Llanfaes ice cream parlour does not disappoint. The staff are friendly, there is a rewards app and the flavours are always tasty and interesting.

We’d had lunch nearby but came here for our dessert. My wife is from Brecon so we’re very aware of the brand. I had two scoops and my wife a single scoop. Fabulous - highly recommend!

One of the best ice creams I’ve had. Gooseberry crumble was to die for. I eat ice cream most days and this shop serves the best ice cream ive ever tasted. Well done and keep it just the way it is 100% perfect.

Visited with our family and our dog as we were in Brecon on holiday. Great choice of flavours that went down a treat by the old and young. Great that it is dog friendly too. Will definitely be paying a visit to the Cardiff Bay branch soon!

Amazing amazing ice cream! My absolute favourite. I love the cones and tubs but also the large tubs you can take home for the freezer. I always leave with a big bag full. I miss the cafe where you could get deserts and sundaes. Hoping it reopens now lockdown is wrapped up.

Wow! Delicious. Between the four of us we had 4 different flavors and happy with all three. If you are an ice cream lover and you are in the area it’s a must go.

Ice cream is amazing. Choices brilliant. Coffee was good.service good. Unfortunately bloke behind counter had his finger picking his ear, hand allover his face and nose then touching spouts on coffee machine. No hand washing. Poor food hygiene put me off.

Hidden gem, no major signage outside but wow what a selection and fantastic ice creams. The Turkish delight flavour was a particular surprise, not often found. Definitely recommended

A must-visit on every trip to Brecon. I loved it when I used to visit from Cardiff and love it even more now I live locally. You can order/pay on the app to earn loyalty points towards free ice cream if you are a regular visitor. There is a wide range of flavours so there is something to suit everybody! Highly recommend afternoon tea, nutella rocky road and jaffa cake. Reasonably priced and always good service. The waffles are good too. Da iawn!

... That there would be a world class ice cream shop in Brecon, Wales. Certainly not me. There's a reason there's often a line of people waiting to get their ice creams here - the flavors are plentiful and the quality is just incredible. Perhaps it's the local cream from which the ice cream is made? Or perhaps part of the magic is the clever cones they make - I had an ice cream in a "Smarties Cone." Stupendous! Whatever it is or however they do it, waste no time and head on over, and if there's a line, don't worry it's worth it!

We visited twice on our three day stay in Brecon. With many standard, along with numerous unusual, flavours we can categorically say this is the best icecream we have ever tasted. Out biscoff sundae was the standout choice. The brightly painted interior had many tables to enjoy the desserts in comfort. The Dairy opened till seven pm each day and seemed to be permanently busy whenever we passed or visited.

Quick service, plenty of seating and delicious reasonably priced iced cream. People were travelling miles for it! Worth a detour.

Excellent ice cream at standard price for this quality. Not cheap but worth it. Friendly staff well organised good range of flavours. I drove from Blackwood, the boss decided she wanted one after having followed them on the gram for a long time. The drive was most definitely worth it. Was too good to snap a pic of the ice cream before I’d finished it… so have an empty tub instead.

Early morning visit during half term. Our extended family of 14 thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Very friendly staff, excellent range of lovely ice creams. We also enjoyed milkshakes and hot drinks. Beautifully clean. Highly recommended.

Visiting in late afternoon, we were lucky enough to miss all the queues. The service was clearly designed to get customers through as quickly as possible. but there was still time to stipulate your type of cone, number of scoops and of course , chosen flavours from an extensive list. We certainly enjoyed every one.

We’ve been in Brecon three days, and visited this ice cream parlour three times. So many flavours to choose from, and proper scoops! Nothing is spared to make this a great ice cream experience. Plenty of street side parking in front of the shop. Highly recommended!

Excellent diary ice cream, crazy number of flavours, good value, perfect after a hard days walking. Plus they have gluten free cones and vegan ice cream too!

I have been here twice and the service is pretty quick. The queues are always enormous but they go down extremely fast. They have such a good variety of flavours (vegan ones too) and loads of different cones or you can have it in a cup. They also do milkshakes and they have loads of toppings for your ice cream. What I really appreciate is that in the ice cream there’s always chunks of whatever it’s made of so say for example you have a ferrero rocher flavour there will be chunks of the chocolate in there. When I tried the blackberry and apple crumble flavour there was bits of blackberry in it, it’s so incredibly amazing. My favourite is 100% the ferrero rocher, I really recommend that if you are a big chocolate lover.

Absolutely lovely ice cream, so many flavours to choose from. Definitely a little pricey but definitely worth it.

Ice cream on a sunny October day. After reading good reviews I was very excited to try, especially the peanut butter. Great selection, however sad to say not much flavour. Not unpleasant but very subtle. For the price (£4.10 for two scoops) I expected more or bigger portions. Service was definitely not with a smile. I asked for some of the bits from the peanut butter ice cream on top, was told they mixed inside and not given them, but they were definitely not inside which was very disappointing and probably added to the lack of taste. Java cake and Ferrero roche flavours were just like chocolate ice cream, with no bits. Recommend sticking to traditional flavours. Saying that, during these times I am happy to pay extra to local businesses, and so would still recommend going.

The best ice cream I have eaten in a long time, I urge anyone visiting the area to pop into the dairy for a triple helping of their delicious offering, at least one scoop of Turkish delight is a must! The ice cream is best enjoyed whilst strolling along the promenade, enjoying the scenery and getting some fresh, crisp country air. Glad to see so many independent businesses thriving in Brecon.

The owners of the holiday let we stayed in very kindly left us a voucher for Llanfaes Dairy, and it was within an easy walk, so one late afternoon we called in to collect a treat.Lots of choice of flavours. We bought 2 x 1 litre tubs - not cheap at £6.50 each!!! BUT the ice cream was delicious!

We were staying in Brecon for the bank holiday weekend and visited here 30/08/2020.So glad we did as we could see other people enjoying their ice creams walking around Brecon.Lots of choice and the ice cream flavours are spot on (I had jaffa cake and Marathon) and there was real chunks of Jaffa cake oozing out of the ice cream.Very good value too for home made icecream and scoop size is not stingy!You must visit this place if you are in Brecon.

This was one of our last days with the children before school restarts next week. Ice-cream parlour was on the list of things they wanted to do so we drove 45mins to Brecon as we'd heard good things. Unfortunately we didn't experience good things. Communication from the waitresses was poor, no smiles, no please or thank yous, the ice-cream was practically melting in my cone and when I tasted my ice-cream (I asked for simple vanilla) it was yellow, lumpy and actually tasted like lemon. I was gutted. The queue was so long that I couldn't even go back and resolve the issues. Children enjoyed as it was ice-cream, but that it shouldn't have really been called that. I won't be returning here.

We were driving through the Brecons and as it was so hot really fancied an ice cream, glad Google took us 20mins out of the direction we were heading to find this place as the ice-cream was amazing and the menu huge, biggest dilemma was deciding the flavours! Great set up for covid 19 too with the queuing if that's anything you're worried about.

Went during COVID-19, the layout was immaculate, one way, hand sanitiser, Menzies while you queue. The ice cream was the best we’d ever tasted. It was so good!! 5 🌟

WE visit every time we come to Brecon. The ice cream is home churned from local ingredients and is top class. We also look out for them at the Royal Welsh Show every summer. Absolutely TOP CLASS ice cream!

We are keep going back to Brecon just for this icecream. You have to try it to appreciated. Flavour, texture and quality of the ingredients, all the best you could have asked for. No other icecream will ever taste the same after you have tried this one.

Family stop off just as we were leaving Brecon, fantastic to allow our 2 dogs inside with us. We all had double scoops - flavours ranged from traditional to funky. All fantastic. Definitely recommend!

A great selection of ice cream, eat in or take out, either way you are spoilt for choice. Forget the corporate dessert venues, do yourself a favour and try this flavour.

I have been to Llanfaes Dairy twice now while on holiday in the Brecon Beacons and both times the ice cream has exceeded my expectations.There is a brilliant range of flavours - some traditional, some a little more creative - yet every flavour I've tried has been absolutely delicious. It is quite expensive - but in the case of Llanfaes Dairy, you really do get what you pay for!

It's worth a visit for the Blueberry yoghurt icecream alone. So much choice you could visit every day for a month and have a different icecream - a must for any sunny day in Brecon.

We are staying near Brecon for a week and have now been here 4 times! Selection is excellent with some lovely flavours - apple and blackberry crumble is my favourite - including some vegan ice creams and the option to take a pack home in a cool bag. Staff aren't maybe as cheerful/helpful as they could be, but the ice cream itself makes up for this. Definitely worth a stop even if you're just passing through!

Loads of different flavours, so many you don’t know how to choose. There is seating outside where you can sit and eat your ice cream, there is also plenty of parking available.

Lots of different flavours and choice if plain or waffle cone. You can sit in with family and friends and enjoy yourselves . Will be stopping by again.

This place is so popular that you need to get there early. Although the wait in the queue is worth it. Absolutely love the pistachio, but you name the flavour, they probably have it. This is a regular Summer stop for me and my grandchildren. I would recommend this as a must do, for visitors on a hot day in the Beacons.

Absolutely delicious ice cream so many different varieties and well worth a visit. Be prepared to queue on a hot day. There is a lovely seating area inside. The staff are very friendly.

We loved popping into the ice cream parlour as it was so convenient between our holiday cottage and town - we couldn't resist calling in every time we passed. As t was the run up to Easter we had to try the Cream Egg flavour but another favourite was the Tum and Raisin. We will definitely call in again next time we are in Brecon :-)

Best ice cream I have ever tasted. Quite expensive but worth it. I had a tub with two scoops which cost £4. I tried white chocolate and biscoff and I wish I had just had all the biscoff, it was beautiful.

Not even greeted as we went in despite the place being empty. Served by a pair of miserable young girls and some fella who collectively don’t really ‘get’ customer service. Personally, I like my ice cream with at least a smile, but unfortunately the hefty price tag didn’t come with one included. Messed up my girlfriend’s order twice and made her feel like the burden, only saw fit to apologise when she decided 15 mins was a bit too long to wait. If you’re thinking of making the trip: don’t. Stick with some Halo Top or Sidolli’s. Trust. That said, the Kinder Bueno flavour was legit, but I feel as if Kinder did most of the leg work on that one.

Its some of the best ice cream you can get bar none. Worth a visit alone just to sample some. Can take some away in a tub and freezer bag as well :D

A repeat visit here on holiday in the area and it has a good range of interesting flavour ice creams and desserts. It's always popular, well known in the area and often with queues out of the door. We enjoyed our ice creams... however it was late afternoon on a very hot day when we visited and there were LOTS of flies in the seating area of the cafe.

Always have an amazing range of ice creams, the shop is always beautifully clean and the staff are always pleasant. We tried the favo waffles and whilst a little pricey they were freshly made and absolutely delicious.

We came to visit with 5 kids and 6 adults and the queue was back to the door but they got through it in good time so it was only a few minutes wait!

What a great find after a long day's walk. The ice cream is freshly made on site and the range of flavours available is impressive. You can also choose the size and flavour of your cone, which is what the prices of ice creams are based on. There is a seating area within the parlour, offering hot and cold drinks along side your ice cream choice, or you can simply take away. As well as ice cream cones a menu offers a wide range of other ice cream dishes if you really want to indulge! Reasonably priced and well worth a visit.

The ice cream was nice and they have a large selection of cones and ice cream flavors. I was disappointed that they didn't have many of the flavors listed on their website, didn't have as many unusual flavors as I had hoped and an even smaller selection in the prepacked tubs. The others in the queue were disappointed by the lack of flavors too so maybe I just visited at the wrong time. It was a nice, average ice cream shop, I was just expecting more.

Great choice - and admittedly I can only comment on the flavours that we tried, but they were all good. The dipped cones with sprinkles were a favourite too.

Called in after our awful visit in March where we had hair in our ice cream and the young girl tried taking it out and given my husband the ice cream,it was great too see the girls had nets on their hair,only down side is they’re not very happy in their jobs a smile or even a recommendation of ice cream would be nice,,then you have the older lady watching over them and the same no smile no interaction with the customers,,ice cream was lovely as usual

We stopped here on the way to Cardiff and it was so good we popped in again in the way home a week later. It is simply the best ice cream we have ever tasted.

I grew up in Brecon and remember the Dairy when it was still a shop.

Good selection of different ice cream . We tried about 6 different flavours from Snowballs and Christmas pudding to Honeycomb and honey all thoroughly enjoyable and tasty.

Best ice cream I had in the UK. Creamy, with full of flavour, like at the ice cream parlour in the summer on the continent, good portion size, shame that the choice wasn't as good as I hoped from the photos, but hey, we went in October and there were still at least ten flavours to choose from. They also sell their ice cream in container, at a reasonable price. The place also has a continental confectionery bakery feel to it and the coffee is Segafredo :0). Definitely worth the visit and I will be back for more.

I've travelled fairly extensively, and I can honestly say this is the best ice cream shop I've visited by far. There's a broad selection of flavours and the presentation of the cakes is fantastic.

Amazing creamy ice cream. If you're in Brecon or nearby I would recommend this place even on a wet day.

Had found a leaflet about this place so we made sure that we crossed over the river in Brecon to find it. Only a short walk from the town centre - so easy to find. The choice of ice creams and cones meant that we took 10 minutes to decide! If you wanted you could ask for a small sample to try before making that all important decision. Both husband and I agreed it was delicious ice cream and really enjoyed our choices.

Absolute ice cream heaven!! So many different choices. We've been multiple times and each choice has surpassed the previous one. It would easily be a 5 star review if it wasn't for the miserable sour faced staff and their grumpy attitudes. Such a shame.

New to the area and we're out exploring. Stopped by here and enjoyed a salted caramel icecream. Wife enjoyed the mango yoghurt. Great service and great icecream. We'll be back

When we go to Brecon on the way back home, we have a sort of pilgramage Brecon Ice Cream Bar, we have been doing this for years, and the icecream never fails to amaze me, The icecream and flavours never ever dwindle, take a cool bag with you and put the icecream in it and take the icecream home, enjoy it in front of the tele with the family

This is a great ice cream place....they make all their own ice creams with delicious flavours. They have all the usual and lots of unusual flavours. The ones that caught my fancy were golden syrup and Maltesers. I also think I'll give gooseberry a go. They also sell ice cream cakes...we bought a lemon meringue one....wow!!!!

Indulged on Monday 24th April whilst in Brecon on a canal holiday with my wife, son and his girlfriend.My son found this ice cream parlour on Trip Advisor- and what a find! If you love ice cream you will be in heaven here! A huge selection of ice creams to either take away or, as we did eat in. All four of us struggled to choose what to have and we all thoroughly enjoyed our deserts. I wish I lived closer!

A nice drive through the Beacons , and make our way to the Ice cream parlour. Many flavours to choose from . Desserts , ice cream cones and tubs of what ever flavour is there . Birthday cakes and containers also to take away .A lovely friendly atmosphere, always. We have been many times , and have always been served with a smile .

The ice cream from this place is amazing .I had a 3 scoop tub with coconut, Ferrero rocher and pistachio which are all my favourites but they had loads of different flavours, mine cost £ 5 which could be a bit expensive if you have a few children withbyou but you could have a single scoop which is a lot cheaper. It was really busy ehen we went snd I think any time the sun is shining it will be really busy .The only reason I didn't give it a five rating is because there aren't really enough seats

This is a must on a visit to Brecon Their home made ice creams are gorgeous and hey have a fantastic range . Try to raspberry pavlova - its lovely

Amazing choice of fresh home made ice-cream. Such a choice they also sell ice cream you can take home and wonderful ice cream cakes. Their Christmas collection can not be missed order early and try it.

My daughter and I love this place because it's the only place we've ever found that we can go into and have a choice of sorbets. Soooo exciting when you're on a dairy free diet and everyone else is munching ice cream. We make a point of visiting their stand at Caerphilly Big Cheese and the RHS Flower Show, as well as the shop if we are ever in Brecon. And the sorbets are really lovely too.

Stopped by for an ice cream whilst on a day trip, it was fantastic, great range of flavours and a huge selection of cones, the lemon cheesecake was delicious!
