Le Restaurant @ Campanile Glasgow Airport in South Lanarkshire

We booked 2 nights at the Campanile to attend an event at the SEC and have a special birthday few drinkies along the way. Hotel tired, basic and clean. Not too bad for the money and location. The restaurant however, could do with a happier and more customer focussed team. Not once did we see a smile, hear a greeting (apart from the girl at breakfast), feel any form of enthusiasm or even genuine apologetic gestures from any staff at all. It's the Boyzone weekend and yes, we are not idiots, we have worked in hospitality, bars and restaurants for many years so, do actually know what we are talking about, we get that it's busy and people need served and bookings need to be made but not once did anyone ask if we would like to make a reservation for a table to have some dinner (still hungry) for later on. All the guy said was, if you haven't reserved a table, "it's gonna be at least after 8 when you get anything to eat". No offer to take a note of our names for a table or a suggestion to maybe have a drink in the bar until a table is available or even a "sorry" for not being able to accommodate us. The 3 guys on duty look so fed up, unhappy and run off their feet it is almost embarrassing. Surely to goodness, a busy hotel constitutes a busy bar and restaurant. My words of advice would be to keep morale high, motivate and recruit people who are actually happy to work!!!! Very unimpressed. 😡👎

While we was waiting for flight we decided to have some munching time! I would say food was delicious, price was reasonable! When it comes down to food they bring it to your table but if it's drinks we talk about you have to manage yourself- keep in my you have your handbag in one hand and drinks in other hand trying to not spill it while getting to your table. So for that reason 4 out of 5*

Thought a bacon roll might hit the spot before flying to alicante. £3.95 for over cooked bacon a stale roll and no butter oh we are we so complacent !!!

On my first night I had a Rump Steak which was very nice, a bit overdone as I asked for medium rare and it was more medium. Second night I ordered fish which was a mistake. Frozen Fish Fillet in batter had no taste. Did not eat there again

Having stayed at the Campanile Hotel I had my evening meal in Le Restaurant. The menu was pretty basic in terms of choice, but adequate for an 'overnighter'.. the food however was tasty, well presented and well prepared! The ambiance of the restaurant area was a little gloomy for my liking.. but that's purely subjective, objectively it serves it's purpose as the hotels public area/restaurant/bar and is clean and functional.

The in house restaurant at the Campanile Hotel offers standard evening menu fare: burgers, steaks etc at bargain prices. Don't expect gastronomic marvels at this price - my steak was pretty tough - but you get the convenience of not taking the car out. The continental breakfast was very generous - juice, cereal, cold meat and cheese plus toast. No fresh coffee at my time, but I think I was unlucky.

We relaxed atmosphere for drinks before and return from night out in city centre. Friendly staff and great breakfast.

I do have to say that when my wife said to me that we could eat in the Hotel (Campanile) at Glasgow Braehead I had dire visions of meals taken at Campanile Hotels in the 90's where it was all a bit cheap and not so cheerful! How wrong was I! GONE is the smorgasborg (or buffet!) in are good quality dishes that are well prepared and served by cheerful staff - YES we paid over £40 for the meal BUT this included 3 courses and wine SO was not badly priced! I am now quite happy to say that I would return JUST for the food and service... Try it you will NOT be disappointed!
