Mackays of Eyemouth in Scottish Borders

Mackays was absolutely the best fish and chips I had tasted in years. The portions were very generous, and the menu was surprisingly wide-ranging too.

Been a few times on our stay in Eyemouth, ice creams are lovely and great flavours. They were generous when a seagull snatched my daughter's from outside and they replaced without charge. Fish and chips good and everyone friendly. Thanks

Had our lunch here and we both had the fish and chips. My portion was huge and I really struggled to eat it. Very tasty fish indeed. Not too expensive at all! Very reasonable. Great views of boats coming into harbour. The woman who served us was so so friendly!! We will be back.

I can't understand the bad reviews but there are always some miserable difficult to please people around. I found McKays excellent. Fish and chip absolutely delicious. Service excellent and cleanliness of the restaurant 1st class. Had a very enjoyable meal. So good I have booked a family meal there for my 80th birthday.

The prices are too expensive and the fish was not very tasty. They don’t have scraps/batter either! Would not return or recommend.

Fish and chips is my favourite meal of all time so I am delighted to say that I will be back many times to have it again here. This was close to the best I have ever had.

Didn't realise we had to be waited to be seated (the sign us round a corner on a wall) and the way we were spoken to was, quite frankly, disgusting. We had a tea, which was stewed. We would have left but our little boy was desperate for an ice cream. Sort your attitude, lots of reviews on here say how rude staff are. You are doing yourself out of business as we would have bought more food if staff had been friendly. It did seem like they were only nice with people they knew. Definitely would not recommend any part of it.

Something to be aware of is that the chips are cooked in beef dripping (this isn't signposted) so disappointing for vegetarians.

Waited for over 30 mins for food. Staff very unfriendly. Got back to caravan with 5 meals. After about 5 mins all meals went in the bin. Overpriced horrible food.

This is the first time this week we managed to get a inside table as during covid it was always busy when we went. We had lovely friendly service my husband had fish and chips and I had haggis and chips. Both meals were lovely and not greasey and the portions were big we couldn't finish our meals. It was a pity I didn't have room for a ice cream. There's always next year

Went in here for king rib supper and chicken nugget supper both were inedible both went in the bin cost me £15 king rib tasted as if it was processed the batter was dark and greasy the chips were hard and they are meant to be award winning I read reviews about the place some not good but decided I should give it a chance definitely won’t be back waste of money

Brilliant staff very friendly wonderful ice cream and fish n chips and pizza and lovely view staff lovely ,the cake and puddings are delicious ,good choice ,the ice cream is homemade

Used this shop last night I got black pudding supper , ok My wife got fish supper, not ok Within 2 hours of eating she was violently sick for hours

The food at Mackays is always great however their shabby customer service lets the place down, this is the 3rd time I’ve been and it’s been the same every time so it’s not a one off. My friend and I, along with two other couples asked to be seated in the restaurant and the young lady was very rude and unhelpful to all of us, in the end we all left and went to the Ship where the service was brilliant. It all comes down to customer service for me and I’d rather not spend my money in a place where the service is rude.

We visited here over a year ago. We just had a takeaway fish and we also had mozzarella sticks. Fish was nice and mozzarella sticks were good as well. We sat outside with them as the weather was nice. Prices are reasonable. They do takeaways and you can also sit in if you like. Would return if back in area again

We've driven to Eyemouth regularly from the central Borders over the last while to have fish and chips from Mackays. Usually eat in the car at the harbour(and buy more fish there to bring home!) but given the awful weather decided to eat inside today. Absolutely delicious and the experience made even more joyful by the manner of and service from the lovely young waitress who couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful-what a difference that really does make to the experience of eating out!

Don’t often review food but wanted to because the fish and chips from Mackays was soooo good. No queue at lunchtime but a 10 minute wait as it was cooked freshly. We ordered a single fish and chips to share and it was ENORMOUS! Beautifully crisp.The added bonus is that there is outside seating to the side or on the beach front which was great in the sun. Highly recommend!!

Usually a queue outside a fish & chip shop is a good sign, not here however. We waited 15-20 minutes in the queue outside and ordered 2 x fish & chips to eat whilst sitting by the harbour. The chips weren't hot and one of the fish was mainly batter containing very little fish (not sure how that was achieved). The queue just reflects the slow service and the final product is disappointing.

Was looking forward to a Cary out fish and chips in this fishing village while on holiday here but have never had such greasy chips and soggy fish. Suspect a lack of competition may be to blame - can’t think of any other excuse.

9 out of 10 for the fish, absolutely delicious, crispy batter and very well cooked fish, chips hard and undercooked. 2 out 10 for the service.Girl who took my order was too busy trying to listen to the other girls gossiping. Immediately forgot my order and had to ask again. Asked if card or cash payment, I said "cash" yet she brought the card reader to me. She then realised she'd forgotten to put my order in!!The gossiping loudly continued punctuated by swearing, which despite the fact I was queuing outside the door I could clearly hear!Whoever the poor other staff member was they were ripping apart god help her!

On a fine February day we decided to have a carry-out of Eyemouth fish while overlooking the harbour. There were two fish & chip shops. We chose the wrong one: tasteless fish and an excess of uninspired batter. We thought the price was high but, later, we looked online and saw that everything on offer was overpriced. Our first and last visit to Mackays.

This was my wife and I first visit to Mackays at Eyemouth after many good reviews from locals where I live in the Scottish Borders, and we both were not disappointed from the lovely views to the very helpful lady who served us, and the fresh Eyemouth fish and chips were superb, cooked in beef dripping makes all the difference in taste, the fish was fresh and the batter perfect, and all good value for money, if I had to complain about anything the restaurant could have been a little warmer, but overall a great place to dine and can highly recommend

Stopped off for fish and chips to eat in the car looking out over Eyemouth harbour. Unfortunately whilst waiting for fish to cook I laid eyes on a delightful array of ice creams. Had to revisit once fish and chips consumed and purchased two ices...fantastic.

Staying at the local caravan park and needed an easy Friday night tea.One of the staff on site recommended here as we were too late to eat on site and was glad we sampled the delights.Our local chippy at home is good but last nights food was amazing. The kids meal was a perfect size, the fish and fishcakes we delicious and the chips were the best we have sampled.I would highly recommend anyone to visit and the staff serving were super helpful and friendly (even under these difficult times and with a constant queue of hungry customers)

Not my first trip here, but so good we came back!! I really feel for staff- doing their best to keep it all covid safe and dealing with ever changing rules!!The fish and chips were delicious and we self safe eating there- with great views to a wild sea!! I look forward to calling in when things get back to normal once again!!Nom nom!!

The cost of two portions of fish and chips was way above what we expected. The chips were okay but disappointed in the amount of fish underneath alot of batter....

I've eaten a lot of fish and chips in my time, but I've never ever had one as tasty and as fresh as here. To say its excellent is an understatement. Just cannot sing the praises of this restaurant enough. Very friendly staff service with a smile great atmosphere. Looking forward to going back. If your in Eyemouth eat here, you wont be disappointed.

We had fish and chips which were delicious, good portion size and not greasy. Able to sit outside and enjoy the view. Also enjoyed good ice cream too.

We stopped off for afternoon tea and a cake to ward of the hunger pangs till tea time. I got a pot of Tea and other half a Cappachino we both had a Strawberry Cream Tart and it was large and loaded with cream, very nice indeed. The Bantry is a small place so nip in early and it is as you would expect clean. Not cheap though the bill came to £12.00. This was our only visit as we did find better for value elsewhere...

This is becoming a regular place to meet up with a friend who lives nearby. Really can't understand any negative comments about the food. We've always had really good fish and chips with a lovely cake or ice cream to finish. This time I had the scampi which was delicious. It came with chips, coleslaw, salad and tartare sauce. My wife had a prawn salad which she really enjoyed and the traditional fish and chips is always a winner. Also can't understand any negative comments on the staff. Maggie is very good fun and has a bit of banter with the customers. The view out to sea is really nice on a sunny day and it's a cosy place to watch the waves on a windy/wet day. They have limited the number of tables in use due to COVID19 so it's worth booking ahead. Tables and menus are well sanitised and there's sanitiser at the door.

Tea, coffee and scones.... all excellent. Strong tea, good coffee and very tasty scones. Reasonable prices. Will return.

Just down the road from our hotel they offer great fish & chips carry out. There is a restaurant around the back if you want to sit in. We enjoyed our supper highly recommended

I’ll start by saying the food is fine. The restaurant shuts at 6pm which isn’t very good, the chippy may stay open until 8 but I they weren’t exactly clear when I asked. Now to my main point, my mum ordered a scone and tea with a younger member of staff which she was served, I proceeded to ask another older member for the same... well this woman was a pitbull she was the living definition of a “Karen” (Even had the haircut) she told me they aren’t doing scones anymore and the younger one questioned when the rule came in, to which the “Karen” was disgusting in the way she spoke to her, belittling, aggressive and rude. She made up some thing about people ordering scones and using it as an excuse to use the bathroom (??) I was that disgusted and annoyed at her I told her to forget it, grabbed my teas and left. Ten mins later I was outside and saw someone else walk out with scones! So to the pitbull Karen woman if you were my colleague I’d have boiled your head in the fryer. You are one vile human. The rest of the staff were lovely.

Read mixed reviews but tryed it anyway only ordered a portion of chips very average which is more than i can say about the price expensive for what i got

Stayed in Eyemouth for a few days and had the haggis everyday as it was the best! Also had ice cream on our last day and it was fantastic, wish we had it every day to try different flavours. If you’re in the area you must visit!

How can you be a 70 plus year seaside chippy and be so poor? Chips (skin still on) were hard at the edges, dry, and tasteless. My partner gave them 4 1/2 out of 10. I get what she meant: they weren't actually unpleasant, but average would be an undeserved compliment.

People on the table next to me were spoken to in a very rude and loud manner. Absolutely disgusting behaviour by the staff. Never seen such bad manners I will not return.

Stopped off at Eyemouth yesterday on way back from a lovely holiday in Northumberland. Decided to eat at Mackays, at their outside seating area, as we had our dogs with us. Explained this to a restaurant staff member and she told me to order round the corner at take away-no mention that we couldn’t use toilet facilities after the meal-I wouldn’t have bought the food if she had! At the end of the meal, I went in and asked politely to use the toilet as we had just eaten at their outdoor seating. I was just told bluntly that you can’t use them, management rules. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he is too busy. I insisted and the supposed manager appeared, no introduction, just told me in a disgusting manner that I was causing a scene and ushered me outside! I explained the situation that we had eaten their food at their outside seating area and would like to use toilets. I said we weren’t told before buying that we couldn’t use them. His attitude was disgraceful, saying: ‘You didn’t ask’, ‘Did you not ask in arcade?’ and ‘There are plenty other’s around, what’s your problem!’. A polite explanation, then informing me of these other toilets, of which, as tourists we were unaware, would have been helpful and respectful. I also have two concerns; chips purchased had pieces of fish batter in them, which would suggest possible cross contamination of raw food, this is of concern for people with food allergies; secondly, during Covid-19 we saw no evidence of staff checking and sanitising their outdoor tables. Owner should worry that this disgusting staff behaviour will tarnish his/her business. Being polite and respectful costs nothing. I will definitely not be back!

Myself and my family came in to enjoy a coffee and some fish and chips. We were told to wait until 12 as that's when they start serving food. After about a 35 minute wait and a few coffees drank we needed the loo. We went inside and was rudely spoken to by an older women who works there. There's is no need for shouting and intimating us just because we wanted to use your facilities.We left without buying anything else and would never come backSort you staff out!

You need to order and pay cash at the same time. People are asked to go in one at a time. We had scampi and chips, scampi hot and tasty, chips could of been hotter. There is a small seating are outside or you can sit near the harbour

Had a fantastic meal here today. Fish and chips to rival anywhere. Very clean. Felt safe in current climate and very friendly service. Cakes looked great, but we were too full to try them.

Got a takeaway at 7.45pm and honestly wish I hadn’t bothered. Food was good however but the attitude was poor. CASH ONLY? During covid? (Dodging the books more like) You can get your card machine sorted easily lets not bulls**t.Ordered a kids meal and a sausage supper. Woman was sarcastic when I explained i hadn’t seen the sign regarding cash only (around 20+ printed out signs plastered everywhere).If it wasn’t for getting the child’s meal i’d have gone to get cash and never come back.Food was good. Overpriced though.Won’t be back. Sort your attitude.

Lovely evening meal here last night. Tow fish and chips for The Mrs and me. One child went with chicken nuggets and the other for the children’s fish and chip option. The haddock was lovely and sweet (no Cod here) and we all enjoyed our meals. The service was lovely. The children’s meals included a fruit shoot and an ice cream. The Mrs got some lemon meringue pie to take home and said it was fab too.Definitely one to try and if you can get a table beside the window to get the views.

Dirty, overpriced and it wasn’t just the chips that were salty! Made to feel really unwelcome. Eyemouth very nice but this was a mistake. Avoid. Plenty of other places to eat.

Went mid-afternoon for a meal, without a booking but we we're able to get a table. Signage 're in/out was very clear, staff pleasant (yes, even the lady with short grey hair) although we had ordered before we were asked for contact details, but it's still a new system. The pensioners high tea was plenty for me and was delicious, light batter, fresh fish and non-greasy chips with mushy peas (£10 including coffee and bread and butter). The full fish tea came with two portions of fish for an extra £4. (We pay that for a single fish at our local take away!). Definitely recommend if you're in the area. Good cleaning regime followed at other tables while we were there.

Fish and chips here are proof that heaven is a place in earth, it is exceptional for hose on a budget and the ice cream is fantastic, well worth a 5 star review

Dissappointed is an understatement, hoping to enjoy " award winning fish and chips".Instead greeted by rude staff and served up dry fish and chips then charged £39 for the pleasure.If I was you I would swerve this unfortunate experience and go elsewhere. Happy holidays

Gave the lady our order then waited for over 45 minutes in a que. Was left waiting at the front of the que whilst the staff served everyone else behind me. Didnt order anything special, just a sausage supper and a fish supper, so dont know why everyone else was getting served the same. I finally said something and was given our food. Disappointed was an understatement given the long wait, which I would have forgot about if the food had been nice. There was more batter than fish and the chips were stuck together and translucent with grease, portion sizes were awful given the price. I've had much better suppers at a much lower cost. We've been here a few times over the years, but this place has really gone downhill. Dont be fooled by the large que either, this is just because they leave people waiting for so long. Avoid at all cost.

We have been to MacKays before so decided to get some fish suppers recently as a takeaway. The fish was huge and really tasty with lovely crispy batter and the chips were nice and dry. Could not fault anything, will definitely be back and recommend to others.

I Don't normally write negative reviews but feel the need today. My children wanted an ice cream at your store as a treat. We went to walk in the ice cream entrance, their was a sign saying "DO NOT ENTER". Totally understanding due to the pandemic we queued for 15 min happily in the fish and chip queue and waited thinking it was one way. Once I got to the front the lady asked my children to wait outside,I asked could they look at all the flavours of ice cream, she replied no as I'd came the wrong entrance, I went to walk to the ice cream and she made me walk out the door and back through the no entrance sign? I took my 4 year old to the counter and she shouted " get out ,you can't be in with him ". 4 years old? She then looked at her work colleague and said " it's not hard is it?".It is hard if you have a no entry sign for the ice cream parlour and then want people to enter that way? The mature lady ,with short grey cropped hair is very rude and unprofessional. What a disappointing start to our break.

Stopped here for fish n chips - surely the best test for a chip shop? Chips were great, nice big chunky fresh chips. 10/10. Fish...oh dear. Something not right - batter was overly crispy/ crunchy and mostly not attached to the fish. It came away in big slices - cooked at the wrong temperature or something? Either way, it was rubbish. The actual fish, was fine - seemed moist and tasty enough- spoiled by the batter.

Lovely fish and chippy restaurant. We had the fish, chips and curry. Exactly what you would expect, fresh fish perfectly cooked in a light crispy batter. Proper chippy chips and plenty of tangy curry. A lovely helpful chatty lady served us between all the cleaning she had to do for Covid. Great place, would definitely go back.

Great fish and chips with friendly service.We arrived in Coldingham and I travelled down to get take-away fish and chips for the family. As it was peak time for service they were very busy but the queues went down very quickly and they were observing the correct polices.The service was very fast and helpful and they have a great choice on display. The only issue I would highlight is that their card machine was not working.The meal itself was lovely. The chips were not too greasy and it was a great portion size. The haddock was cooked to perfection!

We've been Holidaying in Berwick for years now but only decided to pop in for lunch last year. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is that I'm sorry we didn't try it years earlier. The chips are absolutely delicious and the portion sizes are huge (especially the fish). There isn't a huge selection for vegetarians but what they do more than makes up for it with flavour. My stepdad has even claimed that the curry sauce is the best he's ever had which I whole-heartedly agree. Its the new tradition for us to eat here every year

Popped in for a cuppa decided to have chips. First time in an eatery since before lockdown. Cleaning tables and chairs in between customers but no details asked for nor staff wearing masks.One toilet open, bin full, no cleaning stuff so used hand sanitizer and hand towel before and after. No record of cleaning visiblein loo. Tea and chips good thoDon't think I'll be eating out again any time soon.

We went on a recommendation from friends. We had curry and chips that my son would not eat as it was a fruit flavour curry sauce and swimming (sometimes not a bad thing). I had fish and chips. The chips were nice but the fish batter was so thick there was hardly any fish underneath and the fish was dry. For paying £11.40 I just expected a little better, especially after two recommendations.

Not as good as it has been ordered just chips they tasted of fish and I had loads of fish batter and flakes of fish and on another visit the king rib was drowned in over powering sauce and salt this place has went down hill badly

We ate in the restaurant yesterday and it wasn’t a great experience. There were no toilet facilities as both of the toilets were out of order, so we had to walk along the road to use the one public toilet in Eyemouth ( which is disgusting). The service was fast, but the food was overpriced and did not taste good. The chips were undercooked and the fish consisted mainly of batter, most of which was too crispy to eat. We have eaten at Mackays before and really enjoyed it, so we were disappointed that their standards have slipped so much. We won’t be back

I don't like chips but the chips I had here were utterly unbelievable. Make sure to go on a night time because it's safer and the service was really fast.

On Saturday 11 July we had the misfortune to buy takeaway fish and chips 4 portions from Mackays. Each fish contained the equivalent amount of fish you would get in 1 or at the most 2 fish fingers. They were nothing but bloated batter with a tiny amount of fish absolutely an exorbitant waste of money. You get quality fish and chips at the other fish and chip takeaway in Eyemouth even though you will have to queue to order and wait for them to be cooked.

Have been looking forward to a fish supper right through lockdown! Travelled to Eyemouth today and was delighted to discover mackays was open. Wish they hadn't been. Very expensive, £2 more than the fabulous Rob Smiths in Spittal and not in the same league. An unbelievably thin piece of dry ,over cooked fish, hard chips and to add insult to injury they were incredibly mean with the salt, vinegar and sauce! We won't be back.

Nice fish and chips with a decent view included. Very busy cafe. Staff are the let down here unfortunately. Not very polite or friendly. Would probably try somewhere else next time we visit Eyemouth.

We visited Mackays twice on our holiday - once for a really delicious vegetarian burger with the crispiest sweet potato fries and a second time because the portions were so generous we did not have room for one of the incredible sweet treats available so we went back a few days later for coffee and cake – the lemon meringue pie was just amazing! On both occasions the staff were friendly and welcoming and we were lucky enough to get a window seat so we could watch the waves coming into the bay. Although not the cheapest place we ate over our holiday it was certainly the tastiest food and not at all expensive for the quality.

Arrived on a Sunday lunch time and managed to get a table. When we tried to order a gluten free fish we were told they didn’t do it on a busy day. We were then asked if we didn’t have any gluten free products with us like some bread and they would make us a sandwich? Why? Why would we carry bread to a restaurant with us? Only thing pulling it from a 1 star is the fact that 3 of us had fish and chips and it was definitely edible. Pretty tasteless though. All in all a poor effort from an establishment that is normally fairly decent!

as a fairly regular customer I recently bought a fish supper mid afternoon ,was not impressed with the dry old tasting chips they looked like had been lying about ..usually they are fresher ...Have to say was disappointed Mackays you charge enough for fish and chips customers deserve better I expect fresh golden chips Capisce !!!!!

Probably the worst piece of very SMALL fish I have ever been served, it certainly wasn't fresh, it was like mush inside the soggy batter, serving frozen fish just yards from the harbour is a con and a travesty. Cheap frozen fish at expensive fresh prices. The chips may have been fresh when they were taken out the fat but that was a long time before they were sold to us and where do they pull the ridiculous prices from for food of this quality?Lesson learned, stick to what you know, we won't be going past Jiacopazis ever again.

We came here for an ice-cream on a cold day after a very disappointing (and dangerous) meal at The Heathers Restaurant at Eyemouth Golf Club. We both had a tub with 2 scoops: caramel and cookie dough, and lemon curd crunch. Both flavours were delicious. My guest thought there was almonds in the caramel and cookie dough flavour; I could not taste them. We ate at the table inside.If you're allergic to nuts, I suggest you check which flavours contain nuts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our ice creams here. Quick and great customer service including chatting to the kids and making them feel a little special while eating our ice creams inside.

We were looking forward to eating here. My wife has a milk allergy, so was happy when we got in and saw a section on the specials board titled "Vegan Specials".Before we ordered we asked what on the menu is milk free. We were told everything had milk in. So my wife asks for one of the vegan specials, but was told they weren't suitable either as one was fried in the same frier as the fish, and the "vegan" pie is glazed with milk.It is a good job we asked or my wife would have been very ill after eating something advertised as milk free.Not acceptable service at all.

Really lovely, freezing cold night so sent boys for a take out it was really nice, really well cooked fish was amazing you could tell it was really fresh

Its okay and served a purpose, but had much better food (apart from Lemon meringue pie) for much better value. Nice views though and the best every lemon meringue pie ever (but it was £5 a slice, but have to say worth it)

Horrible, “freshly cooked” fish was burnt, chips were soggy, really disappointing! Stopped using this chip shop a few years ago, only went back as the other one in Eyemouth was closed! Don’t waste your money!

We tried the cafe at the back of the premises first but were told in no uncertain terms that not only were there no tables free but there wouldn't be for the foreseeable future. This despite at least three parties being on the verge of finishing/paying and no mention of tables being already booked. Service attitude/tone could be better! However we were hungry so we trooped around to the fish and chip shop at the front of the premises and found a bench table. What a difference. Friendly staff, lovely freshly cooked food. Presumably cheaper too. If you want fish and chips, highly recommended but skip the restaurant and eat in the takeaway.

I had the crab sandwiches which were delicious and Mum had fish cakes with a huge pile of chips she said they were lovely - but it was so huge she had no room left in her pudding tummy... And that's really unusual!

We've been visiting Eyemouth and Mackays for many years and can say that we have never been disappointed with the quality and service at Mackays. Keepup the good works folks!!!!

Polite behaviour does not cost anything, so we don’t understand why the lady running this restaurant is so rude with a huge portion of chips on her shoulder.

This is probably one of the best fish and chips I’ve had!! Large portions and best of all hardly any oil or grease. Would definitely recommend!!

We ordered the senior specials which were more than adequate. We thoroughly enjoyed them. The lady who served us was lovely - as we left we spotted the gelato so indulged in a corner each - yummy !

Beautiful fish lunch in the restaurant. A little pricey but excellent food. Bill was just under £60 for 3 adult & 1 child’s meal with drinks. Fish was obviously very fresh. Had the langoustine tails in batter - perfection! Would also recommend an ice cream from the takeaway

Came here in July and had the best fish and chips ever. We have raved about it for months. Drove back today 50 miles. Not so good. The fish had as much personality as the boy on the till. Last time we had 2 pieces of fish fresh cooked chips. Today very average one skinny piece of fish in loads of batter. chips were ok. What’s happened??

Our first night in Eyemouth and the fish and chip shop had been recommended so we came to Mackays. We were the only ones in the restaurant but it got a bit busier a short time later. We placed our order and got our coffees straight away followed by bread and butter. Unfortunately we had 25 minutes to wait for our meals to arrive. It was worth the wait however as the food was very good - huge portions, very fresh and tasty. Not cheap - almost £28 for 2 fish teas with coffee and bread and butter. A treat though!

We called here mainly for the fish and chips and we weren't disappointed. We had two of the smaller portions and were going to have a pudding, but the fish and chips filled us. The normal portions were enormous so be hungry if you call. The cakes and scones are all cooked on site and looked lovely. Soups and sandwiches were also good. The only downside was the specials. They only had different sorts of fish cakes but you could have a nice salad if so desired.

We recently visited Eyemouth and stayed at the nearby Park Resorts on our first evening after driving from Nottingham we were all hungry so went to get some fish and chips we were not disappointed! Lovely chips I had fish cake and mushy peas too lovely quality food at a reasonable price. We had an ice cream on our walk down too lovely ice cream which states its award winning and I can see why! I had the Scottish tablet one and was unsure what it was so was given a sample to try and I wasn’t disappointed!

Nice little restaurant/ tea house. We had afternoon tea and cakes - which were lovely (loads of cream - so heart attack territory). Others were eating fish and chips and it looked really nice and from the expressions of their faces it was good! Great place to break coastal walk !!

I have been here a couple of times now. The food is great although I haven't used the resteraunt. Staff seem pleasant.

I called in for a supper of fish and chips. I don't normally have fish and chips these days because of the pore quality of service and the fish and chips are normally very oily and the fish being not fresh tasting.

I am a veggie. However, I love fish and this was my best ever fish and chips ever. Perfect chips. Batter amazing. Come and check it out 😁👍
