Lovely Chinese restaurant once you get up the stairs as they’re very steep,(went with my parents in their mid 80s)but once up everything is absolutely perfect, Friendly staff, relaxed zen atmosphere,the restaurant was beautifully decorated and spotless, and the food was delicious.

“Delicious, Loved it, the best meal I’ve had, amazing “ were some of the words my dad said during the meal. Doesn’t say a lot for my cooking!! But I’d have to agree the service, food and attention to detail is spot on. We’ll be back.

Just a great Chinese restaurant with very friendly staff. All the food we had was good and was very good value for money.

Excellent meal and service. Very enjoyable visit unfortunately spoilt a little by a group of drunken ladies who thought everything was laughable.

Perfect service, the food was wonderful, and the restaurant itself was inviting. Visited here for dinner on a Tuesday evening in February. We had the 2nd set menu which was plenty of food for two, and some left over. We had a large bottle of sparkling mineral water, and coffee (which was also excellent) and it came to something like just over £30 pp. I’ll definitely go back to try the dumplings next time. Note the restaurant is upstairs, above Tesco. The door is just to the right of Tesco. Well worth a visit.

We were very happy with our meal here. Food was nice enough, service was good and the bill was reasonable. It's not the best meal that we have ever had but still worthy of 5 stars and can recommend.

Booked into here last evening after reading reviews and have to say, everything was excellent, service was very good, but the food was really really excellent, not had better. Would recommend.

Lou Shang never fails to disappoint. Had a lovely and delicious meal as per usual. Great atmosphere and lovely team of people working there. Always made to feel welcome.

Couldn't get through on the phone to book, so walked over to enquire. No table available until 9pm but Mrs Lou Shang was so lovely and apologised for the wait. They knew mum had dementia and talked to her which was lovely. Been before and will do again.

The food is absolutely beautiful. The Salted and Spices Wings were lovely. Service and willingness to accommodate was fabulous. I totally enjoyed our visit and will certainly come back again.

Just had an amazing 👏 banquet feast for 2..awesome..food delish 😋..we'll presented..staff lovely 😍..portions big..great quality produce..deffo best Chinese in the flyde..you just gotta give it a whirl..only downside..if you have difficulty with stairs..its not for you as its on the first floor and stairs are quite steep..if you enjoy Chinese this is the place to go..thankyou..try the homemade apple crumble..had it tonight even though we were stuffed..wow..enogh said..10/10..thanku

We go here at least 4 times a year. With the bowling club. Of about 30 members. The menu is amazing. The food is outstanding. The restaurant is stylish. Beautiful decor. Lovely clean toilets. 👌 . The staff are very welcoming, professional. Hard working. Go all out to make your visit special. Thank you. . I 100% recommend 👌

We accidentally walked past the entrance at first and had to double back. The door is right next to the entrance to the Tesco. We ordered veggie noodles in satay sauce, chicken chow mein with crispy noodles and salted spicy chips. The chips were absolutely the best thing I had all holiday! Not too spicy. Interesting flavours. Well cooked chicken. Plenty of vegetables! We were seated upstairs near the window and so got a great view of the high street. Everyone that waited on us was very polite and they asked more than once how our meal was. The staff were very friendly! We were so stuffed at the end that we couldn’t manage a dessert, although the desserts sounded fantastic. At the end of the meal we each got a fortune cookie with a little message inside. Very reasonable price! They have a cool little water feature at the top of the stairs that spits out dry ice smoke. There’s a sign on it that says “do not touch” so obviously everyone that goes past it wants to reach out and play with it. I resisted.

Tasty Chinese food especially the vegetables in satay sauce, the fried noodles and spiced chips. The restaurant was lovely and the staff very friendly.

Me and my family have been coming to Lou Chang for many many years. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants around and worth a visit!

Really fresh, flavoursome food and looked after us really well

Absolutely brilliant, fabulous food, fabulous service, booked another meal on leaving. Best Chinese meal we have ever had.

All of the food the 3 of us ordered was full of flavour and texture, and hot in temperature. One of my dislikes is luke warm food! The staff were polite and attentive, but not in your face. I saw one of them close a blind because they observed the sun was in a diners eyes. There is a fairly long staircase up to the restaurant, (no lift), but my 87 Yr old mother in law managed it. No doubt spurred on by the delicious aroma!

Fantastic, cannot rate this restaurant enough. Throughly enjoyed the food, service was excellent. Great value and the hot and sour soup is the best I've ever eaten.

Me and my son went for our first of many meals (I’m sure) here tonight after reading the reviews, and the reviews say exactly how it is. What a lovely clean and delicious restaurant it was…my son said it was the best Chinese food he has ever had and he’s usually a fussy eater and I most certainly enjoyed it myself. Looking forward to next time :)

Absolutely first class, from being greeted and shown to our table to ordering and most importantly receiving the food ordered, I cannot fault this place at all. So very friendly so polite the range of dishes were fantastic the food was out of this world its a case of Gordon Ramsey, move over. Michelin star absolutely and if we lived nearer to this restaurant we would frequent this establish on a weekly basis. Can't recommend this restaurant enough...

Took a party of 36 in from ashton gardens bowling club. What a fantastic evening. Lovely surroundings. Great food. Lovely happy , helpful staff. They couldnt do enough to help. Great tasting Chinese food, popular with locals as the staff were calling customers by their names so obviously a good sign that they keep comming back. We had chicken and sweetcorn soup and sweet and sour chicken with rice. Very nice.

Had the banquet for two food was delicious and plenty of it staff were very friendly only I have to complain about is you have to climb some very steep stairs adding a stair lifts would help for more people to gain access

Restaurant is set in St.Annes square with entrance located directly next to Tesco. To access restaurant, you have to climb a large flight of stairs'.We hadn't made a reservation but were warmly welcomed by extremely polite staff and shown to a nice table.I was extremely pleased to see various covid measures in place such as all staff with masks, spraying of hands upon entry etc. Restaurant was traditional and very clean.Drinks are a little pricey but we were having a treat so its worth it.Wifey had bbq ribs as starter and I had Chicken sweetcorn soup. Both were beautiful.Mains of chicken curry and sizzling beef were again beautiful, hot and large portions.I am definitely going back.

Returning visit, with friends. Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, excellent service.The waitress really put herself out for us, she was very professional, friendly, helpful and very thorough with her advice. All the staff were lovely. I am gluten and dairy intolerant. My choices were not straight forward, I asked for bits and pieces from different meals and sauces on the menu and I got exactly what I asked for, nothing was too much trouble and it was all delicious, as usual. Our friends enjoyed their meals also.It was lovely to see the place very busy with couples, families and friends.It's a place we return to as often as we can.

This is what i would call a traditional Chinese restaurant and that is meant as a compliment. It does good, straightforward food. Portions are generous and staff pleasant and efficient. Really enjoyable evening. Recommended.

Great Chinese restaurant, stunning food and excellent service. All staff members were wearing masks and your hands were sanitised when you entered. Very Covid secure.

Although it was a very busy period we were lucky enough to get a table here and had a really great meal. Thorough cleaning was evident while we were there which was good to see.

We visited here on the first night of our friends holiday and we chose this as we knew they would enjoy it.We all chose the banquet as this makes ordering easy and we know this is an impressive selection of dishes.We had wine and water with the meal.The horsdoevres plate is one of our favourite courses and didn't disappoint. The crab soup had plenty of crab in it and was really tasty. The duck and pancake course was equally good, always look forward to that. Almost too full for the other courses but good to try! Sizzling dishes and delicious fried rice were fabulous. Thus is a lovely way to meet friends as the conversation is punctuated with a continual supply of new dishes!This is a favourite of ours and have brought all our family and friends here over the years, and will be back again soon!

Had this for first time tonight, had large chicken curry and egg fried rice the curry sauce was so watery and chicken was so dry terrible worst chinese Ive had in a lon time, not a touch on blessing house

This place is a diamond, it stands head and shoulders above other Chinese restaurants we have eaten in. Staff are very attentive and courtesy, The food is top drawer, Try the sizzling king prawns with ginger and spring onion 👍.

We highly recommend Lou Shang, even in these less than normal times. The staff are friendly & the food excellent. Highly recommend the mix starter & the sizzling fillet steak - both are firm favourites of ours. Oh & the soft noodles are heavenly - worth a visit on their own. Ignore the obnoxious individual who is unable to comply with Covid requirements & visit this restaurant yourself. If you like Chinese food I’m sure you will be impressed. See you soon!

BEST RESTERAUNT IN ST ANNES been going years never had a bad dish yet, always cooked to perfection, highly recommend the fillet steak in Cantonese sauce and the duck. everything always fresh tender and tasty. also taking great care with PPE A++++++++ to the person who left bad feedback about being refused for not wearing a mask that's your fault as a customer I'm glad they did refuse you as if i was eating there and seen you come in with no mask it would of put me off so.. think of others when you go out next time.. great place to eat friendly staff and the owner is amazing to great personality.
