Great food, cocktails and atmosphere! Will definitely come back

Food had no taste not very good order a cocktail took to long had to go to the bar to ask for my cocktails when I got it taste like it had been water down was missing the spirit. The only thing that was good was the dessert.Took to long to serve you. Toilet not very clean.

Food itself was good and enjoyed it. The restaurant has a nice feel to it when busy too. There were numerous issues with the service: 1. It took ages to order both food and drink 2. When we finished our first jug of sangria, it was taken but no asking us if we wanted another. 3. No one asked us if the food was actually okay 4. We were told 40 minute wait for a dish but this was after a 30 minute wait to order some more dishes. So no point. 5. One waitress apologised to us when we had our second round of drinks and pretty sure her tables were the other side of the restaurant. 6. Throughout the evening our table was passed many times when it was obvious we were looking to order. There were a couple of other couples who looked to be in the same boat. 7 when I asked for the bill, our waiter could not have rushed any faster to give us the bill, we were literally laughing at this gob smacked. The card machine made it to us in record time, yet food ordering just felt chaotic and discombobulated. The fact a service charge was put on the bill was pretty comical so we asked I have that removed. We won't be going here agin, however, they have a sister restaurant in selsdon called El Patio and they are genuinely great.

We haven't been here for a long time, and sorry to say we won't be going back for a long time! Poor value for money and even worse service. Shame, it used to be great!

We went on New Years, it was okay, food was edible but definitely tasted like microwaveable food, like just heated up. Not much of a vibe / atmosphere. Massive shame because it used to be so nice aw las fuetenes. Price is very reasonable. My favourite is definitely El Patio in Selsdon, tastes like the old Las Fuentes but 10 times better!

This is second time at La Tasqueria and cannot recommend enough. The food is so tasty and very well presented. The staff are excellent with special call out to Nej he made everyone feel at home from grandparents to my 4 year old. Everyone felt special and well looked after. Just home and already planning our next visit.

Wonderful food, service and experience. Highly recommend a visit for a delicious meal with fantastic service. We visited as a family of 4 and so glad we did! We were taken such good care of by Nej who made the experience really personal and special and made sure we had a great time.

Great to come back here after many years. There was a problem with the electricity and gas supply which made food prep and service tricky but we still enjoyed it very much

Nice food but the bar staff and waiters are very rude and have attitudes. I understand they are busy and under pressure but if you can't give good customer service then they are clearly in the wrong job!... Very dissapointing

I love Spanish cuisine, and I had high hopes. Those declined slightly when I saw the menu, as it didn't seem to have to traditional spread of Spanish tapas dishes. But I thought, well you know quality is the most important factor. Well, it was okay the food but not worth the cost and honestly of I wanted Spanish tapas, I would just travel a bit further into central to get the authentic which is everywhere. Also, the drinks menu is strange for a "Spanish" restaurant - I mean there was one choice of wine for red, white or rose or sangria, and then there were pages of spirits and cocktails etc. just not typically Spanish at all. Sadly, much disappointed 😞

We revisited Las Fuentes after many years of absence and was pleasantly surprised by the improvement. The atmosphere in the now airy restaurant was very refreshing and the food quality was excellent. We ate early evening and the service was faultless. I would be happy to return to this restaurant.

Hadn't been here for a few years but was pleasantly surprised that it had lost none of its best features such as friendly, excellent service and great food.

The food was not very good. The fried calamari was rubbery and had no taste. But the mixed Skewer was very nice.

We stopped by on a Wednesday night and we didn't have to make a reservation. The waiters were lovely. We didn't feel rushed to make our orders and when our orders came out 😍😍😍 The atmosphere was homey and warm. Service was excellent.

Very nice Spanish tapas restaurant. Went there on Sat at 1200. Even though place was completely empty we had a high quality lunch and of course excellent service! I would go again If oporto ity smarises

Beautiful Spanish Tapas place close to Purley Station Lunch deals are great and if you love fish please go for their fish dishes especially sardines and monkfish. The waiters are very helpful with suggestions. The decor makes you feel like you have stepped into the Canary Islands, complete with 3 different varieties of chilli plants near the entrance. It boasts of a large bar adjacent to the restaurant as well.

The food has always been good, but sadly, the service was underwhelming. Don't order the apple pie for dessert if you are hungry it is just a slither, and we were told it comes already cut. 🙄

Las Fuentos has been in Purley for long time now. I've been coming down since the nineties. Great service, excellent atmosphere and tasty food. What more can I say. Good place for watching football with prawns and beer. In the afternoon you can sit out the front and catch some rays with a friend, or maybe a good book.

Another great meal at Las Fuentes. The serving staff were absolutely amazing. Extremely efficient and friendly with it. Food was of the highest standard and would not hesitate to recommend.

What a disappointment experience! If you want alioli don’t go there not only because they just mixed garlic into the mayonnaise jars, nice try, but also dishonest waiter who reaffirmed that this was alioli after been asked. The chicken and ham croquettes where very dry as the besamel has been elaborated wrongly as they added potato flocks for consistency but at the end the taste fail completely into a catastrophe. You will pay £16 for a portion of defrosted octopus just microwave reheated as they think customers will it never noticed. At the end I was lucky I only ordered 1/2 pint draft beer as ONLY costed £4 and not £6 for the whole pint, lol Never again, vaya con Dios

I visited Las Fuentes a few years ago and my experience was very nice. Unfortunately I can’t say the same about my yesterday’s visit. A couple of my friends and I had dinner there. The atmosphere was nice, but nothing else… We ordered two glasses of rose wine ( we also double checked with the waiter to make sure the wine was the rose wine, as it wasn’t clear from the menu. The menu just said ‘semi sweet’) and he brought us two glasses of white instead. Then we ordered two separate seafood paellas. The waiter brought us one paella and the rest of the food that we ordered. We were waiting for one more paella to come, so we could all start eating together. However after 15 mins of waiting we asked the waiter where was our dish. After checking with the chef he said that they had put two paellas in one dish. However we never asked for it to be in one dish. That was very disappointing, because of we knew that from the beginning, we would start eating straight away and not waiting until the food went cold. Both waiters who were serving us didn’t apologised for their mistakes even once. They also never checked on us to see whether we were happy with everything while we were there. Food. Unfortunately my food wasn’t very nice (potatoes with chorizo and scallops). My friend’s paella wasn’t very tasty either. It was very tasteless. Big disappointment! In the end when we asked for the bill, I asked to take the leftovers of my food home. The waiter said that he would charge me 50p for the box. I said that I was very surprised to hear that they are charging for boxes (never came across of this before!), for which I received a reply from the waiter saying that other restaurants are charging for the tap water and they don’t, which I thought wasn’t a professional answer at all. Then the waiter said that because they made a mistake with our paellas he would take off the service charge from the bill (which is optional anyway!) and he wouldn’t charge me for the box (50p), which I found very petty and dismissive. We didn’t want to ruin our evening, so we just paid the bill and left. We definitely won’t be back to this place. It changed for the worse. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit Las Fuentes.

We have been here before and was impressed with food and service but our recent visit left us extremely disappointed with the service and food. Tasteless food, the waiter was miserable and everything seemed to be a huge effort and he didn't crack a smile. Very expensive bill for tasteless food. Will not be visiting or recommending this place in the future

Excellent seafood & chicken paella. Pushed the boat by adding side order of King prawns and scallops in garlic. Go very well together. Service friendly.

Food was over priced for the quality 🤔 sea food dishes wernt seasoned and fish was not fresh. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. However we were charged for takeaway boxes and the ladies toilet were disgusting, blocked with toilet tissue and covered in s***. Having worked in the hospitality industrie I would have hoped regular toilet checks would have been vital considering the proximity of the ladies look to the open kitchen. Quality and hygiene should be reviewed. The only redeeming factor was the staff and their friendliness.

I had high hopes for Las Fuentes, but unfortunately I left disappointed. While the staff were welcoming and helpful, the food was unfortunately not worth the price. The calamari was unfortunately rubbery and flaccid, with no crisp. The ham croquettes were stodgy and sticky, with little flavour. The potato, chorizo and chilli was the saving grace. The potato was cooked well, and the garlic, tomato and chilli combined well in the sauce for a good flavour. The paella was almost a hit as well, except the chicken was gristly, and chewy from being over cooked. The flavour was good but there was not much depth or complexity to it. Unfortunately the prices are much too high for the value here, particularly for a tapas experience. The portions should be smaller, with a low cost, so that more of the menu can be sampled and shared. I would not recommend coming here until they’ve made improvements to their menu and recipes, particularly as Coulsdon has an excellent tapas restaurant a short drive away. However, if you’re in the area or live locally, it may be worth the trip if you don’t wish to travel further afield

Very expensive for what you get. Pushy service who want to top up your wine every 5 minutes. Shame as place itself is quite nice. Not sure I'll be back.

Had a great evening with friends. Food is really good, plenty of it too. Good service, well-priced. I’ll be going back, and recommend Las Fuentes without hesitation.

Food and service is fantastic here. This is the first time we've been here for a while (pre covid was our last time) and glad to see it's still the best tapas around 😊

Amazing food and excellent service

Lively, popular restaurant which tells you the food must be good, and it was! Lots of options for vegetarians! Good service too.

Tried this place last night for the first time after being recommended by a friend was very underwhelmed. First off we greeted by a tired and old menu which hardly has anything in the way of tapas off the seafood menu. The wine list has to be requested separately and also you cannot taste any of the wine that you are purchasing by the bottle. Don’t order the chrorizo, potatoe and tomatoe with chilli. Whilst the portion was generous the food was tasteless. Sorry to say but the service was well below standard in my opinion.

If you want a nice relaxing evening with tasty food to catch up with friends and family this is definitely not the place to go, too busy for its own good the noise is on another level if your even slightly hard of hearing, you can forget about having any kind of conversation, food very mediocre I had a steak which was ok just, but side salad consisted of a quarter tomato and a sad looking lettuce leaf very poor for the price, not enough staff and some lacking customer service skills not a good experience in my opinion and would not recommend or visit again.

Wednesday night, few customers, appalling, bordering on rude service. Calves liver not fresh and overcooked, and other dishes very average. No one asked if our food was OK. Had to chase for the Bill! One of our party asked for the Manager to complain about the service etc, 'No, we don't have one' was the reply! Never again, and we will tell all of or friends and family never to bother with Las Fuentes again.

This was the worse experience I have ever had, the service was appalling, the food when it arrived was just thrown on the table, the liver was not fresh nor the meatballs which arrived 10 minutes after everyone else was served. The staff just ignored us, we had to chase constantly for the bill, then the payment service. Please give this a wide birth. Never again.

Great lunch time menu at a great price.

An extremely popular traditional tapas restaurant. I’ve been dining with Las Fuentes when then had their smaller place in Purley. Their menu is delicious and never fail to impress. It is my favourite, most rustic tapas family run business with a great selection of traditional wines and drinks.

Delicious Spanish food, a very large selection of tapas. There is Cava and delicious desserts. Nice place, nice service.

Brilliant food and service. It's a short walk from Purley station too, which makes getting to and from easy peasy

I just did order scallops with potatoes. What I have received is potatoes with 1.5 scallop. This is ridiculous. I will never order here anymore. I did spent £13 for fried potatoes.

Sorry but this place isn’t worth the money you pay for. A steak £25 but you get not even 100 grams of meat . Poor salads Chips it’s better on chicken a chips shops then here. Sorry fellas your never see me again Rubbish restaurant

A good night out, good tapas but main course needs side dish at extra cost

The restaurant was not busy, however our welcome was very abrupt and unfriendly. Our menus were practically thrown at us. Within two minutes we were asked for our order. As we were not ready to order our food we were TOLD to order our drinks. At this point we decided to leave. Would not recommend to anyone who is looking for a pleasant dining experience.

This is not Spanish cooking, gambas al anillo nothing like the real thing, croquetas very poor. Would j ot recommend any dish.

Been going to Las Fuentes since it began. Always had a great atmosphere, & brilliant staff. We were disappointed. Layout has changed. It looks like a canteen with long tables crammed in. Service charge was off the scale too & we spent a lot, with 16 of us. So although food is still excellent, we will not return.

Surly / moody staff. Didn’t feel welcomed at all. So different from when it was family run. The food was below par - all the sauces wrong on the mussels and prawns - and exceptionally expensive. Had been going there for years but I don’t even think it’s Spanish run anymore.

I had a good experience at Las Fuentes. It's a short walk from Purley station and its one of the few upscale restaurants around Purley high street. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I will definitely return to try more items on their menu that I couldn't on my last visit.

Vegan/vegi risotto needs a reviewing and the pork chops were not doing the meal any justice, a nice fat butchers one would change the whole dish. My 60th birthday meal was a bit rushed very noisy no time to sit and talk to family as waiting staff member was quite impatient. I don't get to see due to distance so little disappointed to tell the truth. And they didn't say happy birthday 🎂 😂

Very large variety. Large restaurant and lovely ambience. Was there for our sons birthday. Food was very good. We selected tapas and for 5 of us, 2 dishes each was just right to share as portions were large.

Food still good, staff not so much, they need to up their game and be a little more friendly and professional.

Been here many times to keep trying after the old owner has moved to Coulsdon. But today was the end for me. Food was ok probably a 7/10. But the service from the staff was terrible. They used to be so friendly and welcoming, happy to chat. But now you are just any old person in a restaurant. It has lost its charm and character. Portions are small and over priced. Think its time to join the old manager in Coulsdon as he had it run perfectly. Such a shame. If you don't want to feel welcomed then this is perfect!

The Bravas are great!!!!!! With a different touch

Not sure why they ever refurbished this place. It's lost all it's charm and character. The staff used to be really friendly and fun but now it's like every other restaurant in Croydon/Purley. The menu is the same as it always was but the portions are smaller and noticeably more oily. Icing on the cake for me was that they have a massive bar but the waiter poured our diet cokes secretively under the counter from an old 2 litre bottle and they were completely flat! Such a shame.

Very nice food. Generous portions. Good prices. Only negative point: the non-alcoholic drinks have too much ice, so lose their taste too quickly.

An unexpected discovery! The manager boasted that "our Spanish food is better than the local Spanish food!" He also asked not to tell others, but our habit is that if we have good food, how can we not introduce it to our friends!

Las Fuentes Is one of my all time favourite tapas restaurants. Tasty food, great atmosphere and very attentive waiters.

My first visit, and I was pleasantly surprised. Very good food and the staff were friendly. I would definitely go again and, hopefully, I'll be able to award that extra ⭐️. A very enjoyable evening.

Nice food, although both dishes we've ordered were overloaded with onions! Also "fried octopus" is really "stewed octopus", would be nice if that would be clearer. Some tables are very close to the kitchen, so it's impossible to sit there in the evening, as it gets very loud and its where all the cutleries etc, but we've asked to change a table and the service was very nice to accommodate our request. House rose wine is rather average, I wouldn't recommend that, but would definitely come back for oysters, they were delicious!

Great place for a big friends or family gathering. Quite a loud, fun atmosphere. Good service. Just be aware the tapas are all large, so careful not to over order. Many of them are a meal in themselves and served with sides.

bare ringing a bell 5 times evrry couple seconds. not enjoyable the room echos and smells like old meat and just no peace to enjoy a mea whatsoever. came for mothers day and regret it.

Dining experience is good. But I notice the food is not good anymore.

Last night at Las Fuentes was an awful experience. I went out with family and friends some of whom I haven't seen in over two years. Surprisingly, being sat next to a large group of diners who spent the entire evening shouting, banging the tables and whistling wasn't the worst part. No, eventually our order was taken and eventually our food arrived. Except for mine. Every few minutes a flagged down waiter would come by and explain it would just be a few minutes. The best part of an hour later it did eventually arrive and it was probably quite good but the opportunity to enjoy it had long since passed. Apparently, we weren't charged for my order. I don't know as I'd left long before the bill came. This was my first time in a restaurant since the pandemic. I remembered Las Fuentes being quite good. Maybe it still is and I was just unlucky. I don't care. I'll never set foot in that place again.

This was my third visit here. The last two times were a year or two back and the service and food was incredible. This time, it definitely wasn’t. The food wasn’t great and def not worth the London prices. The tapas down the road at Galicia in South Croydon is reasonably priced, tasty and with great portion sizes. Here is was £20 for six cubes of meat on a stick, two of which were burnt chorizo. Absolute joke. Also the bread was just terrible, have never had such tasteless bread in a restaurant, might as well have been hovis. Served with a dish full of olive oil and a singular drop of balsamic. Pretty rank. The Ice cream and Churros were good, as was the waiter who took over at 3pm.

We are Spanish and must say this restaurant was excellent, fantastic food and environment

5 stars for the food and 3 stars for the staff, I didn't feel very welcome, not as hospitable as I had expected, just not the right vibe from the staff, was greeted by an older gentleman who preferred (or looked like) he didn't want to be there.

Very peaceful place to enjoy a lovely meal alone or with friends & family. Staff are very professional & helpful I would highly recommend this restaurant.
