Little Italy in Highland

Was so nice and food was amassing, and for the first time in a long time did not feel like the waiter was harassing me every 10mins. Food was wonderful, i had sea food pasta sorry do not know the name, cheese cake for dessert and meat selection for starter was all fantastic.

We were in Inverness centre and decided to go for lunch to this restaurant. I had the fruits de made it was delicious and full of flavour. My hubby and sister had the lasagna and my mum had the chicken skewers and my daughter had the pasta bolognese. All delicious and well presented. The staff and service were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us! Thank you x

We ordered pizza, garlic bread, cheesy mushrooms, and tortellini. They were obviously described in more fancy terms on the menu but that was the basic gist. Food arrived quickly and was hot. The pizza was not cut yet the garlic bread was. How strange. We were unsure if it was an oversight or a wider social experiment? Could just be the way they do things. Anyways that caused all kinds of logistical challenges for a couple who were staying for a wedding in a hotel (one of the permitted reasons to travel). We did ask L.I for utensils in the notes. Either this request was ignored or they take a view that it’s a jungle out there and if you don’t happen to have utensils well (expletive) that Guy. As my companion ripped and tore his pizza cursing the psychopath who’d put him in that feral position I tucked into the mushrooms. Without utensils the whole meal was a challenge to eat but if Joanna Lumley can make shoes out of her bra improvising had to be attempted. I managed to make a spoon(ish) from the lid and as I say the ‘shrooms were really delicious. Actually. Devine. Felt like Remy the rat in the montage scene in Pixar’s Ratatouille movie when he pairs mushrooms and cheese. No joke. Give them a try folks. Then we tackled the tortellini. Hard. Overcooked. Bland. Tasteless. Also suspect they were a frozen fare. Only good thing about that dish was the side salad. Such a shame. The garlic bread. Cut into sections at least (hallelujah) but was so dry we had one slice and gave up. Think dull oven food when you’re waiting for payday to arrive (coulda made better at home). That said L.I for sit down meals has been excellent in the past. For takeaway I think we’d say leave it rather than take it in future. Didn’t hit the Mark and overpriced for what was a (‘shrooms aside) forgettable meal.

From the moment I phoned to book, I had a good feeling. The ambience, the service, the wine and not least the food were all you should expect. Good selection of dishes, Gnocchi starter almost prevented me from enjoying the main course, but didn't. Well done, we will be back.

We visited Little Italy in Inverness after reading the outstanding Tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. Despite the partial lockdown the restaurant was fully open with well-spaced tables. Very good menu choices, and we struck gold. The Polla al Crema was simply outstanding, but before that we had the garlic bread, and it was simply the best we have ever had, anywhere in the World. The meal was so good that we came back 3 days later, and again the day after.We cannot praise the staff and the chefs enough. A simply out-of-this-world experience, and the very best Italian food ever, and bvery good house wines.

The starters were immense and in fact they outshone the main courses that we ahd, it's a very nice and pleasantly run restaurant, thoroughly recommend this restaurant

Had never come across this small restaurant before. Great food and seafood very fresh. Large portions and great wine. Will be back.

This was our third visit and each time the food has been excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. We'll be back soon.

If you are going to rely on 'rustic charm' the food needs and service has to be excellent. Dont get me wrong, the food was ok, but over priced for the quality. This restaurant used to be fantastic but I think the new owners are flying on the coattails of a previous reputation. Mediocre overpriced food.

Wow, wow, wow! Found out that the guys at Little Italy are doing delivery so thought we would give them a try. Easy to order from menu and food delivered within 30minutes! Everything arrived piping hot, perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. I had the linguine with prawns and chorizo whilst my wife had the Penne Al Pesto along with side salad, fries, garlic bread and Involtini. I cannot praise them highly enough, definite 5stars and a definite regular addition to our takeaway treats.

Mi novio y yo visitamos Little Italy para cenar y no nos decepcionó.Optamos por el Salmón Carbonara y la Parpadelle con champiñones, jamón en salsa de crema y lo disfrutamos hasta el último momento.Las comidas tenían un precio decente, considerando que Inverness no es barato para salir a comer.Es un restaurante pequeño, pero el camarero esperaba todas las mesas él mismo e hizo un gran trabajo (una mesa incluso se quejó de que los calentadores eran demasiado fuertes, por lo que el camarero encontró tiempo para reorganizar las mesas y empujarlas más lejos de los calentadores).Disfrutamos de nuestra cena, si visitamos Inverness nuevamente, regresaremos :)

Llegamos un viernes por la noche sin reserva y amablemente nos apretujaron. La comida y la bebida son absolutamente excelentes. Comido en muchos italianos en el Reino Unido e Italia. Las personas que se quejan de un camarero grosero no estoy de acuerdo, el caballero es un hablante nativo italiano, así que háblale en su lengua materna o ¡cállate! !

Tuve una visita rápida a Inverness para escapar del trauma de los últimos meses de encierro. Disfrutando inmensamente de la zona, decidimos comer italiano y leyendo críticas decidimos probar este restaurante. Hicimos una reserva para evitar una visita inútil.Cuando llegamos, un caballero muy brusco nos llevó a nuestra mesa y nos dijo en términos inequívocos que tendríamos que estar fuera de la mesa a las 8. 00 pm. Eso nos dio una hora y cuarto para comer. Nos hicieron sentir que nos estaba haciendo un favor.En un aspecto técnico, no se nos pidió que completáramos un cuestionario de seguimiento y rastreo al ingresar.Hay un menú muy limitado que realmente no cumplió con nuestras expectativas de sabrosa cocina italiana. Opté por un plato de cerdo que en realidad equivalía a dos pequeños trozos de cerdo duro sin cortar en una salsa blanda con patatas fritas congeladas insípidas. El resto de nuestro grupo optó por platos de pasta que estaban húmedos, sin sabor y, obviamente, habían sido cocinados en el microondas.En general, sentí que este establecimiento desagradable y mal administrado servía comida cara bastante desagradable en lo que solo puedo describir como una experiencia desagradable. Ciertamente no lo recomendaría.

Making the most of this offer we have wanted to try Little Italy for a long time as lovers of italian food and weren't disappointed. Menu choices great I went for a pizza after brushetta starter which both were very good . My daughter went for carbonara again very good . The restaurant is small nothing can be done about that but they have plastic screens between tables and doing their best in difficult circumstances. Very happy will definitely go back

After a day travelling, this was the perfect restaurant for us. We asked for olives and bread when we arrived and it was quickly bought to our table. We weren’t disappointed with our authentic, freshly cooked main meals. A good selection of wine too.We ate early on, so the white plastic dividers hung between each table weren’t an issue for us, but can imagine if busy, it might feel a bit close to other diners. Overall, would recommend.

We checked in late afternoon as a family of 5. The food was tasty and served quickly and staff was friendly and helpful. The place was initially empty, but soon enough other guests have arrived. Though the owners try hard to stick to COVID regulations, the screens set between tables didn't really separate us from nearby diners, and the minimal distance between tables in this relatively small place made us feel uncomfortable and finish our meal quickly.

I thought this was an average Italian restaurant and was a little disappointed. The staff were friendly enough, but the quality of the food really wasn’t great. This restaurant may benefit from being the only independent Italian in the town I think. Overall not a bad place, but I wouldn’t be rushing back.

Tasty food served promptly. Nothing exceptional though . Good options for vegetarians . Prices reasonable .

Being pretty limited for choice we had high Hope's for this authentic Italian restaurant. However the waiter was very abrupt, miserable and probably shouldn't be in a customer facing role! As soon as we sat down he simply said "wine?" ...Assuming he meant do you want the wine list? When I said no thank you he simply tutted and marched away??The food was ok but ruined by the frosty service. Absolutely no need when people are trying to enjoy a nice family meal out.

Family owned Italian restaurant that serves good quality Italian food. After sampling the food in other restaurants that serve similar food in the area I can honestly say that the food is far superior & all freshly made. I have visited this little restaurant on a number of occasions & have never been disappointed. The restaurant has been sectioned off for the protection of the diners & the hand sanitiser is at the entrance as you walk in, the waitress came to our table & asked for contact details in compliance with government guidelines. I look forward to many more visits as does my granddaughter who absolutely loves dining here.

Stopped here by chance and was very pleasantly surprised. Had the sea bass with prawns and mustard source (with chips). It was one of the best tasting sea food dishes I’ve had. Not cheap but lovely. Highly recommended.

We had a pizza, carbonara two tiramisu sweets and 1ltr of wine £47 great value. The mains were excellent and the sweets even better.

Asked for table for three and were told it was quiet night and were shown to table inside. Sat down and removed coats and were given menus. Then waitress came back and informed us that we would have to eat and leave within an hour as all tables booked?! We had to sit and eat outside which was chilly and food ( average) went cold quickly. We only stayed as daughter was very hungry. We left around 90 mins later and restaurant was still almost empty! We don’t feel the staff were honest with us and we were not impressed with such offhand customer care. Would not recomment. Our details were not taken in line with covid regulations and no masks worn by staff.

Not much effort taken to follow the covid guidelines here, apart from the hideous white dividers between tables. Name & number not taken. None of the waiting staff wore a mask.The food: garlic bread @ meatballs okay, prawns in tomato & fennel was average. Mains of Carbonara and pork loin in masarla were not bad but the accompanying roast veg was like ratatouille with no potatoes at all. The Ametricana was poor... insipid tomato sauce, raw onion and very little pancetta. Tiramasu was good but the panacotta was not so.Haphazard service.Disappointed really.

We had lunch here on Saturday 8 August, our first visit to both Inverness and Little Italy. We were very impressed with this family run restaurant which could have been in the back streets of Venice or somewhere similar. We had 1 starter, then I had Amatriciana which was so flavoursome, the best I've ever had. Hubby had Pollo Gamberetti which he said was delicious and would definitely have again. 2 Desserts, teas and soft drinks. Can't remember the cost (just look at their Menu) but it was definitely reasonable, certainly not expensive, and good sized proportions. Do not hesitate to visit this lovely Restaurant. Hopefully we'll be back next year. Thank you for a very enjoyable meal, especially in these very difficult times - keep up the good work.

Wow!! Lost for words. Well worth it! Came here for the first time. Thought we try something new. As vegetarians it’s difficult to find something that can accommodate our needs. My mum doesn’t eat anything with garlic or onions, they made a special sauce just for her. I highly recommend the bruschetta. A masterpiece! All staff were extremely friendly and Aymar Justina were great. Francesco provided us with great guitar music. Well worth it!

The only restaurant in Scotland where the staff have no face mask. They don’t really care about health & safety guidelines here. Pasta and pizza are average as well Not recommended

I had great meal with my Wife and 3 kids, very friendly staff. I had the calzone best I have had in years. The kids loved there pizzas, youngest thought the crusts were the best bit!

We dropped in for an early dinner. The restaurant is very small and the white plastic dividers which have been erected in response to COVID restrictions make that worse - it’s very closed in at the tables and you can’t see around the restaurant, clear screens would have been a better choice. Food was excellent however portions were not big and it felt expensive for what we had. We had one starter, bruschetta, one slice of bread, one slice of mozzarella and some tomatoes. 2 mains, one pasta and a chicken dish which was the piece of chicken, sauce and a small portion of chips, c£35 excluding drinks. Service is friendly but very rushed we were in fed and out in around 40 minutes.The track and trace book was put onto our table along with a pen to write in our details, I’d suggest the staff complete the book to reduce the number of people handling it.

I had the most amazing penne pesto dish from the lunch specials menu, amazing food and wonderful service, would 100% recommend.

My friend and Me decided to have to book a table there outside. The staff and the owner were really good at serving us. They were quick at serving us the meal I had spicy king prawns starter dish and my friend had spaghetti carbonara which he enjoyed. We had a table outside due to social distancing rules and it was well screened off from other tables and the price was bot too expensive. It was very nice atmosphere. It felt like we sat in Italy cafe and enjoyed the meal. We both enjoyed it and hope to go back to it in the future

My husband & I dined here on our last evening in Inverness. We did not have a reservation but we arrived early so they were not crowded. My husband had the Little Italy calzone and I had the chicken Parmigiana . Both dishes were excellent with very large portions. We each enjoyed a glass of the Montepulciano wine. For dessert we each had a cup of Americano and Tiramisu. The tiramisu was probably the best we have had and we could not believe we found it in Scotland. The prices are quite reasonable, great atmosphere and good service. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Saturday night take away so disappointing . Had 3 seafood pastas and a Carbonara the metal trays where only half fill as I would say they where Portion size only fit for a child only as they were also doing an offer of 20% off so look appealing but even still I paid £47 for Childs portion for 4 adults ,never again will I buy from there .

We decided to support local restaurants during lockdown by ordering a Saturday night takeaway.Starters were amazing but unfortunately the mains were a let down. My lasagna was just a watery mess which was so disappointing after a starter of wonderful meatballs. On a plus, the pizza that arrived was amazing.

This pace has great atmosphere and wonderful food. The pasta dishes are excellent. The lasagne is to die for. The service is very good. It is small and cozy. It is convenient to the taxi stand around the corner.

I can highly recommend Little Italy, a 5 minute walk from Inverness city centre. Its a family run restaurant with a very cosy atmosphere, great food, and very friendly fun staff. It really made our trip to Inverness special.

Whether it’s been for lunch or evening dining...this little gem of a restaurant never fails to deliver superb food and great service. I absolutely love this place. Today my friend and I shared bruschetta and prawns for starters..absolutely delicious. I should have asked for some scarpetta for the sauce but I know now for next time thanks to Uncle Rocco. The lobster ravioli was cooked to perfection and the garlic bread....best I’ve had. Great ambience.I can’t take cream or creamy dishes and it is never problem here. They are so accommodating and so pleasant.This is the best and friendliest restaurant in Inverness without a doubt who have totally converted me to Italian food.Definitely recommended though a bit hesitantly in case it gets too busy and I can’t get a table

My friends brought me here for lunch. Wow!!!! It is superb! The ambiance is wonderful...authentically Italian with lovely music and warm, friendly staff. The menu was great. Lots of choice and good Specials too. I had the pork loin with olive pate. It was superb! I was very impressed. Friends had great pasta and calzone pizza. Tiramisu was heavenly! I recommend without reservation and with my whole heart!I absolutely loved this place!

Visited this lovely wee restaurant for the first time with my boyfriend and we'll definitely be coming back. Excellent, well presented, fresh food and amazing service for the price. The staff were all polite and engaged us in conversation. Little Italy is definitely a hidden gem in Inverness.

Family took me to little Italy after my flight cancelled. Absolutely delicious. Lovely menu. struggled to eat main as very generous portions Would highly recommend booking as small but very popular Will definitely visit again when I am back in Inverness

The atmosphere was pleasant. The service was good and the food was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend anyone to try this place. We enjoyred the music with songs acoompanied by the waiter.

We had a lovely meal here tonight. A relaxed atmosphere and great service. One of the few restaurants in Inverness worth visiting.

We went just before Xmas as it was a place where my mother had been a few times and commented that it was good.Right she was. The starter was very delicious. Calamari. The kids had olives which they loved. The main was pizza which was also just as delicious. The kids left no crumbs. So all in all it was of excellent standards with just as great excellent customer service. Definitely a great place to visit. See you soon.

visited recently I had pizza (which was good) as i am not too fond of pasta wife had salmon risotto she said it was very bland and tasteless when brought to the attention of waiter just shrugged shoulders wont be returning

Only about 30 seats but excellent, authentic Italian food from this Italian family at a very reasonable price. Lovely atmosphere. A lovely experience with quality food and great ( house) wine.

Our last night in Inverness, just been for an early evening meal after going on a nice trip to Loch Ness & Urqhart Castle, thought this would be a nice end to the day! well not actually...food was average, the service was terrible, the waiter was lazy, rude and uninterested... shame! it looked a nice place from the outside... fuming

My husband and I visited this restaurant on a recent trip to Inverness and were so glad we did. The food and service was brilliant. It's small and a little cramped but that actually adds to the appeal and atmosphere.

A gorgeous lunch in lovely surroundings. The food was excellent and the service very good. A nice menue with plenty of choice and extremely well cooked and presented. I loved it.

Dined here with my beautiful wife and 13yr old daughter. Wee one had pizza which she loved. My good lady had Amatriciana which she said was delicious. I had the salmon risotto which was the best risotto I have tasted. Ever. It's small, and seems to get a constant flow of people coming in looking so recommend booking.

We had to wait fo be seated. it was worth the wait. Authentic Italian food. Amazing flavours and freshness in the food. Fabulous cosy place.

Booked 8pm for 5 of us which was just as well because the restaurant was full and potential customers were being turned away or advised to return later.

I visited this quaint little restaurant with friends as we were all up to run the Loch Ness marathon. We couldn't have picked a better place. After the initial confusion as we had booked for 8pm and our table wasn't ready the night was amazing. Food was well cooked and every plate was empty. Staff were attentive and the decor inside was what made it for me. It is very small in fact i was nearly sitting on another customer's knee as i was trying to take a photo of our group. But that's what makes it a special place. I look forward to returning one day and maybe sampling the vino on that occasion.

We ordered 2 pizzas to take away. It was a busy Saturday night but our pizzas were ready in 10 minutes. Crispy base and fresh and delicious toppings. At £10 each great value.

Not visited little Italy in a while so decided to take the family for a wee birthday meal. The youngsters had calamari which was really nice and decent portion, whilst us parents shared the meat antipasto. Lush.

Our hotel recommended Little Italy and it was a hit. Great local feel and atmosphere, very helpful staff and the food was wonderful. My wife claimed the lasagna was the best she’s ever had. My dinner was a request for something not on the menu (spaghetti olio) that was fantastic. Cost was very reasonable, too.

A small restaurant with very good Italian food. My husband and I enjoyed the lasagna which was recommended by people sitting at the next table. Not exactly the authentic version I’m used to but very good. Very nice atmosphere and a very attentive staff.

I had been to this restaurant before with my friend and we had a lovely meal, however this last meal was dreadful, service was not great despite it being quiet, meal arrived and the spaghetti carbonara looked insipid and tasted the same it lacked flavour and presentation was not good it was as if no effort had been put into it, we had to ask for parmesan cheese, sorry folks most dissatisfied with the meal and will never go back.

We came down from Orkney we had booked a table we got there early the staff was happy to seat us,all I can say the hole experience was fantastic food and staff were great,we are going to go back

For our trip to Inverness, we arrived around 2 PM, and we walked around the center of town looking for a place for lunch / snack, found it. Then it came time to find dinner. Our host at the B&B; suggested Little Italy as a top option.

Good reasonably priced Italian food in a small slightly quirky restaurant. We have been many times, never disappointed. The specials in particular are worth a little extra, but the standards on the regular menu are all good.

We went for an evening meal without pre-booking and were fortunate to get the last available table for two. The food and service were excellent, and the small and cosy dining area had a nice feel to it. Prices were quite reasonable.

Llegamos a Inverness alrededor de las 19:00 en un ajetreado sábado de agosto, después de no haber podido entrar en ningún establecimiento de comida en Black Isle, donde nos estábamos quedando.

Just out for a days shopping and wanted to go to another restaurant but queueing outside so walked up to Little Italy. Really comfortable and homely inside and not too big. Had a lovely lunch of linquini seafood with a scrumptuous dessert afterwards of chocolate truffle - yum. Would thoroughly recommend - hope to have dinner there shortly.

A good place for an enjoyable, traditional Italian fare. The room is compact, leading to a nice romantic atmosphere. The food is pretty basic stuff, which is more than fine if you're looking for pastas and other typical Italian dishes.

Invece di un piatto di verdure fresche ci hanno servito dei sottaceti, ammettendo dopo che non era la prima volta che ricevevano rimostranze a tale proposito. I due risotti richiesti erano solo del riso bollito annegato nella panna e con funghi CRUDI in mezzo. Tra l'altro completamente insipidi. La pizza era una base evidentemente precotta e riscaldata al forno elettrico. Mi spiace ma come detto in altre occasioni non bastano tovaglie a quadretti e musica da sagra paesana per spacciarsi per ristorante italiano. Unica nota a favore:il titolare si è forse reso conto di quel che ci era stato servito e ha moderato il conto.

Loved this place, just at the end of the shopping district. Delicious food (we had pizza and pasta), and a cozy atmosphere. It's a little tight, so can get warm inside, and we recommend booking in advance (but that advice applies to all restaurants in Inverness...) Enjoy!

We had just completed a 12-mile walk, were cycling 65 miles tomorrow, so pasta was a must. A friend had suggested Asda and a takeaway pasta bowl. I suggested going to the number 1 Trip Advisor rated independent Italians. So, we headed off to the city centre and Little Italy. It was rammed when we arrived, so we waited outside. In a couple of minutes, we were seated. The staff were superb answering questions and modifying dishes to suit. There were 3 of us and we all had an exceptional Italian experience in classy Inverness. The pasta was fresh and the sauces Moorish. We will return.

Helt sikkert anbefalelsesværdigt! Skønt personale og sted. Maden var lige efter den Italienske bog, sammen med hele atmosfæren.
