Pub is nice but there's too many dogs and dogs shouldn't be allowed where they serve food

It has improved since the New manager started.

Nice pub, and a fun thursday quiz night we go weekly too, only 4 as sometimes the food comes wrong or takes a really long time, but other than that great

This pub just does not seem to improve The seats / chairs are tatty and bare foam spewing out from most cushions It seams the keg beer is never ready Coffee machine not working...or is it? Doors open at 12 noon but no hand-wash in ladies dispenser and apparently no paper in men's toilet Never enough staff working Such a shame its in a prime location with no other pubs to compete with ..maybe this is the problem We have now stopped trying the food there is always a problem This pub is run down and in need of full restoration

Home to the rudest barman in Wimbledon. Honestly, it feels like every customer is an annoyance to him. He's openly rude and abrasive. He's the northern guy with the glasses. Really, really rude to customers. He needs to sort his attitude out. He's been rude on multiple visits. Other than him, nice pub.

We are (semi) regulars here. This pub is a great space for a get together, excellent value, offers the standard pub grub, is friendly and is well equipped for watching sports. On this occasion, I cannot thank James enough for coming to my rescue. He went out of his way to accommodate us all at the last minute for a big birthday celebration, ensuring we had a table reserved and even organising food. He was professional, welcoming, helpful and most of all very patient! So refreshing to have someone who focuses on excellent customer service. Thanks also to Justin who was practically running the busy bar alone for a significant part of the afternoon (more staff please GK). The Leather Bottle is one of the last of the proper pubs.

Really friendly, welcoming pub. We visited on a Friday night and they had a really good selection of wines, James recommended a really nice one for us to try which was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be coming back here.

I drink and eat in the Leatherbottle from time to time and always enjoy the experience. The food is always good. There is a good selection of beers at reasonable prices for a pub so close to Wimbledon. Therefore, I decided to have my retirement drink there. I asked them to provide a buffet for 35 people. They told me to order for half that many as the portions are very generous. We did that and the food was excellent. All of our guests raved about the food. There was plenty to go round. In fact towards the end of the night we asked other customers not in our group to help themselves so none of it went to waste. The staff were very helpful and attentive on the night. Would highly recommend for a function.

Cameron was amazing and extremely professional. He ensured we were looked after tonight and kept on top of our orders. The team at this place is top class and amazing in general.

Always lively when they’ve got an event on and always chill when not. Suitable for most events and they have a great team behind the bar and the kitchen

Drinks are ok as were in bottles. Food are nightmare. The worst experience in UK so far. Sunday roast is not roast beef. The thin slices of beef were pan fried and overcook. The so called award winning chicken pie was even worse than the one from Tesco. After all, we had waited 1 hour 15 mins for the food on a not so busy Sunday afternoon.

The staff went out of their way to make my sons 18th birthday friends and family gathering so personal and lovely. They set up an area for us, laid it out beautifully and then served us with such warmth and friendliness. I highly recommend The Leather Bottle and their amazing staff team.

Absolutely wonderful experience at the Leather Bottle. A warm, welcoming atmosphere with high quality beer and food. Eliza was particularly excellent this evening due to her kind manner and professional, high standard of customer service. 10/10 would recommend to all family and friends :)

Great pub, nice atmosphere and food is decent. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Food took 45 minutes to turn up and I did wonder if the steak was in fact a dogs chew toy. Chips and onion rings were good. Given the length of time it took to arrive I was surprised it wasn't cooked as ordered, rather blue for a medium . The staff/service get good marks as they did try and kept us informed, plus the free drinks as means of compensation went a long way. Perhaps if there are delays in the kitchen, let customers know before they order.

I've eaten here quite a lot as my daughter was at UAL Wimbledon. This is a very nice place. Light, bright, spacious. Room to get away from the sports screens if you want. The vegetarian food is disappointing. The staff do their best but there's never enough of them. It was busy on Weds lunchtime & service was a car crash. The girl serving was serving drinks behind the bar, taking orders, serving & clearing plates. Come on management. Its like this every time I come in. Support your staff.

We chose this traditional local pub for a local family celebration of my father's 90th birthday. The Ruddles Beef Pie, Chicken Katsu curry & Huntman Chicken were all very tasty and recommended. The young and highly attentive staff made the evening. The staff we came in contact with for our party are a credit to Greene King, always helpful and smiling - even when at times they were so busy. We must mention these local heroes... Aaliyah, Justin, Sumeah & Eliza - thanks to you all (and for singing Happy Birthday while bringing the candle lit brownie!).

Great pub good atmosphere nice people

Fantastic lunch time meet-up, with a local friend. Drinks had, only, for a couple of hours. Service was very good, from a stand-in employee, for the day, who was covering, as the pub chain had a general meeting up in London. Atmosphere, in the pub, was pleasant, as always.

Great place but they forgot to fugue the order of one of their customers. On Friday evenings there’s a group of people looking depressed and drinking but I can’t hold it against the pub. Would recommend.

We had our mums funeral wake on 11th July .Food was fantastic and the service was great James and his Staff was so helpful and helpful too.

Visited here after not being in the area for a while, and I have to say, the new menu is really fabulous - perfect for sharing bits with the girls. They had sport on the TVs but it wasn’t oppressive and the atmosphere was lovely - lots of different groups of people. We sat outside in the sun and the bar tender who served us, I think his name was Cameron, looked after us so well, checking on us outside. Now I’m back in the area I think this will become my new local!

Above average green king pub. More reasonable costs than most. Excellent young manager who went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome. Visited 3 times in a 2 week period. Good pint of Landlord and good food. Cocktails are especially good value.

Nice pub. Spacious and clean. Good choice of options on the menu and a great range of drinks and service with a smile. I would definitely recommend this pub. I had a very enjoyable time.

Before plunging in to the negatives I'm going to say that this is a nice enough pub that I will happily use again. Crisp delicious lager served in a spacious pub conveniently located in a leafy corner of southwest London - Ah! What could be nicer on a sunny Friday afternoon? Well, the following things could be nicer: 1) quite slow service at the bar, and even when there's only two people waiting, the bar staff still have absolutely no clue who is next and constantly have to ask. My top tip for improving this pub is to give the bar staff a bit more training and encourage them to pay attention. 2) the nachos are poor. Neither of those things spoiled my overall positive experience, hence the four stars (3 would seem a bit harsh).

Good price for decent food. Had a pint of Guinness and chat with friends, enjoyed the food with friends. This local pub, which would not pack up with people, was a good one.

Popped in for food primarily. Bar service was excellent and the food that we had was delicious. Blue cheese burgers and the hunters chicken were all very tasty and my freinds daughter liked her nuggets. Good service freindly staff. Unavoidable sport so I would be unlikely to frequent, but great for a couple of drinks and food. We'll served by public transport. Very nice interior and overall I am glad that it's still a pub.

Really nice staff as ever. But I'm really disappointed with what happened today. We were there for a party for my 1yr old niece' birthday and therefore our children were there. Two older men were swearing about them (loudly) "disturbing" them watching their football match and acting aggressively. They were also behaving in an intimidating way towards my wife complaining our 1yr old son asleep in the buggy was blocking their way of the door and a "fire hazard". Completely unacceptable behaviour towards a woman and young children in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. They then gave me grief saying it's not a family pub and they shouldn't be there.

Awrsome place. Good selection of beers. Very good food as well.

Good and service generally good. However, don’t order small plate halloumi fries! Tiny portion on a side plate and didn’t even serve with the salsa. They bought it when I asked but when I queried the size and asked if they had confused with a side order (they don’t do it as a side order so shouldn’t be confused!) I was told it was the correct size. Very expensive for £6.49. Shame as everything else lovely.

I was banned from this pub on 28 December last year by a female member of staff. I asked why she had decided not to serve me and she said it was because of something that had happened the day before, even though I explained I had not been in the pub the previous day. I was not told what it was I was supposed to have done, even though I asked. I had been visiting this pub on and off since the 1990s. Not any longer. Now I spend my money elsewhere. If you don't want to run the risk of being treated unfairly and unkindly, I suggest you do the same.

Really nice Pub with good service and the Karaoke nights are fun! There's a good range of drinks, Beer & Cocktails. It is a bit out of the way to find. Near Morden and only 1 Bus from the Station.

Popped in today for a family lunch and had a great experience. Sunday lunch was fantastic and service was lovely. I’d been recommended by a friend and it didn’t disappoint. Food was presented well and seemed to be be fresh. Will be back soon!

Dog friendly pub lots of room, always accomodating.

We had an enjoyable evening tonight at this pub. Thursday is their steak night for food and quiz night for entertainment. The steak was very nice and the quiz was good fun too. The only thing that stops me giving five stars was the very long wait we had for our dinner to arrive...turned out to be an hour, according to my husband's calculations. But we will definitely go back again soon though.

Been in for a lazy afternoon with my girlfriend watching the rugby. Had great food, pie and mash unreal and my gf had Prosecco. Highly recommended as it had good service too.

Came for dinner, had a lovely meal gammon and chips was delicious. Had a lovely relaxed time with friendly and attentive staff. Would highly recommend.

Great local pub for those living in the Wimbledon Chase area. Change of management last year and Tony, Cameron and the team always offer a warm welcome and credit to them for making this a friendly, comfortable place for local friends and families to get together.

I have been frequenting The leather bottle for 15 years, it’s gone from a quiet family pub to a really well run place. With the recent new management it really is a great pub with wonderful staff that are super welcoming & friendly - there are times where it’s busy at the bar and I’ve waited 10 minutes, and I’ve got annoyed. But that’s not common and it’s only when it’s busy - I’m pleased that it’s busy. Always fab with the live music. SHEDUCATION are a excellent quality fun band that create a wonderful atmosphere. This is an easy going place that serves great pub meals and has plenty of friendly customers. Try it.

A half hour wait at the bar, because of a lack of bar staff and two big parties. Extremely noisy football match on the Tv. An extremely disappointing visit, not to be repeated.

Spacious Greene King pub with well kept ales on tap. Sport on a few screens. Quiet when I popped in but can imagine it gets busier in the evenings.

Amazing staff and food. All staff are friendly and can not do enough for you. We are regulars and can not say a bad word. Overall lovely pub with fantastic staff. We held a family event which went amazing the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us all and made the evening run smoothly. Can not thank the staff enough for all they did and do.

Friendly staff, Great local pub.

Thank you for a fantastic evening, for how mum and dad’s anniversary turned out. The staff was fantastic and the food was fantastic. The chef was spot on with the food, I can also say that they accommodated for my gluten free child, and she really enjoyed her meal. Thank you again to the manager that made us feel very welcome and for allowing this to happen and making it very special for our parents.

Generally this is a nice pub, the atmosphere and staff are friendly. However, this is let down by the cleanliness, especially in the men’s toilets as at least two/three of the urinals were blocked and full of urine. There was also no soap to wash your hands after being in a room full of stale urine. I’m not a clean freak but this was a little off putting.

Nice and clean pub over all but there is few issues which I think it can be easily solved by the Managment, long waiting time to get serve at the bar and the food specially on football events date food quality not great and over priced. Kitchen get closed to early and most of time some of the food on the menu not available. Hope it get sorted.

What a great time we had with our family and friends on Christmas Day. We’d booked midday for twenty (including nine children ages between 11-2). Tony was excellent he’d reserved an area to accommodate us. This enabled us to move freely around our tables without impeding other diners. To be honest, I was very nervous about booking Christmas dinner, we hadn’t done this for many years. My fears included being rushed to finish each course, together with the quality of the food. I was so pleased that my fears were completely unfounded. When we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and shown to the tables. After we’d sorted out our drinks, we were asked if it was okay to begin serving. After each course, the team cleared our servings and presented the next. Even when there was some confusion when some of us couldn’t recall what we’d preordered, the team were patient and accommodating, ensuring we were promptly served. One of our expected guests was unable to join us, the team offered to produce the food and pack to take away. The food was all served hot and was to a very good standard. The pub remained busy throughout our visit but never felt cramped or got too loud. I can only say that the whole party had a wonderful time and we will definitely be booking (early) for next year. Well done Tony and his team, thank you all.

Great food! Always a hit and the 2 for 1 special is amazing!!!!!!! Some times a bit noisy if the karaoke is on....

I recently reviewed this pub and said that a nice pub with welcoming staff was let down by faults in the gent's and problems with the heating. In the interests of fairness I'm delighted to say that these faults have now been rectified. Full credit to the new manager for sorting this and to his lovely staff, Yasmin and Monica for their excellent customer service.

Sadly this place has lost its appeal for me. Went for Sunday.lunch at 1.15 and the only choice if a roast was Beef or Turkey ! No chardonnay wine left. Dessert they had no chocolate fudge cake, all in all disappointing so dont think i will be going back there anytime soon. It seems to be more of a sports bar now than a nice local pub/restaurant such a shame. I will leave the review on a good note although there was only one person serving behind the bar ( one or two had called in sick) she was very attentive and although rushed off of her feet served us with a lovely smile. Thank you whoever you were.

We were out buying our Christmas tree and decided to pop in the pub for a drink, we saw the roast coming out nd ordered a roast each. We both went for the roast beef and it did not disappoint. Can’t wait to return.
