Food is always of 5 * quality and freshly cooked .offering a great lunch time menu through to their al a cart Can get busy so advised to reserve your table on weekends Only down sides there is no disabled toilet one has to climb 13 stairs to the first floor Cosy setting, offering a relaxed atmosphere

Dishonest advertising - why do you claim you are "100% halal" on your Lunch Special Menu poster outside your entrance when you serve pork at this restaurant? Completely unacceptable. Remove the halal sign from the poster! Stop misleading potential customers.

Service awful. Waited 1 hour for them to come and take our order despite asking them three times. Took another 30 minutes for the drinks to come again despite asking for some tap water whilst we waited. Food was tasty but will not return due to appalling service.

Was a regular customer a while back but went in for a collection order and was shocked at the portion size for rice when I got home. From the picture you can tell they have used the smallest cup to measure out the rice and it doesn't even fill half the container! The curry to rice ratio we ordered was totally off so had to make more rice at home which was annoying. I called the restaurant to check it wasn't a mistake and they confirmed it wasn't. Clearly, they are making big margins on their rice so I would recommend not ordering Thai from here when their are so many better options around (e.g. Thai Town and Kosarn).

Had lunch there on Saturday 27th January food was OK not the true flavours of Thai cuisine I was expecting, service was good and very fast perhaps that was a warning! We ordered a Thai Green Curry which didn't have any taste of coconut, the noodle dish was very bland and disappointing which we relayed to the person we paid but I don't think she registered what we were actually saying - she just smiled!

Sticky rice starved in NYLON bag … horrible and very toxic as it was super hot meaning that all bad plastic chemicals leaked into the rise. Pad Thai a bit too oily but tastes good. Unless they use bamboo leaves for the sticky rise I am not coming again.

Went on a Wednesday night, was nice and quiet. Atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious. Will definitely go back again

Great place, we went there between Christmas and NY for dinner, it was very quite with a few families and couples. The food was delicious, and he had a nice bottle of wine to go with it. Recommend!

We did not feel appreciated as customers, lack of hospatility is shocking, food is mediocre at best. We should have left the moment we were treated poorly, but we stayed and it was a mistake. Skip this restaurant go to Kfc next door its better, at least you know what to expect from them.

Really disappointed with our meal last night. Booked a table for 7.30pm. At 9.00pm they told us the kitchen was closing and could we order our desserts immediately. Not long after we received them they said could we pay our bill as they were closing. It was 9.30pm. They then turned the lights up on full and killed what little atmosphere they had. I don’t know if they have a good lunch trade but I am surprised they have any dinner trade at all! The food was very expensive and below average. The selection of starters for three people were disappointing. The ribs were dry, the spring rolls cheap bought frozen ones, the fish cakes where dripping in grease, which I had to drain on my paper napkin and for some unknown reason, they gave us some dry toast to pad out the dismal selection. We were expected to share a minuscule selection of dips between 3 of us, which was barely enough for one person. The Green Thai curry for my main looked nice but was full of overcooked tasteless chicken, barely any vegetables and the sauce tasted of pretty much nothing. No hint of the sweet, sour and salty combination of lemon grass, lime leaves, chilli or coriander. Just bland nothingness. With 5 beers between 3 or us this set us back £150! Do restaurants not realise that this is a lot of hard earned money. And then to be practical shoved out the door. Honestly.

Great Thai restaurant in Wimbledon

I loved the food here. I've been looking for pineapple rice for a while and was delighted to find that they served it in a pinapple! The prawns on the delicious Pad Thai were huge, and the scallops were cooked perfectly. I just loved the blend of spices in all the dishes, plus the service and atmosphere were great.

This is the best Thai restaurant in Wimbledon. The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. Really looking forward to coming here again.

Nice little spot in a central location, with authentic decor. That sadly is let down by the incessant playing of Sam Smith songs, which really ruins the Thai experience. Everything was presented nicely & food was fresh - starters not just plucked out of the freezer - but generally tasted bland. All pleasant enough, but just not exciting

Very bad experience with the food here. My mom and I stopped it for a light bite and I ordered a salad with chicken from the menu. It came and immediately it looked off and the smell was rancid. I ate half a bite and was repulsed in a way I never have been before. I did not touch it after that and had to move the plate away because of the rotten smell. It was awful. I had a stomach upset for 3 hours during the night but as I only ate a minuscule bite I didn’t get full on food poisoning. They cannot be serving food like this. 0/5, would not recommend.

Don't order delivery on Mai Thai website. The service is horrible.Ordered at 7:04pm for 7:44pm delivery. More than one hour later (8:10pm) the food is still there and staff does not know what is going on. The delivery company keeps cancelling collection of the food and staff saying the drivers take 30 minutes to arrive and can cancel orders any time (2 drivers cancelled on our order). The restaurant keeps saying they do not control drivers and cannot do anything.

We went there for the Deli Lunch set menu. Very, very disappointing. I ordered the Tub Tim Chicken which was so salty I was unable to eat it plus the chicken consisted of thin slices with no flavour, almost as if it had just been added to an existing base sauce and heated up. I love authentic Thai food, but I won't be returning. Avoid.....

The Restaurant was pretty and gave a feeling of being in Thailand. The staff were respectful and attentive. We started with potent cocktails which were tasty and not your usual watered down mess. I ordered a Mai tai with Blue curaçao. We ordered platters of starters and there was plenty to start with - well made and authentic. After we had a lovely main meal with lots of lovely dips and chutneys.. My son who eats out a lot said that the ribs and satay was some of the best he has had. All Round a great experience and would go again - book in advance.

1st time visitors to this restaurant celebrating out anniversary. We should have known from the starter it was going to be disappointing what with the burnt parcels of meat substance, dried up ribs (bones) as part of the platter for 2. Ordered 2 noodle dishes one seafood, one vegan, both came out greasy and sloppy not the example of Thai food I have experienced. The vegan dish had egg in it and the seafood octopus was so chewy in-fact it was Inedible. My partner and I couldn’t eat it and let the manager know, the manger came over very hostile and said we had eaten it which was clearly not the case as the food remained on the plates still swimming its grease, the food was so sloppy and the taste made me feel sick. I would never visit here again even if it was on Ramsey kitchen nightmares and I was asked to return by Gordon Ramsey himself. Stay away unless you like grease and burnt food.

Mai Thai is our usual pre-theatre eating place in Wimbledon simply because the food and service is always excellent. On our last visit I had a Paneang (red curry) and my wife had a Pad Thai, and we both drank Singha. Both meals were really good, rich in flavours and textures. Of course we'll be going back.

The food had no flavour, costing way over what it was worth. Furthermore, my meal came with an old lime that looked used, near to moulding. Please do not come here, it was extremely disappointing and should not have any of these high rated reviews. A word of advice is to not order the sea bass as it is nearly £20 with no fish but a massive head and tail with a tiny bit of dry fish that tastes like a dessert in your mouth which even the sauce couldn’t save. I encourage you to take my advice and go somewhere else, it was meant to be a lovely mother’s day meal but ended up making us very thankful with every other restaurant.

Food was ok. The starter platter was very greasy overall. The pork ribs were dry and the random pieces of toast were a mystery. For main we had the tamarind duck which was overcooked, the chick penang, egg fried rice and fragrant rice. The dishes seemed to not hot enough temperature wise which was frustrating. The restaurant lacked any atmosphere considering we went in NYE. Think we will opt for a Thai up in Wimbledon village next time. Real shame.

Lovely tasting food, however, it was expensive & the portions were extremely small & could almost have passed as vegetarian due to the unacceptable lack of meat in each dish. 1 of the serving staff had a terrible attitude from the moment we arrived. They dealt with us as if we were an inconvenience to them throughout the evening. Maybe need to look at a different career path not dealing with the public, or develop some social skills.

So glad I found this lovely Thai restaurant in Wimbledon. Friend and I stopped before on ward journey. Loved its intimacy.The food was flavoursome, the service was good. Will definitely return and recommend

Absolutely stunning pad thai and yum beef salad. Will most definitely be back!!

5 of us walked in for dinner on a Saturday evening. The staff were very accommodating despite us not having a reservation. Food took a while to come but was well worth the wait! Cocktails were great, the vibe is great and they aren't hovering waiting for you to leave and vacate your table. Would definitely recommend and would 100% go again!

We’ve been to Mai Thai few times in the last 15 years and have always left happy…well until now. The staff are lovely but the food itself could be better. We ordered the mix starters which used to include prawn toast but we were served just plain toast ( what’s authentic about this I don’t know). When we queried we were told we should have had egg with it ( again completely baffled). The mains were pretty average and over priced in my opinion. I am usually happy to pay for good food and sadly this wasn’t one of those occasions. Will probably opt for another restaurants for pre theatre dining from now on

Now I was introduced to Thai yellow 8 years ago and feel in love. Many Thai restaurants do not have this is their menu. Mai Thai Wimbledon does and I’m so happy to have in my local town. I was in heaven with every bite. Iced coffee was very well made and I will always recommend. Parking is easy as 2 near car parks either side. X

Fantastic restaurant! The food was great and the service, outstanding. I have never received service like that before! The staff were nice and very accommodating! Literally met every single need we had as a group throughout the night! I will definitely return!

Very nearly cancelled the reservation after reading the reviews - so glad we didn't. What a great experience from start to finish. The waiter was extremely helpful and attentive and all dishes (party of 4) which were all different were excellent, tasty, thoroughly cooked chicken(!) and plentiful. Loving twist at the end with the fresh oranges to clean the pallet. What a great experience - thank you. You need more great reviews - well deserved.

Made a reservation here for a pre-Wimbledon Theatre show dining, having eaten here many times pre-lockdown and had always had good food. Somewhat concerned after reading the latest reviews (although most related to take-away) and felt obliged to provide a more current review for dining in. Can only say that the service we (party of four) received upon our arrival and to departure was excellent, extremely friendly, polite, prompt and with some helpful suggestions for menu options. We each had different curries with a mixture of different rices and all dishes were exactly what we were hoping for, hot, tasty, vibrant and just about perfect. Well done Mai Thai, back in the game! Excellent all round.

I did not enjoy eating at this restaurant. The service wasn't good, chicken was served uncooked and no apology when I mentioned it (although they did cook it more and brought it back with a spoldge of sauce on top that didn't look very appetising). The food wasn't hot and there wasn't enough chicken in the chicken and pineapple dish. We were served dry bread that looked like it was bought from a local supermarket and dry salad and pork chops. Nothing special and not very flavorful. I left feeling hungry. The waiter didn't even check if we enjoyed the food etc. Won't come back again.

Really really small and when all tables are taken it gets really loud. Maybe I just picked the wrong dish but was very disappointed when it arrived! I ordered the stir fry with seasonal vegetables with brown bean sauce and please see picture....when they brought it I genuinely thought there's something else coming. It was just a handful(!!!) of steamed vegetables in bean sauce....I had to order rice for it to fill me up. I would have expected the stir fry to have either egg noodles or rice noodles or something OR AT LEAST bean sprouts.

Can't believe I haven't eaten here sooner. Beautiful food, friendly staff, good atmosphere.... Can't fault it. I had the cod with sticky rice last night and would gladly drive the 10miles to eat it again. Gorgeous. Will definitely be returning.

Overall ok food with high prices. 2 starters+2 mains+2 drinks are £80, out of which £10 is only the service. The pad thai is overly sweet (please put less sugar in it), the starters (spring rolls, prawn pockets) are rather average despite being served with plum sauce instead of sweet chilli sauce. The fish dish I had (cod) was very bland - just deep fried small pieces of fish next to a sad dry salad of shredded carrots and cabbage with no seasoning. Their cocktails are very potent and pack a punch but bear in mind they are variations of the classic cocktails - the mojito came as strawberry mojito with sliced strawberries in it, the mai tai came as a blue drink with salt on the side and no fruits in it. Drinks were a surprise but were still enjoyable. The service was good though they do tend to forget to bring tap water. Don’t know if I would revisit.

The food here was very flavorful and tasty, look forward to doing it again especially in the welcoming atmosphere it has. Highly recommend that you order for the table and share with some good friends. Bon appetit.

Nice venue, food was ok, not amazing

We have been to the resturant numerous times pre COVID and enjoyed each moment, however in the past year it has gone considerably downhill. We have gotten takeaway from them 3 times in a year and every single time this have come damaged, forgotten or have got the order completely wrong, on one occasional all three in one order. The food is good quality, but unfortunately not worth the hassle anymore.

Appetiser of overcooked , mushy vegetables in thick, clumpy, greasy batter. Nothing tempura about it… Overcooked fish. Mediocre Pad Thai. Service hired on the cheap, does not prevent a 12 % service charge. I liked it here a year ago. It’s gone down…

This was our first visit to this place and unfortunately will be the last one. Location, service and atmosphere are just ok. The papaya salad we had here was nice in taste but it was the most expensive salad we have ever had in London (a normal portion for around £12). Their version of this classic salad doesn't have peanuts. The green curry and the pad thai were not nice in taste. We didn't enjoy them. The curries don't come with rice. So you have to add extra £4 to for a tinny bowl of rice to any curry which costs £12 average (total £16 for a curry with rice that you can get at any other Thai restaurant for £9 average). The spring rolls were just fine and the prawn crackers came with literally 1 tiny spoon of chilly sauce, just enough to dip 2 or 3 of the crackers. Be aware that the prices on their online menu have not been updated. So the current prices are more expensive than you can expect after watching their online menu. Very disappointed with this place. Under average quality but overpriced.

It was really a very unpleasant first time experience eating in this restaurant. The waitress who took our order was very friendly and helpful but the male waiter (white hair) who gave our food was EXTREMELY RUDE. He screamed at my face saying "more food is coming" (literally, screamed at my face oike 3 times) out of nowhere. He is very unprofessional and made our first time dining very disappointing. Will definitely never come again in this place. Food serving by the way takes ages.

We went to the restaurant for lunch. It was full of old people taking advantage of their value lunch menu. We had problems ordering because their was only one waitress ordering. I didn’t fancy something typical so I went for steamed bass, it was not bad but don’t come with anything so i ordered rice separately. Lychee martini was average and the sparkling water tasted strange.

We have been several times here for a few years now. Recent experiences: the service have not been great, but the main issue is that the portion are much smaller than before. For the price they charged, not value for money; And the quality is not as good as before: the meat ball with the soup noodle tasted frozen. So given the food is not great and the service could be improved, 2 stars. Will not go back again.

We went to Mai Thai for the first time during the Eat Out To Help Out scheme and were very impressed with their food. Today we saw them on Deliveroo and ordered again and were not disappointed. The crispy Wanton and the battered Cod main with rice are phenomenal. In my opinion Mai Thai is one of the best Thai restaurants in London (and we go to many). I really hope they will keep afloat during this awful time and will bounce back strong in 2021! Many thanks!

This place offers superb service as well as delicious food. My favourite spot around town. The food and drinks served fast and the prices are inexpensive. I recommend this place.

In the current climate we are trying to support local restaurants. So we decided to head here as haven't previously. The service was awful. The waitress was immediately rude and made us feel uncomfortable throughout. From taking ages to ask if we would like a drink (over 20 minutes) to having to ask for service. We are not impatient... The restaurant was very quiet... The food was average at best and we were rushing to eat as the service was so poor it made us feel uncomfortable and we just wanted to get out of there. It's a shame as we could have enjoyed our evening at a place that would have appreciated us! We have been to other local restaurants who have really appreciated the custom but here it was unfortunately down right rude and we won't be returning. Poor service can really ruin an evening and that's a shame for Mai Thai

I'd advise not getting a takeaway! Way overpriced and incredibly small portions, arrived cold had to microwave although to be fare its a rainy day and delivery driver was nice and it was packaged well so no leaks. The red curry wasn't thick and creamy...

Authentic thai experience, Delicious pad thai and Green curry.

Been a regular over the years and most of the time it's really nice. Last Saturday however we noticed a difference in the food. The rice portion was ridiculously small!! The fish cakes were delicious, the soup was ok but not to the usual standard. We chose Weeping Tiger as it's a favourite dish for us but never tried it here. It was quite pricey at nearly 15 quid! The steak was like piece of gristly leather! Bashed out so thin it had no chance of being pink in the middle. We tried to get the attention of the waitress but she appeared to be working alone and didn't have the heart to complain to her. We had a bottle of wine as we normally do and our bill was nearly £100!! It certainly wasn't £100 quality. Whether there was issues with the staff in the kitchen? We'll be leaving it for a long while and hopefully is will improve and be more consistent in the future. Disappointed

A small local Thai restaurant but with a very cosy feel and great food. I came here for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed with the service.

不好吃，真的就很一般很一般。咖喱很一般，还有汤什么的就是很一般般的味道。还有菠萝饭也是，菠萝炒饭这种怎么做都不会错的菜他们也能做的很一般，只有芒果糯米饭稍微好一点。不过真的没必要来，浪费时间和精力。
