Reserved a table on Saturday night was greeted by jasmine and taken to our lovely window table .we started with cava then onto tapas manchego with almonds then jamon iberico tomato salad croquettas garlic prawns patatas bravas ,lamb rump,then a glass of godello .blanco and a glass of el brindis .jasmine was superb as was the food and atmosphere. Yes the food is a bit pricey but it's very good and tasty will go for a special treat .thankyou los reyes great evening.

Great restaurant,we went on Mothers day,they were super busy,but still had a . Fantastic meal and the atmosphere was lovely,luve music was much appreciated

Lovely place, out for a birthday, we were given a private room upstairs which was great. Place was clean and lots of space. Sadly the food was extortionately priced for what you get. Not much on the vegetarian menu. I had garlic mushrooms on a small slice of bread, about the size of a woman's palm, think that cost between £9 -£12, and one guest suggested the potato croquettes, she later apologised, they were disgusting, the inside was like pureed baby food, i wasn't expecting that, they were then breadcrumbed, a portion of 5 was also £10-14 Not sure of exact prices but approx £20 for portion of mushrooms, small slice of bread and a few croquettes. 1 scoop of ice cream was £5. If you're hungry, don't go there, if you're vegan, vegetarian, don't go there, if you're on a budget, don't go there. However, if you have a teeny appetite and happy to order loads of stuff to share on the table, it could be nice to share the bits. If you like the privacy for your own group, go for it, if you care for good service, no complaints. They do add service charge which worked out over £30 I won't be going again, sadly none of the group will be. 👎

As others have said, this is ridiculously expensive. And the food is only average. Having been to real Spain (not the Costas) a number of times, it does grate with me that for average food ( and a limited menu) we have to pay so much. One of my tapas was a tomato salad with anchovies (+£2.50) the anchovies were very poor brown,( I suspect tinned) not fresh white anchovies. I certainly wouldn't go back . Unless someone else was paying.

Highly recommended restaurant. The food is amazing and so is the service. Jasmine and her team are welcoming and delivering a top service up to remembering what you have order 6th months ago. The food is exceptional with great quality ingredient and well cooked dish that you won't even find in Spain. Thank you Los Reyes, we will be back.

Last time we came we had an amazing experience. However, this time it was disappointing slightly. We got croquetas first and then we waited 50min for rest of the dishes to arrive. And the food was hit and miss. Lamb shoulder was great, jamon croquetas were great, King prawns baked in salt crust were interesting, cauliflower cheese as a special was nice but not amazing and it is not a spanish dish. The tortilla the patatas was dry and tasteless and that in a Spanish tapas bar is inexcusable. In fact never eaten a tortilla de patatas so bad in a restaurant. All in all, not sure we will rush back very soon.

Went here a week ago as a party of six. The tapas food was excellent, as was the service. They were very accomodating in respect of one of our party being a coeliac. It is a bit pricey but still deserves a 5 star rating.

Went there last weekend and the food was amazing. Everything was lovely and fresh and, I understand, locally sourced wherever possible. The service was excellent and everyone was super friendly. What a fabulous way to while away the afternoon!

Nice place for Turkish breakfast style. Warm welcoming staff. Food was succulent.

Have eaten here many times and it has always been consistently very good. Wild mushroom bruschetta and the pork flank steak are always 2 of our 5 or 6 tapas, absolutely lovely. Good wine selection too. Probably one of the more expensive restaurants in the area but more than worth it in my opinion.

Good food, this is my second visit, nice friendly staff.

Sadly, we were quite disappointed with the food. Despite the fact that the menu didn't specify, everything ordered was quite spicy, making it almost impossible to taste anything as all one can taste is the same burning sensation... the waitress didn't mention that dishes are quite spicy and perhaps not very suitable for a child, even though there was a 5 years old with us. The prices were quite high for what was served ( 2x chicken skewers, or 4 meatballs with nothing else on the plate for £14 each) . So for the three of us, the bill was over £75 and we left hungry. Unfortunately, cannot recommend and would not come back. back.

The outdoor seating and lovely service made for a great experience overall. The food was tasty but the pricing of some mains felt unjustified (e.g 3 prawns for £14.) I’d be back more often if the prices were more competitive for the area ☺️ The mushrooms and jamon de bolota were particularly delicious. They are excellent for gluten free food and when I asked, they don’t use alcohol in their starters or mains 👍

Best service and quality authentic Spanish food

Had a lovely evening here, food was good, service is fantastic! Only downside is that it's quite expensive, not really pricey, but not cheap either. Well worth a visit though, but book well in advance ☺️

Amazing service. Been here a few times and we are never disappointed. Huge shout out in particular to Ash, who was the best waitress we could have wished for when we celebrated a friend’s hen do in one of the private rooms - she went the extra mile for us and made the night even more memorable. Love the house sangria and the lovely new courtyard is yet another reason to visit!

Excellent menu and quality food. Great service, friendly and efficient. Lots of nooks and crannies. It's a must and now with a new revamped outdoor space.

The food was very tasty, but I am still raging a week later about how we paid £14 for three prawns! We got six dishes and a jug of sangria, for £110. The food was delicious, but not worth the price.

This is a great restaurant - attentive service, good atmosphere and everything necessary like that. But the food was outstanding - come for the food. Every dish was executed with care - looked great and tasted wonderful Except the bellota - don’t order it. It was machine carved off one of those ghastly square formed pieces of ham. In a place of this standard, they should do it properly. Yes it had a little of that distinctive bellota flavour but I wouldn’t have paid £12 if I’d known. I haven’t reduced my rating because of the ham. Now I know I just wouldn’t order it again. Otherwise, it was a fabulous evening in every respect

Recommended by a friend, and she was absolutely right! Attentive, very natural service and each dish was of great quality. I only took one pic as we were enjoying it so much. We probably slightly over over ordered but took some away. Highly recommend ordering the chorizo pate which was definitely the highlight from an all-star selection of tapas.

Best tapas I have had outside of Spain. Like to think of myself as a bit of a connoisseur having spent many months in Spain, but this place genuinely blows me away every time. Could not recommend more highly and as an added bonus the staff are lovely too.

Average food, London prices! Been here a few times but recently noticed the prices have shot up massively. £18 for a small tapas dish! You could go to London and get a cheaper/nicer meal including your travel cost. Won’t be going back unfortunately.

Welcome back Guys. Just enjoyed 5th birthday set menu and it was excellent. The wine pairings added to the experience. A great way to celebrate going back out after lock down. Been a while but back to celebrate hubby's birthday Nd very pleased to say still the same amazing food and excellent service. Everyone should definitely give this place a try and on a Weds they now do a set menu for 19 pp which includes a glass of wine.

Food is delicious but I’m afraid as per other reviewers this place is too expensive. £18 for a small tapas dish is too much. The tomato salad coming in at £10 is just a small plate of chopped dressed tomatoes. Should be more like £6. As per other reviewers I’d also recommend Bar Azita for tapas.

The staff was helpful and friendly. Food was good for gf and vegetarian options.

Always a friendly reception and decent food. Menu is updated fairly frequently. Nice atmosphere. Fairly pricey, but you get what you pay for. (Update Feb 2023 - I've dropped my rating from 5->4 stars as I think their latest round of price hikes mean they're now veering into 'ridiculously expensive' territory). Staff still friendly and food still tasty, though.

The service could have been quicker, but the food is definitely worth the wait.

I understand it's tapas but portion sizes are ridiculous for the prices. Not many healthy/vegetable options so I ordered the tomato salad to go with my lentil stuffed peppers (which were lovely but could have done with more for the price), unfortunately myself and my friend couldn't eat it as there was far too much vinaigrette. We asked to exchange it for potatoes and the waiter was amazing and did this for us without hesitation (she also let us know soon after that the chef agreed there was too much dressing on the salad so we were glad it wasn't just us being fussy). My friend ordered 8 prawns for £18 which she said tasted nice but sadly wasn't worth the amount she paid as most of it was shell. Service was great.. staff were very attentive, welcoming, approachable and had great knowledge of the menu. I'm happy to pay fine dining prices for food but felt the prices here were crazy considering the sizes of portions. I've never experienced such high prices for a tapas menu tapas and no option for a full meal before and for this reason I wouldn't return in the future. If you're looking for Tapas in Hitchin, I'd recommend Bar Azita.

My 75th birthday celebration surprise. Had a lovely family evening. Although the restaurant was busy, the chef prepared my favourite dish that wasn't on the menu. Thank you to Rosie for great service too. X

The manager kindly found us a table despite a packed house - definitely need to book in advance as it's hugely popular and rightly so! Service is excellent, Ash, our server was very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. The food is delicious, good portions for sharing without being overly large or overpriced so you can sample lots of dishes. Great drinks menu with potent red, white or rose sangria options and yummy cocktails!

Probably the best place we've ever dined in in hitchin!! Only drawback is that it's expensive 🫰 Keep up the good work.l!!

The food was nice but we hadn't been informed that certain dishes came out at the end. One of us ordered roasted almonds, potato and cheese fondue and meatballs. The almonds only came after everyone else had their first two courses and the other two dishes came out with everyone else's third dishes

Used to be the best tapas in north herts and although still quite good, it's declined a little recently based on tonights meal. The staff are friendly but the service was slow. The food was expensive but the quality good. Mushrooms were great as were the potatoes but the meatballs were disappointing.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and will definitely be going back. From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel very welcome. The staff are so friendly and went through the menu and specials. We sat outside and the ambience was so relaxing. The food we ordered was fresh, so tasty and absolutely amazing. We celebrated our 16th anniversary and they gave me a dessert on the house. Can't wait to return.

Never fails to impress! Amazing food! We usually get 5/6 dishes between 2 people.

I’ve been messaging them for booking but I only got one time reply. Answer them back with their question but after that didn’t hear from them at all. Chasing with a call but seems they are avoiding. I just wish if they could answer me that they can’t accommodate as I’m waiting for their reply for a long time. It’s a shame because I like this place and we always come here with my husband but communication is bad!!

The service was spot on, attentive and friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant enough but the tables are too close, so no privacy. The food was hit and miss, either over seasoned or under seasoned, my mushrooms were so salty, I struggled to eat them, my crab was flavourless, and needed salt. We ordered the meatballs and unfortunately one was raw inside, (others were all ok and tasty) the waitress tried to tell me that is was the chorizo that had dyed the meat. If this was the reason why were the others ok and not even a hint of redness poor excuse for poor cooking. Prawns, pork and squid were fine but not worth the price. So over all, don’t think I will go back, too over priced for the food and to be honest the raw meatball has put me off tapas for a while.

I have been patiently waiting for the previous review to pop up. I was eating at Los Reyas on Saturday and had the most exquisite meal with incredible service. I however had to listen to the most vial customers talking to the amazing staff in the most disrespectful and disgusting way. I would urge anyone looking at these reviews to maybe give the one before mine a skip. I am so happy you will never be going back. You do not deserve to eat at such a wonderful establishment. You should learn some manners! Anyway here are some pics of the stunning food!

It was nice but not worth a returning visit. We went on Saturday night. Chairs are too high for table so uncomfortable seating. Food is okay (mushrooms on sourdough and prawns in garlic were wonderful) but the rest was nothing impressive. The croquettes were awful and like mush. I understand it’s tapas and food comes in random orders but there were some significant waiting times in between dishes which we found frustrating as it felt like 6 course meal rather than tapas where you can enjoys bits and bobs from each dish at one time. Unfortunately, we won’t be going back. We will be heading back to our original tapas place up the road!

Absolutely fantastic tapas restaurant. High quality food and drink in a warm and friendly setting. Lovely atmosphere in the dining room. It's not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for and its worth every penny. It's our "go to" restaurant every time. Highly recommended.

Food was excellent quality but was pretty pricey. Would prefer to get all the plates together or at least a not as much of a gap between them.

Came here for a bite to eat with a friend on a weeknight. I must say, this is some of the best Tapas I've EVER had; and I'm someone who's been to Spain many times. We were left waiting 15 minutes for our booked table, however we were offered some draught beers on the house. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu, as well as the daily specials. The food was fantastic and will definitely be high on my list for food when I return to Hitchin.

Food was excellent, very flavorful. Service was horrendous. Couldn't hear a word our softly spoken waitress said. Waited an hour for 1 prawn and the rest followed in dribs and drabs. Food was far too slow and restaurant failed to accommodate the fairly long wait times. Not recommended if you're a family

Absolutely love the whole experience. Our waitress was very well informed on the dishes and gave very good recommendations for food and the wine list. Felt like we were back in Barcelona! The food is amazing, I will be bringing friends and family here for sure!

Great food as usual but a little disappointed that we had to wait a considerable amount of time between the last 3 courses ordered. Considering we were literally the first people in the restaurant when they opened.

Wonderful evening here last night. The food was varied, plentiful and of a very high standard. Look forward to our next visit.

“We’re a restaurant not a bar” the first thing said to us within literally seconds of walking in, by the manager who was sat down having a drink. Not even a “hello how can I help you.” We had popped in to see if there was table available or if we could book a table for another day, however were swiftly rejected by this remark. Disgusting behaviour and even after going back to explain we were merely asking about a table, were told bluntly “people book weeks in advance”. We had been keen to find out about this restaurant, and whilst we appreciate it was a Saturday night, we would not expect a potential customer to be humiliated in this way.

Rude manager who made a quick judgement and said “we’re a restaurant not a bar” as we came in. We were well dressed and a simple “we have no space” would have sufficed. He was sat having a drink with other patrons and turning round to say this was humiliating and so unnecessary.

In Hitchin on a cold wintery night and looking for a warm welcome, we happened upon Los Reyes and found what we'd hoped for. The place was busy but they had space for our small party. Servers were pleasant, knowledgeable and responsive. The food was good and 3 Tapas portions each was more than enough quantity. The portions were bought out periodically so you had chance to nibble and graze as the night wore on, rather than have a table full of platters. It also meant we got to try each others plates rather than just the ones we ordered ourselves and made for a much more enjoyable event. Well done Los Reyes.

Lovely food but being small plates ramps the bill up. As for the price of alcohol well, I think £50 for two pitchers of Sangria is rather high.
