Went while visiting family, food and the atmosphere was amazing and JP and his staff are extremely helpful and attentive to your needs, I would recommend the steak fillet along with a glass of wine or beer, ask for JPs beer of the month you never know what you might get, try the garlic bread as a starter. Thank you JP for an unforgettable night.

A true gem of a restaurant, beautiful decor, attentive and friendly staff that almost make you feel like a part of the family owned business. Kim, JP and their daughters are meticulous and every plate of food that is served is bursting with flavour and a great amount of attention is paid to the choice of ingredients used. Keep up the great work.

We went with my partner for the very first time for dinner last night and we were amazed by the quality of food, service and atmosphere. We know it was going to be a good restaurant according to the reviews but this place truly exceeded our expectations. It's extremely rare to find a place that ticks all the boxes but this establishment does, and very comfortably. Their selection and specials make you want to order the whole thing. They have an amazing selection with various choices that would make everyone happy. For example my partner doesn't like sea food much, but felt like there was still plenty to choose from. Every single dish was delicious, you can tell it's cooked with passion. Their wine selection is amazing, we asked for a French wine that wasn't on the drink list and they had it! (Highly recommend the Vouvray!) The staff made us very welcome, went out their way for us to have a good time and the Chef came to our table twice. I don't remember this ever happening in any other restaurant I've been to before. It's the little details that make this place special. As a Frenchman I thought I hate better there than any other restaurants I've been to in France. My partner is British and told me it was now one of her favourite restaurants too. She thought it was incredible from start to finish. This restaurant truly deserves all the stars it can get. It goes without saying that we will be back as soon as we can.

Dry and burnt steak, sour onion soup, very salty fish, disassembled beef wellington, overcooked beef. Definetly not worth the price. Avoid.

We stopped here after a visit to Hampton Court. We were on the early side of lunch with two rowdy kids tired of castle tours! They accommodated us so well and reassured us our kids were just fine. The food was fabulous, and our kids were once again catered to with breaded chicken and mash, (think American southerners diving into French cuisine ha!) while we had duck and lobster. So delicious!

Le Petit Nantais is my favourite restaurant. Forget your big name, famous chef places. They will not be as good as what Kim and JP have to offer. JP’s food is another level and a tight ship is run up front by Kim. If you want fantastic food, a great atmosphere and to dine the night away then there is no better place on earth.

I used to go to this restaurant when it was first opened 26 odd years ago. I was looking forward to revisiting, I loved it. Never have I been more disappointed. It was expensive, extremely small portions, my sauce was glutinous and where were the vegetables. I no longer live locally so I will never re-visit. I am married to a French Chef who has retired but his cooking would beat anything from this restaurant hands down and at a fraction of the cost. Pretentious is a good word to describe them.

What a great experience - a true “gastronomic extravaganza”. The foie grass was superb and the monkfish curry fantastic. Friendly and professional service, lovely ambiance and an superb meal overall BUT it was somewhat expensive at £330.00 for 4 with an inexpensive bottle of wine. Despite the price, we will be back.

JP and Kim are the most wonderful hosts. There were 14 of us for lunch to celebrate my my husbands 50th Birthday, we were all made to feel so special. The food as always was amazing, the service was impeccable, our friends were blown away by how wonderful it was. Thank you both, we all had the most perfect afternoon and did not want to leave.

The food is incredible but I was so disappointed when I tried to amend my booking... basically, I had a table for 2 booked for tonight but the other person has covid. Rather than cancel, it was coincidental that another group I know were going to be at the restaurant at the same sort of time, so I asked if I could instead join their party of 4, making their table a 5. I was just told a flat "no" in a very rude tone and had to pay a cancellation fee of £48. It would have been better for the restaurant for me to have gone as I would have easily spent more than £48 on 2 or 3 courses. Frustrating and as much as I love the food there, I doubt I'll ever go again.

Everything about this place is superb. From the quality of service, the welcoming and friendly touch by the owners, to the quality of the food. highly recommended and worth experiencing.

Superb food, beautiful attention to detail. Clearly very proud of the food they serve and rightly so. We were made to feel so welcome it was our first visit but we felt we had been going for years. We will definitely be going there again. The oysters were incredible fresh, thanks to the chef the sauces were cooked to perfection, expertly seasoned. The owners were very gracious and friendly and the waitresses very attentive. Service was immaculate. We had gone for a romantic birthday dinner and it was the best we have had out for as long as I can remember! We certainly won’t be waiting for another birthday to go back.

Outstanding as always. We have become regular visitors to this wonderful restaurant. The food and service are always excellent, and with the daily specials you never know what treats will be in store. JP, Kim and family honestly are the best hosts and people we can now call friends.. We now visit once a month and have stopped eating out elsewhere as nothing lives up to this.. Book a table when in the area you won't be disappointed

Just great fresh seafood. My go to every time is a dozen of oysters. They were fresh and tasty. Very friendly and informative about what they have fresh on the menu. Have been there a few times already and always very enjoyable will definitely go back again.

Had a great family meal here last Saturday to celebrate a birthday. Lovely atmosphere, great food and wonderful service. The list of specials was enormous which shows they cook based on what’s been delivered that day. A great range of fish and shellfish. Wines reasonably priced. All in all a great experience and we will be back

Food was good ...however the service was unfocused and certainly the owners were clearly only interested in customers that they knew...overall it was a bad vibe for us not helped by very flakey service throughout the evening and a somewhat aggressive response by the owner's wife early on in the proceedings to a very minor observation that we had about not getting the drink that we had actually ordered.. none of us will be returning or recommending.

Outstanding as always and worth every penny.. We do not eat out often and would rather just eat here on a more regular basis. The food is fabulous, we have never had a bad meal.. The specials are usually fish/seafood that has been caught in Cornwall and changes daily.. I don't think we have ever ordered off the a la carte menu.. This is a family run restaurant, a cosy/romantic setting and the most friendliest of atmospheres.. If you are in the area, this is a must. You won't be disappointed

Le Petit Nantais is a gem in a beautiful little street near Hampton Court palace. The decor is romantic, for a special night out. The food and the hospitality are just absolutely fantastic. We go regularly but I was absolutely amazed by the fact that JP and Kim the owners created a special menu for our fussy kids too. Would absolutely recommend!

Having lived locally for over 10 years, we’d somehow never managed to get here. We’ve now been twice in a month, once as a couple, and once as a family. The menu is good, but what really makes this standout is the set of daily specials. A lot to choose from - Seafood platters, surf and turf, Scallops, mussels, langoustines. All of it very fresh, well cooked and presented. Service is good and not fussy. We’ve now booked a birthday dinner in 3 weeks time so I think it’s safe to say we thoroughly recommend it.

Quiet and intimate restaurant - beautiful decor with clusters of lights and flowers and mirrors everywhere. We have lived in the area for two years and always talked about eating here. The restaurant is decorated in classic French style and very appealing from the outside. We finally got round to eating here for dinner and we’re not disappointed. The menu was well thought out and the special list as long as your arm. We both had exquisite meals, pork belly & monkfish. The owners were also friendly, engaging and passionate. Highly recommend and will definitely be back soon

A more limited menu as they are emerging from the Covid lock-down, but the food was excellent. The fish was fresh and my companion's rip-eye steak was tender and cooked as specified. The other course were tasty and obviously prepared with care. This is a well-run, friendly establishment that deserves to prosper once again. I can't eat here every week, but I nevertheless plan to return in the near future.

I cannot think of a better place to have lunch with friends than au coeur d’Hampton Court on the buzzy Bridge Rd. Le Petit Nantais has been setting the pace there for many years.JP and Kim and the team never disappoint. Great food, fun and ambiance.The specials were superb.

Just have to say how great it was to see JP & Kim again this evening. Took my daughter here tonight for her first visit and it absolutely blew her away. Great to see that nothing has changed since lockdown (well a few masks and sanitiser) but the food is still top drawer! Always top notch and never fails to impress. We booked for our first post lockdown resturant night out to celebrate my partners birthday. Start to finish the food and service was amazing and impeccable. Wine was beautiful and the after dinner drinks excellent value also. The fillet steak and my special pork dish were cooked beautifully. A really great local resturant with great dedication to ensuring saftey and wellness for guests and their own staff.

JP and Kim cooked up a fantastic meal, Garlic Lobster, Chicken in Blue Cheese sauce, their legendary chocolate mousse and a selection of cheeses and fresh bread. Everything was perfect and just needed heating up so made it so easy and my wife and I could enjoy a wonderful meal at home. The wine selection was also fantastic. Cant wait to go back with a big group to celebrate properly when all this is over but until then.... book in a takeaway with them you will not be disappointed.

Decided to try as we had friends visiting Hampton court from Canada. We were not disappointed. The service was first class with top recommendations from the owner. I didn’t look at the menu and my food was so tasty. Cocktail and wine recommendations also spot on. It is not the cheapest restaurant as mentioned on previous reviews but you get what you pay for and it was worth every penny. We will be back.

I ordered the sea bass which was of very high quality and cooked to perfection. The house wine was superb. We will definitely be returning!!!

Very average at prices that expect a much higher standard of cooking. Overcooked fish dry and tasteless, likewise vegetables. This used to be good French cuisine at acceptable prices but sadly the standard had dropped and the prices risen, a surefire death knell to a restaurant in these difficult times.

Really excellent but not over-fussy French restaurant in the style of so many lovely family restaurants across France. The French chef is a great character and takes great pride in sourcing top quality fresh ingredients. Service is delivered with great warmth and character. We have been going here regularly for 20 years and it never dissapoints.

What must be the worst table in the house, right by the front door, meant a cold blast whenever it was opened. Food was hit and miss, and expensive. Mussels in my moules mariniere were tiny. My wife (who is French) said her sea bass was ok, but not as good as we cook at home. My steak frites was good though. Creme brulees had good flavour, but weren't set. The Muscadet sur Lie served wasn't the one listed, although it was a sur Lie of the same vintage so I said nothing (and neither did the waiter). Probably should have as it was very average. Our first time there and won't return.
