Another visit to this excellent tearoom which never disappoints. The food is always freshly prepared and delicious and they do a great pot of tea. On today’s visit they thoughtfully left a birthday card on my table big thank you Richard, Lisa and Tracey. Advice is book ahead as it’s popular

Warm, welcoming, friendly staff provided a great service and tasty food. It is a tasty but fairly limited menu. Well priced and nicely presented. I really enjoyed my hot chocolate and tuna melt toastie.

Absolutely wonderful. A lovely atmosphere in a warm, cosy, and comfortable space. The team are so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The food and coffee were excellent. As we left we had lovely chat with proprietor Richard and right-hand lady Tracy. We could not have had a nicer lunch. We are lucky enough to be local and will be visiting regularly from now on.

This tea room has recently changed management and the new owners have made the wise decision to, for now at least, keep things the same. Tea is good, cakes fresh and homemade. Highly recommended.

One of the friendliest and nicest cafes we have visited. The owners communicated well beforehand assuring me they could cater for someone with coeliac disease, even putting a slice of gluten free cake aside for me! They took great care to safely prepare my lunch - everything was delicious. Highly recommend!

A wonderful warm and friendly welcome. ( Dog friendly tea room!). I took my mum for a cream tea and they did not disappoint. Lovely home-baked scone and cream and jam. I had a slice of home made coffee cake and it was absolutely delicious in fact I told the gentleman that served me that the recipe is so similar to how I bake my coffee cake. The premises was very clean and would highly recommend for a treat.

What a fabulous tearoom! Everything was perfect, from the delicious cakes to the table settings. The owner immediately let himself be known and we had a pleasant chat. Highly recommend!

Walked through the door just on closing time (4pm), and I was greeted with a lovely warm welcome and smiles from the owner and waitresses who told me that it didn't matter, they could still accommodate me. Then when I put my order in for a cream tea, the owner noticed there were no scones left. But instead of saying, sorry we've run out - no more until tomorrow, he insisted on getting some more from the freezer and defrosting them. I'd say this was going the extra mile, considering they were really now closed. Needless to say I was served with the best cream tea in town, in China cups, real tea (no bags) and by lovely waitresses. No wonder the place was packed. And after me, another large family came in, who were also accommodated well past closing time. 10 out of 10 for a warm welcome and great food . I will return !

What a fantastic tea room, walked in to a lovely welcome, tea and hot chocolate, tea cake and coffee cake out off this world so big had to take home with me will defiantly be back when in the area again.

We ordered a large cheesecake for a family do but it was pretty last minute. Couldn’t have been more accommodating and not only that but it was quite possibly the best cheesecake we’ve ever had. Totally delicious. Totally customer service focussed and a wonderful vibe in tea room itself. Will be back for more ! Five stars!!

Came here today for a spot of lunch while staying local. Lovely location in the high street. Both wife and I had sausage roll with “trimmings” which included chutney, crisps and small salad. Sausage roll was homemade and warmed through. All very tasty. Green tea and filter coffee both fine. To finish wife had Victoria sponge and I had the salted caramel sponge. Both cakes were light and tasted amazing. 4 members of staff, most of whom were doing the washing up so service was a bit delayed and had to keep going to the counter to get anything extra like knife & forks and cakes. Need to invest in a dish washer or extra staff. Would come her again. Thank you.

Afternoon tea today to celebrate a retirement! As always Lisa and her team were attentive and helpful. Food was amazing and so much we all went home with doggy bags. Home made, fresh and lots of choice….perfect! The pics say it all, we had individual delicious chocolate mousse too but I forgot to take a pic! I can’t recommend his tea shop enough for afternoon tea or lunch, which we regularly go for. Nothing is too much trouble! I’ll be back next week, lunch not cake this time! Thanks everyone ❤️x

We arrived at the tea room at 3 pm for a very late lunch half way round a 16 mile walk. The two sisters who run this place are so friendly and kind. They make all the cakes and scones themselves. We enjoyed a much needed toasted sandwich and Suffolk Apple cake which was just delicious. It is so lovely not to use one of the coffee chains but support a small local business. Their welcome and food fuelled us well for the second half of our walk. Definitely worth visiting them.

Very friendly staff and great service. The cake portion was huge, all home made and you could certainly tell from the quality. You can keep your big coffee chains this place is well worth a visit.

Went to Long Melford Tearoom after being told by Tiffins up the road were closing for the day (at 3.15 pm). What a find. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food - we had tea and cakes which were fresh and delicious - huge portions. Gorgeous tea and lovely china crockery. Fantastic service. Spotlessly clean. You could not ask for more - highly recommend - we will definitely be back!!

We have visited this tearoom many, many times and have never been disappointed. We took three of our grandchildren today. As usual everything surpassed expectations. We had lovely fresh finger sandwiches, a lovely selection of cakes and pastries, wonderful scones and plenty of tea. All in lovely surroundings. The ladies are so attentive and nothing is too much trouble. We have been to many places locally and to the Dorchester and Savoy in London for afternoon tea and this is by far the best for value, quantity and selection. Thank you, our grandchildren loved it........however they want ,to know when they can come again.

My Sister bought my mum to see me today and we went to The Long Melford Tearooms. What can I say but absolutely amazing!! Toasties are the best ever and the cake amazing!! Also the staff so perfect!! Looked after my 3yr old brilliantly!! I cannot get out due to cancer so this was a treat for me and I had the best time!!

I called in for a coffee and a cake, difficult to decide between lovely homemade sponges or a scone. Opted for a scone which came with plenty of butter and jam, the scone was lovely and light and not dry like some can be. Jam was possibly homemade too but I didn't ask. I sat quite a while doing some work and then was offered a top up for my coffee at no extra charge, that is not offered very often these days - its usually how can we fleece paying public the most and get away with!From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a lovely warm welcome and great service throughout my visit. I was embarrassed to find that I had no change to leave a tip and the ladies needed their change for the till so they told me not to worry... just visit again. Not sure how soon that would be, so have decided to leave a positive review as way of a thank you.

This is by far the best tea room around in Suffolk, my sister and I often meet here with our small kids. The ladies that run it are the most amazing and warm friendly people, nothing is too much, they love chatting to and accommodating the kids they have toys and books and colouring for them and so far in a room of breakables nothing has been broken yet but they of course always say dont worry at all the kids are kids. The cake is bloody amazing, best proper homemade cake, my husband won't get cake anywhere else now as just isn't as good. We have been coming since it opened whenever we get the chance and will continue to do so. It is our little sanctuary when out with toddlers/babies. We have been turned away from other tea rooms in long Melford before or told to sit outside in the cold with a newborn (in winter) as they couldn't accommodate us and the children as we had a pram (even though the place was empty). If you are in long Melford there's no friendlier, charming or more comfortable place to be for some tea and cake!

On our way for a short break in Sudbury, we diverted to Long Melford to find somewhere for a light lunch. Long Melford has a lovely main street, with a good range of independent shops, cafes, pubs, etc; in short, the perfect English small town.After a short stroll to see what's available, we opted for the Long Melford Tea Room, a pretty little place, completely in keeping with the the surroundings and the idealistic view of a traditional English tea room. We weren't disappointed!The ambience is as near perfect as one could expect, with tablecloths, real flowers on the tables, traditional decor and displays of vintage chinaware and ornaments.The menu is short but with a perfectly adequate choice (this is a tea room, not a restaurant) and prices are reasonable. However, what makes this establishment outstanding is the quality of the food and the excellent, friendly service.We chose the Cheddar cheese, sundried tomato and pesto toasted sandwich. The bread was proper stuff (presumably from a local craft bakery?) and the filling was very generous. It was accompanied by a salad garnish and "hand cooked" crisps; the latter were presented in chintzy, vintage demi-tasse coffee cups - a delightful little touch.Overall, this was a lovely experience. If only we had a similar traditional cafe where we live! (Suffolk is a little bit too far from Warwickshire for this to be a regular lunch venue).

As regular customers we are always happy to visit and sad to leave. From the warm welcome from Teresa and Sharon to the superb, delicious cakes and scones, we are always delighted. The frequency of new scones and cakes means there is always something delicious to try. We will be back again and again.
