Possibly the best Lebanese food in Portsmouth, the staff are welcoming and attentive, we started with hummus and tzatziki. The hummus was smooth and flavourful and the tzatziki was perfectly seasoned and filled with cucumber. I had the mixed grill with rice (pictured) however there are options for chips or salad. The meat was juicy and perfectly cooked. The portion size was large and takeaway boxes and bag are provided for leftovers. We sat inside which provided a good atmosphere and dining experience, previously i sat outside where you can order shish pipes in a variety of flavours and a corkage charge for bringing your own drinks, the garden is covered and has heaters to keep you warm

Very good food. The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was getting quite busy and had a really nice atmosphere. BYOB which makes the bill much cheaper. Three for two mezze offer Sunday to Thursday. Our only negative comment would be about the toilet area which needs refurbishing as felt old and grimy.

Leilamezze has had a facelift in the last year and it looks lovely. We have been there a few times now. During summer the outdoors can get busy. It is often quiet indoors. The people up front are always welcoming and polite. Service is swift and food arrives much quicker than you expect. Both the cold meze and hot meze are good. Hummus kavurma being our favourite as the meat is tender and the hummus is so creamy. They mixed grill with a right amount of salad along with the sumac kissed fries are all delightful. We also love their mint tea. Overall it has become one of our family's favourite spot. Tasty food that is good value for money. Remember though they don't serve alcohol however you can BYO.

Food took more than 40 minutes to arrive which was surprising as there were only two other tables eating and they had already received their food. The shawarma was quite nice. Mixed grill was great, the cuts of meat were tender. Only complaint about the food is it could have been hotter, and became cold very fast. It was very cold in the restaurant so this could explain it, and it wasn’t served on hot plates either. Besides that it was very nice. Also there were a few flies disturbing my table. Overall I would definitely recommend it as the food was nice but I’d hope it will be a bit faster and the heating will be on inside.

Wonderful halal Lebanese restaurant that serves delicious shawarma and salads. Went with a group attending a conference. The restaurant staff were kind enough to accommodate all 15 of us on a cold Wednesday evening. I ordered the meat shawarma with fries for £10. The dish was simple but the meat was generous and the fries crisp and made to order. It was very filling and miles ahead of the average corner kebab shop. The premise is clean and tidy. The same can't be said about the area next to the washroom, however, as there was a stray bike in a storage closet with the door ajar. The toilets themselves were adequate. The staff are friendly and professional and the food is served in a timely manner. All-in-all a good place to have a proper, homely shawarma in the evening. Just bear in mind that they have a strict no outside food policy.

Food took 40 mins to come, berry drink was £5 and did not drink it, syrup was not mixed at all it was literally 95% water. Some of the food on the mixed plate was cold when eaten, burnt food. Tiny lamb chops. Service was good. Nice staff. Drink was horrible. Food was not worth the price.

Came here for an early evening meal with a couple of school friends before a concert at the Guildhall. Varied menu with a good mix of cold and hot meze plus main dishes, wraps and desserts. Plenty for vegetarians (me) but my meat eating friends were happy too. Food was well presented and the meze were delicious. Friendly service and very reasonably priced. Note they don’t serve alcohol, but you can bring your own beer or wine.)

Best Lebanese food in Portsmouth

I had been wanting to try here for a while and I'm pleased that I did. There are loads of vegan options and the portions are large and reasonably priced. The food was delicious and we took some home as we couldn't eat it all. I think the restaurant is more suited to visiting with a group of friends rather than as a date night as the restaurant is quite loud. If I was to visit again I would request a better table as we were seated under the bar by the front door and it was quite cold and there wasn't the space to sit opposite each other. I'd definitely like to return and try some other things on the menu.

Lovely place. Really relaxed atmosphere. We sat indoors, but there is a really cool outside area out the back. Menu has lots of choice and prices were really good. The food was delicious and the service was great. Liked that we could take our own wine. Will definitely go back.

Really nice food and service. I went on a Thursday night so it was fairly quiet so the service felt quick, but not rushed. I was a little worried that the prices may have been a bit high, but I didn't need to as the portions were generous and the quality of ingredients exceptional. I would say the music was maybe a little loud but that could be due to the lower background noise not covering it so much, as mentioned it was a quieter night. Will definitely be coming again

Leilamezze-Lebanese restaurant has a feel good factor to it and chilled atmosphere, a good meeting place for catch-ups over great food and cocktails!

I'd never heard of this place until I was invited out for a friends birthday. Tucked down a little side street off a main road, I assumed it to be quiet... IT WAS NOT! You see, the food is absolutely incredible, the staff are lovely, and the seating areas were clean and cosy! It's no wonder they're so popular. Highly recommend the chicken and halloumi wrap 👌🏼

The Worst experience: - they served bread cold , they should make it just tiny hot .uch much nicer. - Tea was so old and dark , not fresh at all. - Lamb shish was so chewing, very low quality meat . - No any kids meniue option . - just one option for ice cream ( vanilla) was like put milk in the fridge, not like any any ice cream . . Complete waste of time and money 😕

Finally got round to trying leilamezze after wanting to try it for years and it did not disappoint. Chose a selection of hot and cold mezze to share with my husband and all of it was incredible. The decor and atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and welcoming. Would have loved to try out the garden area but was a rainy evening. Slightly disappointed that they were out of the homemade Pistachio ice-cream but just gives me a reason to go back I guess! Thank you Leilamezze; we'll be back and will recommend to everyone.

The food was delicious and the shisha was good. However the waiters seemed to be always on a rush. We would appreciate it if they can stand still for a minute to listen to the order fully.

Went here for my mums birthday and it was absolutely amazing, the food was amazing and fresh, the waitress was brilliant, she chose a Shisha flavour for us which was lovely! Lady behind the bar was brilliant aswell, and checked up frequently on our mock tails! Amazing place

I am already a regular but this time I came with my whole family to celebrate my graduation and everything exceeded my expectations. Delicious food, amazing environment and friendly and helpful staff. Leilamezze will be the first place I bring family and friends when they come to visit town.

We booked a table at short notice for a Saturday night at 7pm , on arrival the staff greeted us well and the place was full , the restaurant is child friendly however there was a family with 4 teenage girls who you let their children jump up and down from their table without any consideration for other people dining , the food is very good , the mixed grill and salad is very filling , they do not sell alcohol but you can bring your own wine and there is a corkage charge , they also have a nice garden area where the smokers congregate , we had a good meal and will return .

A restaurant in two halves. Inside is calm, refined, relaxed. Outside in the Shisha garden it’s clubby, a little bit edgy and a younger crowd. Food is really very good. Clearly cooked from scratch and with passion. A really great experience

A month ago I was in Portsmouth and had the best food at leilamezze. The service is great and fast. The atmosphere is comfortable and warm. I highly recommend it.

Big bump, just take it like this. Hummus, bread + Salad = £15 minimum. Two wraps, and two drinks (wrap the size of the palm) = £30 - The wraps were filled with chilli sauce I couldn’t even taste the actual food inside it. Rip off prices on their foods which are basic and drinks for a place that’s mainly filled with students. Utterly embarrassing. I would rather go subway around the corner and order a footlong for £6

Myself and my friends decided to meet here for some food and to catch up after seeing such good reviews and excellent social media posts advertising lovely food, however we all left feeling very disappointed. We booked a table for 6pm, and although originally seated outside we requested to move indoors as there was an awful lot of flies buzzing around. The waitress offered us a booth indoors to which we sat and spent some time deciding on what to have. The waitress came and took our order, and that was the one and only time we were approached of her own accord (any other time we had to approach her and ask). We did not have the chance to order any more drinks - we were given the drinks we ordered along with our food and that was it. Multiple customers came and went in the time we were sat there, with their tables being seen to multiple times and dirty dishes being cleared quickly. However, we ate our food and had our dirty dishes sat on the table for a good hour and a half, which we stacked ourselves. The waitress cleaned all of the other tables around us... I'm uncertain if we became invisible? We managed to catch her eye, and asked for another round of drinks and we wanted to order some desserts. Some of these drinks never materialised which meant we were having to get up and follow these up. I did ask the waitress for the bill, which never arrived so we had to approach the bar once more and pay while stood in front of the waitress at the bar. We were all quite surprised to see they had gone as far to put a 10% service charge on our bill, despite the waitress only ever taking one order from us and the rest of the times it was us getting up to find someone! We did not pay this service charge as we felt the service we had was not good at all. Due to the length of time this whole thing took, we ended up leaving just before 11pm and having to spend a small fortune on parking. The food was pretty average and I personally wasn't wow'ed for the price we paid. By 9pm-10pm the smell from the smoke from the shishas outside could be smelt inside the restaurant. In terms of price, I felt it was on the pricier side with a few scoops of ice cream being £5! I wouldn't recommend this restaurant unfortunately, and I felt we had a very poor experience for the price we paid. It is a shame for the business too, as we would have likely spent more on drinks and such had we have not been ignored.

Family dinner. Place is rather basic and have an outdoor garden for smokers. Good very good and service fast. No alcool is served inside but you can bring you own stuff with no additional cost. Classic Lebanese dishes on the menu

I loved the mixed grill the size portion is great for sharing among 2 and the fattosh salad was well dressed and fresh . Meat hummus is highly recommended.

Ridiculous I ordered for take away and they priority all the online delivery and kept me wait for long time and even gave the wrong order. I ordered for two shawarma but mistakenly gave only one shawarma. Shamed the food is good but the front staff lady isnt polite and isnt good communication.

This seems to be an authentic Lebanese restaurant serving a wide variety of mezzes as well as kebabs and grills. We had a selection of mezzes (7) which was enough for a full meal. This is a bring your own drink place which makes for a fairly cheap night out. Friendly service and reasonably priced.

Not very busy when I walked in ,so quick service more people came in as the night when on Simple menu a tad pricey for what it is Had the chicken wrap was ok asked for fries and extra halloumi ,don't think I got the extra halloumi ! Wasn't asked if I wanted and anything else what food was given like sauces, some of the fries where under cooked as had bad stomach cramp afterwards and need the toilet as soon as I got back to the hotel! At least they say they charge you for service charge but still should be optional if you leave a tip or not ! Probably wouldn't go back if in the area again as lots of restaurants close by .

We both thought the quality of the meat was good, nice rice etc. However Mrs B got hers served on bread after clearly being identified as GF by the manager, he did get it changed halfway through to be fair Quite expensive in my opinion.

I went on a overnight trip to Portsmouth and found this HALAL restaurant as a walk-in customer. It is about 12 mins walk from Gunwharf quays area and pre-booking of tables is recommended as it gets crowded very early especially on weekends. I ordered Lentil soup, Fatoush Salad, Babaganouj and Lamb Shishtouk. The portion size was awesome. The taste was one of the best. The service was too good to be rated here as 5 stars. Highly recommended for friends and families who want to enjoy authentic Lebanese food.

Upon arrival the outside isn’t appealing, it looks like a pub on the outside, but once you enter the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Interior is nice and comfortable. Seated quickly and food was served promptly.

There was not enough options for the main dish. The food and service is not bad.

I tried two years ago but it wasn’t good enough, I went back again after two years and food quantity was better than before. hummus and meat dish was delicious but the only problem was cold meat. This is my favourite food and usually serve meat hot but the taste of meat was good and hummus was very smooth. Shawarma was good as well. Fattoush salad was fresh. The big problem for me was the cold weather in the restaurant and cold bread they served. They didn’t turn on any heaters and restaurants was very cold. We had plan to stay there and drink tea but it was too cold. Service was good.

Good food (for the most part), but leaves a lot to be desired. My first disappointment was drinks, they do not have alcohol, which is not a big problem as this is quite common with this kind of cousine but the prices for soft drinks are on the high side, not only that but out of the 5 drinks we wanted 3 of them were not available. Food was good, except for some of the wraps, my friend was disappointed with his veggie wrap and my kofta wrap was just that, just kofta meat wrapped in flat bread, no salad or veggies to speak of. Mixed grill aswell as starters were really nice. Portion sizes are small, I would recommend getting a mixed grill if you are hungry, it might be shareable in 2 if you are getting starters. The biggest problem for this restaurant is that all the other middle Eastern restaurants are better, I've been in a few dozen, and this is the only one that didn't give me starters and baklava with tea as part of the service charge. If this is your first middle Eastern experience you'll probably love it, some of my friends did, but know that there are better options out there

On arrival, I noticed they were quite busy. The young lady found me a table. The Hummus was really creamy. I prefer it with a bit more lemon, nevertheless it was delicious. The lentil soup was nice and had a few peices of baked/fried bread? Unsure what it was but it tasted really nice. The portion sizes were large too! 😀! The Shawarma wrap was really big. The fries were a bit underdone for me. Overall an enjoyable experience. Definitely a nice place to come to eat when in Portsmouth. Oh BTW, it's halal too!

Food was nice, recommend babaganoush, some of the food was only luke warm when it arrived. Staff friendly. However it was so cold! Even staff kept scarf and jackets on!!!

First time visiting the city and restaurant. Overnight stay before morning ferry meant a meal out and this was close to the hotel. Staff were friendly and welcoming, service was great and quick, generous portions and the food was amazing. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and to return. Thank you.

Top drawer food! We really struggled to find gluten free friendly vegan places in Portsmouth and this ticked all of the boxes. We had a mixture of mains and hot mezze and everything was a great standard. Very happy with the price and quality and will be back

Have visited once before with a large group of 10 friends and we had an assortment of small plates which was absolutely delicious….mainly vegetarian with some meat.. this time I went with a group of 4 and we decided to each have our own meal....

Blimey. £19.95 for a lamb Shish. That’s expensive by anyones standard. Hope is gold plated and bourne by naked women when it arrives!

Food was tasty but was charged an extra £20.00 for service charge
