What a fantastic range of pies. We tried a few varieties in our two weeks in the area and all were lovely. The outside seating area is also great if you’re lucky enough to find a free table. We will definitely be back and may be buying same of their mail order pies in the meantime!

We picked up a couple of pies to take with us on our ascent of Suilven. Excellent service and packed brilliantly so they were still warm 3 hours later. Delicious and hit the spot needed to get us up the mountain. Highly recommend both the pies and the hike. We had pork and chorizo and pork and apple both very good particularly the one with chorizo. Highly recommend definitely worth a stop if you are anywhere nearby.

Unfortunately, despite the website and prior research telling us that they were open until 7pm, on arrival at 6.10pm, we were informed that the kitchen stopped at 6pm and the only thing available was cold pies and drinks. After a long day of travel and very few other options, this wasn’t what we expected. It would help if the website were accurate.

Definitely worth cycling through the steep hill in the west coast for the pies. The pie is rich with fillings and the crust of the pie just melts in the mouth. Will definitely return for the seconds! ;)

I had a fantastic vegan sausage ciabatta (one of the best in my life - onion marmalade and fresh crusty roll were to die for) and my hubby had a steak pie that he said was amazing. We came here six years ago and so happy to see that this business is still thriving.Hoping next time to see a vegan pie? A vegan haggis, neeps and tattie one would be awesome!Would also be nice to have the minimum order for pies by post reduced to 6 rather than 12 as 12 is a lot of pies....

Had heard great things about this place and arrived on a Sunday evening 30 minutes before closing time only to be told that no sides were available, only hot or cold pies. How long would it have taken to make some gravy or peas to have with a pie?I ordered a Chicken Curry pie and my partner had a Chicken and Ham pie. They arrived shortly after. The pies were a good size and had plenty of filing but were quite dry (gravy would have solved this). It was disappointing that the full menu was unavailable despite being within opening hours.

Visited early evening in June and when we ordered out pies were told no sides were available which was disappointing. We felt Lochinver Larder were missing a trick if they were not serving accompanying sides at present. However looking at other reviews from June, it appears other diners were served sides, so if they were simply sold out on the night we visited we were certainly not told. The pies were good but would have been better with sides, especially gravy.

The pies here are really excellent, there’s no denying that. But the manager walks about telling customers what to do, he probably thinks he’s being helpful but a smile wouldn’t hurt, without that he just comes across bossy. We asked if there was any intention to open inside now that catering has opened up and he said there’s “no demand”. While we’re sat outside freezing cold on wet benches and our food is going cold, he still insists on shutting at 6pm when this is really the only food and drink option in the village and leaving everybody outside to freeze. He could literally just open the door to the dining room inside, maintain the same service wagon outdoors to order your food and we would be happier and stay longer (if he was willing to open past 6pm!). He also needs to learn to put his mask over his nose, no use with it just over your mouth.

Pies are packed to brim with filling and the new addition of the Christmas pie is superb. Yes, they are more expensive than cheapo alternatives but they are a different class altogether. We both had a hot drink and the roast pork/apple sauce brioche. The bun was soggy and almost falling apart, the pork was lukewarm and fairly tasteless. All the flavor came from the apple sauce. For £8.50 per bun the amount of food we got and the quality was very poor.We also felt that, as the Larder was operating as a take away service, the overall price of £22.90 for 2 buns and 2 coffees was ridiculous. The saving grace of our experience was that it killed some time (due to the longish wait for cold food) in Lochinver seeing as there was not really anything else to do with our day.

Although the pies on offer at this eatery are good, the fact that there is no vegan pie option is disappointing. If Greggs can make a vegan sausage roll, surely you guys can make a vegan pie?!Also, in line with other comments, closing the restaurant and forcing people to eat outside or in their cars if they have a take-away is not great. So disappointed that yet another example of an eatery using covid as an excuse not to have tables inside and toilets open. Many places smaller than this can operate safely inside. The weather was wet and windy today, there were no queues but a few people (some of whom left when they realised it was takeaway only and went to the little coffee shop in the village). I think there is more chance of slipping in the mud or the wet flooring than catching anything here! This system maybe worked in the summer but surely no way can you do this through the winter. I had no idea this place was called the Lochinver Larder: to me and my circle it was simply the Lochinver Pie Shop, so I can't comment on anything apart from the pies! I have only ever bought pies here. OK so they are good pies, better than most shop bought pies, convenient to take away and munch in the open, and they come in a great variety of fillings. I enjoyed my lamb pie and the fruity one although my other half was less impressed with her squash and goat's cheese pie that overdosed on the cheese and went light on the veg. I have no complaints. The prices are reasonable. If you are hungry and in the area and want a satisfying snack, a Lochinver Larder pie should do nicely.

We've been to Lochinver Larder a number of times when anywhere near Lochinver. Delicious homemade pies as you explore the stunning scenery of Assynt. What's not to like? This summer with pandemic restrictions, it's takeaway only and a new seating area outside - with a view to Loch Inver. The pies are varied and delicious with the best pie pastry I've ever eaten. I'm partial to the Poached Salmon while family love the cauliflower/broccoli and cheese or butternut squash, sweet potato and goats cheese but any of them will be delicious. We took some back to Ullapool to have another meal and they heated up beautifully . The apricot and peach pie was delicious too.I think they are very good value for money for the quality. I thought so too on previous visits when we had a full meal with the pies in the restaurant. Excellent website with more information about their expansion plans and also some interesting information about people in the community. I enjoyed reading the individual stories.

Two pies ordered one steak one chicken both excellent both devoured-packed with meat and a sweet crusty pastry what's not to like.Bit pricey but it's a cost worth paying to try these famous pies.

Visited this place when on holiday by recommendation from another visitior. We were a party of 6 who all ordered different items from the menu. Every pie we had was delicious and the fruit pies were very tasty. Definitely worth the long drive to get there.

Visited this place last year for the first time and glad to be back here this year again. During our 1 week long visit to this region this year w went to have some food at Lochinver Larder 3 times. We tried most of the pies and some sea food too and all were of the top quality. Due to Covid-19 crisis only card payments were accepted at that time, but on one day when terminal was broken cash payments had to be made. Would definitely visit again myself and recommend to anyone visiting this region or doing NC 500 route as must visit / must eat place.

A group of friends and i came here for lunch and it was superb. We had a mix of pies and seafood that was on offer. The herb crumbed Haddock in a brioche bun was superb and the venison and cranberry pie was amazing. Would definitely recommend going for either!

The pies were very nice indeed, tasty and deep filled. The prices are on the high side for what is essentially just a very good pie but then prices are high in the Highlands. The ciabatta sandwiches are similar, expensive but very nice with plenty of filling.

Just the best pies ever. Sweet and savoury and they’ve adapted to the covid crisis and can still serve some cracking food.

Very tasty pies to take away. The only reason it is not 5 star is because there was no gravy or extras with it (mash/chips). Would go and visit again for a full on sit down meal, but due to the current crisis it is take away only.If they deliver to Northampton, sign us up!

Very impressed with the COVID19 measures on our recent visit. The click and collect army truck is a great idea. The pies are delicious and the view over the Loch from the outdoor seating area is great on a sunny day.

We were worried that our favourite pie shop would be closed given the obvious state of the world, but were very pleased to find that it was open on our trip to the highlands this weekend. Pies were great as usual, and perfect for our walks

We stopped off here for lunch. The pies were fantastic. Haggis, Neep’s and Tatties pie served hot was brilliant! You can do a click and collect in advance which would reduce your waiting time

Used the Click and Collect service to order pies before eating them in the garden. A very good set up to maintain the current social distancing requirements. I had been in contact via Facebook prior to visiting just to check opening times etc and they were extremely helpful. The pies were amazing! I would definitely go back!

Chicken curry pie was expensive and dry for 9.95 would have expected much more. "meal soup" was expensive but ok. service a bit slow. coffee was nice. I'm afraid we wouldn't return unless stuck.

Visited the Larder today and I’ve got to say I think it’s expensive and over priced, £9.95 for a regular sized pie. Ok we ate in, but it’s cafe in a conservatory, not a flashy restaurant. The pie was nice, but nothing I believe justified the price. Also just to rub salt into the wounds when the bill arrived I had been charged £2.85 for a can of Coke!!

This place is a wonderful local gem. We had the venison pie with mash and peas and it came with a lovey onion gravy. We also had tea served in local highland stoneware centre pottery.

We had a long driving day and were looking forward to stooping for a bite to eat. My partner and I are both vegetarian and there were plenty of pie options for us. We tried three different ones, a broccoli and cheese, a vegetable curry, and I can't remember the third. They were SPECTACULAR! We split one right away and then took the other two on our hike of Stac Pollaidh. Absolutely delicious. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the woman who served us at the takeaway counter was a not super engaged.

I visited this place for lunch today with 4 other family members. Between us we sampled the sweet potato and goats cheese pie with jacket potato and salad, the haggis pie with side salad and bread, braised beef and mashed potato and another spicy flavoured pie (sorry can't remember which one). All plates were wiped clean. Staff were really friendly and attentive despite being busy. Also sampled the lemon tart and the ice cream - absolutely lovely. With drinks it worked out about £20 a head which is not the cheapest but you have to pay (though not too much) for quality food like this. Will I go again when next in Lochinver - Most definitely yes! Well worth a visit - and don't forget to buy some pies to take home with you - enough said.

Traveled up to Lochinver from Skye for a wee drive, came across this restaurant. It was busy but service was quick, we decided to sit in as you can take away as well, we ordered the venison and the pork and cider pies, both were fantastic.I would recommend dropping by here if you are in Lochinver or near about. The only thing is the price of the pies good as they were, they were on the pricey side!,Definitely come back here though for a bite to eat.

We took friends while were staying locally to Stoer lighthouse and needed refreshment on the way! Weather was cool and damp but this place was open and buzzing. Two of us had Thai beef and noodle soup, which was huge and we opted for a cheese and chive scone to go with it, which was delicious! O e of us had Cullen Skink which was also huge and they enjoyed it, it was the first Cullen Skink they had tried! One of us had one if the famous venison and cranberry pies this eatery is famous for. It came with a salad and was delicious. Desserts were also tasty.
