Lotties coffee & wine bar in Doncaster

I called in hungry, was served a full plate. By friendly staff, that I'm now asked to rate. And coffee so particular, I gave a list; and no I wasn't, so desist. No trouble, said staff, to my request. And the coffee, the best. My hunger slated the coffee so smooth, and the rating; I fully approve. Thank you.

As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a warm smile and shown to a lovely little table. It was perfect for our puppy who was good as gold in this tucked away space. We were only having morning coffee and cake outing but were not disappointed at all. Our lovely waitress recommended the lemon scones which were fresh out of the oven so we opted for one of those to share. The scone was absolutely delicious and came with lemon curd and clotted cream. The mocha was also lovely and frothy.Our dog was treated to a complimentary piece of chicken. Another member of staff checked we were enjoying our food and was delighted that we were enjoying the scone as she had baked it We would throughly recommend this eatery and will return when we are ever back in this area.

Really don’t rate this cafe/bar at all. Very expensive for mediocre food and small portions at that. Went there with friends for lunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was 2.30 pm but very little food on offer. Opted for a cheesy bacon ‘quiche’ which I didn’t see beforeI ordered it. When it came it was a sort of square of filo type pastry with virtually no filling. A sort of dry cheese sauce and fragments of bacon. A bit of a very mediocre salad with it not even a few crisps. Not a quiche in any sense of the word. Had a glass of white wine which was cold but not cold enough. My friend ordered a lager which was flat. Chocolate cake was ok but my friend had Victoria sponge which was dry and we had to bale her out by sharing our cream which came in tiny little jugs. Won’t be going back really not value for money and food not good. On a positive friendly staff.

After having a lovely slice of quiche we were tempted to have the Apple, pear and strawberry crumble cake. What a mistake. It came out black on the top, side and bottom. My friend and I cut away the burnt bits and yes it was charred but unfortunately the inside was very dry too. On paying I was asked if everything was ok and when I said the cake was very dry and overcooked I was told that it was freshly baked that morning and that is how it comes out because it rises and goes that colour. Sorry it tasted burnt, it was burnt and should have been taken out of the oven golden brown not burnt black!

I went here for the first time this morning (I am a regular visitor to Tickhill) and really enjoyed the homemade cake (virtually straight out of the oven) and the coffee that I had. I can thoroughly recommend this place and intend to go back to it!

A small OK coffee shop providing a good standard of service but only average coffee and cakes in my view. Pity really as it is a quirky and pleasant setting.

What a find this was. Superb, friendly staff, lovely coffee. Shame we couldn't stay for the live jazz.

I did not find them very friendly when entering i found that there was a lady with blonde hair serving me who came across quite rude and quite snotty which made no sense. There wasn't anything special about the cheese on toast it had no side salad and was quite bland. I felt uncomfortable as a solo person entering the cafe

Was looking for a breakfast whilst staying at a nearby Travelodge and found this...boy so glad we did as it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Lisa even opened slightly early for us to ease our timetable constraints. It's a great little place quirky decor and comfy friendly atmosphere and the owner is a true diamond she starts around 5/6 am and bakes all the cakes/pastries daily. The full English I had was as good as any much higher priced. My lasses smashed avo and eggs equally so. Great coffee too. If I am ever around here again it's a definite re visit and it should be yours too.

I called today with my grandson in his pram. It was getting near his feeding time and I was ready for lunch. The plan was to feed him, get him settled and then order my lunch. I arrived at lotties about 12.30 but was told there was no where inside the cafe for the pushchair but I could sit outside. As I needed to feed the baby I asked whether I could just sit outside until a table ( that could accommodate the pram) became available. I was told no as there was already a push chair inside and they had only just been seated. I totally understand that the cafe is tiny and not large enough to accommodate more than one pushchair however, what was the problem with me just sitting outside until a suitable table became available? I was then told that I could sit outside and feed the baby (0 degrees). There was no one except me sitting outside so I wasn't taking a table that was needed if I just waited. I decided as it was too cold to take the baby out of the pram to feed, left him in. Then a server came out and asked me whether I would like a drink. I said thank you but I will wait until I have fed the baby. It transpired that the baby didn't actually want his feed and I never even got him out of his pram. What happened next absolutely shook me! A lady ( who I was later told was the owner) called across the courtyard to me, "In future if you want to feed the baby you will have to buy a drink!" I was furious. Luckily there were no other customers in the courtyard to witness my total embarrassment. Just to be crystal clear, firstly, I was quite happy to buy a drink and food had a suitable table been available, secondly, I was quite happy to sit outside and wait for a suitable table and thirdly I did not feed the baby, I never even got him out of the pram. Needless to say after having being totally humiliated I won't be returning. I have used this cafe several times before whilst visiting my daughter but having spoken to several people seems like this attitude isn't a 'one off'. The residents of tickhill are so friendly it is pleasure to walk through the village it is very sad that this was sullied by someone who thought it was acceptable to try to belittle someone.

Called for a glass of wine with my daughter tonight. Absolutely lovely place with the friendliest owner. The courtyard was all decorated for Christmas and we felt like we were in a secret magical place. We sat outside in the courtyard with the heater on and chatted our working weeks worries away. Perfect Friday evening in a perfect venue. Definitely recommend it! We will definitely be back… often 🥰

I visited here a couple of weeks ago with a friend and found the place very friendly, clean and the blueberry scones absolutely delicious. The owner Lisa was so pleasant snd helpful and all the food looked wonderful. Try it out you won’t be disappointed

I felt compelled to leave a review after reading the previous quite personal negative one. I’ve been very impressed with the quality of the food and its quite clearly home baked as I saw the cakes ( which taste incredible) coming out of the oven and those after eight mint brownies are ingenious and Ivd never seen them anywhere before. Highly addictive!!! I can not recommend Lisa@lotties highly enough. Excellent ambience with some unique music pieces and incredible food , amazing coffee and great wines too Thankyou and please keep up the high standards and great work

Called in today for lunch as we were passing and had never been before. The place is well decorated and clean with our table sanitised in front of us, the staff are friendly and attentive. There was a good choice of all kinds of food and cakes at a reasonable price. The baked sweet potato and five bean chilli was very nice indeed. To say we live five minutes away but have never been is a travesty , well worth a visit and we will certainly be returning.

Met up with friends today and enjoyed time together in the courtyard - tasty food, attentive staff and plenty of choice. We will certainly return - lots more homemade goodies to try at a welcoming, hidden gem. Street parking close by.

Booked an afternoon tea as a treat for a friend's birthday. We both eat gluten free food and I asked for a gf afternoon tea. The young lady on the phone was very helpful and said it would be possible to cater for our needs. The cafe itself is very quaint and the table reserved for us was beautifully presented and so was the food. We had a lovely afternoon with lots of refills of tea and coffee. I'm sure this will be a regular destination.

We visited in the summer and really enjoyed sitting in the court yard with a bottle of wine . It was so relaxing and really pleasant. This week we visited inside and loved how quaint and cosy Lotties is. We enjoyed our coffee and sandwiches and the staff on both occasions were very welcoming.

The place to go for a coffee and cake treat. Very naughty cakes. Not been yet on one of their evenings but will try it one day. Lovely happy staff and although its small you still don't feel as if you're intruding in your neighbour.

Called in here after dinner on my 40th with 10 other people. As always Ryan was great, attentive, and great on the cocktails. This wine bar, has such a lovely feel about it, it’s not huge but has a huge atmosphere. This my go to wine bar in the village, and would recommend it to anyone. I’ve enjoyed several lunches here with friends, all of which have been fabulous. I decided to take my mum (87) for lunch when she last visited. We were not disappointed! As usual the service was great, menu choice fantastic - I had a wonderfully tasty goats cheese salad and my mum the smoked salmon on brioche. Couldn’t fault the quality of the produce, portion sizes (which I think are very generous) or speed of service. I love the fact Lottie’s is licensed and they have a great choice of wines to complement your meal. The ambience is lovely - it’s small but very cozy.. looking forward to visiting again very soon for brunch!

We have visited Lotties several times over the past 3 months mainly for lunch. The food has always been excellent and beautifully presented. Lotties have really upped their game in recent times in terms of food choices and it is now the best place for coffee and light bites in Tickhill.

Can't fault the place,and its so nice to see they have put their prices up! Please support this hidden gem and enjoy!

I visit Lotties regularly and I wanted to respond to the TripAdvisor comment earlier about small portion sizes.. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but for me I always feel that I get more than enough. The food is always freshly prepared, high quality and served with a smile. The atmosphere is amazing and the outside courtyard is great for these sunny days. You can see from the photographs some of the excellent food served. I will be visiting again this week.

My wife and myself called in at lunch time for a coffee. My wife who has a wheat intolerance fancied a bit to eat so she enquired if they had anything gluten free. The waiter explained to my wife what was available and she chose a fish finger sandwich. I order the same from the normal menu both priced at £6.95. when our plates were placed in front of us, mine consisted of two sandwiches with four fish fingers and a side salad, however my wife's only had one small sandwich with only two fish fingers! I mentioned this to the lady inside saying that my wife was gluten free and not on a diet! The lady then replied that she didn't want to over face my wife! I couldn't believe it! If you pay the same price for two meals you should have the same portion size, and not have the waitress determine how much she thinks you can eat! No amends was offered so paid our bill and left!

I visited Lotties for the first time recently for lunch on a weekday with an American visitor. We ordered the home made quiche which was very nice but the size of the portion was an extremely thin slice- or slither might better describe it - and the tiniest side salad I have ever seen- and that was our meal. It looked lost on the plate!For the price we had to pay we would have expected something a little more substantial. For a starter the portion might have been fine but as a main lunch it was a joke.'No question about us not being able to finish our meal' my companion quipped, which be did in just a few mouthfuls.We were so hungry we ordered some cake, which was nice but very pricey.With coffee we paid over £40.

My second time visiting here on a little stop for a refreshment, and I must say the staff are so lovely and really helpful and attentive :) and there coffee’s are amazing! I will definitely be making this my little place to come when in tickhill, Doncaster.

Very good cocktail menu.... lots to choose from. The wines are great with a wide selection on offer. Gin and tonics were flowing. We did nearly knock the shelving over behind the door upon entry...... sorry about that! You do need a door stop!

We had a scone which was homemade and very nice coffee. Friendly helpful staff. Would recommend a visit.

Stopped off for a coffee and lunch with a friend. The menu is quite small (food wise) but there was a nice selection and the food was good. Coffee was excellent, as was service. There was a great wine list so will be going back to try!

Flo and I often have coffee here and on our last visit we added cake yo our order. What a great decision. We shared two pieces of cake and both were delicious. One was strawberry and the other chocolate and banana. Very fresh and very tasty.

Right in the middle of Tickhill - good coffee, amazing scone & highly recommended.Top marks for the staff too - worth dropping by. Cream teas looked amazing (you have to pre order) - might have to try that next time we're up.

Took my partners daughter out for tea today. It was delicious. Looked great and tasted even better. Ample portions. We had to have "doggy bags"...as one of the teas' was for vegetarian., even that was well catered for....Service Superb. Staff excellent. Just have a very nice Flat White and a delicious scone my husband had a cappuccino and a slice of Lemon cake he said it was very good. First time we have been and will definitely be back maybe for a prosecco one evening.

Fabulous gin tasting event last weekend was well attended and a really good evening. The place is tiny and that only adds to the atmosphere. We're dying to try the afternoon tea there, too.

I have visited this coffee shop several times and have always had fabulous food and wonderful service. Today a friend and I had afternoon tea here, wow, what a treat! Really friendly (as always) staff, we had pre-booked, so the table was ready for us, and looked lovely. Plenty to eat and all beautifully presented. We even had comments from fellow diners asking what we were celebrating! Getting together with friends, that's a good enough excuse to pop in to this lovely place, really good atmosphere and lovely surroundings, it's a must.

Came to Lotties with my friend for afternoon tea to celebrate her 70th birthday. The staff were so welcoming and their attention to detail and presentation was outstanding. They were very obliging, food fresh and delicious, and my friend loved every minute of her experience. We even came home with a 'doggy bag' each. We were full to bursting! I loved it too, and will be returning with my husband for his birthday, and mine!!

Treated my mum for a Mothers Day afternoon tea yesterday and it was the nicest AT we have ever had. Staff are so welcoming and will do anything to assist you. The coffee shop in the day is delightful with lovely food and delicious cakes. The wine bar at night has a great selection of cocktails. My mum also says they do the best cappuccinos.

My Daughter booked afternoon tea for us both. It was freshly made and the choice was wonderful. On booking, Lotties were happy to meet dietary needs and make any personal changes to the choice of food. The service was wonderful and the ladies were very polite and friendly. It's a gem of a place, we will definitely visit again very soon.

Visited with my Mum for afternoon tea which we had pre booked. One of the best we have had. Was beautifully presented with 4 types of sandwiches, scones with jam & cream white chocolate mousse, cup cakes presented in a little cup & saucer with a delicious chocolate spoon, strawberry sponge covered in chocolate & 2 huge strawberries dipped in chocolate & to top it all coffee refills as we requested. Everything was fresh & lovely tasting. The staff were both extremely pleasant & friendly & we were made to feel welcome. As we were unable to eat everything they offered to pack the rest up for us to take home which they also did really nicely by packing separately in boxes & then put in a bag to carry which we thought was a lovely touch. Would suggest booking as only a small place but has a lovely courtyard which I would imagine would be really nice in the summer. Will definitely be visiting again.

Love this place and love the girls. Such a friendly atmosphere and super warm welcome. I visit here regularly on my lunch break and have had breakfast here also. (I was there again today) Lovely food and hot chocolate and even better service from wonderful ladies :)Also it's always warm and cosy which is great on these cold wet miserable days.Can't wait to try their weekend cocktails and afternoon tea. I love my coffee but on a freezing cold day like today I wanted to try something special. Mocha fitted the bill perfectly with it's luxurious blend of delicious chocolate and coffee topped with a creative foam heart. Perfect!

We took my mum for afternoon tea for her birthday, she's an afternoon tea veteran now she is retired, and said that Lotties was one of the best she'd ever had! Lots of sandwiches with really fresh bread, and all of the cakes were absolutely delicious. The 3 of us couldn't eat everything so they kindly boxed up the leftovers for us. Lovely place, would definitely go back.

I like to visit Lottie's on a Saturday for my weekend fix of coffee. There is a wide selection of cakes and snacks for those wanting something more than coffee. There are also newspapers and magazines. There are five tables inside and about four in the small outside courtyard. Lottie's is licensed and transforms from a coffee bar to a wine bar in the evenings at weekends.

My husband and I called at Lotties for a light lunch. Although small .... 5 tables .... it is well laid out and smart. Service was prompt and the staff could not be more welcoming and friendly. The food choice is good, competitively priced, beautifully presented and has a homemade feel .. especially the excellent soup of the day. Definitely a place to visit more often.

Today we had a slice of coffee cake topped with white chocolate and pecan. Washed down with a cup of hot chocolate. What a delight plus lovely friendly staff. They even appear to tolerate my jokes lol.

I went to Lotties with a friend for a long overdue catch up. The afternoon tea was amazing with a great variety of sandwiches and sweet treats. Somehow we managed to munch our way through everything as we couldn't possibly leave anything - it was just too good! Special mention to the girls who looked after us so well and the teacup cupcake which was gorgeous. We will definitely be back!

we had a wonderful tea for 6 of us, I need a special diet and this was catered for very well. the staff was very attentive we had mulled wine and coffee's, everything made us want to go back.

We have just had the most delicious Christmas afternoon tea with outstanding service from the girls. There was loads of food including 4 types of sandwiches and lots of different cakes , Cherry scones with clotted cream , the girls always look after us when we visit and it's nice to be made so welcome and to feel special , we had ours with a cheeky prosecco to top it off , I would definitely recommend a visit, thanks ladies and we will see you in the new year , merry Christmas

Have visited a couple of times recently. once in an afternoon one Saturday for coffee and cake and a second time a week later one Friday night to sample the wines. All were of good quality and worth paying that little bit extra for. Would recommend and will return at least for a third time

Not been here before but will definitely go again. Everything was really lovely. Perfect sandwiches and lovely cakes. Really friendly ladies. Pretty little place. Although I live locally I have never visited Lotties coffee and wine bar and I now wonder why not. I went for lunch with a friend and was absolutely blown over. I decided to try the brioche and pate and it was superb. The place is small but cosy and has a good atmosphere. I will certainly go back again and can highly recommend Lotties.

Had the most amazing afternoon tea here yesterday with my friend. Sandwiches & cakes were amazing & so much better than afternoon teas I've had at other venues. Staff were great & portions were so big we needed a doggy bag! We're already planning when to come back!

Had been recommended Lotties by a friend, arranged to meet my sister for a catch-up. Arrived and we're greated by 2 friendly girls, nothing was too much trouble for them and the food was great. We will be returning one evening for a platter and bottle of prosecco!

Tastefully decorated with a small out side dining area in the courtyard. Coffee served very proffesionally with the designs on the top. Delicious cakes, try the coconut and passion fruit.
