Longsands Restaurant in North Tyneside

Great place for fish and chips it is quality food and with good proper quality food comes long queues we often walk past and see it’s either busy inside or it’s little trickles of families in the street!

Managed to get organised and book Good Friday in the small restaurant (around 30 covers?) attached to the relentless take away. Our table was not quite ready on arrival. Service beyond that was good and the menu offered a few surprises compared to the take away menu, including GFs cod and king prawn curry as she started the 1st leg of her planned hatrick of curries. The dish was excellent with the largest prawns we’d ever eaten. The rest of us kept it traditional and a little less expensive with good old fashioned fish and chips. Licensed with a small drinks menu. It’s an outstanding fish and chip restaurant and take away.

We had a really nice dinner here. The fish tacos were amazing!! Staff friendly and there was a lovely vibe. Would recommend.

Reviewed this years ago but came back recently and I can still say it's the best takeaway cod and chips I've ever had. Great peas and curry sauce too.

Lovely food, good sized portions, friendly staff, well done. Good gluten free range of food as well. The second place we've been to in Tynemouth that doesn't allow dogs in the restaurant, so nice not to be surrounded by dogs.

We decided to have fish & chips while in Tynemouth so , where do you go . Longsands on main street , my wife has been telling everyone just how good the food is , so today decided to try it out . Nice atmosphere on going into restaurant, had to book.table for 1 hour . Service was quick professional friendly & very pleasant . Food was good , I had haddock & chips plus bottle of Pieroni . Liz had cod tea bread butter , all came to £40 . Considering the quality of food , service & cleanliness of restaurant we couldn't complain . All I can say anyone in Tynemouth area wanting quality sea food this is the place to go

Are times so hard they have to charge for tomato sauce!!! Absolutely disgraceful that after charging premium prices that they have to charge for tomato sauce.

The good reviews and award are well deserved by the staff and management at Longsands. My wife and I both ate the outstanding fresh cod and chips and agreed that it was the best lightly battered cod that we had ever tasted, also the fish was a generous size and thickness. I would recommend Longsands to anyone seeking excellent value and quality matched with service from welcoming staff.

The best fish & chips place in Newcastle area, hands down. Light and crisp batter, not at all thick or oily (the plague of many chippies). The restaurant itself is nice, elegant and relaxed. And reasonably priced! Furthermore, one of us has food allergies and the staff were very attentive and understanding. Fantastic place.

Let me be honest. We had been working all day at an exhibition and I DID NOT WANT FISH for evening meal. We walked around and I was getting serious grief for being indecisive. Frankly I was bullied to go in. However I picked roasted Hake. OMG.....It was the most delicious flavoursome fish fish I have ever eaten. My wife had the Malasian fish curry which was also excellent. What can I say....I would have travelled 4 hrs just to eat that meal. Superb.
