Made in Italy in Epping Forest

We used to visit this resturant all of the time whilst under previous owner Alfio . Sadly since he retired the food quality and ambiance is not the same . Gradually it has gone down hill . In an authentic little place like this fresh food is a must . It appeared that the prawns had been frozen and were tasteless , the pizza dry and nothing anybody had was as good as it used to be . Maybe it was a bad night in the kitchen , but at the price you pay you expect better . Sadly we won't return .

We three gluttoneers descended on this truly delightful eatery on Saturday night, and it was a splendid experience after watching the coronation of King Charles. We were welcomed warmly by Silvi and shown to our table. The background music was pleasant and at the right decibel level. Though relatively small, the restaurant has a warm inviting ambience, with a decor of light tiles and romantic lighting. The chat and laughter began almost immediately with Silvi and Joanne. Their menu is quite varied, especially when you include their specials' page. Armed with a perfectly concocted Aperol Spritz and Bellini, we made our selection. Our starters comprised of Garlic King Prawns, slow-cooked ribs, and a Mediterannean Platter: the king prawns had absorbed the flavour and were succulent; the ribs fell off the bone and had a rich, salivating taste (they do the best in Essex); and the platter had the right mix of Italian meats, cheese, black olives, and bread. We then waged a happy 'war' on our mains: Seabass and sides; and two of us went for the Carbonara alla Romana off their specials' page: again, they were perfectly presented and prepared, with a flavour that lingered on the palate - brilliant. This culinary excellence was baptised with a full-bodied Italian red: Primitivo. We were too full for desserts, but concluded this gastronomic debauchery with a Cappuccino, black Americano, lemon tea, Mirto, and Sambuca. We've known Silvi and Kevin for a long while now, and they are the most hardworking and pleasant couple you could ever hope to know, and Joanne is a delight and always calm and friendly. The place soon filled with diners, and yet the service and friendliness did not falter, and they still found time to chat and share laughter with their diners. We are so lucky to have such a stupendous eatery on our doorstep. Our thanks for another uplifting dining experience of chat, laughter, and exemplary cuisine - grazie mille. I was very happy with customer service cleanliness etc. I see the 15% service charge and was happy to give a try. I hate to sound rude or disrespectful the starters were okay. The sea bass was fine but in all fairness I dint think the ingredients are fresh. My main was £15.00 I ordered two sides sautéed potatoes and vegetables. I’m total over £25 . I am sad to say I I was disappointed. Frozen food. My partner ordered pizza with sliced egg which the egg was so gray!!! The egg was a sliced boiled egg it was awful!!! That was my partners pizza it was ham mushroom olive and sliced egg. I didn’t have it in me to complain. It was my birthday I also found a hair in my food on my broccoli. I couldn’t say anything I felt so disappointed I was deflated and a hair is sometimes unavoidable. I’m not here to put the restaurant down I want to let you all know and hopefully they will learn how to cook a boiled egg and put in cool water. Fresh veg and real sautéed potatoes !! We paid the bill and service charge. We will not be going back.

With lovely background music, and armed with an Aperol Spritz and a Limoncello Spritz, we made our selection from a reasonably varied menu. Our starters comprised of Garlic King Prawns, Mediterranean Platter, and Sicilian Panzerotti; all were presented and prepared to perfection. Two of us then went for the seabass, and I went for the Cod Supreme; the fish was sublimely cooked, and the flavours filled your palate delightfully. This culinary excellence was christened with a superb Primitivo: a full-bodied Italian red with a hint of sweetness which complemented our meal perfectly. We were too full for dessert, but concluded this gastronomic extravaganza with a cappuccino, lemon tea, black Americano, a Sambuca, and a Mirto. The place got quite full with diners. But we've been coming here for years, and it's almost like visiting family now: we feel right at home. Beware that if you want to book a table they take a £10 per person deposit, which is ok, but strange when making a small booking. The restaurant is very small, which is nice on one hand, but when full, you cant hear the person next to you. You need to be very careful with what you order. I had deep fried frozen calamari at £8.50 for 6 rings, and the driest pizza I have ever eaten, however some of our group had food that was much nicer - the ribs in particular. The service was good, however they do automatically add 15% service to your bill, which is a joke for a small restaurant in Chigwell where all they do is transport the plates from the kitchen 10 yards away. There isn't much service that is done, and most top restaurants in London dont charge 15%. The 15% and deposit are part of the desperation to make money that clearly comes across in Casa Pipino - there is a sign that states that 'cash' is their 'preferred payment method', along with signs trying to rent out the flat upstairs and the many signs that state that you must pay a deposit (even though by the time you read them, you are already in the restaurant). Would I go here again or recommend it - afraid not.

We went as a couple for an evening out. A very warm welcome and friendly polite staff put us immediately at ease. The small restaurant is clean and pleasant with a freshly decorated interior. The menu is extensive with a monthly list of specials adding to a regular list of pizzas and pasta dishes. There was also a good range of desserts. Yet somehow we were underwhelmed; the garlic bread was a dry pizza base lightly infused with some garlic and butter. We ordered whitebait and calamari starters which seemed like they had been taken from the freezer. Lm The small pasta dish I ordered had a large portion of penne and some prawns , mussels and shrimps lost in a rather drab tomato sauce.My partner’s spaghetti vongole had good ingredients but he found the garlic and white wine sauce drowned the dish. We both had desserts- the Tira Misu was fine but the panna cotta with mango purée disappointing for the price. The bill Including 15% service charge did not represent value for money. I feel the restaurant would do better concentrating on a smaller menu and improving the quality of their ingredients to make meals more memorable; the friendly and welcoming staff deserve better.

The decor still has a welcoming warmth, making one feel right at home. We soon made our selection: two of us went for the garlic king prawns, and one went for the Sicilian Panzerotti; all were perfectly prepared with a flavour that exploded on the palate. Our mains consisted of Panfried Seabass fillets with trimmings for two, and a Saltimbocca al Romana for one; again, the taste and texture were sublime, and we're still salivating. This culinary perfection was christened with a lovely Primitivo: a full-bodied Italian red, with a hint of sweetness that complemented our meal perfectly. One of us found room for dessert: a scoop of a rich chocolate ice cream. We concluded this gastronomic debauchery with a black Americano, breakfast tea, capuccino, and a Sambuca and Mirto - great. Kevin then found time to leave the 'hot room' to share some laughter and chat with us. Joanne did splendidly well in service and friendliness. Yet again, Casa Pipino hits the benchmark in fine cuisine, service, and friendliness - a big 'thank you' for a great dining experience. Keep smiling and be safe. We invaded this brilliant eatery on a sunny Saturday evening and were immersed in friendship, chat, and laughter by Sylvi and all at Casa Pipino. The decor remains unchanged: tiled with modernish greys and recessed lighting. The atmosphere was set by the polite buzz of diners already there, and the mellow background music. Armed with a perfectly concocted Aperol Spritz, we made our selection from a small but varied menu, especially when you include their specials' page. There is seafood, fish, meat, pasta, pizza, etc. So, there's something there that should suit most palates. Our starters comprised of a Mediterranean Platter consisting of mixed Italian meats, cheese, black olives, and bread; garlic mushrooms; and garlic king prawns. These were perfectly prepared and presented in flavour and texture. Our mains consisted of a Pollo Alfredo for one of us, and panfried seabass with sides for two of us; the fish was beautifully cooked, and the Alfredo was full of flavour. This was baptised with a full-bodied Italian red: Primitivo. This wine is simply divine: an appetising bouquet of berries and a hint of sweetness, which complemented our meal splendidly. After this culinary debauchery, we were too full for dessert, but concluded the gastronomic delight with a cappuccino, lemon tea, black Americano, a Sambuca, and Mirto. Three of us happy gluttoneers invaded this lovely eatery for their Taste of Italy nights, and this time it was Veneto. The decor remains unchanged: light and airy with a welcoming warmth. We were greeted by Silvi, and the chat and laughter soon flowed. The Aperol Spritz was a wonderful precursor to the culinary festivities. There was the traditional Venetian ball masks, which was a nice touch. It was four courses of sheer delight with wines to match. There was Stuzzichini: salted cod on crostini with asparagus, deep fried Mozzarella, Asiago cheese; Bigoli alla Veneta: hand-rolled spaghetti in an anchovy, onion, and white wine sauce; and a secondo selection: we chose the panfired Sea Bream on a bed of rice. This was concluded with a mouth-watering dessert: Sacher cake and chocolate sauce with strawberry. This gastronomic frenzy was finished off with a Sambuca, coffee, and a lemon tea. Brilliant. It was truly buzzy with the polite hum and laughter from other diners. and mood-enhancing background music. Thanks to Kevin for his talented endeavours in the 'hot room', to Silvi for the laughter and chat, and all at Casa Pipino for a wonderful dining experience. The decor hasn't changed since the last refurbishment: it's airy and inviting. As always, we were greeted with warmth by Silvi, and Zac was on form. It was a four-course setting, and all of it - including the variety of wines of the region - was superb and beautifully prepared and presented - well done, Kevin. My wife, Angela, and I, booked a table for the renowned jazz night at Casa Pipino's and weren't disappointed. We were greeted and shown to our table. The decor is unchanged: warm, earthy colours and delightful prints on the walls, imbuing the place with an inviting rustic warmth. There have been some interesting changes to the menu, and Angela and I went for the garlic king prawns; this was a mastery in flavour and texture. We then went for the salmon from their specials' menu, and this was brilliantly prepared on a bed of mashed potatoes and trimmings, and was truly delicious. This culinary perfection was baptised with a great Italian white, Malfasia, which cmplemented our meal wondrously. We were too full for dessert but Angela went for a Mirto and lemon tea; I relished my traditional Limoncello and black Americano. Plus we had complimentary ones - grazie mille, Alfie. Throughout the meal we were bathed in mesmerising jazz from Sylvie, whose vocals were spellbinding; Seb, whose unique phrasing on his saxophone was simply enthralling; and Harry, whose guitar control was out of this world, with a lightness of touch that was unforgettable. Though they were packed out, the service never faltered in professionalism and friendliness. Alfie, one of three proprietors, even found the time to laugh and share banter with us. Kevin, the second proprietor, and who did so well in the 'hot room' found time to chat with us before we left. This is what Casa Pipino is famous for: great food, welcoming chat and laughter, and spectacular live jazz. Thank you for such an uplifting dining experience. Ciao. First time we've come here and it was brilliant. Simple menu, extremely good value and delicious food. Service was attentive and welcoming. Good choice of menu and very efficient service. Will definitely come here again. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Cozy and small local pizza house. But my what a pizza the chef can cook. I've been to Italy many times and didn't have such a nice pizza.

We booked this place for dinner for 5 last minute for tonight, 19/01/18. Everything was easy. Very welcoming over the phone and when we walked in. Very easy menu to take in. Excellent food, with a cosy ambience. As my wife said, this will undoubtedly become our local. I am kicking myself for not coming here before.

We were greeted with welcoming warmth by Silvi, whom we haven't seen for awhile, and she looked lovely and was on top form. We were shown to our table and placed our orders to Seb's brilliant saxophone phrasing, Sylvia's exciting vocals, and David's faultless guitar. Angela and I ordered the same: garlic king prawns and smoked swordfish and tuna. We relished every mouthful. This culinary delight was accompanied by an Italian white wine, Malfasia, which was light and fruity, complementing our meal perfectly. The place was pleasantly full, and the atmosphere of happiness flowed throughout the restaurant. The proprietors Alfie, Silvi, and Kevin are lovely, friendly people and all work damned hard. Angela and I would like to say a big 'thank you' to you and all at Casa Pipino's for the friendship and great food, and to Seb, Sylvia, and David for the superb musical renditions and innovations. Excellent food in a homey traditional Itallian restaurant. Good service and the primitivo wine was one of the best wines I've tasted. Extremely good value for portion sizes and wine. Will certainly be coming back soon !

I have been visiting this restaurant frequently for the past couple of years and I have to say that I have yet to come across any other restaurant that serves more delicious food or that makes any guest feel more welcome. The food is traditional, home cooked Italian that takes me back to memories of spending summer holidays in Sicily as a teenager. We are always made to feel so welcome by Alfie, Kevin and the team. We never feel rushed to make an order or to leave the restaurant at the end of the night. It's run with such a strong Italian, family attitude. All are welcome! The food is delicious, the service is outstanding, the atmosphere is impeccable. What more can I say?! Grazie mille Casa Pipino!

Excellent food, good service and great jazz! I love how intimate and very personal this restaurant is. We were greeted by the owner the moment we came in and was looked after really well for the rest of the night. We had an amazing 3-course meal and the serving is leaning more on the generous side. Best tiramisu ever! Will definitely come back.
