Bon plats, service aimable mais restaurant très étroit , nous étions tout au fond et avons subi les bruits du service toute la soirée . Tables très rapprochées. Ça n’était pas une soirée très agréable . À noter que le restaurant ne sert pas d’alcool.

Le repas était délicieux, plein de saveurs. Les portions étaient généreuses. L’accueil était très poli et courtois. Le restaurant a atmosphère mignonne.

Great Value for money. Very tasty curry recipes served with rice and nan. Restaurant and table space are a bit limited but food quality and service over compensate! Definitely recommended

The lamb korma was the most tender I have ever had. Wonderful spices but not overpowering. The starters were very flavorful and tender as well. The naan was perfection. Right off the Bayswater tube stop. Well worth the trip.

🚨⚠️ read🚨⚠️ Absolutely terrible, me and my friends went out and wanted Indian and there was a place 4.4 stars so we went in we all ordered and it came out quite quickly me and my other friend got prawn and chicken kurma bc we always like that but when we got it it was like eating pounds of sugar and was just absolutely terrible I mean disgusting so we tell them they say they'll remake it and they bring back tika masala and again way to sweet and in my personal opinion to spicy at the same time at that point we don't want it anymore but they insist they bring us curry we try to say no but they insisted so we get it and it's literal soup it was good but curry shouldn't be soup and it shouldn't take 3 tries to make good also they were taking out the trash while we were eating all in all it was terrible and its hard to mess up Indian food

Went inside the restaurant with my family, when one of the servers stopped us at the door. The server told us we were not welcome inside with a buggy. We explained that it was a wheelchair, and he answered that the restaurant don’t allow wheelchairs either. Felt very discriminated against and disappointed that this happened in 2023. Luckily the indian restaurant across the street had no problem with moving a chair to make room for the wheelchair.

Trying to make a booking with them this morning but they keep hanging up. They wait for me to say hello then put the phone down. Very odd behavior.

Booked this restaurant as a result of the high ratings. Sad to say the food was not good. I echo what other reviewers say that you can't have any alcohol but that wouldn't have bothered me that much if the food was good. London is spoiled or good Indian options but this is unfortunately not one of them

Absolute disgusting .. food and the manners of the people who serve .at this restaurant ..they overcharge my Mrs for 2 simple dishes ,for take away then hand her over someone else,s order by mistake ,when we rang the restaurant to bring the food back person answering the phone was so rude to my wife and told her to get lost.and don't come back she was so shaken of this individuals behaviour we reported the restaurant to the trading standards keep away from this maharajah restaurant they are Indian/bangalee con artist,s based at queensway ..regrettably we will not be ever going there again ....

Being an Indian connoisseur living in Glasgow I was pleasantly surprised to find this wee gem in London near Hyde park. Staff are first class always with a smile on their face. Food was first class!! We ordered the poppadoms and chutney tray, chicken tikka as appetizers,mains of chicken tikka jalfrezi and pilau rice with plain nan. Quality of food was above 5 stars. I'd rate this up in my top 5 currys I have had in UK for many years. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We found the food warm (not hot). The staff was not friendly and the space was tiny. I like a beer and they don’t have. The waiter allowed us to order two identical dishes that were mostly potatoes. (aloo gobi and veg curry). Quite disappointing. Sept 2023. Hope they improve.

Just had a recent visit. Children love to go there. Tandoori Chicken and chichen Tikka and nan bread was great. Gulab Zaman to ends with. Perfect dinner. Service was very swift.

Great restaurant, great service! We came here after a long flight and bus ride, and the chicken tikka masala was the perfect remedy. Mohamed was great; he was very attentive and also very funny. Went Sunday evening with my wife and had food on her choice. The chicken curry seem better test than previous visits and vinda aloo was delicious too and the dal and pilau rice was awsome test also service was quick and efficient

We live in NYC and eat Indian quite regularly and from all over NYC. This was hands down one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The staff was lovely and engaged our somewhat unruly four year old making her laugh. We almost passed this place over but we are very glad we didn’t.

Bon restaurant indien, accueil sympathique, des habitués ou des touristes comme nous. Cuisine de qualité comme nous pouvons l’avoir sans d’autres restaurants indiens.

Au niveau de la nourriture, aucun problème c’était très bon (sauf pour les cheese naans qui étaient sans goût car fourrés avec de l’emmental et non de la vache qui rit comme en France). En revanche, pour l’accueil, ce fut exécrable ! On nous a forcé à nous installer à une table à côté d’autres personnes (nous étions les uns sur les autres) alors que le restaurant était vide, et ce sans aucun sourire ni même un bonsoir ! Le coca servit devait sortir d’une bouteille ouverte depuis longtemps (pas de bulle, pas bon en goût). Et bien sûr, tout le reste du repas sans amabilité de la part des serveurs... Par contre très raisonnable pour le prix, et les portions sont copieuses.

Wij waren hier zaterdag 8 februari 2020 geweest. Het was een knus tentje. Met vriendelijk en vooral grappig personeel. We hadden curry besteld met naan brood. Het eten was vers bereid en heerlijk van smaak. Prijs was ook prima.aanrader!!!

We went to the London for the weekend for our Anniversary and really wanted to have some Indian Cusine we throughly enjoyed it.The food was so tasty with lots of flavour and lots of variety of choice.The Staff were friendly,very hospitable and made us feel welcome.They had a laugh and a joke which created a great atmosphere.The restaurant was packed full of customers which shows how popular it was.Will certainly go back when we visit London again :)

Essen war sehr lecker, der Service sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Ich habe den Schaschlik mit Huhn bestellt und wurde informiert, dass das ca. 15-20 min. dauern würde, da er frisch zubereitet wird. Das Warten hat sich gelohnt! Wir hatten noch das "Chicken Balti" mit Tamarindensauce. Auch dieses Essen ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die Sauce ist super-fruchtig. Wir kommen definitiv wieder! Die Preise sind für londoner Verhältnisse moderat und den Portionsgrößen angemessen!

Honestly don't get all the 5 star reviews? This was by far the worst Indian meal i have had. And i rarely give bad reviews but for i can make no exceptions.Service was indeed very good as previously reviewed but the food was oily and chicken & lamb both very chewyHardly any sauce in our curries, just meat floating in an unusual oily substanceThe veg side dish was good and proved they are perhaps capable of good cookingJust not on our visit!I do find lots and lots of 5 star reviews very suspicious, especially when they have been written by people who have never written a review before!One to avoid!!Oh and when we told the waiter the meal was bad he just shrugged and walked away - not the first time he'd heard that kind of feedback i think!

Went to having dinner on a busy Friday night got chosen table and having few balti dishes and curries with naan bread and pilao rice really delicious and value for money wonderful evening at maharaja thanks for the excellent service and delicious food

Visited this restaurant with my parents for their 30th Wedding anniversary. We all ordered a curry and a side. The food was absolutely delicious. Cute venue with a nice atmosphere. The only down side is that the waiter managed to chase away 4 different customers with how rude he was. For some reason he was nice to us but decided that the family of 3 that arrived were “not allowed to sit without his permission” and another gentleman eating solo left after being treated with disrespect. Not sure what the standard is for who can and can’t eat at this establishment but it is a pity that not everyone is welcome as the food is delicious. Would have got 5 stars had the waiter not been so rude to the other customers I front of us which ruined the mood.

I stumbled across the restaurant whilst being in the area with my family. We were all craving some Indian food and I have to say this restaurant hit the spot. The food was extremely delicious and had loads of flavour. The service was on point and the staff were welcoming and extremely helpful.

Recently we have had another tasty dinner. Bhuna lamb, chicken Tikka Biriyani, tandoori chicken and garlic nan were very tasty again Finish with gulab zaman and rossmalay. Wonderfully sweet,that's what the kids were saying.

We came on New Year's eve, wanted to taste a different cuisine while in London. This restaurant showed high ratings, and deservedly so, The set meal was great for families and the chef specials are good for those who don't know exactly what to order. The waiter helped us decide what to order. It took a longer time for food to arrive - because it was prepared from scratch!!

Once again they dont disappoint. Came with my colleagues and everyone enjoyed it. We had a special course menu which consisted of starters mains and veg and we demolished it. Amazing once again.

Nous avons tous très bien mangé. Le service est bon, disponible pour expliquer les plats, de bon conseil. La cuisine est vraiment bonne avec des bons produits et du goût. Les prix raisonnables, cohérents avec la qualité. Le restaurant est également bien situé, dans Portobello street.

We were in London for Christmas and had the best Indian food we've ever had at Maharaja. It was so full of flavor. The restaurant is cozy and elegant and the service was phenomenal.

Good food here! Visited the restaurant 4 years ago, and came back because I liked the place last time. The staff was friendly and came to our table to talk with us. I do reccomend the coconut nan bread and chicken tikka masala, really liked it. The rice was not good, really dry. But I really reccomend to visit this place, walk off Bayswater underground station and right for around 30meters.
