Lime Indian Restaurant in Broxtowe

Went for a meal with friends ,we hadn't been for a while but we will definitely be back soon.The service we received was first class and we were given advice about the menu,the food was delicious and I would definitely recommend the restaurant.

Visited last night as a party of 14 for my birthday. In true family style part of the group were late but staff were very accommodating even when it started getting busy. Food was gorgeous as usual. We have never dined in at Lime and always had takeaways but the food certainly didn’t disappoint. We had our table until 7.15 as another big party were coming, we ran over because of the lateness of my kids but again very accommodating staff, they let us sit in the waiting area to finish our drinks and say our goodbyes/ take photos. Would recommend this restaurant 110%. This is not a licensed place so bring your own alcohol, bottled drinks only ( we didn’t realise and brought cans of IPA for the guys but again they were very nice about it and we know for next time) soft drinks have to be purchased from them. We will be going again and will carry on having takeouts, staff, food and surroundings are top notch. Thank you for having us x

My starter dish that fell short of my expectations was the lamb chops. I had been looking forward to tender, succulent pieces of lamb cooked to perfection. However, what I received was far from that. The lamb was undercooked and chewy, making it difficult to enjoy the dish. One of the dishes I was most excited to try was the famous Chicken Masala. I had heard that it was a delicious and flavorful curry dish, so I was eagerly anticipating a burst of flavors when I took my first bite. However, when the dish arrived at my table, I was surprised to see that the chicken masala was red in color, rather than the vibrant orange I had expected. Now, I know that appearance shouldn't be the sole basis for judging a dish, but it was hard to get past the initial shock. The red hue made the dish look more like a tomato-based pasta sauce than a traditional Indian curry. Unfortunately, the taste didn't make up for the disappointing presentation either. The flavors were bland and lacked the complexity I had anticipated. So, why did my experience with Indian food leave me feeling disappointed? I believe there are a few factors at play here. First, it's important to note that taste preferences are subjective. What one person finds delicious, another might find bland. Timing I couldn't help but notice that the minutes were passing by slowly. I glanced at my watch and realized that it had been nearly half an hour since I placed my order. The meal wasn’t worth the price I paid for wouldn’t recommend It took so long to getting my bill aswell

Food is delicious every time, lime in nuthall is our go to every time we fancy a curry, taste is always spot on and very quick delivery

We had a takeaway tonight. We have always used Lime. So disappointed tonight. One curry very watery. No free onion bharji (seems we didn't tick a tiny box) and despite always having 3 dips with our poppadom.. Only 2 tonight I phoned and was told nothing they could do as I should have added the bhaji to my basket to get it free, no only 2 dips. Really poor responce to a customer. We didn't bother with the watery curry as they area clearly not bothered about loyal customers.. Oh and they charge you 50p for the super service. Doubt we will be going/using again. Really sad and very disappointed

Good food but if you order a delivery to your house you can guarantee they will forget something

We dropped in without a reservation as we weren’t locals but were looking for somewhere to eat. They made a real effort to fit us in despite being really busy. They had to put us near the door but they put a little heater by our table so we were nice and warm. The food was amazing and they were really attentive and polite. If we were locals this would definitely be our go to curry house!!!

Lime is our local Indian restaurant and we eat/order from here all the time - absolutely superb food and never disappoints

Absolutely fantastic curry and amazing staff. Always so friendly and helpful. Cannot recommend enough. Our 7 year old requested this restaurant for his birthday meal. The tandoori mix grill is especially good!!

Lime is a fabulous family run restaurant. Obi was very attentive and recommended the lamb for the Soni Paneer, which was a perfect choice. We were a party of four and all our food was delicious with excellent service. We will be back.

Lovely venue, staff are so helpful and engaging. Amazing onion bhajis and the curry was so flavoursome (I had chicken tikka rogan josh). Obi was our waiter for the evening and he couldn’t do more for us. Highly recommended!

Always usually order from here but we ordered 2 weeks ago for my Birthday and were disappointed. The Balti was lacking in flavour and my KM was really acridy and bitter like the spices hadn't been cooked out enough. The poppadoms and tikka masala were nice which my son had. It makes me concerned to order again as it's not a cheap treat to have especially if you don't enjoy it. Fingers crossed it was a rare bad meal.

Went in to order and takeaway. Waited for food then returned home. Only to get the food out and they had gave us korma instead of rogan josh. Took it back and all they did was replace the wrong curry’s. Said they had a new packer. By the time I got back home. The rice was cold and chips freezing. What a waste of money. Meal was ruined. They didn’t even give me my change had to ask for it. Such bad service

Tasty but didn't seem as nice as usual. Chicken was a little dry but sauces nice. Just not up to the usual exceptional standard somehow. Samosas excellent and spicy as usual. Naan were a little cold.

Went in the restaurant to order a delivery. Food came on time service was standard. The food though very disappointing . Order lamb and chicken curry and was the worst I’ve had. In comparison to other places I’ve eaten from this has to definitely be at the bottom of the list and won’t be returning. Was embarrassing as had friends round and the food let the evening down and everyone left hungry lucky I had cake and custard ready for dessert

Bland curries with tuff old meat

Too noisy. Food ok. Bugbear is no salt on the table. I've asked for it and been lectured! I like a bit of salt on my rice. Not a place I'd choose to go but a lot of people like it and it wins awards so hey ho.

Second time we have been. Again the meal was brilliant the staff are very friendly and helpful . You take your own alcohol and they bring you glasses for it

People were lovely and polite. I was very excited to try this food. I am very disappointed. It has to be one of the worst dishes I have eaten. Lamb was hard and who puts peas in a biryani? I won't be trying this food again. Sorry.

Absolutely amazing food, I ordered online and collected myself. The staff were super friendly upon arrival and had my dinner ready for me, quick look around the restaurant and it was very tidy and well presented. I would highly recommend either dinning or takeaway as the food was very delicious, defiantly will be back during our 5 month UK holiday from NZ!

First and last visit. Very disappointing. Miserable staff and average food. Tough thin dry lamb chops, very spicy but lacking flavour, odd tasting batter on the king prawn starter. Dry chicken in the mains. Onion Bhaji good(!) Even if the food was better the staff need to cheer up and be warm & friendly to their guests, god it was hard work. So unwelcoming. Cannot understand how it has won awards. Would not recommend.

By far the best Indian restaurant in the area and their sister restaurant is also great for an alternative Decorations are good and take your own drinks is also great

Had a take away last night I've never tasted such awful food it was like a curry out of a jar never had such a tastless curry will never eat from here again !!!

I fancied something a bit different than my usual go-to curry, so I tried a chicken tikka jalfrezi hot for a change, Honestly it's the best curry I've had, it was absolutely delicious.

Visited Lime as its local to us and have been coming here for years. Friendly staff and as always great food! Highly recommend coming here if you've never been. Their take away service is just as good and highly recommended too.

I go here every time I visit Nottingham. The food is fantastic. They do not serve beer and wine but you can bring your own, but make sure it's in bottle's as they don't allow cans. You can also buy beer and wine at the Spar store next to the restaurant.

Lovely food. Mixed up order, as ordered naan bread and got poppadoms. But actually got a note, saying sorry they had no poppadoms so just gave me the stuff to go with the poppadoms.

I found the food amazing, the staff , friendly and lovely to talk to , I really enjoyed the whole experience, the owner thanked you as you left , the decor looked nice and fresh and the restaurant was very clean, there is a window so you can see the chefs working ,

I had a poppadom & dips, chicken bhuna, egg fried rice and garlic naan, great portion sizes, tasted amazing! Only downside is that there is no dessert menu. Convenient to buy alcohol next door.

Curry was tasty but only lukewarm & not as good as previous orders unfortunately. The naan bread was really dry & tough so overall I was disappointed with this order.

17 went for a birthday meal, food was nice when asked if we could bring out a birthday cake, said yes there would be a charge for the knife and a charge per person per slice. Never heard anything of a kind. Will not be returning to celebrate any occasion there again. 😡

The delivery was a mess. Curry leakage over everything. By the time we’d cleaned the curry sauce of everything and ate, it was cold. They also mislabelled the dishes so I nearly ate a dish I’m allergic to. Complained to just eat and they are a joke. Won’t investigate because I didn’t take photos. Oh sorry, I was too busy cleaning up the mess to take photographs of the food! Won’t be ordering again.

Came in Feb for a meal for 6. It was cold, staff weren't exactly on top form and the food was average at best. When we asked to move to a warmer spot in the restaurant (it was almost completely empty) we were told we couldn't. This was a surprise as friends came in the previous Autumn and had a really good experience. I wouldn't risk it again.

worst indian food I had in my opinion the serving size is a joke. I was so disappointed given the stuff I have seen with these guys around best curries awards and all that stuff. It's all show honestly your local takeaway is way better, when I asked the owner and complained rather than saying sorry or understanding why this was an issue he just said to me " your money is gone can't do nothing about it now" and proceeded to give me the card machine. Honestly avoid rubbish restaurant

Haven’t been for a while, not really sure what has happened but I won’t go back again. Menus were dirty and greasy which was abit off putting, starter order wrong and we was made to feel it was our fault when the owner (I think it was) had took the order and obviously wrote down wrong, the order we got had fish pakoras and they wasn’t cooked properly & tasted very bland causing me to be on the toilet all night with severe stomach ache. Toilets not very clean and just feel generally gone down hill we had planned another birthday meal there for next week however the group have decided against it after last nights meal. Such a shame as use to be a decent place years ago.

I came for dinner as this restaurant was close to hotel. Seated quickly but then service was slow and generally poor. No real interaction, smile or any show of courtesy or friendliness. I ordered the tandoori mixed grill which was the worst version of this I have ever bed. Served. Lamb chop was like an old boot. Chicken leg almost completely meat free. I would certainly never return and definitely not recommend. I’m sure there are better Indian restaurants in Nottingham.

I used to order fro this restaurant possibly once a month,when covid and lock down came into force their prices rocketed,so I stopped using. 3 years on i decided to try again. I really shouldn’t have bothered. I ordered at 4.30pm via Just Eat…. It should have arrived at 6.30,finally delivered nearer 7pm! Meal was ok to be fair,the mint yogurt was actually warm ( heat wise) portions were smaller than they used to be before. Possibly another 3 years before I try again. It’s a same because they used to be really good.

Just had a takeaway , nearly £40 for two starters and a main . Was tasty enough but the meat was too dry and we had the king prawn tala!! £9 for two prawns ! No thanks Will not be ordering or eating in again

Great food and service. However, if spending @£25 on two meals would expect a couple of popadoms especially when the onion and mango chutney was supplied. Nevertheless, great curry.

The food was very good. The service seemed mildly chaotic with items arriving at tables piecemeal instead of, say, on a trolley. I would also suggest that if the Pepsi Max is to be served somewhat inelegantly in its bottle with a straw then the straw should be longer than the bottle.

Visited again after a number of years and still the lamb chops are brilliant. Service is also very attentive and my garlic chilli chicken moist and tender. BYOB off licence next door. Recommended.

Chicken tikka starter was hard and had to be thrown away, curries were bland and quite a tasteless and the rice was over moist which was strange, unfortunately I won’t be ordering from here again
