We eat at Mama's about once a month and the food is always extremely nice. The staff are extremely friendly. I have been to nearly all the curry houses in Ealing and Mama's is my clear favourite.

Ealing tiene una multitud de restaurantes. Mamá se destaca entre ellas. La comida es de primera clase. Los sabores y la variedad son los mejores. Ya sea que comas o te quites, no puedes equivocarte. "Best curry in Northfields" is always going to attract controversy - however my vote is for Mamas. The shashlik fire and staff curry in particular are superb. Lovely service, good food - what more could you want?

It was my first time at a Nepalese restaurant. The decor was basic but the food certainly made up for this. Garlic name and spicy rice was amazing. Beautiful, spicy and non oily food, I would definitely recommend. Service was lovely and efficient and warm.

Our first time to Ma Ma’s! All I can say is, what have we been doing the last 5 years as we walk by the restaurant every day?! Truly a wonderful meal from start to finish. We will return.

We visited Mamas by chance when we first moved to this area 5 years ago and have since eaten there many times. Everything we have had has been great. Takeaway delivery service is very punctual too.

I absolutely love this restaurant it is my regular go to. Service could be a little better but the food and portion sizes make up for that ten fold! Just delish!

I regularly eat here with friends and it's always a great experience. Fantastic food, incredibly generous portions and lovely staff. And they are more than happy to pack the leftovers up for you to take home!

Fuimos un grupo grande para el cumpleaños de mi hijo. No hay problema complaciente 16 de nosotros. Comida todos salimos juntos y era absolutamente delicioso. Había visto tantas críticas positivas de mamas en las páginas de red sociales y tenía que probar. No me decepcionó en ningún área. Un restaurante muy agradable, buena comida, personal y precios. Gracias a todos en Mamas para una noche memorable! ¡Volveremos!

Cuando fuimos por primera vez en sólo había una mesa libre en la esquina de la parte de atrás (al lado de una mesa de los niños! ). Yo no estaba contento con eso, pero luego, afortunadamente, otra mesa se convirtió en gratuito, así que nos cambiamos. Fuimos en un momento cuando había una fiesta/reunirse y, teniendo en cuenta el pequeño tamaño del restaurante, que era bastante ruidoso. Sin embargo, cuando el grupo grande empezamos a comer que se calmaba a!

He estado viviendo en Ealing para un par de años, y he probado la mayoría de los zona northfields curry y este, en mi opinión, es el mejor. Pollo o cordero curry es el personal!

Great restaurant, naan bread sizes are huge, more like a pizza! Food cooked perfectly, the spicier dishes have a lot of spice in them!! But everything was great, friendly team, very reasonably priced as well. Very well lit, so very bright inside and quite close to other tables so you may end up joining in another group :)

Having been duly informed that it was my mother's actual birthday, and over loaded with book marketing (Brasil Pelada II: A visual guide to the Rio Olympics & Paralympics available awn Amazon n udder sir pliers), I was reluctant to skelp to Il Bordello (Wapping) & pay a crazy price for the humble pasta, so i looked a lickle closer ta homie, i.e. 2 streets away & picked up a flier from Mamas ... I then went into the Foresters as they also had some food thang gwan, but sadly when I asked , the bartender simply disappeared into the Stygian gloom that is the Foresters Northfields. However as another bemused punter wandered in , he noticed the Mamas menu in hand; as he was equally ignored but the staff, he said " that's a good place for food that".He recommended the Gherkin curry; I said I hope it's got moh dan Gherkin ennit; nah mate Ghurka as in Ghurka, as in not on the Main menu... got ta go inside ennit ... well cheap. I was at once releived having found a place, just five minutes walk away, & not costing W.End prices. The only thing it was Friday, and as I remember it it, Mamas consists of a Victorian shop of only 1 floor of about 20 covers. Any we dun turn up @ 8.00 pm to find the place lotada (full) and loud .. very very loud. There was one tiny double table, so we were jammed between a young couple and what turned out to be the classic Woody Allen family from Hell.I furtively scanned for the Gherkin Curry, as the waiter pestered us for popadoms... Popadoms are the fries of Indian cuisine ( a flour emulsion& 1M% profit margin) , and as I wasn't in the mood for unacceptable face of Nepalism, I opted for a paratha asking whether it was stuffed? This caused a certain amount of head scratching, as the the waiter added ... probably!My mother did the usual embarrassing thang of trying to order a Balti ( in a Nepalese restaurant ... wa gwan?). The paratha duly arrived with asiatic trimmings (pickles, onions et al) ... it was completely stuffed & resembled an anaemic naan; probs fairly healthy?How successfully deciphered the menu I ordered a Fish Gurka Curry, which was spicy & beautiful, as forearmed by da Foresters pub guy in the pub. My mother ordered the Daal, which proved to be very traditional (pre- James Martin/Saturday kitchen); nothing more than boiled lentils, turmeric and an life threatening amount of salt. This was traditional as daal gets (lickle spice) and .. some like it like dat!. My mum compensated for the war rational like daal, by mixing the rich tomato based sauce of my gurkali curry.The Nepalese beer was a superb accompaniment, which is more than can be said about our in flagrante nappy changing & breast feeding neighbours who at max volume, boasted about the size of their iPhone ... at least I think it was iPhones?Cheap good food if a trifle noisy, and nouveaux overicched!

I regularly visit Mama's with friends and my wife and it never disappoints. Large portions but so, so tasty. Gives all the other Nepalese restaurants in the area a run for their money.

We used to live in Northfields and ate here regularly. Since we moved away we have not been until last weekend. There was something missing which used to draws there so often. The service that we used to love was a little downbeat, the delicious food we knew was not their usual standard.We will come back again, but for the previous experiences we had, not for this occasion.

Went with husband and infant daughter, quite soon after opening on a Saturday evening, we were the only ones there (although I imagine it gets busier later in the evening as the food was great). Good food and service, reasonably priced. Portions are very large!

Tonight (Thursday 12th May 2016) I took my son and daughter to Mama's Nepalese Restaurant to celebrate my son's birthday. We have been coming to this curry house since it opened 6 years ago. We like it because the food is consistently good, the service is friendly and attentive, the portions are big and the prices are very reasonable indeed. Everything was spot on, just as we expected. My son and I had salmon tikka masala, chicken madras, sheesh kebab, peas pilau, chapati and garlic naan. My daughter's vegetarian dishes were delicious too.I thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good curry. Keep up the good work Santos!

Tried these guys for a takeaway once just because I felt I should but will not be changing from my normal provider of Indian takeaways on Northfield Avenue.Nothing whatsoever wrong with the food (although as I recall, the delivery time was rather long) but will not go back as I simply happen to prefer the other suppliers.

Very good food and very good service, staff are very friendly . I love the lamb bhuna curry and tandoori chicken .

For those living in and around London W13, and for curry lovers further afield, Mamas has, in what seems a relatively short time, become the go-to place for me for a local curry. Eclipsing in my view, the better known Monty's nearby, I especially like the Burning chicken, and the Ginger Chicken dishes. But, there is a wide selection of beautifully prepared and cooked dishes on offer. For vegetarians the aubergine bhaji is a personal favourite of mine. Long gone are the days of a standard gravy with every dish. Each of Mama's dishes is distinctly flavoured and individually crafted. Highly recommended. I also love the fact that the Himalayan lager on offer comes from the notoriously rugged terrain of Park Royal, a couple of miles away. Lol.

The restaurant is centrally located about 15 mins from heathrow. If you are looking for indian food around heathrow then this is the place to be.

We went on a Monday after reading the very good reviews on tripadvisor. Only two tables were occupied with 3 or 4 guys serving, but service was still slow. Dal was a bit boring. Tandoori mixed maxed was tasty, but nothing special. It's a little out of the way if you're not already in Northfields and I think there are better options in the area. Disappointed.

A friend of ours had recommended Mama's so my partner and I thought we'd give it a go, genuinely one of the tastiest curries (and starters) I've ever had, and such great value. We went on a Tuesday evening and it was very quiet (just two other couples in the restaurant) so service was very quick which was great. Their onion bhajis & king prawn tempura were incredible, there is so much choice on the menu but I fancied something sweet and creamy for main so I went for a chicken korma which was amazing. Great portion sizes too. Overall a fantastic experience and can't wait to go back, they also deliver locally which is even better news!

5 of us dined at Mama's as it is not far from where my daughter lives. We all ordered different starters and mains to share plus some side dishes, rice and naan breads. Every dish was delicious and different and a couple, which we had not tried before (kukhra masala and drunken fry), were particularly good.Our one mistake was in ordering too much but our leftovers were bagged up and taken home. The total bill, which included 2 bottles of wine, was under £100 - great value for the mountains of food we got.We were made to feel very welcome by our friendly hosts and we will definitely be back.

Popped in not expecting much, ordered the Drunken fry and was in love straight away...flavours were amazing !!

Whenever I visit friends in Northfields we always end up here.Excellent flavours which are slightly different form the norm. I alwaystake a Nepalese recommendation. The staff are very helpful. In factI'm hoping to return this weekend!!

Been here with group of friends food was really nice but service was bit disappointed as our server seems angry or didn't want to smile. Very difficult to answer our questions as he was not interested to serve us

On a road swamped with great competition, it can be a tricky choosing an Indian on Northfields Avenue but once you've given Mama's a go it'll make it much easier next time. First up the service is top - friendly & helpful. Our server could tell it was our first visit and we seemed to be treated particularly well for it. I must note this hasn't faltered on subsequent visits. Food - its Nepalese so there are some great alternative dishes there to your standard (British) 'Indian'. Obviously the classics are there too. There is a real atmosphere to this place. I have friends who visit from south london to come to this restaurant, and when sitting in the restaurant I doubt they are the only ones travelling from afar for a visit.

I ordered the chicken tikka masala, it was possibly the best tikka masala I've ever had. My husband had the lamb breyani and fully enjoyed it. The only problem we had was the wait time, almost an hour I feel is a little too long to wait. But I'm glad we did. All in all will definitely be ordering from them in the future ☺

Just home from a meal for two , my grandaughter and me.Couldn't fault it good service , excellent food , and great value.If you like Indian/Asian food just go there you will not be disappointed.

We love this place, have been a lot less since the arrival of our son (use them for great take away now)but when we arrange a baby sitter and head back we are welcomed like old friends. My husband loves the stuffed chicken and I love their prawn puri starter.Great value and always delicious.

The food is absolutely delicious! I started with some popadoms with a few dips and salad - a great start to awaken my tase buds.The mixed grill came to our table still sizzling I expected it to be a little dry but all of the meat was so moist. The customer service definitely deserved 5 stars, out waiter greeted us with a welcoming smile and paid so much attention to us.It was a lovely evening and I will definitely be going there again. I am so glad that I found this little gem!

We're fortunate enough to have this as our local curry house and it's excellent. The food is always fresh and tasty. You often have to book as the place is quite small and usually very busy. Drunken chicken is very good as is the garlic chicken. We've been here on numerous occasions and have never had a bad meal.Keep up the good work!!

Been 4 times and it was great every time. Curries really have a depth of flavour. Last time took 10 of my friends and they were all raving about it too. Friendly family service you would expect too.

This is our favourite restaurant in or near Ealing. The food is always very good and so is the service. They always seem glad to see you. It's popular and usually busy and has a good atmosphere. Madras is my favourite and last night I had the best I've had in ages. Don't be afraid to ask for a doggie bag. You get so much to eat, a lot of people take what's left home.

Our first visit to Mama's though we have eaten Nepalese before. A very pleasant evening; helpful and courteous staff; gave us ideas of what dishes to mix etc.The meal was excellent, well cooked and to our taste. A night cap was on the house.Very happt to recommend.

If the food improved somewhat, it might reasonably be described as average. I ordered a dhal with lentils that proved watery and flavourless. When I advised the server that I hadn't liked it, she said, "But it's one of our most popular dishes!" As opposed, you see, to, perhaps, "I regret that, and certainly won't charge you for it." (In fairness, we weren't charged in the end, but I'd have much preferred a more gracious initial response.)

Had a curry here, service was friendly, bloody chicken very tasty and they even threw in a free shot for us at the end. Good experience!

On the quiet streets of Northfields on a Friday night we came across the bustling, lively, packed Mama's. We settled into a table and watched the staff go to and fro trying to keep up. The portions are huge, trust me an absolute feast for one.The menu is adventurous...you must try a Nepalese specialty...otherwise you might as well go to an indian down the road. The Shashlick Fire was a lovely twist, the sauce packs a punch of flavour. The Aloo Bodi reminds me of home and the fried lamb tikka is a unique flavour.Ok so on to the wait...the starters came swiftly but we waited a bit for the mains. We didn't mind but if you are expecting a quick meal this is not the place. The staff were clearly swept off their feet but service was with a smile.

When Mama's first opened a few years ago, just doors away from the popular Monty's Nepalese (a local institution), my initial reaction was 'yeah, good luck with that'. I'm pleased to say Mama's has exceeded expectations, consistently superb food and now the only place I go for my curry fix. As with most Nepalese restaurants, the menu is pretty much your standard Indian fare, with a few specialities added. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal here, what ever we have selected from the menu has always been spot on. Good size portions, wonderfully balanced spicing, always good quality and well cooked meat. Personal faves Butter Chicken, Shaslick Fire and the Kathmandu Dal.I agree the restaurant itself is a bit spartan, and they could definitely do with extra staff at some times.

Been here a number of times. Whilst the food is always decent, the last couple of times we've been the service has been so slow. It appears that the kitchen is very focused on churning out the takeaway food and only deals with the orders in the restaurant when there is a lull in takeaways. On our most recent visit the restaurant was packed, however no food was coming out to the restaurant, only takeways. We waited an hour + for our meals, whilst those customers who were in the restaurant before we arrived had an even longer wait. The food for all the tables then came out at the same time, which suggests an issue which the management and kitchen should deal with. This was not an isolated incident as this also happened on an earlier visit. It is a shame as I like the place but the long wait and lack of management action in keeping you informed means I am unlikely to return. Seems to me that the owners need to decide whether they are a takeaway only or a restaurant with a takeaway business. If it is the latter, then changes need to be made to ensure customers in the restaurant do not have to wait 1 hour plus for their meals.

Went here with a group of friends. It is a cheap and cheerful restaurant that serves fixed price and fixed menu meals (similar to ones served at Indian weddings). Meal consists of four starters and four main courses and two small desserts. It is licensed but tolerates you bringing your own alcohol also. Our food was good ( not oily or very spicy). Atmosphere was one of a canteen. Portions were good, we were served more than we could eat.

what We ( me and my wife) like most about this restaurant is the staff out here are fantastic. They are very friendly and make you feel at home.At the same time food are of the best quality and very distinguish unlike other .I have to say this is the best of the best.Just fantasticcccccccccccccccccccc.

I've not been here before but this is one of my partner and his families favourite restaurants. The food was delicious, great flavours- the sauce for everything was yummy enough on its own. The portions are good, and meals I think are pretty good value. It's definitely one of the best meals I've had in a while. Oh and the staff are lovely too. Great restaurant!

We've lived in Northfields for nearly 3 years and have tried many of the local Asian cuisine restaurants, and this one is consistently the best. We get take away there at least once a fortnight, the servings are usually generous, the food delicious, and when we've eaten there, the service is prompt.Highly recommended!

We live nearby and go fairly often (our next door neighbours go almost every Fri or Sat night, but we don't eat out that often). Portions are enormous; we always take home a lot. Their take-away menu says they cut down on oil but the restaurant menu doesn't. I assume it's the same policy though. At first they had some more unusual dishes but now they have become so popular (you won't get in on Fri or Sat nights without a reservation, unless you go quite early or late), things like their pumpkin curry have been dropped. Still a good range of dishes though. Unfortunately the house red wine is dreadful, but red wine doesn't work all that well with curries usually, anyway, so we stick to the house white or beer. The spicy dishes can be as hot as you like. Many come with lots of chilies on top - yum. one of our fave dishes are the black-eyed beans and spinach. Good veggie choices, though I miss that pumpkin! Tip: you only need to order rice for one. Another good thing - tables aren't too squished together. Though lighting is a bit bright and floors and tables are bare, manages to have a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Concerned that by leaving a review on here, that I may not be able to get a table on busy days.Great curries, fresh ingredients, great atmosphere. Good value too. Worth trying the Indian wine which is on their list. Service is good and relaxed and non intrusive. Will definitely go again.

Oh WOW! What a fantastice meal. I love a good curry and this was fabulous. A nice clean modern restaurant with traditional touches. Friendly service with a smile, huge fresh portions with tasty tender meat, delicious flavours. We were very satisfied!!! To finish we were offered complimentary liquers to end the meal. First class. It was our first time there and the waiter told us the resturant was full of regulars!!! We will be back very soon.

Great tasting food, good variety and huge portions. Nice to see some different things on the menu and trust me, you won't leave hungry. Very fiendly staff and if you order to takeaway they will throw in a big bottle of Nepalese beer.
