breast in a rich creamy mushroom & pancetta sauce ,roast spuds and mixed veggies...Bella! We followed up with Pannacotta(my wife in love with it) and I had toffee pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. A nice peroni and glass of Abbrizzo finished us off.. Absolutely delicious food ,lovely warm and welcoming staff . Its not a big place so book early but whatever you do ..dont miss it.

Arrived on a Saturday night with our two starving grandchildren . Worried at first we would not be able to get a table but they quickly accommodated us at a table in a quiet corner

The choice and variation of food was very good.

What a fabulous place! Despite the atrocious weather, it was busy, and rightly so. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and although we were at least 15 minutes early, were taken right to our table upstairs. Service was relaxed but efficient, with nice gaps between courses. The freshly baked garlic bread was wonderful, and the olives the best we've had in a restaurant. Our mains of sea bass and slow cooked veal were delicious: really fresh and authentic flavours, and the portion sizes were just spot on (so many restaurants get that wrong). The roasted vegetables on the side were delicious and even included what we think were Jerusalem artichokes! The dessert menu was enticing, but we decided to share an affogato (delicious ice cream with hot espresso poured over) which was perfect. Sadly, we were unable to visit again on our return leg home from holiday due to a family bereavement, but we will definitely be back next year!

Booked this restaurant as we were attending a concert in town. When we arrived we were seated immediately, menus were provided and our drinks order was taken promptly. Our waitress soon returned to take our food order without hurrying us. Starters arrived quickly and were delicious, mains, were served without undue delay and if possible surpassed the starters! There were no untoward delays nor any feeling of being rushed. In all a very pleasant dining experience

Come here so often,always had fantastic food. Very dissapointed with our last visit. Small portion, very bland and dry, pasta was stuck at the back of my throat. Panacotta was nice.

First of all I recommend booking a table as this restaurant seems to get busy and with good reason. Staff very so lovely and friendly, felt like being greeted by old friends. Orders were taken quickly and staff were really attentive when bringing out the food and checking if everything was okay. The food was amazingly delicious with generous portions. I highly recommend the Fettucine al Salmone! (Photo attached!) We were only in Llandudno for the weekend but would highly recommend to friends and family visiting and will return here when we ever come back to Llandudno. So pleased with the service, the staff are lovely, this is a major factor for me and they ticked the box!

The food is tasty, plentiful and a great choice range of Italian food. The service was warm & efficient. We have been twice in the last two months on our visits to Llandudno have had no complaints on both visits.

We were here for lunch, with a group of family and had the restaurant to ourselves. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had lasagne, which was the best lasagne I have had in any Italian Restaurant. It was really delicious. Nice portion sizes. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and were brilliant. Very kind and helpful with the 2 year old in our group and very accommodating. It was really good value for money as well. Lovely and clean and I would highly recommend this place. If we find ourselves in Llandudno again then I will definitely go back. After reading reviews of several restaurants in Llandudno we chose Mamma Rosa. Although as my wife said, it was like sitting in someone's front room it was well worth it as the food was very tasty. The staff were very polite and helpful, needless to say we will definitely be back.

We booked last minute on bank holiday Saturday and although very busy, they managed to find us a table. The upstairs had been opened -I usually sit downstairs so enjoyed the change. We had the sharing bruschetta and carpaccio to start the each had a pizza. Service was very efficient and friendly considering how busy they were. Thank you for another enjoyable evening.

Family visit last night. Good area and service is great. Just not easy finding. The mean door is small and not clean. We need local people hope to come here.
