Mahon's Hotel in Fermanagh

Well situated easy found. This place takes you back in time. The reception well staffed with quick booking in. The rooms are spacious with everything you'd need. The bar is decked out with all sorts of memorabilia. The food is varied and plentiful and inexpensive. Ample free parking. So all in all a good place to stop.

Lovely hotel in a lovely part of the world(with dog friendly rooms). Room was comfy & clean. The staff were friendly & very helpful. Food was very good & filled the plate (& your belly) We didn't know Irvinestown had a castle & a lot of ground where we could walk "Bailey"

Staff very friendly and look after you right away. Nice homely food in a very cosy and interesting bar/lounge with lots of interesting artifacts to keep you amused until your food arrives. Would return the next time I am on the road.

Absolutely beautiful food. Just had the best meal. Portions were very good, brought out promptly and hot!! Could not fault it. Husband has the tbone which was cooked perfectly. I had the Kiev which was also perfect. Fab children’s meal also. Desserts could not be finished but were delicious! Will def be back!! Well worth a visit!

Meal was OK on the whole. Very busy. Steaks good. Let down by poor mash (dry and tasteless) watery cabbage and over cooked pre packed carrot batons. Most disappointing was a chocolate nut sundae that turned out to be a squirl of bottled chocolate sauceand, chocolate ice cream. very sweet. Should have had fruit and fresh cream to be a sundae? Bill was miscalculated with no apology. Would not go back. Was recommended it for a birthday mealn for 10 people. Better meal night before at Mollys Bar.

We have had the early bird menu on a few occasions now and it never disappoints. Good portions and really tastefully presented. Lovely atmosphere

Have to stay stayed at mahons for 2 night and I have to say excellent accommodation food was amazing staff couldn't do enough for you would highly recommend to anyone

stopped here for an early tea and they had a great wee menu for 2 or 3 courses. food was plentiful, hot, tasty and value for money. the staff were extremely pleasant. would def come back here.

This needs to be cooked much better. (Otherwise the chef obviously knows what he's doing - the good ingredients were well prepared and the other dishes were spot on.) When stir frying beef the secret is a really hot pan, but the vegetables need sufficient cooking too - I have good teeth and struggled through it, but it was a real struggle (both the beef and the vegetables). Keep it on the menu, it's a great dish.

We were recommended the Hotel for a meal by a local shop owner, and as it was very close we decided to give it a go.

When did you last order Fish & Chips and have the fish delivered on top of a large pile of mash, accompanied by cabbage and carrots, with the chips in a separate bucket? That was my wife's experience when we ate in the restaurant as part of a DB&B; deal. My meal, an absolutely massive portion of (calves?) liver with the same vegetables, while tasty, was only slightly less unusual. Service was a bit erratic and the restaurant could have been warmer. We would explore the other options in Irvinestone before eating here again.

Table booked and quick service. Splendid food yet again. The portions were big and the attention was second to none as the staff were very attentive, despite a big party in.

We had a very enjoyable stay for 4 days in a friendly atmosphere. The room was very good - particularly for someone with a disability - as it was a downstairs room. Very clean and inviting. The meals were excellent and were served by very friendly, staff who gave us a feeling of being "Family". We were there to do some family research and the staff were always happy to assist us with suggestions of names and places, and also provided us with some information books. We would have no hesitation in returning to Mahon's hotel in the future.

Stayed here a few times with my partner and friends. We all enjoyed our short breaks and intend to return again. Staff were friendly and efficient . The music in the bar is always good and the atmosphere is great. Thank you

Have been few times now and it's sucj good value for money , 2 adult dinners and two kids meals two desserts and 4 alcoholic drinks and a Irish coffee All came to £52 , dinners great size , food well cooked and lovely will definitely be back

We have been going to Mahons for a good few years now and never disappoints we have a brilliant time good food good music brilliant craic with Joe and all the staff a so friendly cant to go back in August

Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Good variety on the menu. My choice was fish pie crumble ....presentation was beautiful and the dish itself had great flavour...Scrumptious food. Low level background music which was very pleasant and still allowed for easy conversation. A very enjoyable experience.

The bar and restaurant serve very tasty and well presented food. The Sunday carvery is well worth going to - the portions are adequate and the food is well cooked and the staff are friendly and efficient.

We visited on the 24th January for dinner. The deep fried brie wads a spring roll containing tepid cheese without texture or flavour, the home made pate was served with sliced Panini and wads a weird greige colour and the most unpleasant taste and mouth feel, they changed this for smoked salmon with prawns and wheaten bread the salmon was the edible, the prawns were fridge cold and tasted of vaguely fishy cotton wool, the wheaten bread was unbearably sweet. The main course of pork chops was equally terrible, the chops were greige and had neither taste nor texture, the mash had a strange texture and may have been frozen and reheated. On the plus side the vegetarian frijitas were served sizzling on a griddle with full accomplishments and decent rice. Please avoid.

Excellent lunch Caesar’s salad was best I’ve ever had the turkey dinner and the custard and jam sponge were lovely all home cooking as u would expect Nice atmosphere in the bar warm friendly highly recommend a visit

Happened to eat here recently with my family, food was amazing and the servers Paul and Joe were very attentive and Marie on the front desk was extremely helpful. Keep up the good work.

A lovely friendly hotel in the middle of Irvinestown. We called in for a meal and was warmly welcomed by Joe the owner who also served us food with great humour and laughed will definitely be back there see you soon Joe.

Popped in for some lunch with kids and in laws. Staff are friendly. We sat in the restaurant bit. I wasnt really hungry so just had a toasty. Every1 had mains. Portions where of a good size. Kids mini dinner was great plenty of food good size. Wasnt busy nice and peaceful. Enjoyed our food felt nice and relaxed.

A pleasant establishment with friendly staff and the food was very godd with quantity but the chips let one of the dishes down a little. Price was fine.Unfortunately there was afamily with three noisy children which the parents or staff failed to curtail even when it was obviously disturbing other customers.Appreciating this is probably a rare occurrence, we will probably be back.

My wife and I had an evening meal - You can eat in the bar or Dinning room (same menu and price) We where impressed by the service and the standard of food. The owner of the hotel served our meal and provided some entertainment. This all added to the evening - Be aware Portions are big!! -we will definitely return and try the accommodation

While staying at Sissy McGinty's, my friend and I went to Mahon's twice - the first time for an evening bar meal and the second time for their Sunday lunch buffet. On both occasions, we were impressed by the quality of both the food and the service. I would recommend Mahon's for eating at any time, but especially the buffet.

10/4/16 I was in on Sunday evening and had a really good roast turkey and ham dinner can't be faulted will definitely be back

Brilliant hotel food was excellent and the staff all so friendly. Would recommend this hotel to all. It's good for families to. Lovely big room with tea and coffee making facilities. Can't wait to go back.

Just spent Thursday to Sunday with friends. Great place to stay. Very friendly people from the owners to the staff. Fantastic atmosphere. Food exceptional and the only complaint would be the size of the portions, too big. This is the fourth year we have stayed there in October and hopefully it wont be the last. Would highly recommend a stay at Mahons.

Myself and friends spent a wonderful weekend in this hotel and the surrounding area. This family owned hotel has excellent accommodation and brilliant food,the staff could not be more helpful, the atmosphere and ambiance is second to none. The group I travelled with will certainly be back in Fermanagh to Mahons hotel soon.

Good value very attentive staff. Liver particularly good. Great for families. Extensive menu to suit all palates. Liked it.

Went for a meal here. I thought my steak was tough not very good quality not very tasty but you did get loads of side dishes potatoes mushrooms chips onions and veg... I also had apple crumble which was swimming in custard no need for that much. Service was fine no one was rude etc but no one was over the top friendly either

My wife and I called in here for dinner, on two occasions in May. We were not disappointed with the food, service, or price. Spoke with Joe.He and any of the staff we had contact with were very friendly. Will return. Would recommend.

Give Mahon's a try - highly recommended! Great service, friendly staff, perfect food at great prices, no problems at all! Nothing is ever too hard for Joe and his team of dedicated staff!

I have always heard about Mahons hotel and its owner Joe Mahon. I wasn't disappointed about anything in it. I got a couple of gorgeous meals in it and a few great pints in the bar. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I even got to met Joe who is a lovely man. He was very helpful and friendly when I said I was on a walking holiday on my own. If I'm back in Irvinestown I'll be back.

While staying at the Necarne Manor B & B we visited Mahon's Hotel for evening dinner. I have to say the meal was beautiful and the surrounding scenery was very relaxing

Opted for the stuffed chicken carvery without a starter and was really impressed. Presented as an average looking plate of food, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavour in my first mouthful. The gravy was lovely and flavoursome and the stuffed chicken was wrapped with bacon. Mashed potatoes cooked to perfection and the greens were lovely with a sprinkling of salt. I don't particularly like carrots when they're steamed or boiled but that's a personal preference. They still tasted lovely with the rest of the meal. An all round pleasant and welcoming environment made the visit enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely go back for more.

Had a meal in Mahons Hotel restaurant on Tuesday evening. On arrival we were shown to the restaurant and we're the only people there for the duration of our meal! Starters arrived which were okay but nothing exciting, it was when the main course arrived that I could hardly believe my eyes! My fellow diner had ordered carbonara, when it arrived it was rock hard on top, welded to the plate and when she lifted up the pasta it was swimming in oil! After chasing round the hotel we finally found the waiter and to my horror he started to argue that the pasta was fine! I am a trained chef and I know it was microwaved to within an inch of its life! After arguing he did agree to change the dish, when the new dish arrived it was better but I think the chef forgot to put the ham/bacon in! I have to say I have eaten in Mahons before and the food has been enjoyable but this experience would put me off going back!

5 of us were out on a drive last Sunday went to Mahon's hotel. Very busy place service was excellent staff very pleasant and kept you updated on progress when the food arrived it was to "die for". Taste magnificent staff very helpful and couldn't do enough for their customers.

Fabulous family run buisness. Great food an drink and friendly staff. The family who own the buisness all work in the hotel and are always welcoming

We stopped off for something to eat in the bar before visiting Enniskillen. We had tea and sandwiches which were well filled, tasty and served with a little salad which had a delicious vinegar dressing. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely to be recommended.

Had our evening meal here and have no complaints. Friendly staff good food and very generous portions.

A reasonable menu was presented by very friendly staff. The quality of the food was good but I was surprised how few customers there were. It was certainly a good value meal and I can recommend it to discerning clients. I have attached a few photographs.

Our Team have been staying at Mahons since 12th July 2012, 2-3 nights, on a weekly basis. We tried several hotels in the Enniskillen area but they were either too expensive, too quiet, poor food, poor service, poor facilities and not very friendly. Joe and his Team, go out of their way to ensure that you are well looked after and no problem is too small. In all the time we have stayed at Mahons we have never had one complaint, which is fairly remarkable for the hospitality industry. The crack is always good at Mahons.Great work and high praise to the Team at Mahons and keep it up, from the Consultants!

While on holiday in the area family members took us for a meal to this hotel. It's fair to say at the outset that they were in the middle of a refurbishment so perhaps all was not what it would normally be. The menu was a bit limited but I opted for the chicken enchillada and really wish I hadn't. It was flung together and was mostly watery onions and peppers. Very little chicken and even less flavour. I think they were hoping that the copius quantity of cheese on the top of it would appease me. I honestly had much tastier one's from Asda. Perhaps the chef should give them a try. I won't be back when I next visit the area. The restaurant was quite busy so perhaps I was just unlucky in my choice.

Just had a stay in Mahons, which was got for me and my husband as a Christmas gift. The place is excellent in every way.. Clean, roomy, friendly, helpful and a brilliant atmosphere. food excellent. have been in 5 star hotels that are not as good as this hotel.. Would love to stay again.

This place is always reliably good without being exceptional. The atmosphere is good, and service and prices reasonable.

Called here for lunch on Saturday and again experienced very friendly service and a quick chat with with the owner. Lunch was to usual high standard with quick and friendly standard. Never fails to satisfy.

food is great, and there is alot of space around u there is a nice peaceful atmosphere not too quite but not to loud, you dont even need to go in to the restaurant part to get good food &/ service, it is great diffidently wroth it

Just back from this wonderful hotel and cannot wait to go back for another weekend away. The staff and management are extremely helpful and friendly and Bernie was a real pleasure to meet. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food was delicious and great value for money. Anyone considering a stay in Irvinestown should definately try Mahons hotel you will not be disappointed. Thank you for making us feel at home, Margaret, Liam, Briege and David...

My friend and I really enjoy the lunch menu at this hotel. Been there on several occasions. Service is fast and staff are friendly . Have heard great reports about the restaurant so will try it out very soon. Good helpings and well priced too.

Have been a few times now to Mahons for a meal. The portions are huge. We had a lovely meal recently and then went into the bar as there was live music which was excellent. The only downside I would have is the cheap cutlery used in the restaurant. It would feel more upmarket if the cutlery was more substantial. Apart from that, we would got there again.

Following a weekend in the Manor House, we took friends here for a thank you Sunday lunch for minding our dogs. I have been here before but not ate in the restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed, service is friendly and fast, food is excellent and you are given lots of it and prices are decent. I will definitely eat there again on another visit to Irvinestown.

The only thought we had was to EAT IT! - We loved everything. We thought the prices were "below the norm" for a hotel which makes it even better value for money.

Called in here on a day out for a quick drink and a sandwich, good selection from sandwichs to a full dinner, very friendly bar staff, the public bar is full of character with loads of memorabilia, well worth a visit.

Visited nye.Food and entertainment was excellent,I had rack of lamb best meal i had for some time. The place had great party atmoshere with a band in both restaurant and the lounge.

We visited on a Sunday for my mums birthday, our order for our starters was taken quickly and the food was delicious as usual, the carvery for our main was great and the staff are lovely and very friendly. Joe Mahon himself came over to see if we were enjoying our meal and if we needed anything else which was very pleasant. I've visited Mahon's Hotel many times over the years and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good meal and a bit of craic!

If you are in fermanagh you have to try mahons good home cooking and plenty of it no fancy names chicken is chicken and fish is fish the staff is just great so if your in the area call in and give it a go

An old fashioned outdated Bar/Restuarant which is falling behind in a very competitive market. It might suit some local people but is not up to speed in the current difficult market.

the food and drink served here is excellent.would recommend for anyone who is feeling very hungry.service and staff brill.

Visited the bar for entertainment as none provided in the hotel in which we were staying. Whistling donkeys certainly provided lively music, pity there didn't seem to be any room for dancing - or maybe we couldn't see it from our seat. Would definately visit again if in the area.

Used to enjoy a nice home cooked meal here. It has went down a bit. I dont like waitresses snapping the plates from under me. I had been dinning with other people who remarked this also. Sorry but not happy.

This is a beautiful restaurant with lovely features, the atmosphere is brilliant and the food is excellent too, I have eaten here on a few occasions and it has always been of a high standard.

18 adults and 10 small children enjoyed an excellent dinner in the resturant. Food quality and portions really good and staff friendly and helpful. Excellent choices from the childrens menu. Eating with so many small children in a party can be difficult but we were warmly welcomed. A good dining experience. Thanks to Joe Mahon and his wonderful team.
