Lir Coast Grill in Moyle

I never write a negative post on Tripadvisor.This is the first.We were served some of the worst food I have eaten in a restaurant in the last couple of years.It was a genuine disrespect of quality fresh ingredients. Monkfish, sirloin steak, and the humble burger, potato, salmon and broccoli were all ‘murdered’.Shame on the restaurant.Service was non existent.The golf club should pay attention.

We returned here after a terrible experience back in 2016, hoping it had improved. It hasn't. Still in need of a food and beverage supervisor only now the food isn't the best.We were one of two tables dining. There were no menus. Instead there was a specials board. I'm not sure how you can have a specials board without a menu.The kids options were rattled off to us. We ordered and our food arrived in a reasonable time. Unfortunately we hadn't been brought cutlery, condients or napkins so we each had to wait while the only waitress brought our plates in pairs and returned for the table settings. The steak wasn't great quality and the large chips were hard and tastless. The dining experience lacked structure and system. The food lacked imagination and quality. The pricing was reasonable but this restaurant needs someone who knows about runnning a restaurant, not a golf club.

It was excellent. Two friends with special dietary needs joined me for lunch on Sunday 4th February 2018. The meal was lovely. The presentation was 'eye-friendly' and the vegetarian option was delicious. Thanks Dermott, and thanks to the server Niall for the understated attention.

This restaurant is located within Cushendall Golf Club, with beautiful views of the sea and the golf course. You can comfortably eat your dinner in the bar or in the restaurant. As alway, excellent service by the staff, food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Food was enjoyed with excellent drinks from the bar, and the cost overall was very reasonable. We'll be back!

Estuve aquí el domingo por la noche durante el mes de julio. El restaurante es parte del club de golf local así siga las señales para eso y la playa y será fácil de encontrar. Tanto el bar y el restaurante estaban ocupados en la llegada, pero afortunadamente nos condujeron. Hay un extenso menú y mucho para elegir, con una buena variedad de mariscos, carnes y platos de pollo. El aperitivo de brie frito está acompañada de una compota de frutas y una sabrosa ensalada con un aliño de pesto fresco. Para principal tuve la pasta con marisco penne que era una porción abundante con un generoso ofrecimiento de peces diferentes. Mi compañero tenía el pollo chili y chorizo de pasta, que de nuevo estaba delicioso. No eran aptos para el postre, pero de nuevo había varias opciones sugerentes. Las vistas son impresionantes buscando en el mar irlandés a partes de Escocia y la montaña lurig. No puedo esperar hasta nuestro próximo viaje de vuelta.

We dont usually frequent golf clubs but gave this one a try. We were seated by the window and had great views of the hills and ocean. The service was first class and the food very good. Would go back again.

We visited this restaurant on a friend's recommendation. We were not disappointed. Staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Selection of food and portion sizes were all to an excellent standard? We will definitely visit here again.

so after reading all the wonderful reviews I couldn't wait to try the restaurant. We booked a table for 7pm and arrived promptly. At 7.05 we were still waiting by the door to be shown to our table, even if the waitress had have said "I ll be with you in a min" it would have been ok but we were glanced at but otherwise ignored. To be honest I wanted to leave at this point but because my husband knew I had really wanted to try this restaurant he talked me into waiting. After another embarrassing few minutes we were shown to our table, which to be honest was a lovely table overlooking the course and the beach. Then we waited again after 15 mins we were given our menus and a specials board so we chose what we wanted and waited...... again for yep another 15 mins for our order to be taken, I feel that I must point out that out of approx 14 tables 5 were occupied that's including ours. Anyway whilst waiting my husband noticed our wine glasses which were empty as our bottle had not yet been brought to the table, his had a lipstick smear on it and mine was chipped, when our starters were brought over I pointed it out to the waitress who apologised and took them away but failed to return with replacements or wine. I have to be honest I was at this stage really fed up so I said to my husband that maybe we should just pay for the starters and leave to which he readily agreed. We went over to the waitress and told her what we were doing unbelievably she told us we would have to wait..... at this stage it was 8pm we were hungry and I really wasn't going to wait any longer!! I asked to speak to the manager who in fairness didn't keep us waiting. He couldn't have been more apologetic and it seemed that he couldn't belive what had happened, he even offered for us to come back later that week where in his words we could see what the restaurant was really like but I felt that while this was a very kind gesture it would have been really embarrassing. I feel that the restaurant is being let down with very inexperienced floor staff which is a real shame on the food that we did try it was just ok on the whole we were so so disappointed but I hope that they do sort it out because the location is fabulous and no one could deny the managers passion for the place.

Fuimos allí para tener la comida de bar. Nos saludó a la camarera que enseguida nos dijeron que el restaurante estaba lleno. Nos explicó que estaba bien. Comer en el bar.Nos dio un menús a la carta y pasar los próximos cinco minutos completamente confundido porque nos llamaba y nos aseguraron la comida del bar estaba sirviendo. Sólo cuando le preguntamos a la camarera no le reconocen la comida de bar disponible. Entonces ella nos trajo un menú entre siete.El menú parecía bueno. Seis de nosotros ordenamos el menú del bar. Uno de los platos de la carta. Platos venían con una orden de parte de arroz, papas o patatas fritas.La comida llegó es tiempo razonable, pero luego nos encontramos esperando el arroz para salir (se observó como el que sirve el pollo chili sugerencia con el curry y platos que pedimos.) cuando no venga pedimos a la camarera que me explico que no habíamos pedido- "fue sólo una sugerencia". Dado que vienen con una orden platos laterales, seguramente ella debería haber preguntado cuando pedimos lo que nos gustaría con el plato? Extraño.Así que pedimos el arroz. Unos minutos más tarde uno sirve salió y nos dijeron que la cocina había acabado de arroz! Increíble. Pedimos patatas fritas como el premio de consuelo.Este sitio necesita una buena comida y bebida para bajarlo supervisor en algunas condiciones. La comida era buena, pero el servicio no le favorece. El precio también era razonable pero se siente como el restaurante es conceder prioridad a la comida en el bar.

Nos decepcionó inicialmente. Se basa en un club de golf, y se nota. Además, cuando fuimos a las 8 de la tarde, éramos los únicos clientes. Algunos más vinieron en más tarde. En general, el "look" del lugar no es justo.El personal era amable, y la comida era deliciosa. Fue sólo el día anterior que mi esposa había anunciado que era difícil obtener un buen curry indio a menos que estaban en un restaurante indio.Bien ella estaba equivocada. Era muy elegante y sabroso.Si el establecimiento se encargan cómo parece, éste será un sólido 5 estrellas.

The beef stroganoff is to die for, fish and steak beautiful too! Great staff, fab food and an amazing backdrop.

Great food, prompt efficient service - really good value for money!!! The starter of Brie and fruit coulis was delish. The steak (from the local Kearneys butchers) cooked to perfection. The Irish coffee a fitting end.

On a glorious June evening is there a better setting than Cushendall Golf Club with superb views over the Sea of Moyle,towards the Mull of Kintyre, Glenballyeamon to the majestic sun drenched Lurig mountain and across the bay to Glenariffe.The food did not disappoint either,from the moment we entered we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff,who recommended the evening specials.The salted chilli beef was delicious,the children's goujons were plentiful and tasty,whilst my chicken curry was excellent.Two desserts and a couple off rum coffees rounded off a fantastic meal.

It is great to see good food available again in Cushendall Golf Club. We have dined a number of times in the restaurant Dermot is a brill chef and the menu is very varied. Dolores, Ciara and all the staff give great service and there isn't a restaurant with better views for many miles. Not to be missed

Following a long period lacking good full-time catering, Dermot Mc Goohan is certainly doing the golf club proud. I had a meal in the Lir Restaurant last night with a group of extremely demanding gourmands - me, 3 Italians and a Greek. They absolutely love their food and said that it has been a long time since they have had such a wonderful meal. Service was just right and the price quality excellent. Onwards and upwards. Open to non members so give it a try.

The restaurant has beautiful views of Cushendun bay and surrounding countryside. Our food was well cooked, hot and well presented. The service was faultless as we both made slight changes to the dishes as described and everything arrived exactly as we had requested.We also got an excellent bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc at a very reasonable price.

Had family home from America and took them here for a family meal. The food was great and plentiful. Service was spot on. The views are amazing over the bay and surrounding hills and golf course.

Went out for a meal with friends and we all had a selection of dishes. Mostly fish and steak dishes. The food and service was excellent. The only thing I wasn't so keen on was the fact that your main dish came plated (your vegetables & potatoes were not served separately). However, what I got was grand.

Had a great family dinner here. Saw the dolphins in the bay-amazing! Will definitely be back. Beautiful surroundings.
