Mains of Taymouth Courtyard Restaurant in Perth & Kinross

Had a great meal and drinks in the bar, which was so cosy due to open ‘fire pit’. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was delicious - hot, good portions and well presented. Plenty of choices. Dog friendly too which was a bonus.

Had a lovely evening and meal here. Service and food was great. Was a lovely atmosphere with the fire pit burning away in the middle of the room.

Had a coffee. Not bad tasted like coffee. Had Victoria sandwich cake….dry tasteless no cream and a sliver of jelly suggesting an attempt at jam. Walnut and coffee cake, tasted a little of coffee, not sure where the walnuts were, dry and quite revolting. All in all a complete waste of money.

This was just an impromptu spur-of-the-moment visit, as we were hungry after exploring. Cosy atmosphere inside, plus nice comfy sofa- seats , and great service from a very pleasant , smiley young lady. We didn’t want a meal per-se , so opted for the chicken mayo sandwiches 🥪 that came with chips - but tbh they were really meals in themselves, as the sarnies were generously packed with filling, and the chips were perfectly done. Will definitely return when next in this lovely area.

We visited a couple of times when staying in The Kenmore Club. Staff were lovely, the steak pie is so tasty! A bit of a captive audience in such a small place but great place to have.

We used the restaurant twice during our stay, the food was excellent and everyone enjoyed each dish they ordered. The staff were very helpful and polite. Excellent service.

We were welcomed by a friendly young man who appeared to be employed as doorman and sole waiter. Service was very slow. Quality of food very mixed: fish and chips and Thai curry were good, venison casserole a bit tough but tasty, steak-frites inedible and was sent back. The replacement, which was brought to the table when the rest of our party had long finished their meal, wasn't much better. An apology from management would have been appreciated. We decided to have dessert at home.

I can’t rate this wee jewel of a restaurant highly enough! During our Kenmore holiday, we had 2 evening meals in the Courtyard, and each one was just lovely. Friendly, welcoming staff, delicious food, and 5 star service. We ate in the restaurant the first time. As a party of 7, with kids, young adults, parents and grandparents, they couldn’t do enough for us. 2 of the grandpas had mobility issues; they gave us an accessible table, room to park the wheelie zimmer and assorted walking sticks! Menus were produced, and the family photos were taken by the attentive staff. We had fish and chips which would have fed a family of four, delicious tender steaks, fragrant curries and haggis in a variety of ways, smoked salmon, all scrumptious . A decent quality of wine, soft drinks, and the bill did not at all break the bank. Our second visit was impromptu. After a very disappointing and abortive visit to the Waterfront across the road, with dreadful service, we asked if the Courtyard could accommodate us for dinner. Despite being fully booked, and at no notice whatsoever, they rejigged tables in the bar, again found space for the mobility aids and served all 7 of us a lovely meal. They really saved the last night of our holiday, and helped us celebrate a very special family occasion, all with warmth, professionalism and great service. Our young waiter Aonghas was a joy. Helpful, cheerful and very organised. We will definitely be back to this lovely establishment which treats its customers so well and has a happy, dedicated staff team! Thank you!

Went into have late lunch 3.45 , to be told that wether weren’t serving food , taking a break from serving as they had been busy , and want to catch up in the kitchen for the evening , I pointed out that it says they serve from 12pm to 10.30 , the manager says this is normally the case , but too busy today , need to take a break. I was very disappointed at this response , she asked me to come back after 5pm , absolutely unacceptable,

I was on the lookout for ice cream and popped in while passing to ask if they done ice cream to go, I was told yes I just had to order at the bar. I was greeting by a helpful girl who informed me of the flavours and told me that it would be in a takeaway coffee cup which was fine. Whist she was away making the ice cream I was met by another member of staff (not as chirpy as the first person) who held out the card machine and said “you’re £8 all together”. I’ve now got to where I’m going, opened the 2 cups of ice cream to find out I’d just paid £8 for 4 scoops. £2 a scoop! Absolute madness, yous should be embarrassed, definitely seen me coming!

Booked in for a family meal for 15 people. 3 courses and every dish that came out was just fabulous. Waiting staff, bar staff and management couldn't have been better. Service with a smile, they went above and beyond for all our needs. Couldn't recommend them more. Really good quality meals and very good value. Won't hesitate coming back or recommending

Fue la unica opcion para comer en Kenmore,o sea que no pudimos elegir.El sitio es acogedor,pero nosotros eramos 5 y nos acomodaron en los sofas,que eran bastante incomodos para comer porque la mesa era pequeña,y tampoco nos ofrecieron una de las mesas normales cuando se vaciaron.Tiene un billar que hizo las delicias de los niños.El servicio,normal.En cuanto al pedido,el mac & cheese y el fish&chips estaban bastante buenos,pero los scampi tenian un regusto raro y la sopa del dia (menestra) tenia un sabor demasiado fuerte,tambien pedimos salmon ahumado pero en lugar de eso me sirvieron salmon desmigado…Todos estos platos,mas 2 pintas,unos 75euros aprox.

Stopped of here on our way back to our holiday apartment at loch tay marina as we fancied a spot of lunch. This is a large complex with accommodation, shop , bar restaurant etc. The weather was glorious and sunny so pretty busy but we fancied sitting inside in the shade so it was not a problem getting a table. Food is of the pub grub/ bistro style and seemed to be popular with customers! I had a veg burger and it was presented nicely , good portions and tasted very nice ! Staff were pleasant and helpful too. Had a wee wander round the shop also which had plenty supplies as well as touristy stuff. Would go back again, looks a nice spot for a evening meal also !

27th May - 03rd June Absolutely loved having lunch here and was lucky to have great weather so lunch was outside Ordering was from the Main Bar - only one person serving (she worked really hard and always with a smile) Outside you could - visit the Ice Cream place - what a dream with the hot weather. Stopped for lunch today and found the waitress very abrupt and non welcoming, Having visited the Courtyard, several times a year for the last 8/9 years, the staff were always welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately this was not the case today! We had the dogs with us and sat outside, when we went to the bar to order, we said we were sitting outside, Lee were abruptly asked if were we were sitting within their allocated area. In visiting previously we knew which is the allocated area was but for anyone new to the courtyard or indeed Kenmore they may not have known this. We were then handed our condiment’s, cutlery and coffees without a tray! From visiting before the service was always friendly and welcoming, this unfortunately was not the case today! Customer service would be beneficial.

The redecoration of the place has really changed the atmosphere for the better and the food and service matched this! Well worth a visit when in the area!

We tried this venue as we are renting a cottage at the Mains of Taymouth Estates.Perhaps we picked an especially bad night, but in between the loud music, and two very loud parties around us, we could not hear ourselves talking. Combined with average, overpriced food, this was a poor experience.

We had a lovely visit for dinner and ate in the brasserie. The staff were welcoming, attentive, friendly and really good with the children in our group too. The menu catered for everything we needed/wanted and the standard was really good. Prices also reasonable. The brasserie was very cosy on a cold, rainy night and we loved the smell of the wood burners. Beautifully decorated and really comfortable, we all enjoyed and will be back.

Ate here with a group during half term hols. The interior is really nicely done and makes for a nice dining experience. Attentive service and lovely food. Would recommend...the shop is lovely too and again filled with friendly helpful staff.

Having come here for many years now, it is clear to see The Courtyard Restaurant has had some money spent on it to spruce it up and a new chef who clearly has very good standards. Having visited last September and enjoyed our meal my wife and I were looking forward to this years visit and felt lucky to reserve a table at the Mains of Taymouth Courtyard Restaurant as the choice restaurants in Kenmore is extremely limited, unfortunately this is where our luck ran out.I ordered the club sandwich thinking that it would be served with the usual 3 slices of bread containing the turkey, lettuce and bacon, the filling was sandwiched between 2 slice of panini bread that was so difficult to cut I gave up on the bottom slice.My wife ordered the goats cheese sandwich asking for no onions, the sandwich arrived and she immediately tasted onions so it looks like the sandwich had been prepared with onions in place then removed, she complained and got a fresh sandwich but again the panini bread was extremely difficult to cut, both sandwiches were not worth the money.All in all very disappointing and expensive for what you get.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here with our 6 month old son. Very accommodating and friendly staff who provided great service throughout. Food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and enjoyable. The only aspect which we picked up on was the lack of masks being worn by other customers inside the restaurant when walking about, this was not picked up on by staff members.

If you are visiting or staying in Kenmore finding places to eat is a major issue so please be organised and book as much in advance as you can. We were lucky to get a table at 6.45pm Wednesday and the food and service was great. No pressure to rush but swift enough service when needed, waitresses couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. Well done to all concerned.

Spent two evening at the Courtyard - fish and chips and flatiron steak and chips with 3 girlfriends of many years- really tasty along with lovely pale rose wine and a few cocktails.service so friendly and welcoming too - well done to the new owners will be back soon and will tell all that the Courtyard is back at the top of the list in Kenmore

Had a lovely family meal at Mains in Kenmore. The veggie options were better here than several other places (said my wife) but I can also confirm that the burgers were lovely!

We came here and sat outside with our family and our dog, the food was really nice, the staff were lovely, and it was a very chilled out place. There was a bit of confusion over our order but these were sorted without any issues. I would definitely come back

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Courtyard - courtyard burger, chicken burger, BLT sandwich, turkey sandwich & children’s Mac& cheese - all very delicious. The chips were lovely too. The homemade chicken burger was really good (I had that ;) )

Lovely hostess, tasty food and really chilled atmosphere, all in the family loved it. The wife especially loved the Highland fare that offered a taste of Scotland.
