One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. Really fantastic

Hands down the best pizza I've ever eaten not just in St Andrews, but possibly from any takeaway ever. Pizza is simple really, three main things, dough, sauce, toppings. All three of these were above and beyond. The dough you can tell is homemade recipe, sourdough which enhances flavour and also gives it a far superior crust. The sauce had a spicy kick to it but a deep flavour, almost Bolognese/Ragu like. Whatever it is you can tell it's not just some tomato puree squeezed outta tube and lazily brushed around the base. The pepperoni was cooked properly so obviously using a proper pizza oven, nothing worse than undercooked pepperoni that doesn't have that slight crunch to it. Also, allows it to release it's oil which increases flavour. The chicken and steak took the cake though, good, proper bits of chicken and the chunks of steak were melt in the mouth. Can't recommend enough, keep up all the good work guys will need to pop in with the missus for a proper meal one time.

Amazing food, can not fault the food at all. Staff were good too, reason for the 3 star is it was very bust and staff were clearly not able to keep up. Service took ages as well as waiting on drinks, condiments ect.

First time back after a while & appreciate costs have gone up, but the scale of increase in prices was a surprise. Food was always great, so wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. Sadly the service was very inattentive & slow on a quiet night. A long list of cocktails, but no non-alcoholic ones at all seemed a missed trick too. Still decent, but no longer a standout & the service needs to match the prices.

Arrived with 4 friends 6 minutes prior to opening. Turned away as told wouldn't be safe to allow us to sit ! Said just mopped the floor. Floor was dry. To our benefit we found a lovely resturant around the corner with fabulous service. 👌 Little Italy lost out on a good amount of money as we had lunch and 2 bottles of wine and cocktails.

Nice italian atmosphere restaurant with good food. The portions were large, which makes up for the what high prices. The bread given as a complementary pre-starter was fresh and delicious with a nice olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip or pesto dip. We had a focaccia for starter, and the mains pasta, pizza & an order of fish was delicious and of good size. We had a good espresso for desert which was topped of with a complementary shot of limoncello. Very nice. The service was professional. We had a good time even though the prices for both food and wine were somewhat steap, I didn’t mind as the food was good with nice service.

Why Little Italy is not higher up the rankings is beyond me. Dined here on Saturday 11th November. The restaurant was busy so I was glad that we had booked. The only downside was that the tables are close together, not a huge amount of space to get in & out. However that should not detract from the quality. The Bruschetta Italiana to start was superb, fresh, tasty and a good size. Certainly enough to share. Mains included the Lasagna (great portion, piping hot and very tasty), Pizza and Seafood spaghetti. All to a very high standard and great value for money. Will definitely return when in St Andrews.

Nice restaurant, good food, friendly staff. Would have given a 5 star rating but the prices were a bit high. £7 for a small bottle of unknown Italian lager is a bit extreme.

Firstly we arrived 7 minutes early for our booked table to be told they weren’t open yet. They showed us to our seat but we had to wait the 7 minutes before someone came over to the table. We were given two menus lunch menu and the a la carte. The lunch menu said one or two courses. We ordered mains only and took desserts off the a la carte thinking that we be included in the lunch menu but it wasn’t. The main courses were big and we couldn’t finish them. The wine we ordered was £10/12 for a large glass of wine, 175ml. Not very big. Our dessert was ice cream with expresso and a shot of amaretto cost £12 The total bill for two people was £90! For lunch! Will not being going back again

Waitresses were disinterested students putting in their time and going through the motions. Waited 45 minutes before they took our order. We asked for bread for the table three times but it never came. Food was very good. Pasta portions are too big. I lived in Italy for 7 years and can say that the food is authentic but too large a portion. No offer of grappa or limoncello come si deva in Italia. Very expensive. Two people. One starter and one pasta course each. Water for the table. No alcohol. £88.

Having visited Little Italy several times when we were living in Fife, we always enjoyed the food. On our return as tourists this year, I was alarmed to find such highly inflated prices, for nice but fairly average food. £23 for a pizza, really? The service was below average, given that two tables which arrived after us were served well before us. Sadly, this will have been our last visit.

Don’t buy a gift voucher for Little Italy!!!! Had been given one as a lovely birthday present only to find you couldn’t use it against the set 2 course lunch menu so had to buy off main menu which for lunch is way over priced. . When you pay £50 for a voucher why is this not treated like cash to be used against anything… Also £10 for a 125ml glass of Chianti is steep. Food whilst nice , not worth it.

The food was very tasty, but quite pricey. To me it seems a bit inhospitable to apply an extra charge if you would only have a starter as a main, even though we ordered some other side dishes for the table. I also ordered a small wine but was charged a large. It all felt a bit too much money oriented.

The food and atmosphere were good but it was terrible value for money. I understand that all prices are increasing with inflation, but £22 for 5 pieces of spinach and ricotta ravioli is shocking. I've been going to this restaurant for over 10 years but the prices do not reflect the portion sizes. I won't be going back.

The lovely restaurant looks low key from the alley but is full of energy inside. We did not have a reservation but were lucky to be seated at the seats near the bar. The decor is full of taste, same as the food! The service was tentative. Will definitely come back again.

A week long golf trip started with dinner at this place. We came back 2 more times that week. The food and service is fantastic. I would highly recommend. Do make a reservation, its reputation is well deserved.

Family favourite great for celebrations or post golf

Delicious food! We were lucky enough to arrive just as someone didn't show up for their reservation. The best pasta carbonara I've ever had. The service, atmosphere and food were outstanding.

First class food and wine with excellent service . Have been to St Andrews many times , but this is our first visit to Little Italy. We will definitely go back. There are cheaper places to eat , but this is easily the best I know in the area . Very relaxing and well worth a visit .

We stopped here for a lovely lunch, the service was exceptional and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a starter to share, mains were lasagne (amazing), Rob had chicken with salmon and prawns and he said that was a combo he hadn’t had before - thoroughly w joyed it. The atmosphere, the food, the smells, the bread and the staff, where to begin. For starters the atmosphere was incredible, you really felt as if you were in Italy. On Tuesday I called three times to book a place for Thursday dinner, the first caller had a bad signal. When the booking was made the lady said would 6.30 be suitable, I said OK and then the phone was end. When we came to the restaurant on Thursday we were told there was no booking which was ridiculous and nothing was done about it. Very surprisingly bad experience.

The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. They were the only restaurant (as far as we could tell) that was open for dinner past 9 pm. They were very welcoming even though we arrived late.

Four very tired golfers showed up at closing, we were seated, bread was served and drinks showed up within a few minutes. Food was ordered promptly and was delivered quickly as well, and was fantastic, very authentic. Can't thank the staff and owner enough! Went here with 2 friends on 26th after being disappointed elsewhere. It was busy and there was a 2 hour wait for a table inside. So the waiter offered us a table outside . We took it and there was a heater. The service was perfect. The food and wine, choice aplenty, was beautiful. Cody was very attentive, welcoming and polite. Strongly recommend this restaurant and it is usually the only place open late in a town that stopped feeding folk very early!
