Maloko in Southwark

Maloko were kind enough to host a birthday lunch for my 2 year old. The space was perfect for it. The chef was really accommodating and the food was fantastic! They were so patient with us, especially given the lack of notice I gave them. I’ve eaten at Maloko several times over the last few years and the food is always delicious. Everything is cooked fresh so it’s not a place to go to if you want to eat in a hurry, but the warm atmosphere and quality of food is worth the wait.

Dirty place, will not go back there

Such a brilliant cafe, with tasty galettes (lots of vegan options) and incredible juices. We loved the artwork on the walls. Highly recommend!

Just love everything about this place. Especially love coming here when it's dull & grey outside as it has a feeling of sunshine. My favourite place in the neighbourhood. Wholesome food & smoothies served with a smile.

SOUL FOOD X Very homely atmosphere, The chef was very polite and explained everything really well. We ordered two homemade juices (absolutely delish) and two galettes. The food was delicious and made with love. We will definitely be back ! Also , great price xx

Lovely in there and great fresh teas

Authentic, local business, full of beautiful character, a bit of an oasis in the neighborhood, and the maybe only place in Camberwell where you can drink a cup of tea later in the day outside where everywhere else only sells alcohol Service needs to improve though, currently I feel it takes way too long, getting orders wrong, and doesn't speak much English.

연어 들어간 메뉴 맛있어요. ㅎㅎ 여러 명이 동시에 주문하면 시간이 좀 걸리고, 안에서 먹으면 옷에 냄새 배는 게 좀 아쉬운 점이에요. ㅎㅎ

Food was amazing and the staff were really warm and welcoming. Loved the selection juices and gallettes, can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. Really good prices too!

The food was surprisingly great, especially on my first encounter was only with the chef,who took my order,and helped me to decode the menu.i ended taking a recommendation.due to the subdued lighting ,which gave the restaurant a chilaxed environment, unfortunately interrupted by the loud music coming out of the kitchen,Looking on the bright side it made the chef real happy playing music from Niger Alongside the food which I was told is like comparison to a jazz fusion of music,highly influenced by Persian take of a wrap,from experienced resembled the Ethiopian flat bread I had.i found the wrap quite spicy ,but not to the point that it takes your head off...The food could be a tad bit hotter.. I had the freshest/ strongest combination of mint ,and ginger tea,Which I'm quite confident was from their own garden...most fresh ,and powerful... Now for the conclusion would I return back for the avocado combo dish,maybe ...hopefully this time I will be greeted by the waitress at the beginning,and not when I wanted the bill...I found the waitress to be the most bubbly person,but could not ascertain how I slipped through without her noticing me...Maybe I came as the invisable man, or she was too busy chilling with who I found out later to be the owner...who pleasantly thanked me for coming.. Final conclusion the way I noticed the mild traffic of people coming in,felt like a community spirited hang out spot,whereby this place was compassionate enough to allow people to chilax, irrespective of the loud music,it didn't seem to bother the rest of the patrons.I guess their used to it...

A really nice local resturant, friendly staff. We found this by accident (advantages accident!). Food was was tailored to our requirements. Bottle of good wine very reasonably priced.

Cozy restaurant. I like the atmosphere and the great selection of music. The food and drinks are very healthy. I was there on Sunday night and it was not crowded. I had the Maloko Special and a fresh juice (not sure which one because I told the waiter to choose for me), both were delicious. The portion was big so I didn't finish it. The price is also good 8£ crepes and 4£ for juice.

Immaculate place. Beautiful food, awesome vibes and the owner was so welcoming. 100% will be going back and can't wait to bring all my friends and family! Can't believe I've lived in Brixton for a year and not been yet! Can't recommend this enough. Had the jerk goat and a refresher juice - inject it into my veins, beautiful!

Great little cafe. African French fusion food. Everything is so tasty. And amazing fresh juice at £4 each! Would defo come back again!

People of London I urge you to try this amazing restaurant if you want to feel at home and have food made with so much love it gives you butterflies! We had some amazing vegan and vegetarian galettes and crepes for dessert everything was delicious and the owner that cooked for us was so cheerful and accommodating. From the starters/mains/desserts and drinks everything was 1000/100 brilliant and if I could dine there every day I would. Not only was the food delicious, vegan and the atmosphere was amazing but the message they try to achieve being zero waste with second hand furniture and growing their own fruit and vegetable made it the perfect restaurant for me!

Came here yesterday. Lovely cafe with some funky furniture and edgy style. Food and service was great and the prices were very reasonable. Loved the cute lamps and that I could grab a book from the little library and relax. Definitely recommend and we will be back 😁

I’ve been to this place every single month for the last 2 years, and I don’t plan on stopping that any time soon! lovely service by the guys that run the place, and some of the most delicious galettes I’ve ever had. Fresh ingredients every time and everything prepared with care. Plus the decoration is so creative, they even have a little Louvre in the bathroom. Highly recommend their juices as well :)

One of my favorite places to get work done in Camberwell. It's peaceful, the staff was so pleasant, and the food and drink are great. Everything is made to order, so expect a bit of a wait of its busy.

The place doesn't offer a breakfast service anymore. Yesterday (Saturday 10/12/22) I saw someone inside at 11am but the sign said closed. Went back at 12:45 and they were still closed

Don't come here in a rush, but otherwise fantastic place. The asparagus galette I got was delicious and very filling. The place is comfortable and relaxed, and folks there were friendly. Loved it!

I LOVE this place. The vibes are so good! I recommend going here if you are feeling a bit blue and need cheering up! I didn't eat anything but the coffee was great and what other people were eating looked lovely. The staff are very happy, chilled and friendly and the music and art make this place a cut above the rest. Oh and they have actually comfortable seats/ sofas if you want to curl up with a good book for a few hours. I will definitely come back next time I am in London. Thanks for the great vibes!

First of all, I love the art on the walls. I had the jerk galette. The flavors were perfectly balanced. The outside was nutty. The inside was filled with delicious vegetables and just enough sauce. Beautiful presentation too. The ginger tea was intense, but warming in the cold weather. Kwame, the person serving and preparing the food, was a delight to chat with. I wish I lived in London so I could go back more often!

This place has a great vibe that starts instantly with the barmaid welcoming us with a friendly smile. The atmosphere is relaxed with a nice background music. The food and the juices are fresh and naturally delicious. It was worth waiting for it, we could tell that the food was made with love.

Very relaxed environment full of succulents, chill music, and interesting artwork. It's all cheap vegetarian and vegan food, with plenty of gluten free options and good service by the chef. We love it! Only downside is that a ramp for the entrance is not installed when it very easily could be as it isn't a huge step.

Waiter is trying to get women’s numbers and message them at night. Unbelievable. Respect people’s right to be in peace.

Fabulous pancakes. Strange tableware and great, upbeat decor. Staff are super lovely - friendly. Seems to be just 1 guy doing waiting, cooking and bill, so service isn't the fastest. But it's good to be able to relax and look around while there. The chilli is very hot BTW.

Had a really lovely time at Maloko. The service firstly is absolutely fantastic. And the atmosphere is really lovely. Felt relaxed from walking in the door. We ordered the Farinata to start and then the Vegan Route and Carribbean Twist. The food was beautifully presented. The starter was okay, could have been a bit more tasty, but the main course and dessert were delicious. Also the portions are really generous and it is such good value. Loved it. Will come back again.

Lovely little place, quirky, colourful, friendly and chill. We sat outside after lounging inside for a bit, it's a busy road but it didn't bother us. Delicious crepe, although I'd opt for flour next time. Enjoy!!

So ein unglaubliches Essen aus einem kleinen, bescheidenen Restaurant! Ich bin immer an diesem Restaurant vorbeigegangen, sogar als Kind vor 20 Jahren, und habe mir nie zu viel dabei gedacht - aber das bereue ich! Ich kann nicht beschreiben, wie wirklich lecker und sättigend das Essen in Loving Hut ist, es ist kein Wunder, dass sie schon so lange dort sind, wo sie sind. Mit dem frischen, leckeren und köstlichen Essen von Loving Hut können Sie selbst die härtesten Fleischesser hier leicht täuschen. Das Essen kommt super schnell und ist so günstig für die Portionsgröße, die man bekommt. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Nice little cafe. And staff are really friendly and provides us with good service. Like the decor. The hot chocolate and the crepe ordered weren’t the best unfortunately. The banoffee crepe has crunch apple piece in it. Think it would taste better if the texture was matched with the pancake and banana.

Delicious vegetarian and vegan food. Healthy galettes and not quite so healthy dessert crepes! Freshly made juice, spicy hot chocolate. All made with love. Great value. Idiosyncratic little place with mismatch furniture and cheerful music blaring from the kitchen, bright murals decorate the walls. Friendly, laid back staff. One set of table and chairs outside.

Among the worst customer service ever received. I went yesterday with some friends for a quick lunch. Highlights: 1. We had to wait 15 minutes to order and 55 minutes for food; 2. Two of us got served and the third in the group had to wait 15 additional minutes (so she got served when we had finished our food!) 3. I tried to have one ingredient removed from my order, and I was told that was impossible. I am not really sure how not adding spinach to a galette stuffing is impossible, but hey. 4. We asked for the bill and had to wait additional 5 minutes (by this time the place was empty and we could hear staff happily chatting away in the kitchen). When I got up and ask to pay, I was looked down at like I had thrown a dead parrot on the floor. 5. I asked to pay by card (the card machine was clearly visible on the counter) but (once again) treating like a pariah. 6. We tried to use the South London Card but told (guess in what tone?!) that that was never something they accepted it. Funny, cause the South London Card website begs to differ... 7. While we were there, at least 3 people left cause they got tired of waiting The food was nice, but more than 2 hours for a quick bite, horribly rude service, I will never go back in that place, not even if dragged in kicking and screaming!

Dismal experience. Urge you to avoid this place. The crepes suzette was dry and tasteless with no sauce. It had lemon not orange on it. When I politely explained that it wasn't crepes suzette I was ordered into the kitchen and aggressively shouted at by the chef, demanding that I leave before he “did something he regretted”. I then heard him shouting at other customers asking if they were unhappy as we swiftly made our way. I've read other reviews reporting confrontation too. Steer clear.

Delicious vegan gallette (crepe) with wonderful filling of jerk tofu, sweet potato, spinach and mushroom. Fresh juices. Fantastic and relaxed vibe.

Omg the food was delicious and it was vegan I was totally surprised the place is real cosy and there is a beautiful atmosphere and the owner is a lovely guy who works hard freshly preparing and cooking and serving the food

Crepe admittedly was tasty but the customer experience was woefully bad! In desperate need of customer service skills and training! Somewhat concerned about the hygiene standards being applied, both money and raw food are treated with the same hands! I won’t be going back which is sad as I would sincerely like to support this independent and quite unique enterprise especially as it’s on my doorstep!

I have found that the staff are always friendly and efficient even when they are short staffed ! . I find the interior of the restaurant very relaxing because there is a cosy comfortable sofa to sit on if you wish . The cafe is also full of brightly colourful art work . The cafe serves lovely piping hot vegetarian or vegan savoury crepes that are freshly made to order . The portions are very generous so you not feel hungry if you do not have a sweet crepe got desert . I think that this cafe is great because it caters for people who would like to be healthy as it serves salad with the savoury crepe plus you can leave out or add to the ingredients . The cafe also sells herbal teas and also fresh juice which can be considered sweet or healthy . The cafe is also very reasonably priced .
