Brought my dad for his birthday and the food was perfect, amazing service and so many choices. Great time had by all and the right vibe for the relaxing time we were looking for

Such a cracking little restaurant service top notch as well as the food it’s a massive win to have a Japanese restaurant in Leicester and this one doesn’t disappoint feels like you’re in Japan when you walk into the restaurant.The only negative I can say is it was cold sitting inside so we had to wear our coats to eat our meals that’s the only negative! Keep up the good work guys

Great food, great service and all at a reasonable price. The place is only small so I would recommend booking if their are several people going together. Good options for vegetarians, pescatarians and meat eaters. Food is delicious and usually served quite quickly.

Salmon Teriyaki is nice but a bit expensive

Very disappointed by the way me and my friend were treated at the end of the service after we had paid for the meal was very disappointed as the food was good felt like the matter should have been dealt with better than calling us out in front of the customers

Fabulous little Japanese/Korean restaurant with mouth watering food. Do not be deceived by the exterior thinking that this is a questionable place. As previous lovers of Yo! Which has gone so far down hill since 2020, I was desperate to find somewhere else in Leicester. Little Tokyo was one of our choices. The other being Phu in the Centre. I suggested we try here as it’s easier to part and probably more authentic. I loved the place and our visit. The staff were lovely and accommodating to every need. The food was beautiful and arrived freshly made and was so yummy! The Special Korean in pepper sauce along with the kimchi (cabbage) rice was a perfect match! The gyozas, California rolls and soups were also delicious. We’ll definitely be heading back in future for more. Thank you Little Tokyo ♥️

I go to this place nearly every time the people who work there are sooo friendly and my family all know their names ! The food is delicious i recommend the kimchi chicken soup with udon noodles if u like spicy, the miso soup, any bento box, the vegetable Katsu with sweet potatoes with it and the chicken katsu ,the avocado sushi, the sweet potato sushi as it comes, the prawn sushi and the chicken gyoza . Please go there it is he best restaurant i ever went to !!!

Food was good overall but very pricey for the portion size. Sashimi was nice but one thing I would recommend is to put the quantity of food on the menu because I was a bit taken aback to see only 3 pieces of takoyaki for £4++. Had a strange interaction with the server when I asked if they had any ricebowls with raw fish in them, and he quite rudely insinuated that I did not read the menu properly, flipped it and pointed at the Sashimi section of the menu, in which I replied that’s not what I was looking for. He was alright after that but it was quite off putting for the rest of our meal, did not feel comfortable asking for help. It’s a shame because it is a beautiful restaurant I did enjoy the sashimi but I would not come back. I think you are better off going to a different place in town that is cheaper overall.

I had came to little Tokyo because the owner from another drink company had requested me to try it out, so I did after so long. We was served really quickly, several customers inside the food wait wasn’t too long which is a good thing. Duck à la carte Pineapple no taste drench in water pulling all the natural pineapple juices Sweet and sour sauce is more like a Chinese plum sauce, mixed with dark soy sauce but it’s added extra extra sugar to it. Must eat with the rice Maki - Sushi rice itself not seasoned not even a little. You can taste the sushi rice was just boiled, could added some seasoning even a little compared to the sushi’s I’ve had in Leicester. Set A - curry was bland, I could make Japanese curry from the pre-made packets from the Asian supermarket store. It’s tasteless curry sauce. Lots of veggies in it tho but a random large mushroom that should have been sliced preferably which is deep fried, and mushrooms shouldn’t be deep fried as it’s a sponge. Both the soy sauce for the box menus are very very little. It was like the chef was on a budget I had to dip from my other sushi’s that came with the dip Set C - The chicken was really small it reminded me of a smaller size of the Lidls chicken thigh that was fried and sliced. Overall, the portion size isn’t great for the price, if it tasted really good the portion size and the price wouldn’t matter. However, the price of alcohol is great nice and nice selection and the waiting time to the customer service was great no issues just the food itself.

One of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to for a while in the UK. Service is great, staff are extremely friendly and very good with recommendations. We ordered the katsu curry and katsu donburi. Food came quickly and was flavourful and presented nicely. The price is reasonable considering the above and the general atmosphere of the restaurant. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

What a great late night spot! The service was amazing and very amicable and the food was very comforting. We ordered the chicken katsu, a udon noodle soup and takoyaki which were all very good. Very affordable and a great experience!

last time I visited Leicester must be 10+ years ago. I went there last month for work appointment. I walked pass there during lunch time. The restaurant was not busy may be just opened for the day. Staff are extremely friendly and introduced variety food to me.

I would have to rate Little Tokyo as average. I felt the sushi was OK Very simple, I was left feeling unsatisfied and my meal didn't really hit the spot. My friend and I stumbled upon this via Google whist we were craving sushi near where we were and that's how we came across this. I have to add the waiter catered for us and we were the last customers to be served, so for that thank you! However, from a price point of view I would say it is very pricey and is on the higher mark in terms of price but the establishment doesn't have that oomph to validate the pricing in accordance, compared to other establishments in Leicester. There are better restaurants in Leicester that offer the same cusisne that deliver value, reasonably priced and offer quality. Would I come back to Little Tokyo? A strong No.

We have been to Little Tokyo a few times (it’s been around for many years which is normally a good indicator of quality because not all businesses survive in Leicester!) and it’s fantastic. The staff are friendly and the service is great, the restaurant itself is clean and well decorated and comfortable and the food is excellent! There’s a wide ranging menu and they do lots of different things. The sushi is great and so is the ramen and gyoza. Thoroughly recommend this gem of a place :)

Food is delicious. Not very expensive. Nice ambiance for Valentine's day. Chicken teriyaki is something you should try here. Bottomless tea. Fried Rice portion is small, so If you love rice you might need to order two portions.

Best sushi you will eat. Hands down. Curtis rolls are fave thing I've ever eaten. Waiter always knows us in there and pretty much by now knows half our order before we Starr talking! Amazing food without a doubt!

I came here on the weekend and had a fabulous meal. I loved the atmosphere and decor. I arrived around half 1 in the afternoon and it was very quiet, me nad the friends I was with were the only ones in there at that time. Food wise, I opted for the tofu kastu curry which was delicious and I also had the yasai gyozas which were crisp to perfection! I was recommended here by a friend and I'm very glad that I came by. I would highly recommend this place too.

Always made to feel very welcome and the food is excellent. Interior was a little cold, but this was soon remedied with a portable heater.

First visit to little Tokyo First impressions were room seating very close together, you could literally put your hand on the next table. You could hear all the conversations. Food was poorly presented and expensive for what you got. The restaurant was dirty, used plates were stacked on one of the dinning tables in full view of dinners. Toilets were filthy with no proper hand washing facilities, when the chef walked out of the toilets and straight back to cooking…. It was time to leave! Not the best of experiences, would not revisit

Came here for my partner’s birthday, food was superb. We had plenty of starters and the ship of sushi for mains. Everything was fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend. Staff are really friendly too.

We visited on the 1st day Little Tokyo opened and have been coming back ever since. Food always excellent and the staff are very friendly and service very good. Staff also are very friendly to my young son Harley who always looks forward to going.

A small cosy restaurant- Authentic food, delicious flavours - attentive friendly service - would definitely recommend and would return again.

We ordered Kimuchi ramen soup, tonkontsu ramen, edamme and tuna nilgiri. Overall the food are delicious and worth to have it as price reasonable. Friendly too.

Little Tokyo is a tiny restaurant but it packs a huge punch. I went here for a fantastic date night, trying some gorgeous Japanese plum wine and eating fantastic food. 10/10 and I won a free gyoza pen too!

I visited Little Tokyo for the first time last night and the only bad part was wishing I hadn't been earlier! The sushi was amazing, the waitress was one of the friendliest I've ever met and it was great value for money. I will be back soon!

My partner and I returned for the third year for our anniversary meal. We were happy to see James again and he recognised us too, which was so sweet considering the number of people that come through his door! As always the food was exquisite and James is always on hand to offer recommendations and is always happy to accommodate for your preferences or needs. We absolutely can't fault this place.

There is a comfort in a place that remains as friendly and as good quality as the day it opened. And you'll find that comfort at Little Tokyo. A bit of the pricier side, but you are paying for quality food served quickly that tastes great. Far better than chain restaurants for authentic cuisine.

First time here; the food tastes amazing, really well prepared and very good quality (the chefs and serving staff are really welcoming and so hard working). Prices are great to.

Braunstone Gate, Leicester, molto vicini al centro e al Richard III Museum. Il locale è piccolo, accogliente, originale e molto colorato. Cucina a vista, odori deliziosi. Menù molto molto ampio, da sushi a sashimi, da soba a noodles, da manzo a pollo, maiale, verdure, pesce e zuppe di ogni tipo. Assolutamente da assaggiare! Personale molto simpatico e sicuramente accogliente.

Probably the longest standing Japanese place in Leicester. Food is very good and the service was attentive. Has a top selection cold bottled Japanese beers. A good place to take your time between small courses.

Easily the best Japanese food I have ever had in the UK. Very authentic, good quality food, friendly service.

So I'm 33 and had sushi from many a place since I discovered it at 16. Never have I had it so freshly prepared in such an amazing way. The food was astonishingly delicious, the sake went down like a dream and the owner was so so good even giving us free plum wine. I look forward to dining here again and deem it as a real treat for myself. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Fully changed my view on Japanese quisine for the better.

So it was my birthday and I was looking for somewhere a little special to go. I had been to Little Tokyo many years ago and always talked to my son glowingly about how it eclipsed chain Japanese style restaurants. I was hoping it was as good as I remembered especially as I took my son and a couple of our good friends. One was a Kimchi fan and the other a Japanese virgin. Just to clarify what I mean ... he hadn't sampled Japanese cuisine before 😀 The menu was very impressive ... so many choices and we could have chosen so many dishes. The virgin was totally stumped what to have. So we ordered some warm saki and prawn crackers whilst the waiter started to help us with our choices. He was so patient and happy to go through our options. Mr Kimchi had exactly that, beef kimchi. The other three of us had sushi/sashimi combination plates with plum wine to accompany it. The saki and the plum wine were great, the kimchi was very good indeed I am told but the sushi/sashimi was amazing. Again the waiter explained it all when he brought our orders and was happy again to return a little while later to answer a couple more questions. The whole experience was all I remembered and more. The food was delicious and so fresh, the customer service perfect. We left vowing to return soon, the Japanese virgin will be taking his daughter next time, my son has already picked out his next choice and Mr Kimchi will be joining us. I do love this place

Fantastic food especially the sushi. The staff were very attentive and professional but unfortunately the restaurant is very cold mainly due to the door being a normal residential upvc door. It does not close on its own so every new customer coming in ends up leaving the door ajar. Come on Little Tokyo, get some renovations done and you will be golden!

What a lovely little find! Better than Waggamamas on everyfront. Great selection of delicious Asian classics, cooked to order and prepared right infront of your eyes. Toilets could do with a spruce up. Food is top tier, good selection for vegetarians too.

Popped into Little Tokyo today with my kids, aged, lovely little place, welcoming, friendly staff and fresh food made to order. We had Moriawase (Combination) Combo, and the kids and us thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend the place, will be going back again. Thanks for a lovely experience.
