Lynnfield Hotel in Orkney Islands

Lovely, Lovely Hotel. The Room was gorgeous, warm, comfortable, spacious, spotlessly clean x. The meals were delicious. The staff excellent every single one of them. Engaging and helpful. Storm Babet extended our stay by x2 nights ....every cloud has a silver lining and ours was the Lynnfield. We will definitely return.

We had lunch at the Lynnfield Hotel. Our server was a lovely young lady, who provided attentive but not intrusive service. The food was quite bland, although the soup of the day (sweet potato) was tasty. The hotel and restaurant are removed from the road, so enter where the sign is and drive a little up the hill.

Two reviews, really. One for the restaurant (fastastic) and one for the hotel (just okay). I ate breakfast and dinner on multiple days. The food was consistently wonderful. The waitstaff were exceedingly pleasant and attentive. My room (Summerdahl) didn’t live up to its website advertisement. The lighting was extremely dim and gloomy. Access to any of the electrical outlets required shifting antique chairs and a very heavy bed. Loo paper wasn’t restocked, nor were there tissues. I had to scrounge some from the public toilet. Duvets barely reach the edge of mattress, so once you’re in bed, some body part is always subject to drafts. The hall passage to my room appeared to be cluttered storage for surplus chairs and antiques. The handicap accessible lift was also being use to store extra chairs. My bathroom was large and modern, but the stopper for the lovely tub wasn’t functional.

First time here on holiday though second visit and it has got even better. Staff were friendly and pleasant throughout. We used two different rooms at two ends of a week in Orkney - and the room in the ‘old’ part of the hotel has a 100% modern bathroom and more ‘oldie world’ furniture. The room in the newer extension was lovely with an equally good bathroom though more modern throughout. Hotel was quiet at night so sleep good and good blinds/curtains to cope with the near midnight sun. Breakfasts excellent and the two meals at the restaurant were a please. To note: friendly staff, lovely resident’s lounge (whisky or mint tea!) and superb showers!

I must admit that the first view of the hotel as you come up the drive isn't particularly inspiring as the colour of the walls is a particularly bilious shade of green in my opinion, but don't let that put you off. This hotel is a mix of a comfortable bric-a-brac shop and the bridge of the Star Ship Enterprise! You step into an old-fashioned, comfy hotel with knick-knacs everywhere, squashy sofas, a real log fire and a seriously impressive display of whisky, then enter the bedroom where the light turns on automatically when you open the door, the window blind (amongst other things,) can be operated from the electric control panel by your bed, there is a nightlight not only in the room, but in the bathroom, and the beds are really, really comfortable. Oh, and you have your own doorbell as well! Even the Do Not Disturb/Room Free signs are discreet lights on a panel outside the door. We stayed for two nights and ate at the hotel both nights. The food was very good, with a short-ish menu but a decent choice to cover most tastes. The one downside was the service which was appallingly slow. The staff themselves were very pleasant, but the wait between courses was close to unacceptable. That was the only downside however, and if we make it to Orkney again will certainly be looking to stay here.

My Mum and I had a meal here on our last night in Orkney. The food was well presented and was delicious. We did have to wait for a long time between courses and, we suspect the kitchen had a lack of staff as many tables had no food for a good amount of time. The restaurant staff were all young and, though not all confident in their roles yet, were polite, trying their best in the circumstances and apologetic about the wait everyone had. It's a lovely setting, it may have been a one off with the waiting that evening but, if not, as long as you know to be prepared then it's worth going.

Amazing rooms with all mod cons, spacious and decorated well staff couldn’t be more attentive and friendly. Food was fantastic, well made, tasty. We stayed for tea every night of our stay. They even offered for us to stay longer as we were getting the late night ferry to Shetland which saved us finding a restaurant then waiting for hours in our car to catch ferry.

Step into the lounge and you go back in time with the old furniture and Orkney chairs. Go to your bedroom and ultra modern with a panel that does everything electronic. Beautiful bathroom again with an ultra modern shower. Food is excellent, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner during our stay. Waiting staff very helpful.

A comfortable hotel with helpful, friendly staff and ample parking. Our room was well designed with a spacious, modern bathroom. There was some state-of-the-art electronics that took us awhile to get the hang of, but all good eventually. Situated next door to the Highland Park Brewery, convenient!

Appears to be a very popular restaurant for locals and cruise ship travelers, so book in advance. The decor is dated but the food was quite good. It was the first night in a week my husband's meat wasn't overcooked. He was very happy! Staff-h seemed a bit short-handed but we were there for a leisurely dinner.

I chose to stay here due to its proximity to the Highland Park Distillery. It was an easy albeit fairly long walk into town mostly downhill. I took a taxi back! The room was spacious and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge by Scotland standards. Staff was friendly and it was great meeting the person I had been in contact via email for a couple of months. The restaurant was great. Dinner was amazing and the breakfast was quite good too. They have an amazing selection of whiskies and gins. I can’t recommend this place more highly.

We popped in for a meal as we were staying near by. The decor was dated but we were pleasantly surprised by the meal. It was well presented & delicious so compliments to the chef. The majority of staff were pleasant however our experience was clouded by the frosty reception from a particular member of staff, i shall call 'P", another resident at the next table also commented on this apparently senior member of staff - her customer service was so bad we nearly left before our meal!

Lynnfield provided our least remarkable dinner while on Orkney. A very, very good amuse bouche pea soup which wasn't on the menu set things up very nicely, but the food we did order then didn't quite live up. The food was ok...the veg a bit overcooked, the sauce on the fish a bit thin...All that having been said, the place was running to capacity, albeit with a few staff short of a full complement. Staffing issues are endemic throughout the hospitality trade just now, and many places are running at full tilt to try and cope. Hopefully when things stabilise Lynnfield will be the place that earned all its good reviews once again.

We had a delightful dinner here. Our waitress was particularly excellent. All staff were really good. My girlfriend had hot smoked salmon and then rump steak with pepper sauce. I started with crab samosa and then scallops with root vegetables braised with cabbage. Everything was fabulous, and the scallops were the best I’ve ever eaten.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at the Lynnfield Hotel and two dinners and breakfast at their restaurant. The staff was so kind, friendly and helpful, dinner and wines were delicious and fresh and our rooms were elegant, clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here when exploring Orkney.

Stayed here for 1 night as part of a winter deal for locals. The suite was amazing and very luxurious. The food served for dinner was exquisite and the wine also very good. Service was quite slow but given they were busy to be expected.

Outstanding accommodation, great value for money good food and excellent breakfast. Great location for exploring orkney, plenty of parking and very helpful staff. The rooms are very comfortable and the showers are great.

We visited the restaurant on a Monday having been recommended by or favourite restaurant on the island (see other reviews), and consequently it was not busy. This ensured that we received very attentive and friendly service. The restaurant is spacious and the tables well separated....

What a great Friday night dinner we enjoyed here during our break on Orkney. Up a long driveway a wee distance from the centre of Orkney is this hotel. The place itself has a traditional feel to it - nothing minimalist or even especially historic...

Pretty average food. The restaurant would deserve a bit of refreshing. Pretty old school. Food was ok. We had the duck and mouton. Duck fat wasn't rendered properly and mouton was slightly over cooked. Overall ok experience but very expensive for what it is. Great...

The Lynnfield is very traditional. The restaurant is quite large, very traditionally furnished, and lacks just a little in atmosphere, perhaps because of the size. The food was very good, and the service attentive.

Went for dinner after tour of Highland Park distillery as it was recommended to us. The choice of whisky in the bar before our meal was outstanding. The a la carte menu is very good with halibut,monkfish and scallops to choose from as well as...

I stayed at the Lynnfield for five nights and was overwhelmed by stunningly delicious food every night. The waiting staff and cleaners were unequivocally kind and helpful. The room was a good size and very comfortable.

Trying hard to keep up to 4 Stars, doing OK. Staff excellent, food well cooked with a few good additions. Only negative was the North Ronaldsy Mutton which I wanted to try but liver and shoulder on the lunchtime menu did not appeal

Stayed here for 3 nights, comfortable rooms and excellent sleep quality. Good breakfast as well as ample tasty dinner with a great selection of local beers. Staff and management were very friendly and efficient. Comes highly recommended.

A fantastic place to enjoy a meal - rump steak with haggis on mashed potatoes or local scallops, excellent food in a warm ambience with a 400+ whisky collection which features the next door Highland Park products on the opening pages - what’s not to like?

Consistently good eating experience over the years. A really nice setting with some good views. Service very good and food too, great use of local produce. Wine list is outstanding. Currently the Covid "Eat Out to Help Out" menu offers spectacular VFM.

Can honestly say the best meal and experience I have ever had in a restaurant incredible food atmosphere and service especially the waitress Hannah who was friendly attentive and charismatic 5 stars all round

I was staying at the hotel and had therefore my dinner in the restaurant. They gave me a nice table by the window. Wine list is interesting. So I chose a bottle that followed me for the evening. Good food. Attentive service. A nice place to have dinner on the island.

We had lunch here as part of our Orkney cruise excursion. We started with bere bannock, a homemade barley bread, followed by braised Orkney mince and clapshot (boiled and mashed turnips and potatoes) and Orkney cheeses and oatcake. Then home bakes (cookies!) It was a treat to enjoy traditional Scottish fare that wasn’t haggis!

We celebrated the end of a week in Orkney with dinner here, and it did not disappoint. You start in the charming, comfortable lounge, filled with comfortable couches and easy chairs, sipping whisky, place your order, and are collected for dinner when it's ready. Such royal treatment! Each dish was a delight, and the view, high on a hill, was lovely. It was a grand way to end our trip.

Made to feel completely welcome, had a wonderful evening. Beautiful food with attentive staff but in relaxed restaurant - just difficult to choose the dram!!

Ich war im Zuge einer Fortbildung für eine Nacht im Hotel.Das Zimmer war sehr groß, jedoch teils mit etwas wackeligen Stühlen ausgestattet.Das Badezimmer ist riesig und sehr modern.Man weiß gar nicht ob man als erstes unter die tolle Regenschauer Dusche oder die riesige Whirlpool Badewanne nutzen soll.Das Frühstück ist teils Buffet teils Order.Die Whisky Bar ist hervorragend ausgestattet.Wir haben auch zu Abend gegessen.Es stehen nicht alltägliche Speisen auf der Karte und ich kann nur sagen, wir waren begeistert.Ein Bewertungspunkt Abzug für das in die Jahre gekommene Inventar, wie wackelige Stühle und sehr weiche durchgesessene Sofas.

We had and excellent lunch here, we both had the seafood platter which was very good. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful which made eating out with a baby a little bit easier.

Had dinner here , food was excellent and the service was top class ! The setting was perfect , pre dinner drinks in the lounge followed by dinner in the beautiful dining area ! Very impressed , staff were so friendly !

We didn't stay overnight here but did have dinner. I loved sitting in the traditionally-decorated lounge pre-dinner for a drink and a lovely canape. The dining room is comfortable and food was very good.

The food has gone downhill. I had the steak and it came as i asked it to be cooked. Very small bit, but tasted ok. The chips were just a disaster, soggy half cooked and warm when arrived at the table. before i finished my meal they were cold! Very small portion also. Not worth the price. Dessert was better thats why giving an average. Been here several times but reluctant to return.

Had dinner here on my last evening. excellent selection of locally sourced produce on the menu. the meal was wonderful and the service personnel were competent but also simply lovely. a great way to end my visit

Ate here twice during our 4 night stay on the island. Place has the feel of a slightly worn minor country house (which we liked) to it, menu whilst quite short still offered a good choice for everyone (we don't eat meat). Service was timely, food well prepared and presented, and whilst certainly priced on the higher side, offered good value for what you received and for the whole dining experience. Oh yes and a good wine choice too.

Exceptional and well-presented food, especially the extremely fresh seafood. Excellent and attentive service. Huge collection of whiskeys displayed throughout several comfortable, antique-filled lounge rooms.

We were a party of 20 and the staff were very friendly and managed our group very well.

Unfortunately tonight (6/8/19) my family and I have had a very poor experience at The Lynnfield Hotel and Restaurant.

They upgraded us to a sea view for our visit and we appreciated, the attention, the view and the larger space. The surprise was that their dining room was quite good! I will be looking for lemon posted in the future. Whole staff gets high marks

Thanks Malcom and team for another delicious meal last night. We began the evening in a cosy sitting room by a cabinet full of various Highland Park whiskies. My husband ordered a Scapa, also a fine Orkney whisky.

ich gönnte mir mal eine Pause vom Selberkochen auf dem Campingplatz. Wir wollten spontan ein feines Abendessen einnehmen. Ich hatte grosse Lust auf frischen Fisch. Leider funktioniert "spontan" in Kirkwall nicht. Wenn die grossen Kreuzfahrtschiffe anlegen, sind wohl alle Restaurants im Zentrum ausgebucht. So nahmen wir den Weg unter die Füsse und wanderten vom Campingplatz ins Lynnfield Hotel. Es hat sich gelohnt! Eine wirklich sehr, sehr nette Bedienung wies uns ins Wohnzimmer... Ja, so sah es aus. Dort konnten wir gemütlich das Apéro einnehmen und geduldig wurde uns die Speisekarte erklärt. Dann gings in den Speisesaal. War gut besucht und gediegen eingerichtet. Solch einen frischen Fisch hatte ich schon lange nicht mehr gegessen. Sehr fein! Und erst das Dessert. Ein Traum! Zum Abschluss legte sich noch die Sonne schlafen (schöner Ausblick vom Tisch aus) und wir wanderten wieder wohlig und zufrieden zurück.

We hoped to treat our hosts to dinner and chose the Lynfield as they recommended it. What a disappointment! The staff were either abrupt or inexperienced. We were served a drink in the bar and then rushed through to the dining room before we had time to finish.Those who chose the three fish item found it dry and overcooked and the veg. served with it-red cabbage and carrots very odd. There was a dish with 4 small potatoes but the waitress did not know whowas meant to get them! Oh dear..

Really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I stayed in the room called Jarls, this is one of the best hotel rooms i’ve ever stayed in. The restaurant food was excellent both nights. The only negative I have was that the first morning I waited a while for my breakfast but the second morning i only waited 10 minutes and it was excellent. All in all a really nice hotel with very friendly staff.

We had a lovely family meal for Father’s Day. There was a great range of food cooked to perfection. The bread and bere bunno before our meal were outstanding. The service was very good. It has a lovely atmosphere- the lounge that you are seated in while looking at the menu and then for having tea after your meal is comfortable with a beautiful selection of furniture. I would thoroughly recommend a meal here.

Beautiful food-I would especially recommend the seafood platter.Good service and wonderful atmosphere and surroundings. I enjoyed the music too-Johnny Cash medley on the accordion was a favourite! Highly recommended.

Was here for a family reunion and it was fantastic from the beginning to the end. We had a drink in the very elegant lounge area while waiting for our table and they served us a lovely little soup in a glass. In the dining room, they played traditional music and the view was great. The food was very good and my seafood platter starter was a dream. The cheese platter for dessert is also very good. A very nice place indeed, with good service as well!

top quality food with top quality beverage. the service is slightyly below the level expected but it is forgiveable.

We had an excellent dinner in this oldy-worldy place full of nice features. We were first directed to a cosy lounge area for a pre-dinner drink, passing the reception with an impressive collection of Scottish whiskies in display. Dinner was delicious and steak cooked to perfection. There was live piano music played in the background adding to the relaxing athmospere. They know about good wine in this place too. Would warmly recommend this restaurant.

We heard about the unique North Ronaldsay sheep and Lynnfield was the only place we coud find that had it on the menu. We were so pleadantly surprised with the old world ambiance , excellent attentive service and really delicious food. I left my scarf there and we received a call and the hotel kept it for us. We took a taxi there but walked back to our downtown hotel . I am amazed that the Lynnffied resyaurant does not come up as one of the best on TripAdvisor

A short walk from the centre of Kirkwall leads you to the Lynnfield Hotel set next door to Highland Park Distillery. An extensive menu with local produce awaits however they offered an Easter Sunday Afternoon tea which was fantastic value for £14 per head. Served with best china, they included smoked salmon sandwiches and home bakes which were amazing. The lounge is amazing with no two chairs the same with a rustic atmosphere with an open fire. Definitely worth a visit if in Orkney!

Five night stay in this comfy unique and interesting hotel, full of fascinating pictures books and furniture. Our room Odinstone was very pleasant not ultra luxurious but more than adequate, comfortable bed and sofa, the room was clean and housekeeping were very efficient.. The bath room was well equipped with shower and bath, lovely toiletries supplied.

Having a special occasion to celebrate we couldn't have chosen a better venue with the superb lounge and a roaring log fire, quite apart from the candle lit evening meal. Having checked the menus in advance, we had made special requests and these were honoured. The food was well cooked and well presented.

Family lunch on Saturday, we had the haddock, monk fish, burger and the young men had obligatory sticky toffee pud for dessert afterwards. Meals were lovely and as always very friendly and excellent service from Paulina,

We were staying at the hotel and our stay included breakfast every day. The breakfast was very good. A large buffet and a large menu to chose from. Well prepared and efficiently delivered. We also ate dinner here. They make it sort of a production. Its fun but takes a long time. They have a huge lounge to wait in for dinner. They have a huge selection of whiskies, over 360 varieties I think, and have a thick book listing them all with a short description. I elected to have some of the local whisky, Highland Park Distillery is next door and can be seen from the hotel. Then you go into dinner and order from the menu. The food was excellent, and as always in Scotland, was presented very quickly. But there is no hurry to leave. I liked the place and would eat their again.

We dined here with friends last night (27.10.18). The meal was outstanding and the attention to detail impeccable. Every course tasted scrumptious. I would highly recommend this restaurant and “The Lux nights”. Thank you for a memorable night can’t wait to come back .Please see my photos attached.

Spent 7 days at the hotel eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very nice food and choices, exquisitely prepared and served.

This place was the best steak I have ever eaten! Presentation was fantastic! Service was excellent! We will definitely be back there again and let friends from Canada to make this restaurant a must!

We had two very well cooked dinners at the hotel. The menu was interesting with North Ronaldsay lamb a real treat. I would thoroughly recommend the food and very courteous staff.

Located jut next to the Highland Park distillery, but only its sign is visible from the road, so you need to drive or walk up to the hotel. We walked the three minutes after our Distillery tour, and had a very nice light lunch at the restaurant. We had the salmon and cream cheese sandwich, which came with a side salad and crisps, and the fresh seafood platter (billed as a starter, but was more than enough for an excellent light lunch, as it consisted of smoked salmon, crab, mussels, a fresh oyster, prawns and fresh bread.) The real treat, tho, came with dessert, and we split the Orkney Fudge and whisky cream Tiramisu, which was outstanding. In hindsight, we should have ordered one each.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days as part of a tour group, and ate dinner there each night. An excellent choice! There was a nice range of options and lots of delicious desserts. I especially enjoyed the slow-cooked mutton. And of course sticky toffee pudding! Portions were generous but not overwhelming, and the service was attentive.

Great local produce served up here. Excellent drinks range available. Unfortunately, our table was pushed back because they had taken on too many covers. Fortunately, Kayleigh our waitress provided excellent service which more than made up for that shortcoming.

Lovely old hotel restaurant. A large, comfortable lounge for a pre dinner drink and time to choose your meal while relaxing. There is a good and varied menu, the food was delicious and there was no rush to leave the table. A very enjoyable evening.

Charged my card twice, my sister's once, said the machine wasn't working, so we paid cash, only to get home and see they ran the cards. Now we are filing for fraud. On top of that, service was slow, food was so-so.

We ate there, they ran 2 different credit cards and then said the machine didn't work and we paid in cash. Unfortunately, the charges went through and now we are sorting out a mess. They even charged my card twice!

We've eaten at the Lynnfield years ago and were surprised at how the quality of the service and food had deteriorated and also shocked at the now very evident overpricing.

The food and service were excellent but we had the bad luck of having a huge bus group seated at 8-10 tables near us. We were unable to have a conversation due to the noise. We asked to have the doors between the rooms closed in order to have some peace and quiet but were told that this would inconvenience the service staff. I guess that indicated their priorities in terms of service.

Horrible experience. Just got scammed. The pay at table thing is weird for Americans. Supposedly to prevent fraud. But they scammed me anyways. In addition food was mediocre. I spent $330+ USD and my prawns were DIRTY. BLAVK on the inside. Will recommend people to AVOID

We have eaten at the Lynnfield in years past and found the food to be excellent but not on this occasion. Found the mutton to be fairly dry and under seasoned with a strange presentation sitting in a puddle of clear juice (maybe in the hope of making it less dry?) Wife has a rib eye steak which was served with a few hand cut chips and a pile of uninspired onions which were apparently meant to be caramelised (wife says different). At £24 and £25 pounds respectively I did not think this represents good value at all. A restaurant of this repute should be serving a fillet steak for this price and not a cheap fatty cut that rib eye often is and was on this occasion. Will not be rushing back until the Lynnfield has upped their game.

The food here was extremely delicious. The service was outstanding. The view is beautiful but those seats were reserved for hotel guests or large parties. We were back further without a window which wasn't want we wanted but was available.

I was told they have over 400 malts available. The index shows all sorts up to £90 a dram. You do need to book a table.

Nach dem morgentlichen Whisky-Tasting in der Highland Destillerie wollten wir feste Nahrung zu uns nehmen. Obwohl das Restaurant eigentlich erst am Abend Gäste empfängt wurden wir freundlich empfangen und auch das Essen war ausgezeichnet!

Seven us went to the Lynnfield Hotel for a very special dinner; and we were all thrilled with the quality of our dining experience. The lounge provides a splendid relaxing atmosphere for both a pre-dinner drink and a post-dinner and coffee with 'peedie' fours. I would hazard a guess that the selection of Malts will be hard to best anywhere else in Scotland. Tonight certainly exceeded expectations in every way. Highly recommended!

This is a lovely place to sit and have a drink. Rex the dog is a plus! You will need to book for a meal. We didn't and there was not even bar snacks available.

Meine Favoriten: Seafood, North Ronaldsay Mutton, Westray Cheese Soufflé und der berühmte Cheesecake. Sympatischer Service. Das Restaurant ist sehr gut besucht, daher unbedingt reservieren. Fazit: Das Restaurant Lynnfield Hotel ist sehr zu empfehlen.

We were a bit confused at first because we had been told that we had the last 6 p.m. reservation, but when we were ushered into the dining room it was nearly empty. We both ordered a steak and requested medium rare. It came pretty well done, but the reason was probably that it was such a thin cut it would have been impossible to make it medium rare. For the quality of our dinner we paid what felt like a very high price for a thin steak. Strange dinner music played overhead...at least strange for Canadians in Scotland. "The Yellow Rose of Texas". Where were we?? The second night we ate elsewhere.

The Lynnfield was recommended when we asked our hotel about seafood. They do have an excellent seafood platter available as both a first course or main. They were also very considerate about the fact that I can’t eat pepper and made accommodations quickly. However, one young lady was rude enough to remark that my husband offered the ”wrong “ glass for the wine we were drinking and when I complained to the house manager he just defended her, adding to the insult. I can’t stand a young waiter or waitress who thinks they know it all!

Thank you Mary, Janet & David for a very comfortable stay in such a wonderful & interesting house! We loved the seaviews, the beautiful garden, the wonderful rooms and the welcome....including Bilko's fabulous, though brief, singing! We also appreciated your managing to get a reservation for us at a great restaurant we wouldn;t otherwise have been able to get a table at!

Nach dem obligatorischen Besuch der Highland Park-Destillerie bietet sich ein Besuch um daneben liegenden Lynnfield an, aber ACHTUNG: ohne Reservierung (am besten einen Tag vorher) hat man keine Chance einen Tisch zu bekommen!! Das Ambiente des Restaurants ist sehr exklusiv; die Tische sind eingedeckt - mit Tischdecken- der erste Eindruck erinnert an ein Sternerestaurant. Das Aussehen der Servicekräfte allerdings eher an ein drittklassiges bayerisches Wirtshaus. Vor dem Restaurant gibt es eiben sehr gemütlichen Barbereich mit alten Sesseln und unendlich vielen Whiskys, der zu einem längeren Verweilen geradezu einläd.

The service here was very good. Upon our arrival, we were ushered into an ante room for drinks. We loved the old world feel of the place - antiques and atmosphere to go along with that feeling. The menu was pretty decent with enough options that gave the menu some variation. Wine menu wasn't extensive, but had choices from different parts of the world to make it interesting enough. We also looked through the food menu here and placed our order. After a bit we went into the main room to eat. We liked the food a lot and the general atmosphere was very pleasant. The staff was quite attentive, but the restaurant wasn't full, so don't know what it would be like on a busy night. I suspect it would be the same. I believe it to be a nice place for a dinner out that's a little bit more special than the usual place. If you don't like old world, then don't go here or you might think it a bit stuffy and old fashioned. The food befitted the atmosphere of the place too.

The restaurant is a little slice of heaven. Great service, great food, great whisky and the sticky toffee pudding is out of this world.... save room!!

My wife and I went here for the dinner, because it was close to our guest house.

Someone recommended this hotel for a nice meal and what a disappointment it was. We were left waiting for 30 mins before I eventually asked for a menu, not much choice.
