Llanerch Vineyard Restaurant in The Vale of Glamorgan

My mum paid in full for gift vouchers for us in December 2022. Sadly we were not able to use them in 2023 as my Dad was very unwell so I had to spend most weekends travelling to look after him. I contacted them before the voucher expired and they agreed to extend the vouchers by three months, which I had presumed to be the end of March (they did not clarify so it was a little unclear). Fast forward to 19th March I had finally a window to go and I cleared diaries and arranged childcare, only to be told vouchers had expired and there were not willing to honour them. Very unkind and petty and terrible customer service. Also there is no way of talking to anyone, just answer phone and abrupt 'computer says no' emails. Basically they have our money and I have received nothing in return despite trying. I run a small business and would never treat customers like this. Very disappointed.

Just an internet irritation other than that great room with best bed ever.

Took my husband for afternoon tea for his birthday. The whole experience was lovely “lush” as they say here in Wales. The food was delicious and as an extra treat, they brought my husband out a cup cake with a candle and ‘happy birthday’ written in chocolate. Would definitely recommend

We visited the restaurant today for high tea. Very pleased with the food and was given boxes to take home the cakes we hadn't eaten . Also we were able to take our dog.

We visited for Sunday lunch. The food was first class and the service was excellent. The restaurant has a lovely feel to it with great views. It was also good value for such high quality food. It was great to be able to try all their wines by the glass.

We ended up here purely by chance. We tried another venue which was fully booked and ghe staff were quite rude, so I did a quick Google search and spotted this little gem 💎. Lovely drive, ample of parking, beautiful ground and seating areas. Discovered up until recently they only prodand sold their wine on site but they now sell online. Staff were very polite and professional, food was cooked to perfection. My partner is a chef and if he's impressed it says something. Tried 2 different wines and very enjoyable. If you want a lovely experience look no further.

Booked afternoon tea in the garden room for 3 of us as an early Mother’s Day gift. The staff and service were great and the food was fantastic. Great quality and dietary requirements were no problem. The 5th star was dropped because of the Garden room. I was expecting a “tea room” setting with tables and 4 loose chairs. Instead the layout is a line of fixed tables with fixed benches either side, which left us feeling cramped with little room to move. Tables were also a bit too high for comfort. Unfortunately the worst aspect was the sun streaming in. While it was nice to have the sun out, it got very hot due to lack of ventilation and no blinds/sun filters on the huge glass windows. Would I return? Yes for the food and service but only on a dull day or if I could have a table in the main restaurant or bar area.

Birthday lunch with family, service was amazing . Grandad had a issue which ended up with salt all over his food and the waiter made him feel like it wasn’t an issue to replace the food. I must say it was really nice to see them go above and beyond to help him without us even asking. The best restaurant staff I’ve ever seen, really kind and professional. Also fantastic chefs !!! Had Lunch for a special Birthday. Food was excellent for the money, the restaurant is nicely appointed with views over the Vineyard. Our last fine dining experience was Limewood in the new forest and I would say if you normalised the meals £ for £ the whole experience is equal to Limewood. Yet it's less than half the price. We will be back.

Here is a list of nice things it has: rooms, bar, restaurant, grounds. AND it was dog friendly, which was nice as the grounds are lovely. There's a little lake and it's all just VERY, VERY PLEASANT. The fact it's about 45 centimetres off the M4 is also very handy. So in short, go there. It's VERY NICE.

I was very excited to visit for Sunday lunch as I had heard many good things. Positive: the wine and dessert were delicious Negative: The soup was bland, had to ask for butter and salt. The Sunday lunch was terrible, the gravy was watery and tasteless and the carrots were raw not just al-dente. The pork was not well cooked and almost pure fat. I love belly pork but this was not nice. I was dining with a gluten free friend and was given the same gravy as her do maybe I was given gluten free gravy? Either was it was a big disappointment.

Stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast. What a stunning location! The hotel was a great mix of old and new. Our room and the view was spectacular. The attention to detail was second to none. Wonderful food and excellent service. We will be back

Amazing service, location, atmosphere and food was spot on! We visited on a Sunday which only offers the Sunday roast dinner options. The lamb dinner was perfectly cooked. I had beef dish to start which was very nice. Desert was nutella cheesecake which was out of this world. The wine was delicious too! Views from restaurant overlooking vineyard was stunning. Highly recommend dry white Cariad wine which will cost you £30 a bottle

Nice venue but ridiculous price of £30 per person for a coffee, 4 fingers sandwiches, a scone, 3 small cakes, a sausage roll, mini quiche and 2 mini vol au vans... Excuse spelling 😂 waitress added £6 optional service charge automatically, makes it hard to refuse. Not a great experience in view of the cost

Ate at the restaurant on a Saturday evening as a party of 8. Service was excellent with the waiting staff being very attentive and professional. Meal was slightly let down by the attention to detail with the food. The sides served alongside the beef shin were lukewarm and the shin itself was particularly fatty on one of the meals. One of the other shin dishes had a particularly large piece of plastic in the meat. This was raised with the waiting staff who assured us they would let the kitchen know. No discount was offered on the meal in spite of the choking hazard.

Very overpriced for the quality of the food. However they did waver the price of the meal for one of our party who’s steak was inedible. Won’t be rushing back

Wonderful Sunday lunch with a view. The Cariad dry white wine was delightful and the Caramel Millionaire desert was divine. We sat in the dog friendly area of the restaurant with our dog and did not feel sidelined at all. Would recommend and will return.

Went for afternoon tea with friends mid afternoon, £30 pp for traditional afternoon tea and it was so worth it! Selection of desserts was plentiful, sandwiches were fresh, beautiful fillings and gorgeous bread. Scones were lovely. They were made aware of my friends berry allergy and ensured this was adhered to. Staff were so accommodating, friendly and knowledgable, checked our food was ok, asked if we wanted more hot water for our tea etc. gorgeous setting, beautiful decor inside. Overall one of the best afternoon teas I have been too! - also loved the fact it came with hot savouries as well as the sandwhiches! I’ll be back!

I’m so gutted that I have to write this review, because we usually love the vineyard. However, on this occasion the food was terrible. We have eaten here many times and on reflection the food can be a little bit or miss - mainly because it’s usually over seasoned and sometimes the flavours are too much. But, saying that we have had some very good meals over the past few years here. However we recently had Sunday lunch (which we have had once before) and this time it was truly awful. We got off to a bad start as we were seated in the garden room which is not the best part of the restaurant - usually the place they put big groups or people with children. We usually opt for the main restaurant which is much much better in terms of ambience and atmosphere, but must have omitted to make the correct selection on booking. Then my husband didn’t enjoy the salmon starter - it was well presented but the large portion of salmon, combined with the beetroot flavours didn’t seem to work for him (personal taste but worth mentioning in case anyone wanted to try the salmon) The main course was where it went rapidly down hill - it was disgusting. The worst roast dinner we have eaten to date. The beef was lacking flavour, the sides were all beige with no flavour (no green veg at all) and the veg was all either swimming in grease or oil, or a strange white sauce that had no taste at all! But the gravy was the real low point … it was grim…. It just tasted like cooking fat, and had a layer of fat that was visible on top. No flavour at all but oil/ fat. Not even salt or pepper had been used to flavour any of veg, meat or gravy. We were super hungry, but couldn’t stomach it and left most of the food on our plates, still hungry and £110 worse off. Our worst meal in many years in ANY restaurant. Sadly not what we expect from this restaurant or for the price point. Maybe they have changed the chef recently… but whatever it was they need to address it. Such a shame…. Please, please address to is as it can’t only be us who feel the food has gone downhill!

Beautiful fresh afternoon tea served by a pleasant waitress . Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely return .Tasty sandwiches and an excellent selection . Yummy Camembert and chilli tartlet . Everything was freshly made . Excellent and would recommend.

18th Feb 2023 We found the Lannerch by recommendation from someone at the Vale hotel resort. They were not wrong and we were not disappointed. The service was fantastic, lovely staff! The food was gorgeous. Lots of choice! Husband said Amazing. Plenty of side options....
