So glad to write this review for Macellaio in SK and its very professional staff. We decided to go out for dinner at Macellaio last Thursday 3rd of June, it was me and two other friends. Space is not massively big so I suggest booking a table if you want to be sure to find a seat and enjoy your evening. We had booked an inside table and as soon as we arrived we were nicely welcomed by the staff. The atmosphere is very chilling, the scent in the dining room is tasty and the choice and quality of food are relevant. The staff of Macellaio immediately proved to be very courteous and kind. We were served by Federica, who explained the history and concept of the restaurant. Very interesting. We decided to go for a shared plate but I love rare meat and my mate well-done meat. Federica, kindly, advised us of the dishes to order. We had the opportunity to try different types of meat and during the choice of the main dish, we were introduced to Luca who showed us the part of beef that he had selected for us, he has been friendly and prepared regarding his job. The quality of food is amazing, tasty and I will go back there for sure. I would like to say thank you to Federica, Luca and all the staff for their dedication. I was satisfied with my evening, I spent such a lovely time at Macellaio and we will be going back again.

One week ago I went to macellaio with some friends. We heard a lot good things on this restaurantand we are completely agree with it. The food was amazing and the service great. All the staffs were professional and kind. Amazing service from the manager Federica and Luca, the guy in the macelleria, that gave us suggestions and explanations about the amazing food that they served to us. From the beginning to the end always with the smile and with professional. Absolutely recommend.

This is the best Meat restaurant in London and in all UK! Exceptional Food with amazing products, Excellent Service with professional Team. We had the honour to meet the owner Roberto Costa in our last visit and we really hope he can open soon in our home town, Rome. Really nice meal. We paid £243 for two people with awesome starters and great steak . Nice Barbera wine. <br />Our Italian waiter was nice. But when we wanted to order dessert the hostess or manager had the attitude that we should just get on with it as she wanted to seat others at our table.she said we had recess mail stating we had 90 min at our table. But the mail actually said 2 hours. <br />When we made a fuss they gave us one desert and 2 drinks. This was a compensation but it was obvious that the hostess was not having a good day and was not giving a good impression of the place. <br />Not sure I want to return.

Went here with my girlfriend for our first evening meal in London. The staff are courteous, friendly and attentive. Had the beef heart to start, not overly hot but tasty. We ordered the steak Florence to share and were shown the meat before it was cooked. Wow the steak was so tender and delicious, best beef I’ve ever tasted! Highly recommend.

Era da tempo che desideravo andarci. La particolarità di questo ristorante è il bancone come una vera macelleria dove puoi scegliere il tuo taglio di carne.La qualità della carne è indubbiamente eccellente, i piatti deliziosi. Da provare assolutamente gli starters di tartare, senza farvi mancare i dolci, davvero particolari, come la panna cotta alla menta e il latte dolce fritto. We have visited Mocellaio for my husband's birthday and I have to say that we left very satisfied and impressed. The food is delicious, the staff is amazing and helpful with high standards of service. Big thanks to Federico and Billy who looked after us so well. Great pasta, brilliant meat and great selection of wines. This is where I had the best steak in London so far. I definitely recommend it for the meat lovers out there, and we will be back for sure.

My girlfriend and I went out to celebrate a lovely dinner out post-lockdown.We have already been in the branch located atUnion Street for New Year's Eve, and we genuinely fell in love so much that we wanted to experience it again.The atmosphere is charming, and the staff is exceptionally customer-focused! The sommelier was outstanding in suggesting and guiding us to a perfect red wine choice without being pushy or too wordy. The waiter Federico was looking after our table and explaining to us very passionately the menu and the different cut of the meat. The owner and the whole crew was truly reflecting an Italian spirit and origin, making us feel at home like nowhere. We have been also offered a jaw-dropping dessert and the dinner was an absolute success! This place was 45 min away from where we live in London, but given the fantastic experience, we will certainly come back.

Me and my friends were looking for a place for a lunch in the area and we stumbled upon this place.We shared a few starters (some of which they kindly offered for us to try) and some focaccia. The bone marrow starter was delicious and you could tell the meat was the best quality.for mains we had one ragu pasta and two steaks. Every single dish was packed with flavour and we enjoyed every single bite.The best part was the service. Our waiter Federico was amazing. He made sure we were well looked after and that our food was to our liking.I look forward going back to this great place.

In questa realtà italiana di grande successo a Londra, è possibile gustare le prelibatezze nostrane, preparate in maniera superba, con una meravigliosa commistione di tradizione (carni a cottura molto lenta, patate arrosto, polenta) e innovazione (affumicatura, grande disponibilità di crudi di carne, panna cotta al basilico). La qualità della carne è indiscutibile. L'antipasto "L'imperiale", contenente un po' di tutto, è un ottimo modo per provare che a Il Macellaio hanno un'offerta davvero prelibata di carni e formaggi, perciò lo consiglio vivamente. Tutte le carni servite successivamente, per quanto chiaramente non le abbia provate tutte, sono preparate con grande rispetto e cura, sia per la carne stessa che per il cliente, che viene davvero coccolato dallo staff, mentre si gusta tutto ciò che gli viene servito. A finire, ci è stata offerta la panna cotta al basilico. Dessert fresco, perfetto per stemperare i sapori dei piatti precedenti e farti uscire dal locale (ancora più) felice. Il conto rispecchia l'alta qualità della cucina nel contesto di uno dei quartieri più ricchi di Londra, per cui non mi sembra il caso di dargli troppo peso nel giudizio complessivo. Per gli amanti della carne, italiani e non solo, è un must.

3/15 Sunday evening in LondonAs we entered Macellaio, we were greeted with a big welcome by Federico, a smiling server originally from a town near Cinque Terre, Italy. However, Federico was so much more than just our waiter for the evening. Full of charm, great humor and expert attentiveness, he was our master host, our gastronomical guide, our story-teller and entertainer. In fact, it seems the staff there love a bit of theatre: viciously sharp knives are stabbed into tables with a thud, meat is butchered loudly to order and steaks are delivered under silver cloches until presented to guests with a dramatic reveal. Still, the restaurant and its dishes had a true authentic feel, reminding us a lot of our nostalgic travels in Italy. The restaurant generously started us off with some complimentary and fantastic cured bresaola and house-made focaccia. We added to that an order of perfectly paired prosciutto and creamy burrata cheese. Once we found out the soup of the day was a Ribollita, one of our favorites from Tuscany, we ordered that right away. This soup is very popular after the wine harvest is done and autumn is in full swing, made of bread, cannelloni beans, and vegetables. We also ordered a superb house-made potato Gnocchi with Castelmagno cheese fondue. And then the star of the night was the tender and tasty Costata del Macellaio, a 9-week dry-aged Fassona beef rib steak, cut and trimmed right in front of us before going to the kitchen. For dessert, we each ordered digestives: a Limoncello, Montenegro and a Cynar. And even though the free starter and gracious service was already far enough to delight us, Federico still brought us a complimentary tiramisu to celebrate Bailey’s birthday trip. All the food and service was amazing and I would give this place 6 stars on a 5-star rating system. The whole experience was enough to even impress Her Royal Majesty the Queen. :-)

Had a steak here split between two people and it was quite the best steak I have had in a long time! The wine list is also great. If you are a real steak connoisseur then you will not be disappointed here! There is also a butchers at the front of house and had it been open at night I would have bought some to take home! Loved it!

Dont be deceived by the outside this is a meat eaters paradise. Expect lots of Italians to be here and for good reasons. They have their own butcher on site cutting meats and provide a range of specialists meats. I went for simple sirloin with oil and salt with sauteed potatoes - outstanding, the taste the texture were perfect. It has been a long time since I have had steak this good...with a carafe of wine it was perfect. This was great service, great food and a delight

Nous sommes ravis. Le concept est original, nous mangeons dans une boucherie. Les serveurs sont souriants, très sympathiques et patients, ils ont pris le temps de tout nous expliquer malgré la barrière de la langue. La viande est de grande qualité, le vin était excellent, les frites et les pommes de terre sautées maison très bonnes. Et les desserts nous ont enchantés. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir. Tout était parfait.

Nel cercare su tripadvisor abbiamo trovato la macelleria. Abbiamo prenotato e siamo andati ad arrivarci e molto comodo. Entrata bellissima con la carne appena e il bancone della macelleria subito all’ingresso dove lavorano la carne. I ragazzi italiani sono super ospitali e ti trattano da principi. Ti offrono antipasto e poi ti ordini. Fanno tutti i tipi di carne dalla fiorentina alle costine al carpaccio al pollo tutte in maniera ottima anche pasta e formaggi. Dolce buonissimo sia il la panna cotta al basilico sia il gelato fritto e il caffe piu buono di londra. Il prezzo e correttissimo infatti abbiamo mangiato cosi bene che abbiamo fatto tutte le nostre 5 sere con loro. Appena tornero a londra ci torno subito.

Dopo le recenzioni su trip advisor siamo stati in questo ristorante devo dire che si mangia bene abbiamo preso una Costata peso 840 circa delle patate al forno, una insalata di finocchi 2 birre moretti Siciliana siamo stati serviti da Federica che ci ha spiegato tutto il menu',la carne era buona, ma il tiramisu' era meglio della carne....servizio ottimo, tutti Italiani in sala service charge incluso nel prezzo.

We descovered this little jewel by chance. We had a rib steak and a fillet, both excellent. The waiter was very hospitable and appeared very careful to ensure we were comfortable and happy with the food. The desserts were a very good surprise too. Amazing service! We have been served by Federico, one of the supervisor. He has been fantastic, his customer service is one of the best we ever received. The beef was amazing as well. Billy served us the drink and has been special. Federica has been amazing as well. Compliments to the staff. We will go back for sure.

Had dinner the 4th of february. Wonderful experience. The meat is simply amazing and tasty. The place is great with a unique atmosphere. But I’ll come back for sure because of the service. Since the beginning Federico was really friendly with me and gave me wonderful suggestions on the plates and the wine pairing. Even if the place was full he was always there ready to help. I give 5 stars to Macellaio RC South Kensington and 5stars cum laude to Federico. Thank you again for the great service and for the friendly attitude.

A great night out for a special occasion. Federico, our waiter, was solid gold; funny and helpful, with sincere suggestions and some Italian humor, def made our night. I had written in the booking that we had a birthday and he made sure to surprise us with a cake and a song. Everything is great in its simplicity and very tasty. We loved it.

Estuvimos allí ayer por la noche para celebrar el cumpleaños de mi pareja. Todo iba bastante bien (aparte del hecho de que tuve que pedir dos veces una trona, que ya había sido solicitada cuando reservé la mesa). Después de terminar mi comida, bajé a las damas. Mientras esperaba para entrar, me senté frente a ellos (las mujeres y los inodoros están cerca), vi algo repugnante: un miembro del personal con uniforme negro, se acercó a los caballeros, escuché el inodoro y en segundos salió. . Claramente no se había lavado las manos. Cuando nos preguntaron si todo estaba bien con nuestra comida, le mencioné lo que vi y le dije que no quería revisar el restaurante sin decirles primero. La camarera me dijo que hablaría con el gerente. Para mi mayor sorpresa, cuando vino a hablar con nosotros, me dijo que los muchachos que trabajaban en la cocina no usaban el inodoro en el período de tiempo mientras yo esperaba usarlo. En ese momento, definitivamente me sentí insultado, y le dije que si no creía mis palabras (¿por qué demonios un cliente inventaría esto?), Podía ir a revisar su sistema de CCTV interno (noté que había una cámara señalando que corredor).

Very disappointing experience tonight. We have been going to macellaio for the past 6 years and never had the experience we had tonight. We had a reservation at 8pm, a lady welcomed us in saying we had only 1 hour 30 minutes to eat (the booking said 2 hours, however I don’t feel it is nice to say it as first thing as soon as we entered the restaurant). I informed the team we had 2 hours stated on the booking confirmation. We ordered starters, main and wine. After 5 minutes we received starters, we finished the starters and after maybe 3 minutes we had our Fiorentina ready on the table. In 30 minutes our dinner was over and immediately 2 waiters came to ask for desserts. We still had more than half bottle of the wine ordered (90£ bottle) to drink and we obviously informed the team that the service was way too fast... definitely not an enjoyable dinner and meat was not as good as usual.

Torniamo volentieri per cena di lavoro dopo 6 mesi e tutto è rimasto inalterato a livello di qualità. Ottimi piatti di carne serviti su piatti di pietra con buoni contorni. Un appunto sulla posizione del tavolo vicino alla porta di ingresso che alle varie aperture dei clienti portava aria fredda. Il locale non era pieno e quindi non capisco, pur avendo prenotato, perché non ci sia stato dato un tavolo interno. Camerieri molto gentili come sempre anche se questa volta sembravano un pó scarichi e stanchi. Conto un pó salato ma tipico di Londra. Almeno si mangia bene. Consigliato ma fatevi dare un tavolo nella saletta interna.

Not sure whether to tell everyone about this wonderful restaurant but really couldn't fault it. Excellent friendly service, wonderful meal and all recommended by the staff. Very good wine selection. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a very good evening.

We had seen this restaurant and actually went there after many years. The main restaurant is in the back. The meat is on display, loads of it. The tables are a little squashed but adds to the atmosphere. The staff are charming. The only drawback is if yiu are disabled the toilets are downstairs with steep stairs covered in slippery tiles. We had our own starters but did what most people were doing and shared a giant T-Bone. This is ordered by weight.

The staff were friendly enough but we were told the rump steaks were only 150 grams (they looked larger when we saw them arrive at other tables) so decided to have the t-bone. It was only post ordering that we were informed that the beef came from Italy. It arrived and after ordering medium rare, it was rare to blue, flavourless and tough as hell. In summary, the best beef in Europe in my opinion comes from Great Britain, Ireland and Northern Spain. At £32.50 per person without sides it was expensive and underwhelming. Other dishes may be great at the restaurant and reviews seem to show this, but avoid the t-bone.
