Really nice people, really nice food, I would highly recommend.

The food is delicious. It is the best in the area for Chinese food. I highly recommend any of the house's special spring rolls, duck, crispy beef and rice, our standard go-to items off the menu. We often order deliveries, and the wait time is short. The staff are friendly, and I would highly recommend Malacca.

Food was good but the size portion is not matching with its price hence the 4 stars. There’s a lot of options from the menu that you could try for and I found the dishes a lovely comfort food and the staff are very attentive. I will visit again!

We came to this gem of a restaurant for my husbands birthday on the 10 th January. The service was first class and it made it feel a really special occasion. The food was presented beautifully and tasted divine. It was our first visit and we were warmly welcomed by the team. The menu has so much variety and it was hard to choose what to have. There were generous portions and the food was artistically presented. We can't wait to go back again.

We all thoroughly enjoyed this meal. The food was so fresh and tasty. Best we have had. We visited based on food reviews. The lack of a website was a question for us but the people were so friendly and helpful and the food delicious. You cannot go wrong here. We will definitely be visiting again. Beef rendang was amazing.

Excellent restaurant!! Easily the best Chinese (predominantly) in the area and definitely on par with The Ivy Asia in Guildford. Fabulous tastes, beautifully served, speedy service - perhaps a tad pricey but you get what you pay for! Can’t wait till we can afford it again!!!!!

Food was mediocre and over priced. Staff we not attentive and no atmosphere at all.

Had a takeaway - Lamb Thai Red Curry. Flavours were great, meat was tender. Price was good. Timing for collection was perfect. Thanks a lot!

This is definitely the best Chinese restaurant I have been to outside of chinatown!! Incredible food quality and freshly made with zero MSG. Brilliant service and jasmine tea is excellent too.

Really liked the food, much better standard than most other local places. Ate here mid week, it was quiet so service was fast and food came out quickly. Staff were polite, smart and attentive. Food was lovely, one of the best Asian restaurants I've been to. Had mixed starter, the roast duck curry then banana fritter. All were excellent. Worth the trip if you're in the area.

The best beef in black bean sauce I've ever had. The beef was really tender. Staff very friendly and excellent service. If you're in Farnborough and fancy a Chinese Meal you can't go wrong.

The food was nice, the showmanship put on by the staff was OK and the restaurant was very nicely fitted out but the prices were rather high ie a dish of egg fried rice was about double the price that i would normally pay at my normal chinese restaurant plus the other items on the menu were a tad over the top on compared prices elsewhere then you get hit with a service charge on top would we go there again, well the answer is no

Visited malacca while in the area on Friday evening. Enjoyed the mixed starter plate, the ribs and satay chicken were exceptional, perfectly cooked, we shared sweet and sour chicken, crispy chilli beef, Thai green curry and nasi goreng rice for mains. The flavours were amazing and the combinations of all the colours worked perfectly. The staff were friendly and always on hand. Great experience all round. Only downside in our opinion was charging £3 each for glasses of soda water to accompany our wine! Alongside a 10% service charge which I never like and would rather make up my own mind on whether to reward good service. Lovely evening though, highly recommend.

Top notch Asian food including Chinese, Malaysian and Thai culinary delights. I've eaten here only two times and my wife and I have been delighted by the presentation and taste of the food we have chosen to eat. The service is great and the white wines are nicely chilled.

What a lovely place. The food is fantastic and service is impeccable. Its a nice small restaurant, that you would drive past and not even notice it. But would highly recommend it for a nice meal with a loved one.

Small portions for what you pay, seems over priced

It's disappointing Chinese food. Chicken dishes were dry and basic, and the drinks were poor and expensive. The food was okay, but we paid £100 for 2 people? Cost a lot of money for something you can get from a local Chinese delivery for a lot less and better quantity and quality.

third time eaten here as convenient. prices are high. portions are small. selection is okay. this place needs to revise what it was wants to be. simple cheap or is it meant to be a real quality fusion restaurant. they need to decide if they are going to jnvest and justify the prices or accept that they are just a cheap average restaurant now and charge those prices.

All I can say is Wow. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. The staff were extremely welcoming and answered any questions about the food. The price is reasonable, however I’d pay double if I receive the same quality when I return in September 2023. The atmosphere was good, cleanliness was very good. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

Food is not bad, though with a name like Malacca, their Malaysian dishes of sambal prawn and mee goreng were kind of bland. The restaurant while clean and pleasant to sit in could really do with some soft fabrics/sound dampening. The all tile/hard surfaces really made all the voices amplified and it was louder than being in a Karaoke lounge. Impossible to hear myself, much less other people at my table.

There is absolutely no ambiance in this Resturant. It’s cold and unfriendly. The staff hover around all the time looking to remove your plates before you’ve swallowed your last mouthful.. They removed the table mats and were wiping the tables down when we hadn’t even paid yet, Nice food and not cheap, but spoilt by their lack of hospitality. We.ll give this a miss when fancying a Chinese in future..

Had a delightful meal with family the food was lovely and hot and full of flavour and the staff are very attentive and always made sure that you drink was full. But the place lack a little something, a bit of atmosphere and ambiance as well as slightly more comfortable chairs I mean Coushons???? That being said I left with a full belly and enjoyed every bit EXCEPT some orange fish dish lol Make sure you visit you won’t regret it!

Great meal, lovely warm staff. It's just for the acoustics that give me trouble to hear the people at my table. Despite this, cannot recommend highly enough.

Way overpriced for the food..£80 on 2 people for 5 dishes and 1 beer and one coke. Small dishes as well and the satay chicken tasted like old smelly socks

Ive been spoiled with Chinese food, having grown up practising Wing Chun and spending a huge amount of my formative years with Chinese people and I rarely find anywhere outside of London which offers not just the quality of food, but traditional service, right down to the jasmine tea not arriving in a teabag. Thanks for a great meal for my wife's birthday. 🙏

After many years not going out much we de died to take our family and two grandsons here again for a family treat together, a party of 8. I am vegan and one of our grandsons is celiac and the owner was so understanding about our dietary needs and was extremely good with the. Elias choice and so much choice. Malacca always does good food. It has a nice lively ambience, and you can tell how popular it is by how crowded it is on weekends.

I would say good atmosphere to eat. It's not authentic authentic. It's more fusion. If you are looking for authentic taste not the one. Portions are really really small for the price we pay. Services are great. They should amend the prices, just my suggestion

Starters were ok but not special and main course was disappointing. Meat was dry and each meal sort of tasted the same and not distinct. Drinks were warm we had a room temperature coke with no ice and a slightly cold Prosecco. This is a shame as staff were friendly and attentive.

Went to Malacca for my 50th Birthday, walked out in disgust the service was terrible and the food turned up but by bit? Thought I was going out for a lovely meal left hungry completely disappointed. Would never recommend anyone going there!

Malacca implies this is a Malaysian restaurant. My wife grew up in Malaysia and I've visited several times so we know our beef rendang from our nasi lemak. We'd talked about trying this for years. Being up front it was Saturday and busy. First the place felt like an office, beige/white, open, sterile feel with stark lighting (+ a bit chilly). Apart from the poor ambience it meant as the restaurant filled it became 'very' noisy. Service like many Chinese restaurants is quick, efficient but lacking warmth (don't expect anyone to ask how your meal was or smile). Food was poor to average Chinese Cantonese stye not Malay/Indonesian - chicken satay should be moist& succulent eg thigh grilled with a rich peanut sauce but this was fried breast meat with a gloopy jar type sauce ie rubbish. Beef rendang should be in a spiced sauce with coconut & tender beef chunks - theirs was thin sliced (possibly) fried beef in a non descript brown sauce and you had to look for the meat among a lot of sliced onions. Also the Sambal prawns weren't great. The final kick in the 'n..s' - the bill @ £70 for 2 of us (£9.50 for 4 satay, £11 for 2 rice and a cheeky 10% service charge). Couldn't wait to leave. Never again.

One of the best Asian restaurants in the UK!

An absolute gem in Farnborough. Really high quality and fresh food rather than deep fried that you can get in a lot of Chinese places. Really authentic food and they’ve clearly got a talented kitchen. The aromatic duck was really well prepared with plenty of hoisin sauce and pancakes. If you like well cooked Chinese cuisine then it’s a must visit. Superb. The staff are very professional and welcoming too. A well ran place. Only downside is it can get very loud in there. Bare walls without pictures etc so acoustics aren’t great. Could do with some decorations or coverings to absorb the sound.

Great food- the sea spiced scallops were excellent. Good wine selection and service. Only problem is the acoustics- the noise is too much.

We ordered from the a la carte menu. Food (dishes) were tasty. Portion sizes were smaller than similar restaurants we've been to. Prices are much more dearer. Surprised to see £5.10 for a small bowl of boiled rice. Usually ~ £3 in most London Malaysian restaurant. Didn't help that the boiled rice wasn't fresh and was hard and dry. Judging on taste, portion size and price unfortunately can't say we would be going back. Gave 3 star only because of the service.

Malacca has to be the best South East Asian restaurant I have been to. The food was very fresh, you could tell everything was hand made and not bought from wholesale suppliers. The service was very impeccable and very friendly. The restaurant catered to allergies and took it very seriously, advising me they are very strict, cleaning a section of their kitchen and only allowing certain staff to handle food for the allergy sufferer. I can highly recommend this restaurant if you want genuine south East Asian food (Chinese, Malaysian, Thai, etc). 6* out of 5! We will be back tomorrow! Thank you very much!

A traditional Chinese restaurant, with very good food ad a large selection. The restaurant has almost no decoration or internal design, and no noise absorption - functional only. It's not a place for a romantic dinner but a good place for the hungry people who wants a quick service.

Very exquisite dinner tonight at Malacca, the staff were friendly, the drinks are wonderful, the food was fabulous! The flavours packed a punch, and the dishes tasted truly homemade, not like other restaurants which they taste similar. I can see why this is the best restaurant in Farnborough, we will be looking at coming back again!

Honestly the best ever. I can not pick my favourite dish this evening, everything was so fresh and full of flavour. Staff so friendly and efficient. Our new place to visit as often as possible Thankyou guys, you rock. X

Due to a local event was very busy for a Thursday night. However food was delicious, staff were absolutely lovely, atmosphere enjoyable. Get the seabass in tamarind!

My Dad and I had dinner here, the service is friendly and efficient. There is a good selection of dishes on the menu at reasonable prices. We had a set menu which was more than enough food but let’s us try lots of dishes from the menu. Would return but were only visiting the area.

Amazing food. This has been my favourite local restaurant for more than 10 years and nothing has changed. I got my 11 year-old son to try it for the first time recently and he went crazy for it, said it was one of the best dishes he's ever had. If you like Chinese, Malaysian, Thai or Japanese food you should try this place, it's a cut above the competition 🙏

We met some friends here for a catch up the other day. Had not been for a few years and were pleasantly surprised that the service and politeness were still as good. The food was excellent and there was an extensive menu. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night and due to the acoustic quality of the room, consequently noisy. However, despite being busy, we were not rushed through our meal.

Fresh food and fast service, kitchen closes at 10.00 pm … a great exception in the area where most shut earlier. Absolutely no complain, other than the portion size is very small for the price. All together a very good meal and will return when visiting

Consistently good food & plenty of varieties of starters followed by various meat/fish/veggie main course options. Not cheap but quality over quantity applies here.

We had a belated Christmas meal here , the setting was good with the table quite close together I would call snug. The food was excellent especially the sharing platters. The only downside was the waiter who I would class as a bully making us...

OMG! This is the tastiest meal i have had in a long time. I was craving 'clean' but flavourful food this evening and my goodness, have i got what i wanted. I chose Thai seafood dishes and ate with my eyes closed half the time to fully appreciate the experience. (try it sometime😉). Great friendly service, great value, and the best food. I wish this restaurant was in my home town. But I'll be back for sure...

The atmosphere was quite pleasant and clean. There appeared to be a good attention to cleanliness, actually. But more important, of course, was the food quality. There's nothing to worry about here, as it was all quite yummy. My wife did complain that the crispy duck wasn't crispy enough for her, but I think that's just because I may have stolen all the really good crispy bits. All in all, it's worth giving this place a try if you're in the area.

Chinese New year 2022. The restaurant was packed (with East Asians, including myself, which is always a good sign) but that compromise the service and quality of food. It was SO tasty, fresh, and the tea and tableware were refreshed regularly. Great menu. Not huge but had everything we wanted and some new items we hadn't tried before. They even packed my leftovers up to take home. I think this has become my new goto Chinese restaurant outside London. Loved it. Highly highly recommend.
