Loch Fyne - Woodside Ascot in Bracknell Forest

Booked 3 weeks ago for a spe ial birthday treat. Turned up this evening to find it had shut down... They couldn't even bothered to have told us....

We had dinner here with our elderly friend and our little girl, we had a great evening, our waiter was amazing and catered to our table amazingly. Menu has got a little smaller since we came before but we had an amazing meal and birthday celebration.

Do NOT eat in this restaurant. They were turning people away at the door when the restaurant was half full for the whole evening - not enough staff or food? - and the meal was atrocious. They were unable to provide our choice of wine (“just sold the last bottle” - at 7pm) from a very limited wine list. The total bill came to over £60 per head. Incredulous. There are so many better places to eat in the area.

We had booked for lunch on Monday 15th and we were seated by the acting manager, Ben, who promptly disappeared. We looked for a member of staff to bring menus. After several minutes we were given menus by Ryan who was very pleasant and helpful even though he was the only member of staff to be seen. There was a long delay before taking our order and the lunchtime experience just got worse. Without saying too much more I’ll just say that Ryan was very happy to help us but was under pressure, he did his best. We enjoyed our food. As we left we saw Ben, acting manager, sat outside relaxing on his phone with AirPods/earphones in. Unacceptable.

Driven past many times and finally booked a table. Friendly welcome by staff and interior was nice. Food was hot and tasty, I had fish pie which was nice but not too salty for my taste. My friend had fish and chips which she enjoyed. Will defo be back .

It's about 45 minutes for us to get here but so worthwhile. As on previous visits the food as cooked to perfection and service was impeccable. My wife enjoyed the mixed seafood grill and said the mussels were the best she has ever had, my hake fillet was gently fried to perfection with hardly any oil, and our daughter's whole sea bass (which they kindly filleted when cooked) didn't have a single bone. The pace of service was just right so thank you to everyone front of house and in the kitchen. We will be delighted to return.

My husband and I went for a long awaited meal to Loch Fyne Ascot. It was very quiet and staff were busy doing other things. No interaction or customer service. We started with the bread , oil and vinegar. It would have been nice if the bread was warm and more butter. We ordered fish cakes which were three balls smaller than golf balls and the haggis scotch egg which was raw and cold in the middle but burnt oily on the outside. The smoked haddock had its skin on which was off putting as it hadn’t be cooked . My husband ordered the mixed grill which had one prawn so the menu needs adjusting as it says king prawnS. Presentation was poor as everything was just thrown on a plate or a bowl. Overall really not worth the bother or money so overpriced , so many nicer places around this area so give Loch Fyne Ascot a miss.

Felt sorry for the staff. Not worth the money. Last time we go there. Shame. I complained twice. No manager. There was but expecting us to see him at the end of the meal. Wow. Stunned. So livid.

I've been customer for over ten years here now and never was so disappointed with the service.. our waitress did not know if we can order from the main menu ( we couldn't as only valentine's Day menu was offered to all customers that day), wasn't sure if I can order just basket of bread to start with.. she never checked on us ( and it wasnt that busy at the time) and to be honest I couldn't wait to leave. At least food was great as always.. too bad I couldn't order some extra dishes as I left still being hungry..

Excellent quality food, really enjoyed all courses but the main course was the highlight. Our waiter was Jordan and from the start he was attentive and friendly. Will be returning due to the variety on the menu and lovely staff

I visited Loch Fyne in Windsor a week ago for the first time and was greeted by the lovely Jordan , who was our waiter for the evening. I could not fault him at all, his customer service and mannerisms were outstanding. He was so friendly and attentive , he made our experience so worthwhile. Will definitely be returning back to loch Fyne because of him! Thank you Jordan! :)

Visited the restaurant and had a lovely experience due to the lovely ambiance, food and service I received. Jordan was our waiter and from the start he was extremely welcoming, friendly and attentive Jordan made a consistent effort to check in with our table and make sure we had everything we needed and I would return due to the outstanding service I received and delicious food, the menu is varied

We received a very friendly welcome and our table for 6 was ready and waiting for us. Food was amazing as always and the service impeccable thanks to Sheridan and the rest of the team. The restaurant was busy and there were only three servers however there was always a smile and a friendly friendly word. Thank you for making our visit a lovely and fun experience.

This restaurant is vastly overrated and very expensive. While it is admittedly a fish restaurant it does serve vegetarian main courses if they can be called such as they are no larger than a starter. I would not recommend there are far better restaurants locally.

We came by on our way home, it was busy but we were not rushed or made to feel unwelcome. The food is excellent- we had a sea food mix grill and risotto paired with a recommended wine. Buckley and him team were perfect through the evening - from the way we were greeted and walked through how things work (now in Covid times) to the little jokes that had us laughing after an already long drive home. We came in on our way back from Lego Land (as it was just a few miles in the car, barely 5 minutes drive) and even though the place is clearly popular and busy, the staff still found us a table. Always really good for lunch or dinner here. Fish cooked perfectly, choice of sides good. If one has room for deserts they are good as well. We have always had excellent service from our waiter.

I took my wife, son daughter in-law,& six year grandson for lunch yesterday Sunday 23rd Feb. The food, service & comfortable surroundings make this restaurant a lovely place to dine, & there is ample car parking on site.We all enjoyed our lunch & they have a special menu for children too.

Booked for a birthday meal. Hadn’t been for a couple of years but had previously had a good experience. It’s clearly gone downhill since.Service was very slow for most of the evening. When we first arrived, there were only 4 tables occupied but it still took an age to get a drink!When we wanted to pay the the bill, we tried to get the staff attention for over 15 minutes.Food was very average and poor in some cases. Chilli prawns had a hair in them. Yellow fin Tuna was bland and dry and the sticky toffee pudding had clearly been heated in the microwave.All in all, a poor experience which has put me off. I will not be returning anytime soon.

Despite being a restaurant group, Loch Fyne has enough charm and character to make it feel like a homely fish restaurant. The space is open and the decor has a rustic feel while the fresh fish on display adds to the charm. We tried the crispy squid for starters and it was crispy and tasty without being too chewy. The fresh fish we tried was grilled nicely and the fish was fresh and had a nice subtle flavour to lift it. We also ordered a bucket of mussels and we were happy to see they were cooked well. The sauce was nice and light as well and not overly salty which can be the case with mussels some times. The mussels themselves were fresh and meaty and were enough to fill us up. Overall the service was attentive and efficient and the meal was a nice treat.

Service was slow especially with a young child and bit stingy with the giant prawns only 2 otherwise very enjoyable
