Leeja Tandoori in Hinckley and Bosworth

We decided to try something to eat from here to take away. The menu choice is very large. We had poppadoms with some dips, I had the chicken tikka masala which was really good and there was a good amount of chicken (more than other places we have been to which you are lucky if you get 5 pieces of meat). The naan breads we had were cheese and the other keema both were good. Overall the food was really good, the location is good in town. The place was quiet so didn't have to wait long for our food. Would recommend this place.

I’ve eaten in the Leeja since 1987 but this evenings experience was simply awful. Not enough staff, took far too long to order our 5 meals and 3 out of the 5 were incorrect. Two chicken Karahi’s were served as Korma’s and when replaced the meat had been swapped into another meal that had no resemblance to a Karahi. The other meal was bland with no spice and we were informed that the kitchen had forgotten to add any. It’s a great shame.

Ordered food from here as we have for many years, we ordered a tandoori mixed grill which has always come with a vegetable curry and naan bread, it did not arrive with either, upon a phone call to the restaurant I was told these have never come with the dish in the 2 years the employee has worked there, this is a blatant lie as we have had the dish regularly, they are not willing to admit when they have made a mistake with an order and will lie through their teeth, we will not order again and hope others take heed

Once again, an absolutely beautiful meal this evening at the Leeja restaurant. We had our elderly parents with us, we hadn't taken them here before but they absolutely loved their visit. The staff are always so welcoming and we're just lovely and patient with the in-laws, and happy to have a joke with them. The menu is extensive and the food this evening was just amazing as always. I had the Seabass and devoured it. The pace is always perfect, you're not rushed and the restaurant has a calming feel about it. I've seen some reviews about the restaurant being expensive. It's not a cheap Indian restaurant, no, but if you just want a basic curry and rice after having a night on the beers then maybe this isn't the right place for you anyway. If you want something a little more refined with genuinely lovely staff and deliciously tasty food then Leeja's your place. Would be a great place to take customers and work colleagues if you wanted to impress with a restaurant with great service and great food Thank you to all the staff, we had a great evening,v and my father-in-law said his Lamb Rogan Josh was the best he'd ever had.

£33 for 2 of us… 2 popadoms, chicken nuggets & chips, Paneer Curry, Pilau Rice and chips?! Sooo expensive, paneer was squishy and tasteless like tofu, I left half of the curry until the next day, ended up taking a picture as I was shocked at how much oil is in this, can see from the pictures, used to be good quality years ago. I will use other cheaper curry houses from now.

Too expensive! One pint of Soda & Lime £5.90. We chose from the ‘special £15.95 menu’ & our main course had 6 small pieces of chicken & lots of sauce. We were told the ‘Specials menu’ is NOW a small portion, having eaten their every week for 3 months (received a normal mains portion) we WILL NOT go again, poor!

First time having a delivery from Leeja. Absolutely gorgeous piping hot food. We shall be reordering again. Well done Leeja!

Went for a meal on an unexpectedly quiet evening. Only two other couples in the restaurant. Without their takeaway service they would be closed!! Service was excellent. They hadn't got what i wanted so was offered an alternative. Excelled in the replacement amount. Lovely service touches to finish - warmed hand towel, complementary coffee and chocolate. Would return.

Been here tonight excellent meal food cooked just right not been for a while staff very helpful great atmosphere shouldn't say this but the best Indian in hinckley. Will be back soon.

Missed a meal out of our delivery order for the second time in a row. Had to wait half hour for the missing dish to arrive by then the rice and nan were cold. Certainly wasnt worth the wait as the dish was bland when it arrived. Plenty of good indian takeaways but this isnt one of them

I went to Leeja 3 nights ago as that’s my most favourite place for a curry, good waiter’s, top boss, can’t fault the food and staff, good atmosphere. Keep up good work Leeja

We were patrons for some time, always had good food, we moved away from Hinckley, but visited and decided to enjoy a meal at the Leeja. It was quiet when we went in, the waiter who has been there for some time was rather uninterested and took us to a table. We were asked for our drinks order, we asked for some water along with our drinks. The drinks arrived, but, we had to ask three times for water. We ordered our food and the waiter took away our side plates, obviously he had not heard that we wanted poppadum’s etc., plates returned. The poppadum’s were ok, but they have changed the serving dishes for the chutney and pickle, you get very little and it's disappointingly expensive for what it was, the yoghurt sauce was rather thin. Ok.. the starters, I ordered a King Prawn Puri, what I got was not what I was expecting r had previously had, the puri resembled an Aunty Bessy Yorkshire pudding, it was dense, bulked up and devoid of any seasoning or taste. The Prawns and sauce were also at best bland but very expensive. The other starter was a tikka paneer, which was fine.. The main arrived, my chicken tikka Balti was ok, the naan was appallingly bad, it was again tasteless and very dry, a little like eating dry cardboard. The rice came in a small pot, the pit was too hot to touch, making the rice very dry. The side order of Onion Baji was poor, 4 small potions, again lacked any seasoning and at £4, it was not good value. The service was poor and we had to try and get the attention of the staff to pay the bill, they seemed distracted and totally uninterested. The payment method was insulting, the request for “tips” started at 10% and went up, who on earth would add 25% to the bill?. Overall, not a great experience both staff and food were poor, it’s with a heavy heart that I post this, but we shall not be returning, the quality of the food is low and their prices has shot up.

Ordered the combo box and a chicken pathia last night . The box could easily feed 3 people . The pathia was outstanding as always . The chicken was nice and soft and the curry sauce had a kick whilst the combo box has a bit of everything 👌

Been here a few times but the last couple of times the food has been poor. Was hoping it would get better after being disappointed last time, however, I was disappointed again and won't order again. Food arrived cold and the meat in the curry was chewy.

Went on eat out promotion which was not a pleasant experience, there was no social distancing whatsoever every table was full and the entrance was crowded. The food itself was very expensive on the menu and much more than we have ever paid in an Indian restaurant. The food itself was ok, my meal was fine but my husbands was awful. We will definitely not be going here again.

We regularly order a delivery on a Saturday evening as Leeja is by far the best curry in the area. The mains and starters are delicious and I thoroughly recommend them. The only tjink that stops me rating as 5 star is that the pappadoms are hit and miss as there sre times when you feel they hsvd been around for a but or the oil hasn't been at its best, which us strange as they are always lovely when you dine in. My only other gripe us they never send an itemised bill with your order so you have to trust they've charged you correctly. Give it a try though and see what you think.

Order was placed on Saturday 2nd May 2020. My partner and family have been loyal customers to Leeja for several years and I have never once had a bad experience with you. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the takeaway that I collected on the date in question.I placed an order worth £38.00 and I travelled over from Burbage to collect it. Unfortunately, it was only after I returned to my home in Burbage that I realised a main dish, one side of rice and one naan bread was missing from the order. This gave me no option but to drive back to the Leeja to be told that one member of your staff had forgotten to give me a second bag containing the rest of my order. I can appreciate that these are unprecedented times and you must be both short staffed and incredibly busy, but this simply isn't acceptable.To then not even have the offer of cooking the now lukewarm meal again or some form of heartwarming apology, I find absolutely awful. The person who I dealt with simply said ‘next time you call, let us know and we will sort you out’. No name, number or details taken . . . Sadly, I am sceptical to ever place another order with Leeja due to the poor customer service that I have received, let alone that you will remember me to compensate my next order.Finally, when we eventually returned home with our full order we had to reheat our main courses, rice and naan in the oven whilst we ate our lukewarm starters. After reheating the main courses, I was left with nothing but disappointment. I order the same dish each time I eat from the Leeja, a chicken pathia. The dish that I ate last night was not the delicious and high quality chicken pathia that I expected from yourselves. I could taste nothing but tomatoes, it wasn't spicy in the slightest and it really was not pleasant. My partner was even more dissatisfied with his salmon masala, leading him to feel ill and unable to finish his inedible meal. I have attached an image of this incredibly oily dish.To say that I am disappointed with the customer service and quality of the food is an understatement. I have also sent an email to this effect but have waited over a week and no response. It would be nice to receive a response, so that I can discuss this experience further.It feels like standards have really slipped, this was reflected in both the service and the food.

Officially our new favourite curry house in Hinckley. The food was reasonably priced & beautifully cooked. Also pleasantly surprised by the portion size. Would highly recommend for takeaway. Looking forward to eating in once lockdown is lifted.

This is our first takeaway from here. It was probably one of the best Indians we have ever had. The lamb pathia was tender and beautifully spiced the rice was lovely and breads excellent. We will definitely be using again. Highly recommended.

A massive thumbs up to the Leeja. I finished a 12 hour shift for the NHS during the Covid crisis and felt that I deserved a treat. Ordered a takeaway from the Leeja and was greeted by a massive thank you from the owner for the work being done and he refused to take payment from me. On reflection businesses are scraping a living during lock down and must make money where they can so there is an economy when this is all over. Sacrificing payment from even one customer is huge gesture during these times. The Leeja is certainly doing its bit and deserves our support when lockdown is over. And the food was exceptionally good.

Atmosphere & service were fine, but some of the food was really poor. The onion bhajis was squashed into a hard lozenge and inedible, the lamb chops were dry and massively overcooked & the paratha was like a thick, rubbery chappatti. Nice house red though.

Had a great night with a party of 10 from workGreat service from start to finish, don’t be put off by the frontage, it’s a really nice restaurant inside, plenty of room, big tables, white tablecloths The menu is extensive but we chose from the £12.95 3 course menu, which offers a starter, main, rice and nan.Amazing value, plenty of choice, good portions and quality ingredients .I had the chicken tikka starter- excellent served with cooked peppers and onions , followed by a chicken curry, pilau rice and Peshawar nanMy only gripe was that there was no non-alcoholic Cobra beer on offer, or any non alcoholic beer available other than that a great place to be recommended

Ate here on saturday 11th jan 2020. Extensive menu to choice. We didn't have a starter and when the mains came, we were glad we hadn't as all of the portions were very generous in size and extremely tasty.. waiters were attentive and extremely pleasant without it being too much. Nothing is too expensive, but to be honest, if it was I would still go back..Will definitely be visiting again and would 100% recommend Leeja Tandoori again.. I'm not quite surewhat "Jody H' thought shewas reviewing but I find it extremely unlikely it was this restaurant, and of course there is always the one that put a poor review just for the thrill of doing it..Please don't be put off with her review, as it's no reflection at all on The Leeja Tandoori!

We go here on a regular basis and we are never disappointed. Service is always friendly and happy to help on what the dishes are. Food is excellent and would always recommend the Leeja to friends.

Went here with friends as we often do but was very disappointed with the overall service we recieved. Were greeted with a mardy and abrupt waiter. Starters were lovely but on bringing main course they had got one of our dishes wrong. Mains were tasteless. After receiving the mains we were forgotten about and not approached again until we stopped the waiter to ask for coffee and dessert. We were then told no we cant have coffee so asked for dessert then stormed off. We were not given a choice of dessert and was just brought a spoon of ice cream that was slammed down on the table. The waiter then snatched the money from us when we went up to counter to pay because we did not have bill brought over to us. Overall poor service. Very dissatisfied. Will not to be visiting again!!!

My wife and I took kids for lovely meal in early evening. Place was starting to fill as we were leaving. Nice decor. Kingfisher lager on tap. Staff were prompt and helpful. Great service. Highly recommend.

Another fabulous meal. The food is very tasty and there is a great variety. Half and half dishes are great. The staff are very friendly and efficient, and they make you feel appreciated rather than an imposition. I recommend Leeja to anyone. The bill at the end of the night was very reasonable for six adults.

We always enjoy a meal out at the Leeja but i must say the food and the service was the best we have experienced last night. The Staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy customers, we will definitely be back soon, Thank you! Also very reasonably priced with great deals.

The leeja has a new chef..... The food used to be beautiful. Sadly not anymore, lamb balti was awful, meat was over cooked and chewy. My partners curry was over seasoned with salt and was awful.

It was my grandsons 18th birthday and he wanted to have an Indian, so my daughter chose Leeja's. There were 10 in the party, so booked a table for 8pm. When we arrived the table wasn't ready and we were asked to take a seat. Eventually the table was ready and we all took our seats and ordered drinks which were a bit slow in coming, should have realised this was to be the pattern of the evening. After taking our orders, it was a long wait for the starters, then the same for our mains, in fact at 10.05 we had to ask them when our food was coming as we had taxi's booked for 11.00pm! We got our mains soon after, but because of the slow service it spoilt the evening and the cake my daughter had made never got to the table. She complained to the manager and was told that there was another party being held there which was for 20 people and they were short staffed. They knew that before we arrived and was their problem and will make me think twice before going there again which is a shame as the food was lovely.

Best around. Food is delicious and the service is excellent. We have eaten at many good places but the Leeja beats them all.

The atmosphere as soon as you walk in is inviting. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. We were quickly seated and welcomed. The service was just right. I was spoilt with the large menu choice and was definitely not disappointed with the food. It looked delicious and tasted just as nice as it looked. Couldn’t fault anything. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Lovely.

Haven’t visited the Leeja in a while and pleased to see it hasn’t lost its charm. Food was very flavoursome and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Lots of staff so no issues with service, if anything it was nice to be asked several times if our meal was good.

It’s been a while since we visited the Leeja and was worth the wait. The staff were very friendly, the food very well presented and also very tasty. They are also able to create a dish to suite your preferences (eg strength etc) Highly recommended

Visited this excellent restaurant for the first time this evening and I had a wonderful meal topped off with very friendly and efficient staff in very nice surroundings. There is a wide choice of food on the menu, I can't wait to try it all.

Went here tonight for a lovely meal with my wifes parents. The service was brilliant, the staff did everything they could to make you feel welcome and the turnaround time between courses was spot on. The presentation on the food was stunning, like something out of master chef. Most importantly is the flavour, very tasty food at this place and the Dail Samba i ordered was very flavourful. Come dine here and you'll have a very tasty meal served by very friendly accommodating staff

I go here with some friends reasonably regularly. The staff are always very welcoming and are great hosts, the food is always really tasty and the atmosphere is great, although we only go on weekday evenings. There is a meal deal offer that gives you a lot of options for about £11. That’s a starter, main rice and naan.

Our return to the Leeja was ruined by an over zealous manager who insisted the £10 voucher received on the visit before was only accepted on a certain meal. Pity the voucher 10 pound off was in type face 24 and the conditions was in type face 2. Well we will not revisit this mediocre curry house again. The title says it all really. It was my first visit to this restaurant. I was impressed with the service, the staff were very helpful, polite and helpful. The food was lovely and good portions. I'll definitely go again.

We come here regularly for a girls night, food is always excellent and the £10.95 banquet menu is brilliant, so much choice. Have been to other Indians but this one is the best in Hinckley! Recommended to everyone.

First visit to this restaurant. Food was ok, but a little small on the rice portions. Drinks service was slow considering a party of eager drinkers. Would need to visit again as a couple before offering final judgement

I’ve eaten at the Leeja twice now and the second time was definitely better than the first - purely down to the fact that I tried something new, instead of my go to option.

Recently visited on a Thursday Evening with my family terrific deal Mon - Thurs £10.95 for 3 courses quality of food was very good and all presented to a very high standard well worth a visit

We have started using place a lot more especially for takeaway, we live a couple of villages away and out of town but they still deliver, up to now, we haven’t had a bad meal a great range of different dishes are on the menu .

Me & my husband fancied a curry. So made a quick decision to go to the Leeja. As we have been many times before. Never had the 3 course special though. So thought we would give it a go. All of my husbands food was as lovely as previous visits. Mine wasn't. The onion bhajis were tasted too much of the batter, rather than an onion taste. I chose the chicken Mango Curry for my main, I was really looking forward to this. As i've had it on previous visits. The sauce was runny & the chicken had been marinated in what i presume was Tikka. The chicken was sliced rather than chunks and it tasted dry and the marinate did not go with the mango Curry sauce. So I was very dissapointed, as this was a favourite dish of mine. I did mention that I didn't enjoy it to the waiter, he said nothing has changed with it! Clearly it has! Presentation was excellent & the service is very good. I just feel the food wasnt as good as previous visits.

Decided on a change for the curry tonight , we have not been here for a while, we have always liked the food here and tonight was no different, good service, presentation and the food was great, we will probably use a bit more often

Food was delivered on time however the delivery driver apologised for it taking so long. Order was correct and hot. I will recommend the garlic roshni. It was amazing. Got a free popadom and chutney dip!! Fantastic x x x

When odering the food said it would be arriving at 8.05pm finally arrived at 8.35pm after me calling them asking where my order was as i ordered at 7pm

Was on work training course with a colleague an fancied a curry! Searched google an thought we would try it! Staff are very friendly and attentive! Food is beautifully presented and believe me it tastes as good as it looked! We went on a Thursday and ordered off the special menu so was good value! Would definitely return if I'm ever back in the area

thought I'd give it a try. tasty kebab meat but wasn't enjoyable. asked for salad. was just lettuce. I like red onions, tomatoes etc in my kebab. can't fault delivery. thank you for the service but I'll be sticking to my regular place
