Lili's Chinese Restaurant in North Down

Absolutely appalling. My curry didn’t taste like curry and was sweet like someone had added sugar to disguise the taste. The chips were almost black like they had been repeatedly reheated in dirty cooking oil. This was beyond horrible. My first and last time buying a takeaway from this place. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!

Touring Northern Ireland, we looked for somewhere to eat with gluten free options, rare to find this in a Chinese because of the soy used! The meal was nice, heavy on onions and quiet greasy, but that may just have been the choices we made. The salt and chilli ribs as a starter were a real hit. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Would eat there again. There is a fixed price for starter and main which is very reasonable!

I have been to Lili's many times with family & friends & once again my visit with a friend (on 19th June around 6.30pm) was a real pleasure. Excellent service, really good food & in short a total pleasure. I just wish they would bring back the 'all you can eat' menu, that was superb value & a total pleasure trying various items on the menu I might never otherwise have tried (the really lovely Topu Chili chicken became a real fav that way). Great restaurant & I (& family & friends) will return many times.

Ordered a takeaway from here this evening - probably the worst Chinese meal I have ever eaten. Ordered salted chilli chicken, honey chilli chicken & salt & chilli chips. The chicken was inedible. Large bits of chicken that were chewy & fatty. Avoid at all costs

Had an incredible dinner with the fam. Fresh seafood, and great quality dishes. Absolutely loved the homemade wines which paired really well with the dishes. Staff were very friendly and hospitable. We’ll definitely be back for more!

Had a takeaway from this establishment this evening, meal for one! Oh my where do u start, prawn crackers chewy, ribs tasteless, satay chicken dry as ur boot, spring rolls complete soggy messs! The main course of sweet and sour as other comments have said just avoid! It really didn’t taste sweet or sour just an under cooked batter covered in what can only describe as a slimy orange sauce! In current climate with everything so expensive I wouldn’t waste ur hard earned cash on this place. Spoke to manager who be fair was pleasant, can add credit note to next order! No chance not risk my health, to be told a trainee was in the fryers what a joke! In future I be landing back with crap served like this.

After the disappointing 1st time of using this Chinese, thought I would give it another go. Apart from having to pay an extra 2.50 for sauce, it was disgusting. I have used a different restaurant for over 30 years and believe me, I do know what sweet and sour sauce should taste like! I rinsed the remaining sauce out and the smell was overwhelming. If you want a decent chinese, use the Marerosa. Never failed to disappoint me after all these years, unlike LiLi.

Absolutely disgusting food, equally disgusting customer service. We ordered a fair amount of food, including 2x barbeque spare ribs, 2x chicken balls and 2x "sweet and sour" sauces. The ribs in BBQ sauce had some weird, sugar sauce. The ones in honey had some hard honey stuck to the bottom of the box, but none on the ribs. Some of the chicken balls were very pink. We didn't want to risk it so we didn't eat all of them. The worst part was the "sweet and sour" sauce. The sauce we received looked like marmalade, and tasted and smelled like oranges. I called LiLi's and was passed on to a man who was very abrupt and not exactly polite. He tried to tell me that "that's how we make our sweet and sour sauce". I asked how "sweet and sour sauce" can taste and smell of oranges. He claimed "our chef makes a big pot of sauce and sometimes he puts too much orange juice in the pot." That's orange sauce. If you put lots orange in your sauce, IT. IS. ORANGE. SAUCE. The man kept insisting that this is their version of "sweet and sour sauce". When I said it was inedible because it tastes and smells awful, he said "I can give you 15% off your next order, or another sauce". Who in their right mind would ever, EVER, order from there again after getting such disgusting food with such disgraceful service. No refund, no consideration that they might be in the wrong, nothing at all to help us get some edible food. One of, if not THE worst chinese restaurants I've ever eaten food from.

We are from Ballyholme and been trying to find a good Chinese restaurant for a while. We had two carry outs from Lili’s, both were excellent. We are in a few days ago and the standard of food was maintained. I wish I had taken photos, especially of the salted chilli mushrooms (that my wife couldn’t finish or she wouldn’t have managed much of her main course). Simple things like the decorative way some of the vegetables were cut ans the prawn sesame toast having a dip served with it, add to the enjoyment. Staff are very attentive and always smiling. We will be back repeatedly.

Travelled from ards to Bangor to try their food. Food was fantastic, best Chinese I've tasted in ages. Lovely owners, very friendly Highly recommended 👌

100% best Chinese in town. Cater for all your needs. Been devouring their food for years and will continue to do so for years. I used to be gluten free and LiLis was the only restaurant/takeaway that helped keep my sanity throughout that period. Often gluten free can be lacklustre but in this restaurant their gluten free food is equal if not better than the ordinary dishes. No matter what you choose on their menu, whenever, it is quality. Thanks LiLi’s.

Really disappointed! Tonight’s delivery will be our last. Waited 1hr 25 mins for the delivery which is grand with covid 19 malarkey. As soon as I realised they got one of my order items wrong I rang. I got a sorry but no offer to correct the issue, as I am gluten free and have to follow an msg free diet also they checked I could eat the wrongly noted and delivered item. I order from here practically every week when I do it’s 1-2 times. The attitude of the male staff member was really disappointing, not what we are used to especially as I paid more money for an item I didn’t want! Food was overly salty and too much batter ratio to chicken. In a time where businesses are struggling the response from what I assume to be male management was surprising. They clearly don’t need my business.

This is a lovely place to go for dinner with friends or family. The staff are friendly, cheerful and very willing to help you decide what to try on the extensive menu. My favourite is Beef Chow Mein.

I like ginger in my rice and they have it perfected . I honestly think ud have to have a screw loose not to like there food tbh

Best seafood restaurant in Northern Ireland!!! Cheap but amazing!!! A must-go in Bangor! I should have taken more pictures but I just couldn't wait to eat!!! Recommend everything!!!

Meal for 4, plates and cutlery are well worn, was lucky I brought my own. You might laugh but its a real issue here. Inside decor needs some tlc also. Food was slightly bizarre, the bbq ribs sauce for a start and also the blackbean not sure what the sauces are. I wouldn't go back anytime soon but I know chinese around Bangor is all pretty much lile this.

Had worse and much better. Whilst the food was about ok, part from the blackbean that was merely soy sauce an vinegars but the real let down was knackered cutlery and plates. Very worn down decor inside all needs abit of tlc. As far as number 1 for chinese in Bangor goes that says alot about the standard of the town.

The food was great (as it has been on every occasion I have been there). Topan chicken and salted chilli chicken are delicious! Slightly overpriced at £18.50 per person as the portions do get a lot smaller with each order.

Beautiful food and such loverly staff. We had a vegetarian with us and they went above and beyond to cater to her needs. Loverly and friendly and had an amazing night. Every dish was superb.

I ordered a take away, kids meal and lemon chicken and rice....well I didn't receive the rice, the lemon chicken was made with limes and it tasted as if the oil was used for cooking rotting fish. Couldn't eat my dish (and wouldn't give it to the dog) will not be back

We learnt from somewhere else that Lily's does seafood dishes in an authentic Chinese way and decided to give it a try. Our dinner at Lily's turned out to be great, the dishes were authentic and tasty!

Well it’s unfortunate but on our visit last night we ended up very sick after our meal. The honey chilli chicken and salted chilli chicken was not cooked properly and the chips weren’t cooked to our needs. On previous visits to Lilli’s the food has been of high quality but last night me and my GF were extremely disappointed and let down by our meal. The restaurant was also very cold , so cold that we couldn’t actually remove our jackets!

A very warm welcome greeted us on arrival and excellent customer service continued throughout. Easy to find and with free car parking in the street outside, the spacious and casual restaurant offered a variety of food items. Service was quick and friendly with substantial portions making it excellent value for money.

老板人超级好，海鲜超级好吃，甚至还有大龙虾吃！就在海边上，饭店很大，临窗的位置风景很棒。以后会专程过去吃海鲜，五星推荐！

餐厅离港口很近，坐在餐厅还可以看到海港的风景……食物超级好吃，吃了大龙虾，海鱼，还有马来西亚炒饭，味道超级好！尤其是大龙虾，吃下第一口就超级满足！老板特别热情！一定还会再来的，要把这家店的食物吃一个遍！

Two course deal at £12.75 sounded good.

Having been on the search for a gluten free chinese due to coeliacs disease, I gave Lili's a call and the lady on the phone was more than helpful and very patient speaking with me relating the GF choices available.I ordered Bbq spare ribs and Sweet & sour chicken with fried rice and chips which were all confirmed would be made gluten free. When my order arrived, they also sent me a free bottle of gluten free soy sauce which was such a lovely gesture. The food was amazing! I am so glad that I have found a chinese restaurant that I can eat with confidence. 5* service all around, the customer service and food was brilliant!

Lilli's is my favourtie chinese restaurant in Bangor. I have been coming here for years and years even before the name change (Sally & Deans?) and so, as a long standing patron, I am biased as I've invested many an evening under its roof.

My family love visiting here as they offer an all you can eat menu for £16.50 per person. We ate here for dinner on a week night and it was very quiet but the waitress was very friendly and very attentive! We ordered 2 rounds of starters before ordering a main so suffice to say we left very full!

I tried this restaurant on the back of the TripAdvisor ratings but found it very disappointing. The premises themselves are very basic. It was a cold day but it was actually colder inside the restaurant and we had to ask for the heating to be turned on. The food was average at best and we were charged for one item we did not receive. This aside, the service was very good from a young chap, however, when he informed us that there was no boiled rice left and we would have to wait ten mins, I was surprised when he insisted that the main would stay on the hotplate rather than return it to the kitchen to keep it warm as requested. Not the overall quality that I expected or was charged for.

Went to lili Chinese for a birthday meal for my father, everyone enjoyed it as the food was lovely and everyone was stuffed after eating it. The staff were so helpful and friendly and I couldn’t praise them enough, they went out of there way to help you especially the woman who works there. The only down fall I would have to mention is that I was shivering the whole way though my meal IT WAS FREEZING in there! I don’t know if they have heating in there all I saw was one of those electric heaters in the middle of the floor that wasn’t heating anything, it was so cold. And they do an All you can eat section in there menu which just kind of confused me even though the woman explained it I was just baffled as it wasn’t like an ordinary all you can eat. Apart from these small points it was a very enjoyable experience and I would recommend trying here to anyone.

Very funny taste from the gravy, was unable to eat it, tasted like there was honey in it! Despite pre ordering our meal was not delivered until 50 minutes after the restaurant opened!

Fuimos un grupo grande de chicos, y probamos el "todo lo que pueda comer" fuente. La comida estuvo sorprendentemente buena calidad por el precio, especialmente cuando se compara con otros buffets chinos. La comida fue traído a nosotros en bandejas, y cada vez que creían que había traído de toda la comida, no paraban de traer más! Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Went here for my daughters birthday, never been here before but will definitely be back soon. Best Chinese food I have tasted in a very long time and we eat loads of Chinese food lol. Staff vary attentive and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Encantador restaurante y uno de los mejores restaurantes de comida china que he visitado. El personal era muy servicial y amable, y la comida era muy sabrosa con porciones grandes. Buena orientación por el personal en lo que a la orden. No hay necesidad de más orden. Si necesitas más será siempre con una sonrisa.

Food was Gorgeous I've had a few 1/4 Duck from other Chinkies but this has to be the nicest I've had. 2 packets of pancakes which is more than enough for the portion. Will be eating from here again.

I don't know if the chef was on a night off but whoever cooked that had no culinary gifts. Truly that was one of the worst Chinese meals I've ever had. Maybe it was delivered early because they just heated up last night's food in the microwave. The only edible bit was the salted chilli king prawns. Everything else was greasy, lumpen and stale tasting - even the crispy seaweed.

Could Lili's PLEASE update their online menu so that you can order plain chips! They have chips with any sauce listed twice, and no plain chips. Very frustrating.

Sesame toast and ribs were good but the Udon noodles were so spicy I couldn't eat them. Satay should not leave your eyes watering.

We LOVE ordering from Lilis. They are great at catering for special diets. Thier pak choi chicken and special house curry is so packed with fresh ingredients and we ask for msg and Gluten free too. No trouble for them at all. Highly recommend...

Fabuloso servicio de personal joven chirpy. "fideos crujientes "eran directamente del paquete y frito un poco, pero aún así sirve en su forma paquete! En su lugar ir para fideos suaves. Toda nuestra comida era deliciosa y el ambiente era bueno. Si bebes puedes te permite traer tu pripia bedida alcohólica. Genial para grupos grandes.

Food was 20 mins later than the time the restaurant gave. Took approx 90 mins. Food was good, but we requested no green peppers which they seemed to ignore.

Food was freezing cold by the time we got it. Arrived 25 mins after planned delivery time, obviously too many deliveries sent out with driver at once. Food usually great from here, but this might make us look for another Chinese for takeaway.

The sweet and sour sauce had no flavour. And they did not specify that sauce is poured on the chips and rice rather than in a separate tub.

Just had takeaway from here and it was delicious.....I am not a fan of Chinese food but the seaweed rolls were to die for...we also had chicken fried rice with melt in the mouth chicken. Delivery was 40 minutes earlier than advised but that was only a bonus. Will definitely order again

Gravy is very salty, salted chilli chicken and couldn't taste any chilli and it was cremated. Not great and I used to love this Chinese.

Have eaten in this restaurant very long time ago, enjoying it at that time so decided to give the take away a try just to have a change. The quality of the chicken was very poor and quite frankly inedible, noodles were very bland and a general cheap greasy taste of both meals and starter. We found the standard of food unacceptable and binned the vast majority of it! I'm so disappointed having to write such a negative review.

We just ordered from this takeaway, it was not very nice at all. The chicken was very fatty and the curry sauce was odd and not appealing. We have got out of this establishment before and it was nice. This time however we left most of our meal. Was very poor. Even the chips were not cooked properly.

Ordered from here tonight for the first time and really wish I hadn't. First of all I ordered at 8:10pm and received my food at 9:40pm. I ordered a set meal for 1 the chicken skewers and ribs were completely flavourless and not enjoyable at all. The chicken curry that was ordered with no vegetables had vegetables in it. And everything was freezing I had to put the food in the microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds just to get it warm enough to eat and to top it all off the curry wasn't nice at all. Very poor service and very poor food definitely wouldn't order from here again.

On our visit we found the restaurant to be almost empty of customers. It was very cold inside also. No heating bar a super serve gas heater! Had to keep our coats on to keep warm.We ordered from the all you can eat menu. Food was middle of the road to be fair. Drinks are over priced. A large Coke £3.50 !! Average price for a bottle of wine...£15+We have been to many other restaurants in Bangor and this was very disappointing in my view. We certainally won't be returning.On a positive note, the waitress was both friendly and helpful.

It's very disappointed , food were not very fresh and tasteless . None of us like the dinner , it was bad part of our day . Feel sick after !!! How disappointed I can be !

I ordered duck, it arrived cold and in big chunks. The container didn't have a lot of duck in it. I ordered Topan chicken which arrived in a polystyrene box, only about a third was filled. It was very small portion sizes compared to any other Chinese, and the food wasn't hot when it arrived. It arrived after 25 minutes so it couldn't have been sitting for very long.
