Cosy place with big portions! I got the sticky tofu rice bowl and it was huge, and I didn't even get the 'large' size. Defo reccomend this place if you're hungry and it's a greta place to meet with friends and chat over some good food.

First Vietnamese restaurant tried in London, worth a try ! 😋

We are regular and loyalty customers and often order fried chicken wings. The size of the chicken wings is always the same, but tonight we got only one that was a reasonable size, and the other three were tiny. The staff explained that it was from the supplier. I want to say If the chicken wings are too small, you can give two more as compensation, and the customers will be happy. To be honest, your food has always been of high quality, please keep it up

My favourite Vietnamese spot. Best Pho in London. The broth is unbeatable. The intimate space makes the experience feel comfortable and homely. Staff are incredible. Only weakness is their Banh Mi, in that its good but there are better ones out there. But the fact I only think their weakness is that they have a good but not great banh mi just goes to show how good this place is. 5 stars in my eyes. The best!

Food was very dull. Nothing special at all. Also it was quite poorly set out - wobbly-bottomed crockery, too-big sprig of mint garnish, big leaves of unchopped lettuce which required cutting, which is tricky with chopsticks, some of the items tucked away on the plate out of sight behind the bowl of wet food on top of it, food just didn't taste or look like anything special, although perfectly edible, to be fair. No cheaper than really good place nearby with near-identical menu. It was a cold day, the heating wasn't turned on, and every time the door opened it made the seating area feel even chillier.

I'm not known for my generosity when it comes to giving a 5 star rating but at Mama Pho's I didn't have to think twice. Great food( Com ga Nuong - grilled chicken) excellent friendly staff in this picturesque corner restaurant. Can't wait till my next visit.

I used to come here before Covid, back then the food was very good and authentic. It was one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in London. We came here for lunch and I was surprised to see the place was pretty empty. It was always very packed, so busy that sometimes you had to queue outside. I ordered the grilled pork with rice, the pork was nice but the rice was very dry. My mum ordered the Bun Bo Hue. The waitress told her that they had run out of spice so the broth noodles won’t be spicy, she still ordered it. The Bun Bo Hue was awful, there was no spice, no lemongrass, the beef was not the right beef for the Bun Bo Hue. Very little broth and the broth was tasteless, my mum asked the waitress for more broth and she said the kitchen staff told her that if she wants more broth then she would have to pay extra for it!!! I have never heard of this and this place is obviously very stingy. The place was freezing, I asked the waitress to turn the air con off and to put the heating on. She said she would do it but didn’t, I then had to put my coat back on while I was eating. This is not correct and bad service, you do not leave the customers sitting freezing cold with their coats on! The waitress had her coat on too! Very weird and look unprofessional. We found out that the owner doesn’t do the cooking anymore, he hires other people to do it. Before the food was amazing when he used to do the cooking. I can see why it’s not busy as they have lost a lot of customers. The owners need to pay more attention to their business and need to hire new different kitchen staff cos the staff that were cooking our food do not know how to cook Vietnamese food. It’s a shame this place has gone downhill cos the food here used to be so good, so good that I used to recommend people to come here. We won’t be returning.

Good cheap Vietnamese food in a small cafe setup. Used to be second choice when Cafe East was too busy, but the food is now as good, a bit cheaper and still less busy then it's larger counterpart.

Used to love this place Food is great, but restraunt is freezing. i thought it was a temporary broken heating thing but been months now. Won't be back until its warm. All it needs is a space heater and a curtain on the door to stop the draft.

The most authentic south Vietnamese place in London. Amazing pho. Awesome bun. Huge portions, if you can handle them. From the long hallway to the bathroom with produce on the side, being the only white face in there, to the student staff that doesn't get all the English, this entire place feels like Viet Nam without the 12 hour flight. Go for bo bun hue. "Cam an" 🤙(with the shaking hand gesture) is thank you in Vietnamese. Order at the table, pay at the bar. Don't get long drinks with the pho.

Tiny place but with authentic Vietnamese cuisine the food was good the service super quick but the restaurant was tiny & did not have good ventilation.

Food was amazing! The pho was one of the best I had so far.. 2 mains for 24£ is also a great deal! They offer medium and large portions of pho.. the medium is 12£ and is abundant and delicious. The large one is definitely for sharing! It’s huge!! I recommend coming for the phos and sharing a couple of them on a cold day. Tiny restaurant with few seats but a great service and really efficient. Many people work in the kitchen, highlighting the food is authentic and well prepared. Only negative note for me was the music.. it would have been nice to either have something more carefully selected.

Very good, authentic Vietnamese food. Basic menu but interesting dishes.

The Beef Pho was average. The Ban Mi was a huge disappointment, the meat was paper thin and almost non existent. One of the waitresses was also very rude and surly, just putting the dishes down on the table randomly without asking whose order it was. Overall a bad experience, will not be returning and will not be recommending to anyone. Save your money find other places to eat.

I would highly recommend this Vietnamese restaurant. The food is amazing, good value for money and the staff are friendly. The only issue is that it can be hard to find parking and the space in the restaurant is quite small and cramped.

There are not many vegetarian options, but the few dishes on offer are very good and come in large portions. It is quite popular so you may have to queue and there is limited seating.

I ordered food of this cafe on Uber eats and after almost one hour the food is still preparing. I call the store and asked what happened and they said it is the delivery person’s fault and promised me that I will get my food in 5 minutes. Guess what? I did not get the food later, so I called them again and they told me the food is still preparing. I asked them to cancel the order and they agreed. But the restaurant still charged me for preparing food.

Stumbled upon this place quite randomly but yeh, really good and fresh. Seated promptly, served with a smile. For starters we had the spring rolls and tofu rolls. The dipping sauce with the tofu rolls was well nice. For mains I had the flash fried tofu with noodles. Usually I don't like tofu because it isn't seasoned enough. But yeah wasn't the case, these were packed with flavour. One of my mates had the Vietnamese Coffee and said it was good. Thanks!

This is my second visit and the food is still amazing! The staff are very helpful, not pushy and not in a rush for their customer to leave. Whilst I was waiting, the waiting staff just left a glass of tap water without asking whereas other restaurants will always wait for you to order and always bottled water to generate extra income! Must visit!

The soup was cold, it had leaked into the bag and the delivery man gave it here anyway. ridiculous and stupid! I do not recommend it to anyone!

I liked this place I went back again because the food is really good, but I was not happy because the server gave us a salad which I didn’t order, I told her I didn’t order this item and she said it came with one of the dishes I ordered. I was then approached 20 minutes into eating my food to inform me that they had given it to me and I would be charged ( I said I wasn’t paying for it). Also the Bahn mi was not a bahn mi at all. It had barely any filling and a very hard, dry roll not worth £8! Not sure if I’d go again, maybe find a different Vietnamese next time.

Mama Pho used to be the best around. Now the prices have gone up and whilst the food quality is still ok the portions are tiny. A £12 pork rice box comes with a small amount of rice and about 5 small bits of pork. Nam Nam down the road is £9.95 for better food and almost twice as much. Also the service is very odd

Entered the restaurant at 9:51PM. And we’re met with a waiter telling us that last order is at 9:45pm and they could not accommodate us. This was upsetting as their own website states 10:30pm closing and 10pm on google and 10:30pm here as well on TripAdvisor. Rather unprofessional and unapologetic staff. Please update your operating hours.

I'm a regular regular ( I'm there 3 times a week ) but I am not a fan of the recent prices raise for the exact same food. The workers are always very lovely and I tip on a regular basis but not sure now because of the raise. There's no loyalty card, no wifi and no plugs. Food is always good tho and it's a very nice places to eat out !

Nice little Vietnamese restaurant with such delicious food! Portion sizes were great and for the main dishes, you can choose to have it between jasmine rice not noodles. I have to say my favorite thing in all the dishes we ordered was the fish sauce! 😂😂 10/10 highly recommend this place if you’re ever in the SE area!!

Authentic Viet food, but they really need to up the cleanliness game. Ordered 4 times, and all 4 times the spring onions were not cleared properly and had dirt in it (thereby contaminating the entire noodle soup). Obviously gives you an upset stomach as well. Shame.

Terrible, my chicken curry was bland and served with the chicken skin, no tap water offered, then when I wanted to take the rest home with me they wanted to charge me for a takeaway box, never in my life I have ever had to pay for a takeaway box, won’t be returning

We are regular customers. At first really enjoyed the food and the experience. However, after a good few visits, we noticed that the portions were becoming smaller and often times garnish was missing (for pho soup), were only given when asked for it. Last visit was disappointing.

Fan of Pho? This is THE place to have some. The dishes are beautifully fresh and oh so tasty. At peak times there can be a queue outside but the wait doesn't tend to be long. If you're in the area then get to Cafe Mama Pho and you won't be disappointed.

Good pho broth… original. We tried the garlic chicken wings… they were good. I would recommend the vege spring rolls. Yum. Price wise… 👍🏻 consider it is in South Kensington. Will go again.

Like others have recently noted, the broth is no longer the same as before. When served, the broth was warm but not hot.

A small quaint Vietnamese restaurant and very packed for an Easter Monday! Can’t tell whether the food is authentic or not but it was decent. The Bun Cha had a good portion of pork and was flavorful but the spring rolls weren’t our fav and the Banh Xeo was lacking seasoning - other than that it was good!

Nice place! Far better than cafe east. Not stable in quality but the worst is better than cafe east no matter in pho or starter.

Love the BUN CHA GIO THIT NUONG. Nice and friendly atmospher Update 2023 Went there Partner and I we have to eat in jackets on as there was no heating switched on. Prices are up but quality down.

We haven't been since after the refurbishments... Food is still authentic and taste good but the portions are questionable as I ordered a large pho but it feels the food quantity is the same as regular but the bowl is just bigger! Staff is ok and interior is more with the times now. They also got us a high chair for our youngest. The normal seating also has a very clever storage bit under the padding.

Great food and good value. Yummy fish sauce chicken wings, great Bun Cha and serious bun Bo hue. The large really is LARGE - so bear that in mind when ordering.

For a change of scenery, I tried this restaurant and had the chicken. They were so nice, I could eat them every day and the noodle soup was good

Cafe Mama Pho (Deptford branch) is a little Vietnamese cafe serving freshly prepared Pho, summer rolls and special Vietnamese special drinks, etc. The staff are passionate and friendly. Delicious takeaway is also available. Highly recommended dish: grilled lemongrass pork and spring roll noodles salad.

Frequent this place, food is nice but charges me for extra soup when the difference is probably only 20-30ml extra. Definitely not going to come as frequent.

Lucky me live close to amazing resturant that is mona pho.i order veggie spring rolls to start and tofu and rice.so happy that i never order any thing else.i sit solo on phone watching utube.friendy staff always make me feel comfortable.this place is my treat to myself after a full day at work.thankyou.x in my eyes you can do no wrong.

Update a month later: They have changed the broth and I'm disappointed, now the soup lacks depth and barely had any of those aromatics I mentioned before. Pho: Not only they follow the authenticity of Vietnamese Pho taste, they also added their own spin in the Beef broth. Love the added aromatics and fattiness that enriches it so much more in depth.! Chicken Pho is very good as well, only if there were more fattiness like skin and chicken oil that would be more authentic, but this is UK so I understand. Don't bother ordering any starters cuz none of them were good.

...Speechless . That's how I reacted when my food arrived. The absolutely soft, tender chicken had been perfectly organised in my bowl along side the vermicelli noodles and vegetables.The ✨Com GA Nuong✨ dish is the way to go if you're coming here. The dish is amazing and I say that with confidence. I came here with some friends and they were equally as in love with the food. On top of this, they are generous with their toppings. I've been to quite a lot of places where although the broth is good, the toppings don't balance the soup itself and can sometimes be a let down. However, seeing my friend's bowl, the toppings to broth ratio was perfect. Lastly, the interior decoration really is something , it's so relaxing,chill and is somewhat timeless. Loved it<3

Siamo arrivati alle 9.25 e siamo stati accolti male perché la chiusura del ristorante era alle 10. All’arrivo della cameriera c’è stato detto che potevamo scegliere di prendere solo le zuppe , così lo abbiamo fatto . Zuppe buone , peccato che mentre mangiavamo c’erano persone che pulivano e spostavano i tavoli ed erano le 9.45. Abbiamo lasciato le zuppe , pagato e siamo andati via . Almeno per le 10 sono andati a casa ☺️

One of the staffs couldn’t stop coughing and another staff with a bad attitude. She looked at us with a scowl and told us at 10:04 pm that the restaurant has closed at 10pm, implied we have to leave, while one of us was still finishing the last chicken wing.

I went there thinking it will be opened as stated in google maps but the shop next door said it is now closed permanently. Nothing written on the shop, no message on Google map. No publication. Very disappointing to be so unprofessional not to warn your customers.

This place used to be good. However the pork rice I ordered for takeaway was so disappointing. The portion does not match with its price. It is so expensive to pay for a meal that wont even fill your stomach. The pork itself is very dry too, taste was ok. The pork was thin lol I understand cost has increased but with this portion.. seriously?The side salad potion shrink to nearly nothing. Disappointed experience and will not order again.

Pho broth is nice, but the chicken was disgusting no breast meat and just really horrible, sadly won’t be coming back.

Mama pho used to be reasonable with their portions and price. I am a regular customer but this time is my very last time I'll be going here as the price gone up crazy and the portion has gone next to nothing.

One of the best Vietnamese place I’ve been to in London! 😋 Very nice and cozy restaurant interior and their food is so amazing and authentic ! (Lived in Vietnam for a year and Im a pho-fanatic) Highly recommend trying their pho (as their name is mama pho ☺️) and ban cuon as starter! I will be back soon to try their Bun Cha as well! 💫🙌🏻

October 2022 we had a delicious lunch here and would definitely visit again. Service was very pleasant and beer went down a treat.

Cafe Mama Pho is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in London. I discovered this place by accident and what a place! I will recommend their Pho, the best on the menu so far. The mango salad is delicious and you can combine them with some spring rolls. The curry was ok, not the best one but still delicious. The place is small but charming and the service is excellent.

Had pho ga. It was nice. I asked them to make it little hot and spice and they added so many chillies. Anyways i like hot, so enjoyed it. The portion size is good. I was not able to finish all.
