Light of Asia in Test Valley

An amazing evening, excellent food and great service. Been many times for eating in and take away - never disappointed!

We visited last night and was completely blown away by the food, service and atmosphere. One of our now favourite restaurants, and will defiantly visit again. The food was so delicious!

Have enjoyed LoA takeaways and dining in for many years. The food remains tasty but someone has thrown away the spice jar when it comes to takeaways - tonight's Lamb Piyaza (hot) was as hot as the omelette I had for lunch and it's been the same for weeks. No need to blow the doors off but hot means hot, right?

We have been here a couple of times now for group dinners of 10 to 12 people. Both times the food has been excellent and come out rapidly for us as a large group, the service has been great and prices are fair. Fav place in Andover for a decent curry.

Went on a Saturday night with a table of 8, no effect on service and as quick as if we were a table of two. It wasn't that busy at the time though, only one other big table and two small tables. Everyone in my group said their food was good across a range of dishes. Personally I had the chicken tikka masala which was a little bit too sweet, but still very good, doesn't deduct anything from the overall rating. Naan breads were good. Portion sizes were good.

We had amazing food, service second to none, they could not of done anymore than they did, highly recommended 100% Thank you guys xx

OMG, speaking as a curry veteran I have to say my first experience for the Light of Asia is 10 out of 10. So looking forward to my next meal with them :).

Popped out for valentines day meal.. food was fantastic.. fresh and tasty and not greasy.. will definitely be returning soon..

Absolutely Fantastic food !! All our meals were perfectly cooked and tender and my daughter’s vegetarian option (Paneer Kirchen) has been massively praised by her and is now her new favourite. All four meals were faultless so that’s four very happy and very full family members. I usually prefer to eat in at the Light of Asia as the staff are really friendly and treat customers very well. Today I had to go for delivery but it was on time with everything we ask for arriving and all food was hot and delicious. This is the only Indian restaurant we order from and go to as it is simply the best in the area. Thank You Light of Asia Team !!!

It is a lovely place, it has a warm atmosphere and amazing food. The service is good to. The staff don't hover over your shoulder like other restaurants, which I like as I like to eat my food in peace. Also they warm the plates up so it ensures you have extra warm food. Just the smells of the cooking sends my taste buds into overdrive. If your ever in Andover, Hants pop in.

I came with my family the other evening and was not disappointed. Our biriyani was so flavourful, I was very surprised, it tasted almost exactly like biriyani which I have tried in India and Sri Lanka. If you've never tried asian food this place is definitely the spot. Will be back soon Special thanks to Lahin for the excellent service. Very nice fellow.

In general, a nice curry when sitting in. Takeaway this evening was beyond awful. Frozen chicken and a curry spiced as a tikka masala beyond vindaloo in heat.

Just like most food places in andover... It was alright but nothing to write home about. Put of the sit down Indians I've tried in the area so far this one is the best but I've only tried one other so don't read into this too much. Service made up for lack of wow factor from the food.

Had to try I'm away for work ATM this restaurant is owned by an old friend so of course I had to sneaky try omg!!!! Clinton and his beautiful wife Pramilq served the best meal I've had in a long time thank you will definitely be back !! Highly recommended if you enjoy good quality and tasty fresh food xxxx

Made the mistake of ordering vegetable samosa with my rather expensive meal for 2 at £32. Opened the rice size aluminium tray with samosa written on to find 2 TINY samosa, they could have fit 8 or more in the container but we got 2,...

I've been here several times and absolutely adore their tandoori dish, the Maharaja (tandoori chicken and lamb mince in a rich sauce). The other dishes are also high quality, and the service is excellent. The best food in Andover.

Took my dad for a meal here tonight and it was excellent from start to finish. Food was top tier and the service was excellent too. Will definitely be coming back again. Thank you to all the guys there tonight.

Had the best takeaway last Sunday! It was delivered so hot and fresh! Food was plentiful and full of flavour. How hot it was when it arrived deserves a second mention too!!! I unfortunately didn't take any photos as I wanted to get stuck in! Special mention for the madras too 😍OMG

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a fantastic restaurant and I have to say, the food was absolutely outstanding. Another amazing meal at The Light of Asia. The chicken chat starter is world class. I followed this up by one of the fish curry dishes, again really good. I highly recommend this friendly high class establishment

Real Indian, good Value for Money

Avoid, the food was bland and undercooked. The same chicken was used in different dishes with the gravy changed. It was chewy and hard like a few days old.

What a fabulous restaurant. Staff were friendly. Food was absolutely delicious. Cooked fresh and lovely & hot delivered to the table. Would highly recommend a visit. We will most definitely be returning!

Good food, but just looked at prices on menu, and I was over charged by a fiver ish.

We also normally enjoy curry from light of Asia but unfortunately tonight was not great. Both curry’s as agreeed were very bland. No curry taste at all. It’s a shame too because you expect to still have a good tasting curry especially with the prices raise on the menu.

Ordered online which was very easy. Food was ready for me to collect at the stated time but most importantly it tasted amazing! We ordered a selection of starters and mains which all went down a treat. Staff are always friendly and polite.

The food and service in the Light of Asia is really outstanding. For my starter I shared a “Light of Asia Platter”, then followed up with a superb main course of chicken Korai, teamed up with boiled rice and a plain naan bread. Non drinkers...

Over the pandemic their takeaways were class. But now we’re back in person things are even better. The dine-in experience is absolutely the best in town.
