Logans Restaurant in South Ayrshire

Lovely restaurant which is part of beautiful hotel in the town of Prestwick. Food was superb and service was great as expected.

After having a discussion with the server about whether there was cream in the tomato and spinach pasta sauce and was assured that there was no cream, I ordered it. The meals duly arrived and I was presented with a bowl of pasta carbonara, which I definitely would never have ordered. I was advised that it would be replaced and would be served in about five minutes - fifteen minutes later it was served. Meanwhile my friends had just about finished their meals. There was very little by way of apology, nor were we offered a reduction in the bill. Not a pleasant experience, I doubt whether I will be returning.

We had a fantastic family meal 9 of us food was excellent. Staff were so nice helpful . We have eat here on many occasions and always excellent food and service.

Afternoon tea The food was great but the afternoon tea itself felt very transactional. The tea was brought 20 minutes before the food and we weren't offered a fresh pot. The waitress brought out the food and said she would be back in a second. We had no idea what for so after 5 minutes we started eating. Then she appeared with soup. It was all lovely but a bit disjointed. The sandwiches were placed quite sloppily on the plates.

We booked here for Sunday Lunch and was very impressed with the standard of the food and service we recieved. We were exceptionally impressesd with Kieron who went above and beyond to make sure we had an exceptional meal. As my wife is Vegetarian they were happy to make sure her dietary requirements were meet to a high standard.

Fish and chips were great, all other meals very disappointing. Butterfly chicken was extremely dry, had to buy sauce to accompany, a full huge tomato and enough potato to almost cover the fork, also came with a mushroom, that was all on the plate. Gammon was minimal in size, extremely salty, no pineapple, but a horrible pineapple relish, not much else on the plate. Won’t be back

Absolutely disgusted with the attitude from a member of staff when we said the chips were not satisfactory, reply was well you have eaten more than half the meal which was not true

Arrived late for check in as we are traveling across Scotland and dinner service was almost finished. The waitstaff didn't seem to be bothered by us coming in late, they were friendly and more than happy to seat us. Food has not been that great throughout our travels and we were just blown away with every meal we ordered here. So flavorful and so many options! The drinks were very good as well! If we were staying longer in this area, we would eat every meal here! Great place!

I was taken to Logans for my fathers day dinner. There were six of us in the party. It was a special fathers day 3 course menu which everyone in our party felt offered a good variety of dishes. Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. The staff were friendly and attentive. One of our party cannot eat gluten and this was far from a problem with most dishes on the menu either suitable or adaptable. A most enjoyable family meal.

Booked a table on arrival quickly seated and selection of menus supplied. Drinks order taken by Ross then food order. We had requested window seat, this supplied. The food was quickly served and as usual good value. Surprised how quiet it was early evening, probably needs an offer or two

My husband and I went for dinner here last night, ir was absolutely delicious. We have been here many times for the carvery, but had only been to Logans once. Wish we had been more often. Food was delicious, I had featherblade of beef and my husband had a fillet steak. Both cooked to perfection. I had apple crumble for dessert that was mouthwatering. Service was friendly and warm with being obtrusive. The atmosphere was relaxed and we felt very welcome. Definitely going back here.

Lovely meal here a couple of nights ago. Also had the afternoon tea a month ago. Highly recommend this place as both a great restaurant situated in a great hotel which is part of a fabulous chain of hotels. I will return soon.

While on holiday in Scotland we visited here with sister and her husband, and we are glad we did. The food was delicious but the talking point of the meal was the black pudding and haggis tower which the men in the party had, I had a little taste and although I am not a lover of black pudding I have to admit it was delicious. The rest of the meals were not disappointing and with very friendly staff it turned out to be a very enjoyable day out. The next time I am in Scotland I will definitely be back and would also consider staying there as it is very close to lots of shops and close to beach.

Cant stay away, we always tend to eat there when we visit our family in Prestwick, the reason for this is because we know that the food is going to be first class along with the service that we receive and once again they didn't disappoint us. Well done to Kirsti and her staff for looking after us.

We were given an Itison voucher at Christmas for Logan’s Restaurant and booked to go on Friday. Previous experience of these vouchers has meant smaller portions but not so in Logan’s. From the time we got shown to our table, the service was first class. There was a good choice on the menu and when the food came the portions were huge, the food piping hot and delicious. We will definitely be back again and would highly recommend this restaurant.

Returned after a year , still as bad . Service, value , ambiance very poor, and food not exceptional. Main problem were staff , assume staff training is a thing of the past . Dining Room manager who couldn’t have cared less and actually side stepped us rather than make eye contact as we left . 30 minutes to have order taken and never really improved.

Popped in on new year’s eve. Lovely surroundings and had a relaxing meal. Service initially very slow however it picked up as more staff came on shift. Staff were friendly. Food was very nice. Perfect portion sizes. The sea bass tempura was excellent. Prices were fair and we felt it was good value. Good selection of wines and cocktails. We hadn’t been here for years but will certainly return soon.

Went for morning coffee with my friend . Turns out you have to go up to the bar to order and pay for what you want yourself . So went up to order . There were a few people in front of us ordering and all paying separately . Had quite a wait, standing waiting to place my order . . Not what you want to have to do when you are out for a relaxing leisurely catch up with a friend for a coffee . Wouldn’t go back . Plenty of other nicer places to go for morning coffee where you are served by staff and treated better .

We decided to have dinner with our family ( 4 adults and a toddler) on Boxing day at Logan's restaurant in The Carlton as my husband and I had both been working Christmas day and what a lovely meal it was I've been to a few of the Rad Hotels recently and the service has been slow but today it was really good . Compliments to the chef and a big thanks to the staff for the fantastic meal . Would definitely recommend .

Stayed in the hotel on Tuesday night and was joined the next day by my family for lunch, the restaurant was packed due to the lead up to Christmas, however we didn't have to wait long for our order to be taken and we didn't wait long for the food to be served. Once again the food was first class and we couldn't have asked for a better meal, the staff were really friendly, I shudder to think how busy the kitchen was especially with the amount of people eating there. We will definitely be back in the near future. Well done to the management and staff, you are a credit to the RAD Group.

Visited for a family review 25 of us had a nice backroom in hotel (Carlton) staff and service good no complaints, I am presuming the meal was supplied by Logan's? which was really like a school dinner very poor and small portions, another larger party on in main hall so maybe they had to much on, apart for food we had a nice evening pity about the meal

Went for a dinner at Logan’s restaurant on a visit to Prestwick and found the location suited us well.

Been a few times before, was nice, not memorable. We have been for breakfast 3-4 times and each time you are made to feel that they are and i know they can be, too busy to deal with customers unless you are staying at the Hotel. I know they probably have priority over walking in punters but after the last visit, wont be back, the breakfast was very wet as if sitting in an liquid to keep the bacon, egg warm etc. the plate was pooled and the bacon was very wet, very off putting and made us feel quite sick. The order included Toast etc which was ordered but never arrived. The Tea, you get 10 minutes before you eat which you have finished by the time the food arrives. The staff we have not a problem with, except toast guy !!!. But they just seem to make you feel like why are you here, this is a hotel even though it is advertised as they are open to public. 2/10

Checked online to see what the Carlton hotel options were for dining. I got Chloe on the phone and asked for details of both restaurants they have (one is a carvery and the other is Logan's which is still in the Carlton hotel (RAD Group). I knew there was two restaurants but Chloe told me there was only one. I said I would call back as I was confused by her reaction.

Visited logans last Monday service was fine but food we really didn't enjoy the starters were OK but the main course let them down I had gammon off the specials and I thought it was gammon steak but it came sliced my son had steak which was mediocre the onion rings were covered in grease and so was the mushroom but what really I felt was terrible my granddaughter had pots and fish which also was really greasy but what upset us was the plate was extremely hot to touch and for an 20months child I believe this is wrong and if we hadn't cut her food up wouldn't have realised yes the waitresses watch plates are warm but don't think I will be back again,

Visited restaurant for the grill night and it was delicious and great value for money for 2 steaks,sides, desserts and 2 drinks was £45. Staff were very friendly and I was just guttted I wasn’t staying in the adjoining hotel as u could have done with lie down after meal

Having recently got married at the Carlton, we were delighted when we received a £50 voucher through the post to enjoy another meal in our lovely wedding venue. What a nice gesture we thought. The Carlton food is always great!

Had delicious salmon and steak here. Strongly recommend they review their sides though. Seasonal vegetables had clearly been microwaved or left under a heat lamp until they were totally dead:( sweet chilli noodles weren’t good - tasted of bottled sweet chilli sauce - very disappointing. Pavlova for dessert, which was very good and well worth coming for again.

We really enjoyed eating here twice during our stay in Ayr. The menu had a great choice for adults and children. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious.

We came here last Sunday for a girls afternoon tea. A number of us have had the afternoon tea before and it really has been delicious, hence why we chose here. I called ahead as I’m vegetarian and they have always made egg mayo and cheese savoury for me. I reminded the waiter about this and he said ‘we only have a note saying egg savoury’ I told them that’s not what I communicated when I called to let them know, anyway it got sorted. There were ten of us altogether, and we got our tea/coffee then about half an hour later two stands appear ( coronation chicken finger sandwiches, ham croissants and salad wraps. Five scones and the sweet treats were all cream) thinking there was more to come, we waited. One of our party asked where the rest was and the waitress told us ‘that was it’ ! It was defiantly not £100 worth of food. Spoke to manager and she was very apologetic, said that there was a mistake from kitchen and she would send out more. We were given fresh tea and coffee and a bottle of Prosecco free.

Went with friends and had a lovely dinner. Restaurant was very modern and clean. Menu had plenty of choice and food was really good. Served by a few different waiters\waitresses who were all really pleasant and helpful. Service was quick and very efficient. Bar maid Nicola was excellent and very friendly. place was busy and had a good ambience. Very good value for money and look forward to returning.

We chose to go visit Logan’s Restaurant recently because it’s got great parking and whenever we’ve been before the meals have always been very good. Sadly on this occasion the meal wasn’t great and it was quite expensive for what we had.

We went out for a family meal to Logan’s restaurant as this is a local establishment which we often enjoy however 5 of us got our meal with us having to chase up the 6th as again there was a five minute delay(this also happened on our last visit) we then waited over 25 minutes for our deserts albeit the server did apologise when we chased these up and we we were given the two kids free which I would have thought considering we only ordered three ( 2 kids and 1 adults) we might have got them all but again at least it was something. Then when the bill arrived it was wrong and I had to get this amended and when I queried why I had been charged the same for the adults soft drink as the kids I was told there was no difference in price just the kids come in a plastic glass???? Anyway by this time I could not be bothered questioning as kids were tired and I just wanted to leave. Staff were pleasant but I feel the service lets it down which is disappointing as this was a favourite place to eat out for us as a family.

We visited on Easter Sunday and were surprised at how quiet the restaurant was. We were regular customers a few years ago and it was always very busy. However after eating lunch I can see why it’s so quiet. The decor and staff were good but that’s where any positives end.

Straight off the food was really good and the pricing was reasonable. The score should have been 5 stars but what detracted from my visit was that the restaurant was way too hot, the service was slow (I'm not looking for course followed immediately by course but the delay was way too long) and having waited for a long time to get the bill (having had to specifically grab a server on the way by) we then had to go direct to the till (where there was another delay) as nobody came back to the table for payment. To repeat it should have scored better but the restaurant was either understaffed or not well organised.

Went to Logan’s restaurant for the Sunday carvery. The restaurant looks tired with chipped tables, poor quality crockery and paper napkins. This area of the hotel needs decorated. Service was terrible! Despite several waiting staff on duty the impression we got was that they couldn’t be bothered. Place obviously lacks good management.

Having just visited Logan’s tonight, for the last time , on arrival we were greeted by a lovely bartender who showed us to our seats, after ordering our main course mine arrived, tandoori chicken skewers, cut in to them, RAW , sent them back and waited for the return, the waiting staff were superb, apologetic for the meal , but at no time did any management come and see us left to the poor excellent waiting staff replacement arrived, ok , bill came for full amount, had to request manager looked at it and mine was eventually removed, been here on many many occasions over the years and the past few times have been ok , no more , tonight was the the last chance, standard has definitely slipped over the last months, waiting staff excellent, kitchen and quality poor

Portion sizes seem to have been dramatically reduced

Took our granddaughter here and she loves it, as do we. There is a good choice on the menu and the childrens menu is even better! 3 course for £8 for the children, great value with good sized portions. The adult portions are very generous too luckily they do doggy bags! Food is delicious, staff were friendly and efficient, surroundings nice, overall good value and would recommend.

Quite an achievement visiting 3 RAD hotels in a month, all for different reasons. The lunch was nice, although there was a mixup with the bill. Decor was unusual, but nice, although it is not quite of the same decorative standard as other hotels.

First time sampling this menu, so glad we did. For £10.95. Pick one meat and two side dishes, and what a selection!!

Over the last two years my wife and I have eaten in this restaurant on numerous occasions whilst visiting family in Prestwick and we've never ever been dissapointed as other reviewers have stated. We had dinner there last night and were looked after by Rachel who was first class, she went out of her way to look after us which we thank her for. The RAD Group who own Logans should be really proud of her as she is a credit to their establishment along with all the other staff that they have working for them. The food was that good we went back today for lunch with our daughter and granddaughter and once again the food was first class along with the service that we recieved. We will definitely be back in the future. Well done to all concerned as you are a credit to the RAD Group.

So I wanted Roast beef with yorkshire pud! and everyone said that only curry houses would be open the sunday before new years eve. Thanks to a quick search and taking pot luck a suitable venue was located I had my wish granted. A very enjoyable meal with home made soup to start and excellent cheese board to finish off. The staff were very helpfull and cheerfull. Many thanks guys

Took my mother to Logan's last night for dinner, my partner and i had starters which were delicious, my mother opted to just have main meal. We ordered from a la carte menu. Both my partner and mum chose haddock which was a big mistake. Disappointed to find it was frozen fish. Unacceptable in my eyes from a la carte. When we were asked by our waitress if we enjoyed our meal mum pointed this out which was answered by "oh I don't know" while she walked away. There are plenty of good restaurants out there so I would suggest letting your customers know your fish is not fresh but frozen.

Took our staff here on Saturday night food was average we were through in the new restaurant what are they doing the lights made everything orange and some were complaining of feeling dizzy Logan’s was empty think RAD group has lost it

We booked the table for six people and two children last night for 5.30pm as we needed to eat early. On arrival we were shown to the table by a young lady and a drinks order was taken followed by the food order, we were looked after by a young waiter called Alan who was very attentive and who is a credit to the establishment. Everyone at the table commented on the quality of the food and said that it was first class along with the first class service. We've eaten in this restaurant on several occasions in the past and had a great experience every time. We will definitely be back in the future, well done to the management and their team.

Our experience yesterday was defenetly not a very good one. We have had afternoon tea before at a sister hotel and it was great but this one was poor. On arrival the member of staff was abrupt and it seemed to be a bother to show us to our table. We received our food and had to ask twice after this to have our tea along with it. We also had to ask for jam and cream for scones and it all seemed to b a bit of a problem to a certain member of staff. I certainly won't be back here for afternoon tea.

We had cooled on Logans in the recent past and have not been for a while as I was disappointed with our last visit, however, as another birthday rolled around we decided to try again. We booked, no problem and once we arrived, the restaurant did not seem overly busy.

Have visited Logan's several weeks in a row now. The food is good and service is excellent. Even asked if Iwanted more strawberries in my pink gin! Their Sunday roast in Logan,s is very tasty and the white chocolate cheesecake is delicious. Will return soon.

Stopped of here for afternoon tea on our way home to break up the journey. I would highly recommend it to anyone, the food was delicious. The staff are very friendly, courteous and professional.

Great afternoon tea and service was excellent. Pleasant, modern and very clean surroundings. Afternoon tea consisted of crossaint with cream cheese and ham, a wrap (nice filling), large chicken filled vol au vent, very large scone with butter cream and jam, small trifle, chocolate case (good quality) with a cream filling and a large profiterole with a strawberry and cream , plus tea or coffee. Excellent value at £20 for two people. Certainly will be back soon - now full up and bursting.

e ate here twice over the last couple of weeks and both times it has been good food and service. The food is good but varies depending of time of visit, we enjoyed what we had and cannot fault the staff, they are very pleasant and helpful. There were eight of us on our second visit and we mixed between the set manu and the a la carte and all were good, will return as the venue is relaxing.

We recently visited Logan’s for a meal with our toddler and can’t praise them enough. Firstly the staff were absolutely fantastic with our 1 year old all throughout our meal, despite the noise and mess at times Food was amazing and great value

We had gone to the Carlton Hotel of a meal with friends on a Friday evening. My wife had breaded haddock with chips and peas which looked as if it had been bought from the cheap range at the local Tesco, nothing appeared to have been freshly prepared. I had the gammon which was a good portion and came with a cloying gravy (made from powder) and a selection of vegetables where the potatoes and turnip were very hard and undercooked.

The Itison deal at Logans is great value, and the meal was good enough to be good value at full price!

My husband and I went to Logans resturant for a meal for our 44th wedding anniversary. What a disaster

My wife and I thought we would go out for a meal tonight and as Logan's is close we chose there. I must say the service was awful. We were seated, drinks order taken and given two menus. Fifteen minutes later we were still sitting with no sign of any service. In this time another three people were seated. They were give a choice of menus and told of gammon roast special that was on offer whilst we were ignored. Eventually we gave up and left, not before we had paid for our drinks. We were asked by Susan if everything was okay. I told her that I thought the service was terrible and explained that we had basically been ignored. The surprising thing is we've been to your carvery many times and always found the service to be great.

Been a regular Customer for many years. Took my 93 year old mother for a meal as she loves it here. Ordered the beef Stroganoff at £16.50. Arrived with 3 slivers of beef, was very tasty but clearly miss served. Asked the waitres to resolve she said she would talk to the chef, she never came back so I asked what the chef said and she said she hadnt had time to mention it to him. The manger then arrived and said "you should have mentioned it to the waitress at the time the chef says he would have provided extra beef" I explained I had. The manager left with no further appologies or coment to the fact I had raised it at the time. Very dissapointing, have always recommended as a good alternative to Costley...shame as Costley always maintains consistant meals.

Visited here for a birthday dinner on a Friday night. Wasn't overly busy. Had main meals and desserts. Main meals were very nice and well put together. Desserts were a bit of a disappointment as the sponge pudding was bland and very little custard to go with it. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. One lady who seated us and took our order was very nice but when we asked for second drinks and desserts it took ages for them to bring drinks after I asked a second time then for a 3rd time I had to ask to see the dessert menu. When I went up to pay I was totally ignored by the member of staff behind the desk.

Lovely restuarant which has been refurbished since we last visited. Lovely meal on the deal menu although we could have ordered from a la carte.

The carvery is excellent value for money but unfortunately they have cut back the amount of meat you get significantly,there is three selection of meats on offer gammon,turkey and roast beef but they cut them very small,not enough for a child let alone a grown man.

On a day trip to Troon we went to Logans Restaurant in the Carlton Hotel, Prestwick for dinner. Lovely, modern restaurant with a good atmosphere. The two course dinner was very good and reasonably priced. Waitress service was also very good. Rounded off a pleasant day trip to Ayrshire.

My partner booked this last minute for a meal (which happened to be on mothers day but not why we were going out) When he phoned he was surprised that we managed to get fitted in no problem. There was NO MENTION at this time of a set menu or we would have went somewhere else or booked for the carvery.

Stayed at the Carlton Hotel for two nights Bed and Breakfast and ate in their Logans Restaurant. It was busy both nights for dinner,midweek, which just emphasises how popular it is.

Booked into the hotel for the second time this year, the first time we stayed we wrote a review on the hotel but this time we thought we would add a review on 'Logans Restaurant'. We had a two course dinner deal with our booking and we decided not to have a starter but to have a main course and a desert, the restaurant was very busy with it being a Saturday night but the service that we received was first class. When the food arrived we were completely blown away with the quality and taste and to add to that the deserts were also fabulous. I take my hat off to the staff at the hotel and at 'Logans' as they worked their 'Socks Off' during our stay.

Lovely breakfast with the family. Good selection and choice. Great Eggs cooked as requested and at a great price. Well worth a visit.

Have been to logans and the carvery at the Carlton several times. Thus visit was disappointing not that busy but waiting staff was not on the ball. Key waitress complained that she was tiered. Servers shoddy. Drinks served poorly with empties left after serving refreshed drinks. Starter was very unusual in welsh rarebit that was hot over a mess of chopped cold tomatoes. Main was OK but duck that was pink and sliced no good crisp on skin and mixed through with jus and veg.
