Saturday 22.8- Lovely welcome by helpful boy on the till and he found us a table. Polite lady bought drinks over but was all let down by a small lukewarm drink.

Found this cafe by accident and was so glad we did! Loved the menu, what a fabulous choice for us veggies amongst all the chain restaurants. But also for the meat eaters like my husband, we both left after a delicious lunch thank you! Recommend the sriracha sandwich and also the all day bagel and the tea was good too! And the added bonus of lots of furry friends too, we’ll visit again

The Bok Shop

19/09/2020: Friend recommended this place and was incredible chicken.I had the Satay Night Fever burger which was cooked to perfection with a brioche bun and incredible sauce. Had the seasoned fries on the side which were just the right amount of spice and just as tasty. Will definitely be coming here again for food when I am back in Brighton - 10/10.
23/08/2020: Saw reviews reccomending KFC over Bok - they must have gone on a bad day because our food was superb! One of my favourite places in Brighton

Isaac At Gloucester Street

03/10/2020: We’ve been coming here since it opened 5 years ago, we come every year but perhaps only once or twice. It’s always good but this visit was the best. Sitting at the pass was nice change, the place has been redecorated in lockdown and it looks better for it. The food was excellent, we topped up the fixed 7 course taster with the cheese and malted mousse, but only 1 of these to share and that was plenty. The informal service at the pass and occasional chatter with chef was certainly to our taste.
23/08/2020: We took the opportunity to visit the restaurant for a date after months of lockdown. Was looking forward to it but do not like having to pay a deposit. I know restaurants use to do it many years ago but was surprised to have to pay £30 a head to book a table!! Our booking was at 6pm and we were finished the 8 course tasting menu at £60 a head by 7:20 I felt like they wanted us in and out as quickly as possible!! The menu was so varied...fish, meat, salad with warm dressing and 3 puddings!! Nothing really stood out at all. Like the fact that the food is locally sourced. The Local wine pairing at £50 was a nice touch but expensive for what is was!! The service was excellent but each time a member of staff came to explain the food or wine it was very difficult to hear them with the noise and they were wearing masks. I appreciated the masks in this time but added to the servers/chefs being hard to hear. I did leave a generous tip as the enthusiastic effort of the staff was impressive. The venue is quite small and toilet is in the middle of the restaurant. The hand written sign beside the latch said to please ensure you lock it properly to ensure privacy!! I eat out a lot and was quite surprised at the £220 bill for the tasting menu and wine pairing for 2!!
