I’ve been here 3 times now. Its 5 mins walk from kings cross station. The food is consistent , delicious & authentic, one of the better japanese restaurants I’ve tried in London. Their sushi boat is heaven! My fav is the inside out tuna asparagus one, miso eggplant, scallop mornay & agedashi tofu. It’s a family run business, the staff are lovely and always welcoming. Recommend if you’re in London and looking for a Japanese fix!

Very convenient location and great sushi boats for groups. Really impressed with the quality - have been back several times since our first visit!

Definitely had better sushi and sake. The roll was not well rolled and was falling apart. The Sashimi did not taste very fresh.

Amazing sushi! We walked in with no reservation on valentines day and were seated quickly. The restaurant is small and busy but everything we had was great.

I've been coming for 9 years now, Always ordering my favorites dishes which are delicious ! Kaitaifi prawns and crunchy salmon rolls. Always delicious ans I've never been sick despite some commentaries mentioning hygiene issues, are those people jealous ? Will go again and again. Kids can eat rice, salmon and edamame. My 2,5 years old son was happy with it.

No frill classic sushi spot, reminiscent of North American Chinatown style. Solid rolls, generous portions, amazing sushi boats! What a hidden gem for a quick bite before the train station

Unassuming from the outside but definitely worth poking a head in. We had a mixture of dishes and all were delicious. Staff were friendly and atmosphere nice. Would recommend.

We went pre-theatre and then walked ~25 mins to the west end. Great food at good price (for London). Authentic feel. Good service.

A hidden Gem of a Japanese restaurant just a few minutes walk from Euston Station. My partner and I had the Mai special rolls to start and the teriyaki Salmon (2 fillets) and chicken bento box for mains. Both were very tasty and the sushi was very fresh with lots of flavour. Highly reccommended.

Decided give this place a try. Food was actually pretty good especially the sushi which was fresh. Soya sauce was a little salty as mentioned by other reviewers. Had the fried starter selection but not sure that was worth the price though it tasted good. Overall a pretty good sushi place in the area and would definitely come again.

We had the smallest of the sushi boats and we were able to polish it off between the two of us. The flavour didn’t quite match the presentation but it was still decent quality sushi and I appreciate how they let us swap out one sushi roll in the set for another that we preferred. They also had a selection of bento boxes on the menu which looked really good and I would be keen to visit again to try.

The sushi boat 1 is fairly large with 60 pieces including Sashimi. The fried items are hot and very well done. The soy sauce is rather salty and strong flavored. Sake tend to come in the 300 ml bottle which is nice for smaller group sizes.

A family run restaurant, small but cosy. I had the box that came with miso soup, pickles, salad, sashimi, nigiri and one roll. The fish is fresh, the portion is good and the flavors are well balanced. I came here on Wednesday around 8pm, and the restaurant was almost full. Two things to improve: 1. Cut maki equally, otherwise it looks sloppy 2. Service wasn't bad but it can be better. I closed the menu to indicate I was ready but took a few minutes for someone to notice that. No one checked with me on the food, that's just standard practice.

Great place! We tried the tempura, sushi bento box and the sushi mix (think it was the Mai combo). Blown away by how delicious and fresh the sashimi tasted - the fish melted in our mouths! Not an easy achievement to find such fresh fish in London. We also enjoyed some ice cream for dessert - sesame flavour and a tempura fried ice cream, both delicious. Oh, and the big jug of hot sake felt like a bargain - 250 ml for £7! Portions weren't very big overall but as expected with the cost of living crisis. Service was friendly and the place is clean. Would recommend to others and I'd consider coming back specifically for the sashimi.

Totally worth the hype! A friend has been here several times so walked us through what to expect - no frills vibes, NY Chinatown local feel. The wine is not great & we were told the staff are quite short with you but they were really nice to us and super fast! We started with edame & lightly fried tofu, which was divine & I could have had the whole portion to myself. We got pickles on the side, which were also delicious, fresh and crisp with great flavour. We got sushi boat #4, and despite the look it's honestly fantastic grade sushi for the price point. 100% recommend for great sushi & chill vibes with a close friend or two.

Ok so this little place is very unassuming, not fancy in any way, and located down a random street between Euston Station and King's Cross. It happened to be close to our hotel and to tell you the truth, we were nervous to try because there were hardly any customers when we went in and the outside is quite dated. BUT the sushi was amazing, service was amazing, staff was so friendly, it was nice and clean, and most importantly- it was air conditioned! So don't be afraid to try something off the beaten path because we found this amazing little gem.

My family go to Mai Sushi very often and have never been disappointed. The whole atmosphere in the restaurant is great and food is delicious. Staff: Lovely staff with great attitude. They are always willing to recommend dishes and are patient when waiting for your order. Food : The food is always delicious and doesn't take long to get to us. The sushi is made when you order so it is very fresh when it gets to you. Everything about dinner at Mai Sushi is amazing and it is surprising to see so many negative reviews as I have never had a problem when I eat here.

What a little gem of a place! We enjoyed everything about our experience last night. All the fish is so fresh and there is such a variety to choose from. The black sesame ice cream was to die for! We are definitely coming back

I really like this little family-run place on a Euston side street. Good food, friendly fast service, and relaxed atmosphere. This is definitely going to become one of my local go tos.

My wife and I had dinner here on a Saturday evening. We were seated immediately. The service was efficient and friendly and the maki were excellent, as were the shrimp tempura and vegetable spring rolls.

Authentic japanese restaurant with great selection of sushi and hot dishes. We had the bento boxes which are an excellent deal for the amount of food and variety you get. Highlights were the Nigir, Sashimi, and the Tempura. Highly recommended.

I really liked this place not sure why it's less than 4.5 stars. A lot of people, crowded but very comfortable with polite and fast staff. Sushi were great, while sauce for me was too salty. Highly recommend.

I nice place to eat fresh sushi and Japanese food for a good price. The only issue is communication with staff. Some may not be very good in English. Reservation is only possible by calling or emailing which is not ideal.

Food is very fresh and delicious (a bit pricey though). Service is fast and the young waiters are friendly.

Excellent food and service. The surrounding area is unfortunately bad; I would recommend eating inside as you may be approached by people trying to steal from you.

Came here for dinner with a friend after work and it was basically empty when we arrived at 6pm. We ordered the sushi bento box and the tempura box which both came with miso soup. They were served to us very quickly so we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes. Sashimi was fresh and delicious, and the softness of the sushi rice was good but it could be improved to be even softer. Sashimi pieces could have been bigger as you can probably tell from my photos the size of each sashimi slice was rather small. On the up side I was slightly surprised by the pickled vegetables in the middle, not sure if they made them in house but they were very flavourful and balanced out nicely with the sashimi. Service was good and vibes overall were pleasant. Would be happy to come back here again but wouldn't say it's a particularly outstanding place.

Good sushi place next to Euston and St Pancras. The sushis are good and relatively modestly priced. The atmosphere and decoration could be improved, no effort whatsoever has been put in by the owner. The staff is friendly.

Small independent restaurant. We’ve been there a few times and the sushi has always been excellent.

Fishes and scallops are fresh, however the nigiri rice is a bit loose.

Very authentic restaurant and tasty sushi. They have lots of different rolls, and the fish was very fresh. The ratio of fish to rice was perfect. Some places fill you up with rice! This place was great, very fairly priced, and the staff were friendly and very efficient.

This is probably the best sushi you can find. The place is nothing special and I would probably not have entered to try if it was not highly recommended. But then the sushi was really great and the price on lower side made this The place where I go to eat sushi....fantastic. so do not get fooled by the first impression (actually I think it's closed for renovation at the moment)

I have been going here for years and the service and food has always been consistently great. It is a no frills restaurant so you don't pay over the top prices for the food but the quality and taste takes priority and it shows.

I ordered shrimp tempura udon and edamame. Edamame was a bit dry, making it difficult to eat. The tempura was already absorving much of the soup and i could not enjoy it. I recommend serving the tempura on the side of the udkn and let clients mix as they wish. The staff was quick at accepting that my dog is an assistance dog and I was glad that I did not have to argue nor explajn, this is the standard inclusion that we, assistance dog owners expect, so my congratulations to the staff for bejng well up to date with uk law regarding assistance dogs. Regardjng the ambience, I liked that i was able to talk with my friends and that there was no loud kusic and the aciustics of the place did not amplify the conversations of other people. We site jn the corner by the window.

Salimos con hambre. Muy caro para la calidad que ofrece. Las gyozas no tenían mucho sabor. El Kaitaifi prawn eran unas gambas rebozadas sin más. La sopa de miso estaba buena. De los rolls el que nos gustó fue el de anguila.

This has been my absolute favourite Sushi restaurant for a few years now - the sushi is always super fresh (I especially recommend the nigiri and the rainbow rolls) and really reasonably priced for the quality and portion sizes

Gosh, what a fabulous find this is! The sushi is absolutely lush, butter-soft, super fresh fish, varied menu, generous portions and extremely reasonably priced for the quality. The interior is authentically low-key, attractive but unshowy, the atmosphere is buzzy - by the simple fact that it is extremely popular, no music just animated chatting… The staff are delightful, polite and helpful, I’m tempted to selfishly keep it all a secret - but they deserve the praise!

Really excellent sushi and other dishes. Rock shrimp tempura and dragon rolls are amazing. Massively let down by Uber eats (at least twice!) avoid them whenever possible. Mail sushi graciously rushed a replacement order.

With pics it looks good, but the actual sushi isn't authentic. Chef is not Japanese, affordable price tho.

The portions were quite tiny. Nigiri were small. Sashimi on rice were small and thin. Price was £40 for 2. Quality was not bad however we've been much satisfied in other sushi restaurants at this price range.

Incredible fresh and tasty food. From outside it doesn't look appealing but don't be discouraged it is very authentic and worth your time and money. Will be back. Sushi is fresh and well balanced. Edit: I went back and food was again delicious. Ice creams were great as a desert!

Very high quality sushi, but on the pricey side. I would definitely recommend the sushi boat(pictured) for a group of 4 or more. Very worth the price, and it’s a great mixture of delicious different rolls.

I was checking the nearby restaurants found this little gem on Google maps, the inside space is quite small but I liked the food taste nice it might a bit pricey my opinion but the young lady served me nice and politely.

2019 was my last visit and today was I the area so had to stop by. The sushi is better than ever and i said that last review! Staff still just as friendly, the owner as jovial and generous as ever,, the fish fresh and expertly prepared. Again, i'm glad i had the chance to come back

En vacances à Londres nous sommes allés dans ce restaurant et nous ne l'avons pas regretté. Le service est chaleureux et les sushis sont les meilleurs que nous ayons jamais mangés. Le prix est un peu élevé mais l'expérience en vaut la peine. Allez-y les yeux fermés.

Your nice cozy neighbourhood Japanese restaurant. I only ordered the seafood yakisoba and I feel like it didn’t have enough yakisoba sauce. I wanna go back and try their sushi boats.

Great service, attentive to intolerances and allergies. The yellowtail was a lot bigger than expected, definitely get more for your money here. The agadeshi tofu was perfectly cooked
