Remembered there was a cafe in little London & was pleased to see it still existed, although obviously reincarnated from a previous visit many many years ago! We only stopped for tea but were taken in by the cake selection 😋 Reasonably priced, nice atmosphere & service was excellent. We wished we’d come here for lunch as what was being served around us looked yummy!

I’ve been in a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed myself but I had to leave a review after I came in today exhausted post-run and was so well received. The woman served me couldn’t have been lovelier and I had the best apple juice I’ve ever tasted. All the food I’ve ever eaten here has been delicious and the atmosphere is always good.

Visited this charming venue with two friends. With no booking, 3 of us walked in and asked for Afternoon Tea at 1230. We were cordially invited to chose where we would like to sit and chose the conservatory. We were offered a range of sandwiches, scones and cakes, with tea or coffee. The food delivered to the table was well presented, scones were warm (thank you, that's how they should be served) and plentiful. No scrimping with the cream and jam also. A side dish of salad and another of tortillas meant our table was certainly full of food and we thought it was smashing. Staff were polite and friendly, going that extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed for a lovely dining experience. At £11.50 per person, the price was spot on for lunchtime out with friends. Thank you to all the staff who catered to our needs that day.

Saturday morning, nothing planned, newspapers bought, where to go? HERE! We had a cooked breakfast that was beautifully presented, which is not something you really expect, and absolutely delicious. Yum. What a way to start the weekend. The Husband says to mention the latte - usually he finds that he can slurp them down in seconds because they're lukewarm. These not, and they were excellent. We have been here for lunch - the menu offers all sorts of lovely sounding dishes but I'm afraid I go for the omelettes because they are incredibly fluffy and light. Excellent, obviously. Highly recommended.

Last time I came here it was Shepherd's Tea Rooms, which is probably 20+ years ago. Scary. I say 'opposition' as clearly I rarely come into Chichester on a Monday as my usual haunt, Common Grounds) see separate reviews) is closed on Mondays! Still the Little London Cafe, now in its 9th year of operation was just fine. A delicious plain chocolate flapjack. Combined with a good Americano. And air conditioned, but the door was open, so I guess it was turned off. Still beautifully shaded on a hot day. Hayling Seagoon

The reach of the menu is more contemporary than you might expect from the overall style, whilst the setting is a little less creature-comfortable than you might be hoping for in 2019. My buck-rarebit (egg on Welsh rarebit) featured an excellent cheese mixture, but I would have preferred the egg poached rather than fried. My 3 companions all seemed happy with their choices, with no qualification I was aware of. Ultra-susceptible as I am to the cold, I would have liked the temperature cranked up somewhat, though, again, those I was with were quite content.; and near-skeletal as I am these days I really needed a cushion for my back, the chairs being standard, elegant antique-shop design. But I could have asked for one, and didn't. Meanwhile my fellow-lunchers---well, you've guessed it! The place certainly deserves a recommendation.

Decor is bland, feels like a 1960's village hall in the conservatory. Service appeared slow as nobody had yet got food when we arrived. We asked how long before we would receive food as we had an appointment and they did ask kitchen to expedite order. It took 40 minutes from arrival to receiving food. Toasted sandwich was bland with very little filling(cheese, ham and tomato) served with a bit of lettuces with balsamic dressing and a few crisps. My friends omelette was also lacking in flavour(cheese and bacon) and the coleslaw had huge lumps of cabbage. Very disappointing and not somewhere I wish to visit again. Only chose here as I could use my Taste Card, should have gone elsewhere and paid full price.

This little gem of a cafe tucked away from all the modern outlets is a little oasis serving excellent snack lunches and main meals. The surroundings and atmosphere will take you back a few years, the staff are friendly, cheerful and efficient and all the customers are sitting around just enjoying a quiet chat over a good meal. There in a great choice of snacks plus a daily specials board. The bacon, brie and cranberry on granary toastie is the best to be had - it actually has an abundance of all three fillings. I tend to walk past the gorgeous cake display as they should be marked up as "naughty"!!!!!! The coffee is just as good as any high street chain Take a turn of the main streets you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Chichester is awash with restaurants and cafes of every type from the usual chains to independents. If you are coming to the city for the day head straight for Little London Cafe (just off East Street) for your lunch. You won't be disappointed. No tea bags or foil wrapped butter portions here. A fine selection of loose leaf teas is available and you get proper butter in a butter dish. This attention to quality is evident throughout the menu which always includes some excellent and tasty home-cooked hot dishes on the specials board. I am at a loss to know how other reviewers can fault the friendliness of the services. We have been regulars for years and never had less than a warm welcome.

I used to be a regular here. Two of my daughters worked here as "Saturday girls" and it was always good quality food, tea and service. Today I went for tea and cake , for the first time in several months. The lady serving was extremely unwelcoming - I actually felt that I ought to leave (and now wish I had). She was rude on more than occasion and service was poor. As another customer was leaving, she turned to me and said "she is so rude". I will spare the details of all my complaints but this was so disappointing. She needs a significant amount of training or needs to recognise that this job is not for her....oh..and she cannot make tea. You used to get a good strength with hot water to top up. She put in one spoon of tea - no wonder it was like water. Cake was a bit dry but I can cope with that...if the service is good.

Having been around the rather excellent Christmas market we needed a 'restful sit' we first went to the 'Real Food' place that looked quite new, sitting down at the window seat I was appalled to find the table sticky with grease about the same time R came over and said a scone was £4.00! The two combined sent us scuttling off... shocking place! It was then I remembered LLC just around the corner. How pleased are we that we changed horses! LLC is a delightful place. Old fashioned charming surroundings, Met with cheerful and understanding staff as I flitted from one table to another while R was bemused, but I just wanted the table by a window. The breakfast menu offered a good range of options and for a change R went for a 'lighter option' than a full English. Our tea was delivered in good time, real tea, with a strainer and real milk (Hate that UHT stuff or HRT as mum calls it!) Delightful. Not a tea bag in sight. Our food arrived in double quick time, which was fantastic. Now sometimes this means 'microwaved' but not here! This was freshly cooked - piping hot food. R had opted for Poached Eggs on Granary toast and I had the Eggs Benedict. The eggs were as fresh as could be and all poached to perfection. R remarked how wonderful the toast was and how buttery it was. And it really was just how toast should be, butter soaking in, hot and 'proper toast'. The ham on my EB was really tasty and good thick slices, no wafer thin here! (Bit like me I guess)We did not feel rushed even though it was really busy and the place was filling up fast. All the food we saw served looked tempting, drinks served to all in good time and around us everyone looked relaxed and comfortable Looking at the menu I can see many things we would like to try and as R said, this will not be our 'go to place' in Chichester. Forget the sticky, dirty tables, the scone that costs more than you can understand in 'the place' over the road, trot across and down the lane to LLC. Spotless tables, brilliant staff, hot food - in fact more 'real' and wholesome than the other place. Reasonable price, great food and proper tea await you in LLC. It looks as if it fills up fast so go early, they even have decent reading material! Thanks LLC, for the food and the peaceful rest from the shopping.... See you on our next trip to Chi-chester... as we call it!

I booked a table for lunch at the Little London Café a couple of weeks ago but on arrival today we weren't expected. We were told to find a table in the "conservatory" at the back of the building which turned out to have a great view of the dustbins. We were eventually moved to another table, thank God. Meanwhile I asked the manager about the fixed price menu which is advertised on the café's website. I was told that the website is now out-of-date and no time had been found to update it. Therefore there was no fixed priced menu available. The waitress who looked after us was very pleasant and did her best, but the place was filled to capacity and I think she struggled. My lunch, a club sandwich, was OK if a little dry. I think my friend's jacket potato with smoked salmon was all right although she didn't finish it. My glass of wine was fine as was a cup of coffee.I won't return to the Little London as I find it inexcusable to ignore a confirmed reservation, and surely time can be found to update their website. I suggest you try somewhere else. If you are determined to eat here, booking for lunch is advisable although you may find, as we did, that your booking has been ignored.

On picking two dishes we then got told both had run out....in frustration we got up and left. Suggest they 1. Get the staffing right for busy periods, and 2. Get enough food in to meet demand Will give this place a wide berth in future....a pity because last time apparently it was quite good.

Food: I've had lunch here just the once and it was very enjoyable. Liver, bacon and mash with vegetables and gravy, served piping hot. It was satisfying although the liver was a tad dry. I had expected the liver and bacon to be fried but it wasn't, this is more my fault for not checking first but it would have been helpful if they had given some clue first. Fried liver is delicious, the liver here was just OK. The rest of the menu was mostly old fashioned English fare, a little pricey but not overly so (my lunch was £7.95). There is the option of brunch. Their range of cakes here is wonderful, my favourite was the apricot slice. Service: Friendly and helpful enough, non-intrusive. Environment and atmosphere: The place was nice enough, clean with wood furniture. There are two rooms at the back that one can eat in, one with tablecloths and one without. I don't know what the difference is apart from that. As for atmosphere, it was very quiet but then it was a late lunch. Perhaps everything livens up in the evening?

Andy's Little London cafe is brilliant, either for brunch, lunch or after-noon tea.The atmosphere is buzzy, and I like the continental touch of daily newspapers to read. The food is very good, and reasonably priced, and the staff are friendly and smiley.Come & visit - you won't be disappointed!

We were in need of tea and although it had officially closed the manager let us in and served us very happily. There was a very good range of cakes and the tea was of excellent quality all at a very good price. It is homely with home cooking - definitely worth a visit.

Fist visit for a few years and obviously changed hands. Not a change for the better, but different. That said, waitress was wonderful, polite, helpful. Still serving team made from leaves yippee, good to see. Food we had was tasty and well presented. Changed? yes, everything changes over time. Still the place I make for when in Chichester, all my best wishes for continuing success.

I called in here with my son for hot chocolate each, it was near the end of the day and had a nice evening atmosphere, friendly staff and good hot chocolate. I will call again.

I visited this traditional English tearoom with my daughter for lunch, the sandwiches and drinks were excellent along with the service. The coffee was very good. As neither of us were very hungary they let us share the sandwich on two plates yet still gave us two salads. I've visted this restaurant off and on since 1986 and it is still pretty much the same good quality.

Good coffee and friendly service and the naughties looked great but I resisted! Never seems too busy and as it is set back from the main thoroughfare it is a little haven.

I often come here for lunch whenever I'm in Chichester as I like the place a lot. It's a nice place that does amongst other things a very good range of rarebits, with their traditional Welsh rarebit being lovely, and served with a great homemade tomato chutney. In addition, their tea is always done properly, i.e. with loose-leaf tea and with a tea strainer - so rare these days but you really do notice the difference, a much better cup of tea here than anywhere else in Chichester that I've tried. The café is clearly clean and well-looked after, although the extension area out the back with the glass roof can be rather dark and glum if it's an overcast day.The location of the café is a off East Street and perhaps as a result does not get quite the number of customers that it deserves. Overall, this place is a lovely place for a lunch or afternoon tea.

We came at around 4-4.30ish and the girl out front obviously wanted to go home, so she should have just told us they were closing. The food was rushed and watery (I had pasta) and the fishcakes were incredibly salty. It's a shame because the property's so lovely but the food was awful.

Cafe near the centre of Chichester, serving both lunches and evening meals. Friendly service with a clean and bright interior but not particularly cosy. The lunch menu had a reasonable range of choice, and looked home-cooked, but I didn't feel it was particularly tasty. The vegetables and side salad could have been more interesting (no butter or seasoning on the potatoes) and the quiche was a little runny and rather bland. The tea and cake were standard fare, but better done and so better value for money.A nice place, but don't expect anything too special from the food.

Little London serves quality food at reasonable prices, and the wine was excellent.A brilliant place - and I recommend it unreservedly, as the whole experience was faultless, and there aren't many places one can say that about!

Fast becoming one of my favourite places to eat in Chichester. Main menu is complemented by specials board, and they do a variety of speciality teas. Would strongl recommend.

My husband and I made straight for this lovely tea room when we visited Chichester today for the first time in 6 years. It was immediately obvious that the place had changed hands. A very nice girl was serving and she said it was sold two years ago (2008) and it became obvious that things had not changed for the better. When we used to go there were 3 ladies serving and you were met by a stack of home-made scones to name just one of the delights. We used to go regularly before we moved away and the place was always full - not so today. My coffee was full of grounds whilst being weak at the same time and the scones, which were now under cling film in a refrigerated cabinet, were ghastly. The atmosphere was melancholy and miserable. We shall not be going again.

An award wining tea rooms apparently and I'd say it's ok, but not my favourite by far.
