C'était vraiment super! Excellent place and the master of ceremonies are amazing. Typically French, but in London. It is an experience and I am sure that you will appreciate the enthusiasm of the hosts. I have given 4 stars for the food, as I do not want you to believe that I am related to them, in any way (but really should be 5). I have no criticism of anything here. I loved it!!!

What a nice wine bar! Very characterful, - ties hanging from the ceiling! Great selection of French wines to choose from and really friendly staff who helped recommend what we might like. We also had a charcuterie board with bread, which staff kindly topped up when we ran low. (Cold food only during the day, hot food available after 6pm I believe). We didn’t have a reservation on a Saturday afternoon but found a space easily. All in all, a great place to while away an afternoon with friends. Or maybe a fun place for a date!

I’ve been meaning to go for sometime, and watching a show nearby meant the opportunity finally arose. I didn’t have a booking but a seat was found on a big table where others were also sat. The whole place was packed with quite an eclectic bohemian crowd in this quirky bar/restaurant which gave the place a charming energy. Both the food and wine was excellent, served quickly, and the bill when it came showed great value too. If you, like me, love bars and restaurants that herald to a bygone time in a bygone place, then please do give this place a go.

They entertained my terrible French. In Covent Garden area looking for a charc board, this place came up and I had the opportunity to sit at the bar sipping glasses of wine (encore, s'il te plaît) as the patron count waxed and waned and I enjoyed the scene whilst reading some printed articles. Great evening.

My new favourite bar in London. A wonderfully quirky, buzzy place which couldn't feel further from the touristy, chain-heavy part of London it's situated in. Nice wine (I enjoyed a Viognier then a Beaujolais & Pinot Noir) & will be back to try the food. The place was absolutely packed but they seemed to be finding a way to accommodate everybody, whether standing, bar seating or at tables. We had reserved & were put on a table of 8 to share - sort of added to the charm but it wouldn't be for everyone.

A fantastic ambience, a genuine small part of France as we love it. The food is sensational, the Maison Vin Le Beaujolais is very moorish. It has the best cheese board I have ever seen in UK. It's a really great gastromical experience. It's run in the most inviting and friendly way by owner of Jean-Yves Darcel visited for the second time 16th October our review Fred Finn Local Guide ・226 reviews a week ago Cosy ambience delightful service out of this world it was a year ago almost but forgot to post. The best cheese board I have seen in the UK.

Great lovely decor and cosy place but APPALLING service. The whole evening experience was ruined by this older male (manager)? It was busy and I understand. We were just trying to find a place to sit down for drinks. Then, he was rude by saying “what do you want me to say”. How odd! We didn’t even say anything that might upset him. I used to work in hospitality industry and I DO understand the work can be exhausting. But, please at least show some kindness to jolly first time customer. My friend recommended this place to me several times and had high praised, so I thought give it a go this evening. Definitely not going back.

I regret to say our experience at Le Beaujolais was highly disappointing. Despite it being lunchtime with ample space, the staff made it uncomfortably clear that our presence with a baby was unwelcome. We chose a table that accommodated our group of three adults and a baby in a pushchair without impeding any pathways, yet the server’s rudeness overshadowed our visit. His insistence that a baby should not be at the establishment was both shocking and disheartening. Such unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. I would urge families, especially those with young children, to consider the many other friendly options in the area where the welcome is warmer and the service is more accommodating.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon and the places was packed, but fortunately we managed to find a spot. Despite how busy it is, people there were very friendly and attentive. Service was very fast, and the prices are reasonable considering the location. Moreover, they are quite helpful in suggesting what to drink, which is good considering that they have a decent list to choose from. We didn't try the food, but it looks good, and would love to come back again to try it. Next time I would make sure to have a reservation before going there.

Lovely French wine bar, with a selection of decent wines by the glass. I dined by myself at the bar, which is a great place to meet people. It was packed when I walked in; the mademoiselle allowed me to stand by the bar to drink while waiting for a seat. Had a petite assiette de charcuterie to accompany my drinks. While food is not my main concern, the generous selection of 6 types of cured meats & a pate made me very happy. Drinks wise, started with a Ricard, then a glass each of muscadet sevre, Gigondas, Cahors. Enjoyed the progression between wine and the charcuterie. The eclectic decor of ties & glass mugs hung from the wooden ceiling made the place feel more fun. For me, service is good. I saw some scowls by other patrons, but it takes 2 to tango! ;) Highly recommended.

My nostalgic fleeting visit to the old 'Winkles Wine Bar' taken over by Joel from Louis in the 70's to 80's was a real treat; fabulous buzz and a genuineness and sense if fierce French independent hospitality was so much fun and a delightful change to the usual 'dry' corporate hospitality vibe ever-present in many metropolitan establishment; "vive la liberté" with good wine and "savoire-faire" and a toast to absent old friends

One of the weirdest experiences. We were seated on the bar. My partner was pushed (not a exaggeration, and he did not attempt to say excuse me or anything) out the way by the manager when he was trying to get behind the bar. We were both in shock to even say anything and generally struggle to complain. We then moved ourselves to a table when one freed up. The other waiter seemed to have an issue with this as it was booked for two hours later, but almost seemed like she was doing us a favour by letting us sit there for a drink. We then asked for the bill after our drink. I could see three staff members trying to work out which our bill was. I offered to tell them what we had, which they completely ignored. I then got up to go to the bar to help, when another waiter acted like I was trying to leave without paying. Extremely weird staffing practise and just felt so uncomfortable and unwanted the whole time we were there. Very pretty interior and in theory would be a lovely bar

They say you should never go back. Over 30 years ago, when a young graduate, Le Beaujolais used to be our regular meeting place. Today I decided to engage in nostalgia whilst in London, and we came back to find that the place has hardly changed, a small haven of France in Central London. The food was still generously portioned and great to eat, the house wine delicious and the welcome as good as we remembered. Sometimes they say you should not go back, Le Beaujolais is the place that disproves that rule.

Le Beaujolais is a charming French wine bar located in the heart of London's Seven Dials neighborhood. The bar has been in operation for over 50 years, and it has a warm and inviting atmosphere that is perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner. The wine list at Le Beaujolais is extensive, and the staff is knowledgeable and happy to help you choose the perfect wine to pair with your meal. The food menu features classic French dishes such as steak frites, coq au vin, and moules frites. The prices looked to be very reasonable. We only visited for some drinks as we already had a table booked elsewhere but we will definitely be back to eat. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Le Beaujolais. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. I would highly recommend Le Beaujolais to anyone looking for a great French dining experience in London. * Service: 5/5 * Atmosphere: 4/5 * Overall: 4.5/5

Great atmosphere but the food is very poor for the price. £20 for canteen-style sausage & chips. Another £20 for "fish pie", aka salmon with cheese sauce (definitely not a pie). "Fondue" is a small cardboard tub of melted herby cheese served with stale bread. £10 for a bowl of adequate onion soup (which costs about 10p to make). I've been around provincial France to recognise the level of quality - it's what you would get at any random bistro in any random town - but here it is twice the price. Drink enough wine and you might think it is classy but IMO this is just enough sign of the relative decline of French cuisine (compared with the incredible options from around the world elsewhere in Soho and London in general).
