Amazing food and service, highly recommend. Full English breakfast was out of this world. Will be back to try some Thai food next time.

Visited last Saturday. Looked clean. Spent a while looking over the menu and discussed it with owner. My wife’s dish was described by the owner as something everyone eats regularly in Thailand. I hope they don’t eat overly salted mince meat without the promised chilli’s. My red curry was thinner than soup, had virtually no chicken and vegetables. The portion size was also very poor. We hadn’t had breakfast and were hungry so ate it (luckily there wasn’t much to eat). Very poor, perhaps they do a good English breakfast!

Quick service, brilliant food! Lovely chef and staff. We had the chicken pad Thai, garlic chicken stir fry and prawn fried rice. Would recommend 👍🏻

Was going about rushing here and there this morning and feeling famished, I drifted subconsciously towards Ponty indoor market where I was thinking of grabbing a quick fresh roll maybe with a bit of home made ham, anyhow, going in into the market, I saw The Thai Cafe thought would give it a try. What a delicious discovery! Had two dishes! Can’t wait to go back again! Excellent affordable food - Great!

Wow. What a surprising find. As someone who has spent a lot of time in Thailand I was eager to try when I saw it. Ordered the Kra Pao and it really hit the spot. As good as I had in Thailand. Tip ask for a fried egg too. Prices very reasonable. Fantastic service. They seem to have loyal customers too.

Come here least twice a week always lovely food. I've tried nearly the whole menu and never been disappointed. And to top it off you get two amazing owners that are friendly and always helpful. Thanks lewi and Joe... xx

Left with a bad taste in my mouth and hole in my pocket. Despite expressing how disappointed we were with all three dishes we ordered (2 of which we left) full payment was taken and just an apology. The Panang Curry was way too salty (told that's how it is) the Beef Pad Thai dish the pad Thai noodles were stuck together uncooked and the beef over cooked and the special fried rice with pork was saturated in oil and completely unpalatable daughter only managed two spoonfuls. The pork was pork belly so very fatty. Extremely disappointed by the lack quality, the waiters response to our disappointment and this was after having to wait over half an hour even though quiet. Feel like I've been robbed. UPDATE 28/8: ON TOP OF ALL THIS MY WIFE HAS BEEN ILL WITH FOOD POISIONING ALL NIGHT MOST LIKELY FROM THE CURRY

Had a lovely lunch here. We both had Thai dishes which we requested be cooked with authentic Thai heat. We were not disappointede, very spicy but with great flavours. We also had the spring rolls whci we also both enjoyed. Will definitely be back again, a hidden gem in Ponty market. If you want authentic Thai food freshly cooked for you this is the place to go.

Had the Chicken Lap and spring rolls. Hands down the best Thai food I have had. The owners are lovely, and everything is such good value for top quality. I especially recommend the spring rolls, never had better.

My friend & I came across the cafe by accident & decided to check out the menu, it looked really good so we took the chance. I ordered Prawn Tom Yum & my friend got the Vegetable Green Curry. It didn’t take long to arrive & the man serving us was very polite, the chef was a fabulous cook!! It took me ages to eat as it was so flavourful, the prawns were cooked perfectly and the soup had so much flavour, I had chips with it which I found quite amusing but it worked really well! My friend also loved her curry, it was very cheap for what we got, it was definitely top quality food. Definitely going to visit again soon!

For 2, we ordered a thai red beef curry and thai green chicken curry along with a side of spring rolls. Food came very quickly although they were busy (as it was a Saturday afternoon) and service again was great. The food was superb! You can tell the chef knows their flavours. Portion size was very good considering the price (£6.50 for curry with rice or chips). The meals of others around us also looked very impressive and smelt lovely from afar. The curries were fragrant and were deep in flavour. Chips were okay and rice was very good. Spring rolls were brilliantly crisp, a very impressive size and filled with a tasty filling! Whilst being served with a side salad and sweet chilli sauce, the price for £4.50 is very reasonable for what is clearly homemade and most importantly, filling and tasty! For less than £20 we had a large meal each and we were very satisfied! Definitely will be coming back! Thanks again!

Food full of flavour and spices. The amazing quality of food you'd expect to pay 5 times the price for in a posh restaurant. Very friendly and helpful owners. Very homely feel.

Staff were friendly, but the radio was on pretty loud with loads of Thai talking in the background (if it was Thai music would've been better at least), I had the thai green beef curry with rice..nice flavours, but very watery, not much beef..also the rice was stone cold in some parts, even though she'd warmed it in the microwave before serving it!! The spring rolls were huge, but tasted like they were filled with a chicken pot noodle...which wasn't very Thai tasting..also I ordered a milkshake, to be then served a glass of nesquik!! Also the temperature of the milk felt like the fridge needed turning up, I took one mouthful & left the rest... however like I said the staff were friendly, but I won't be returning unfortunately

Great afternoon spent here. Pad Thai for mum and daughter (who loves spicy food and massive prawns so was well served) massaman for me and chicken nuggets for fussy son. Delicious. So glad we found it and tried this place. Highly reccomened

Lovely, tasty, healthy and plentiful dishes here. The spring rolls are astounding. They are huge and full of flavour. The Yum Tom soup is delicious and everything is freshly cooked with great ingredients. The staff are great. Friendly and chatty. You can tell they love what they do and it comes across in the service and the dishes themselves. Thanks for the great lunch!

How have we missed this place. Been there 9 years and only now we've found it. For the quality and price would have to say fantastic. Had a red Thai chicken curry, beef stir fry (both came with either rice or chips in the price) and spring rolls... All for under £18.. Will no longer wait until Cardiff to get food, will be stopping off in Ponty from now on.... Well done on having such a great little cafe. Thanks.

The staff were lovely and the prices are superb. The food we had did not take long and was delicious. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to eat in ponty.

The prices have gone up by around 30% in the last year or two and the portions have gotten slightly smaller. It is no longer good value for money which is a shame because they are a lovely couple and the food is delicious. You're pricing yourself out of someone stopping by and getting food for a lunch break or at least coming back after realising the portion size. With tax cuts on food and rate relief you should be reducing your prices to become more attractive and when that all ends and 40% of the high street closes, people won't have the money to spend £9 on a lunch with no drink or side. My suggestion is to do a take out tuesday or fiver friday. Just a suggestion.

Had a lunch here recently again, the panang curry was lovely. We make it to here from Barry when we fancy Thai food because it is definitely worth the trip!

Visited on recommendation by friend. Lovely Tai food cooked freshly by tai lady who knew how to prepare authentic meals which were reasonably priced. Live about thirty miles away but well worth the journey. Will take friends

I love Thai food and pay good money in a resteraunts the value for money here is nothing short of outstanding. I had a beautiful pad Thai. Also we had our son who is only 10 months and they made a fuss of him and didn't need to very friendly.

The food was good and service was good. Only thing the Tom yam soup was too sour either than that is good.

If you want honest, authentic food - a service with a smile - nothing matches Lewi's Thai Café. Situated in Ponty Market (indoor), it looks like a standard café (you can have the eggs, beans, bacon, eggs etc.) and then there's the luscious homemade thai food. Amazing tastes and flavours - the Pad Thai Chicken does it for me every time

I love the food here. Lewi is awesome. Her British food and Thai are equally good. The service is always great and with a smile.
